Inside of the jelly donut tender flavorful donut with standard jelly filling was delicious.

This shop closes early and I finally got a chance to visit and here's how that visit went. Broadway Donuts located on a busy street with minimal parking no worries for me I walked over with my dog Dylan Monroe as I attempted to enter I see a no dogs allowed sign I ask if it's ok to come inside because my baby is in a covered stroller she asks me if can I leave the stroller outside I promptly say NO!!! and they graciously allow me to enter. This 30 year old mom and pop donut shop holds no glamour or frills in the neighborhood but it's small clean and welcoming a bit warm inside but that's ok you're in and out very quickly. You're greeted by one of the owners Kim she seems to know everyone who enters the store she's a doll cute and kind her husband is in back he makes the grill orders and such. I ordered a ham egg and cheese croissant because of the high reviews and a few donuts. Ham egg and cheese croissant I warmed it up at home in my air fryer and let me tell you this was the best breakfast sandwich I have eaten in 2025 the croissant was tender and buttery the eggs where fluffy and fried to perfection and paired with the deli ham it was delicious this one is definitely a must try menu item. 10/10 Orange donut A fruity and tender cake donut with tiny bursts of orange flavor I loved it next time I'll enjoy it with an ice cold glass of almond milk. 9/10 Cinnamon donut. Tender and a bit dry not my favorite donut ironically because of the strong cinnamon taste but it's me the donut was fine occasionally I like to try this variety of cinnamon donut to see if I can find one that I actually like. 7/10 Glazed donut This donut was the bomb it was tender moist and flavorful and when I bit this bad boy I tasted notes of vanilla it was divine and is one of my all time favorite donuts. 10/10 Jelly donut Standard jelly filling was ok but the donut itself was the king it was tender and tasty just like the glazed donut that I loved. 9/10 They have quite a few donuts that I would love to try including drinks smoothies coffee and menu items I definitely will be back and recommend that you give them a try. The owners are Cambodian and I bonded with Kim over my love of the people and food she's very kind y'all and talkative just like me. ; ). Until next time friends and when you are in the area drive up the street to The Aquarium Shoreline Village or The Pike it's a nice place to visit. Just me Shawn C.

The litany of pre-made coffee options is enough to earn this place 5 stars. The nutty doodle coffee alone warrants a trip. Most all the other coffee blends or flavors have explanatory names like blueberry or hazelnut. The word "nutty" definitely gives one a hint, but "doodle" suggests that someone is about to be taken on a little ride of surprises. I've had a cup of nutty doodle. The nutty doodle-ness aligned my chakras, opened my 3rd eye, and reunited my being with the universe. So, worth a try, I'd argue. The donuts here are donuts. Straight up pink box sugar discs and choco bars. The staff here wastes no time, takes payment, and rushes the donut to the customer. All the donuts here are donuts. There is no way to even place a bad order here. Keep the show-business coming, Broadway!

Cute donut shop with the kindest owners. The donuts/pastries are delicious and great for sharing at work

Cute, clean, great variety, and delicious! Pink box never disappoints. Come here for the best donuts in Long Beach! The little lady behind the counter will take good care of you.

ONLY TAKES CASH AND DOES NOT HAVE AN ATM! I love living in Long Beach because it allows small local businesses to thrive without overcrowding. Donuts are my favorite food, even more than Brussels sprouts. My daily commute to work always passes Broadway Donuts, so I decided to try it. The majority of places only have street parking, so I parked on the street, which is not surprising. Less than 10 minutes are needed for the transition. Though the service wasn't the greatest, it wasn't the worst. I got my donuts, which were exactly what I wanted. It was impressive to say the least, the coffee bar had about 30 types of creamer, if you thought about it the flavors were there. I always try glazed rings and chocolate rings whenever I visit a new donut shop for the first time. The store itself was small and did not have much room, but it had a flow that allowed for an easy entrance and exit, as long as you didn't forget anything. The glazed donut was exceptionally well-balanced - not too sweet, not too cloying - and inviting enough to make you want more, and believe me I did. The chocolate donuts weren't my favorite, but that was more due to the top chocolate, which tasted almost burned. They did however land a classic, the glaze, so this place was worth a try.

Decided to try Broadway Donuts today, so.glad I did. They had a good selection of donuts, and a few choices in croissants in which I tried the Jalapeño, Hamann cheese, it was so good. My donut choice was the cinnamon roll, so soft, fresh and bursting with flavor. They have one of the most extensive coffee selections I've ever seen. Over a dozen in pump canisters, I tried the coconut, it was amazing. The parking is street parking only, the 7-11 across the way doesn't allow you to park in their lot, just a heads up. It is cash only so be prepared. The owners are very nice and very sweet, the welcome your business. I recommend supporting this little mom.and pop donut house, you won't be disappointed

We definitely had to make it out for the new pokemon ones since the new Winds and Waves game got announced. We placed a pickup order online a few days prior to secure our order. Lots of traffic and ended up taking 1.5 hrs to get there compared to our usual 45 minute transit. They provide a pickup time for you to choose as well so it worked out perfectly. We got there, parking lot is easy, a bit small but still handles a good amount of cars. We walked in and told the nice young lady our online order pickup name, also grabbed a few extra individual ones that were available at the time, and enjoyed!! Smooth and easy process, it was fantastic. Highly recommend!! We took it to an outdoor food spot to enjoy but also took the rest home to enjoy throughout the weekend. The doughnut texture is perfect and the flavors are wild and unique! I definitely preferred the more basic flavors like Strawberry (Ditto) and Salted Vanilla (Staryu) but the other flavors were still fun to try! They were almost too cute to eat lol. Love this place, definitely more on the expensive side (maybe like $40 total) but worth it!! Can't wait to come back for their other collabs!! IG: @ammysalamii

A very welcoming vibe upon entry, we were greeted by a friendly couple who answered our questions about popular drink flavors. Tons of board games, books and wonderfully mellow music helps make the experience feel comforting and inviting. Our drinks were prepared quickly and shouted at the coffee bar for pickup. The presentation was great, but the flavors, out of this world! The Cinnamon Dulce Latte was OUTSTANDING. So good, in fact, that my girlfriend stole it from me! Not to worry, her Blueberry Lavender Latte was also top-notch, with a smooth, not-to-sweet flavor combination. Friendly staff (which comes with occasional karaoke renditions from the Bluetooth speakers), a chill vibe and outstanding drinks make this a top spot in the area for hardcore coffee lovers. I honestly have to say these were some of the best donuts I've ever had. The texture was incredible. The outside had this light, delicate crunch while the inside stayed soft and fresh. The chocolate glaze had excellent flavor and wasn't overly sweet or artificial tasting like a lot of donut shops. I also ordered the PB&J donut and happily waited in the parking lot for about 20 minutes while they made it fresh. Completely worth the wait. Everything tasted fresh, balanced, and really well made. Overall, easily a 9.5/10 for me. Definitely coming back.

At Long Beach's Sweet Retreat Donuts, that meant limited-edition experimental donut varieties (mostly with tropical flavor profiles), as well as a reliable vegan donut lineup. Clearly, Sweet Retreat has been doing something right, as it's been a Pacific Coast Highway favorite for a decade. Over the years, it has garnered recognition from plenty of local news outlets, from Eater LA to LAist. The cramped strip mall is more eye-catching for its reptile supply store rather than its donut shop. Inside the shop, the expansive, donut-themed cartoon mural to the right immediately makes a statement. Houseplants are plentiful across the otherwise undecorated, whitewashed walls. Donuts are organized on trays by price, with the charge doodled directly onto the glass with a white marker. Ambient noise from the television is drowned out by chattering customers and the buzzing coffee machine. During the summer months, the AC-less shop feels tropically balmy. My partner and I arrived at Sweet Retreat late one Sunday morning, and the shop still boasted a steady stream of customers. By the time of our visit, the remaining selection was regrettably slim -- beyond the standard fare, the most unique donuts sported either candy coating or tropical frosting. We opted for a hibiscus-frosted raised donut and an apple fritter. The former had an excellent donut base, and the hibiscus frosting was floral and tropical (albiet I would have enjoyed a more punchy flavor). Meanwhile, the apple fritter fell on the cinnamon-y side, heavily doused in glaze so that each bite (even the edges) melted in your mouth; Sweet Retreat's rendition was one of my favorites in Greater LA. Our Vietnamese iced coffee was strong and sugary, but nothing more memorable than peer coffeeshops. The service was efficient, and our two donuts cost a reasonable $5 (even frill-free mom-and-pop shops charge in this range nowadays). The selection was sorely lacking, but Sweet Retreat more than made up for that with its high quality and reasonable prices. This bakery may not warrant a dedicated trip out of the way, but it is sure to deliver a satisfying treat if you're already in the neighborhood.

As I entered the parking lot I witnessed a lady hanging out of the window of a car missing a rear bumper, cursing at a minivan that looked like it had recently been involved in a series of hit-and-run crimes. I'm unclear what occurred before I got there, but kept my head down and quickly parked and scurried inside. The entrance had cardboard on the ground laid out like some sort of Oscar the Grouch red carpet. There were two people sitting at the middle two tables with portable shopping carts filled with assorted belongings. The interior matched the rest of neighborhood with random stuff laid out on counter tops, and a general dirty feeling that made me consider whether I wanted to buy food here, but I was already inside. There was a single woman working the counter. She was polite and matter of fact. I had promised my kids donuts, so I ordered my box to go. While she used appropriate tongs to put them in the box, she didn't bother to fully close or seal the box. Just looking to get out of there as quickly as possible, I headed immediately back to my car but was followed by an unknown man shouting at me asking if I could spare a dollar. I quickly fidgeted for my keys and pulled the door closed and locked it behind me. This was at 9am. I cannot imagine this place late at night. The donuts were basic and not overly sweet, more of a fried bread. My kids ate a few bites of each but it wasn't worth the stress of getting them.
