First of all, when you walk into the bakery, the aroma will absolutely take your breath away. You will literally want to order 1 of everything just off of smell alone. Very cute cozy bakery. My partner and I ordered 1 slice of Dubai pistachio cream cheese cake, 1 chocolate chip cookie, 1 slice of upside down German Chocolate cake, and 1 cinnamon roll with the nuts and no icing. Service was great, such a sweet young lady that helped us. Here's my review on each item: Dubai Cheesecake - pretty presentation. It was good for the most part but I think I expected more. I personally wouldn't order again. Chocolate chip cookie - very good cookie. The right amount of chocolate chips and it was really soft which I enjoy my cookies soft. I would order another. German Chocolate cake - oh my god!!! That was one of the best German chocolate cakes I've ever had. I enjoyed how moist the cake was and the nutty texture on top was next level. I would definitely order another slice. The Cinnamon roll - this was my favorite thing we ordered. This cinnamon roll was to die for! Pillowy soft and the right amount of sweetness. IF YOU ARE COMING HERE FOR THE CINNAMON ROLLS, DONT! I've been on a hunt for the best cinnamon rolls in LA and this place kept popping up as one of the best. I'm going to explain in detail why this just isn't true. First, it's cash only. So if you decide to ignore my review and come, make sure you have cash. I got the cinnamon which was very huge. But I asked for the frosting on the side as I heard the frosting was insanely sweet and ruins the cinnamon roll. Honestly the cinnamon roll by itself was a lot better than with the frosting. The cinnamon roll was soft and had good flavor but just a bit overwhelming. I felt over it after 1 bite. So I added some of the frosting and WOOOOOOW it doesn't have flavor. Just pure sugar only. Yes cinnamon rolls are a dessert and sweet but this was like I drank pure sugar water. I tossed that frosting. No way people actually eat that. I went to this bakery for a Cinnabon because I kept seeing people ranting and raving about it on TikTok. When I saw it, it wasn't really giving Cinnabon.. it was giving sticky bread. I still gave it a chance. It was okay, but it didn't have enough cinnamon for me. It reminded me of a Little Debbie honey bun warmed up with heavy cream. I was looking for a thick, gooey, soft center Cinnabon moment, and it just wasn't that. I took two or three bites and passed on it. We also got the marble coffee cake, the cashier recommended it, and he did his big one because it was excellent. We got cinnamon crisps too, and those were super good kind of churro like but crispier, almost like a tortilla chip but not really. Delicious though. We grabbed snickerdoodle cookies, but they weren't giving snickerdoodle, more like sugar cookies. Good, just not snickerdoodle. There were so many dessert options that it took us about 15 minutes to decide. I probably should've gotten the lemon cake or carrot cake instead of the Cinnabon. My sister told me she wanted to go to Sweet Jill's Bakery for thier cinnamon rolls. After going to the strawberry festival we headed on over to long beach as we did not have anything sweet yet. Parking is kinda tough. You must drive around and find parking and hope someone is leaving a close parking spot rather than 2 blocks away. Which happened to us we found parking in a residential neighborhood and walked to Sweet Jill's Bakery. As we walk inside I read a sign that said "Cash Only" Boy I was lucky they had an amt since I was carrying just a card. There were a few customers in front of me and my friends. We were drawn into everything that was displayed. Such a huge variety of sweets to choose from other than the cinnamon rolls we originally came to get. I ended up getting a oreo cheesecake, strawberry parfait, 2 peanut butter and two chocolate chips cookies, bread pudding. I got something for everyone. First off, it's along the fame 2nd Street in Belmont shores where it's shopping and dining blocks after blocks. Right when you walk in, that whiff of sugars just gets to you. The right way of course. The glass counters with rows and rows of cakes and cookies. Even the glass window displays shows the fresh baked goods as you're walking by. Just a warning, it is CASH only which it's noted at the register. There's an atm nearby for your help. I picked up a few slices of cakes which is alway a must. They're normally in squares versus your normal slices. And a slice of their famous Cinnabon. Oh, they charge an additional fee if you want glaze on your bun. I think it's odd as you would normally already include it but what do I know...lol... Just add the fee into the slice to begin with. Service was great and all the staff were friendly. We purchased 4 different types of Cakes, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Snickerdoodle and a Napolean. The Cakes were HORRIFIC! Across the different "flavors" none of them had any taste. The texture of all of them was like dry cornbread with a chemical aftertaste. The Chocolate Chip Cookies had an Odd Flavor that no one could identify. I don't know how they are even in business. These are by far the worst baked goods we have ever tasted. We had a few people besides us test what we brought home and everyone hated the Cakes and Cookies. Be warned that it is pretty tiny in here and the line can get long and that is it CASH ONLY. I really had a hard time choosing here as the delightful desserts options are really endless. By the time I got to the end of the counter I had picked out a handful sweets I wanted but my stomach only had room for one (barely) so I settled on the German chocolate cake, a nostalgic favorite of mine that I hadn't had in quite some time. This is a great little bakery with plenty of baked goods to choose from. Judging by the steady stream of customers, everything must be good. That said, the only reason we come here is for the cinnamon roll (no nuts) with icing. It hits all the spots , warm, sweet, soft, buttery, sticky, and absolutely delicious. I should have asked for the icing on the side because it was just wayyy too sweet for my likings. It's cash only, parking in the area can be annoying. Sweet Jill's has been a Long Beach staple for as long as I can remember. I grew up coming here for treats as a kid and it always felt like pure sugary magic. So coming back as an adult, I was low key excited to relive that nostalgia. Me and my girl went full dessert mode after dinner and decided to load up we tried the Oreo brownie, cookie dough brownie, coffee cake, and a pumpkin cheesecake. Nothing was outright bad, but nothing really wowed us either. The pumpkin cheesecake was pretty bland, the cookie dough brownie was overly sweet in a not so great way, and while the Oreo brownie was definitely the best of the bunch it still wasn't something I'd come back specifically for. The coffee cake was solid but again, not memorable. Maybe we played ourselves by not going for their classic cinnamon rolls or maybe the bakery just doesn't hit like it used to.
