Came here for the scone. I loved them when I tried them at a local coffee shop that mentioned they are from this location. I have to say they are the best scones I have ever tried 10/10. I also got a red velvet cake that is $7.25 and it's a 8/10. ... I've had better red velvet cake. Service was ok. We had to wait 10 min for the cashier to finish a conversation on the phone with a costumer that ... honestly ended up with just email us for a quote. Parking is ample, since there's plenty of room in the strip mall. But beware of the traffic in the lot since it's difficult to see other drivers in some spots. Briana was our server and she did a great job at recommendations and was quick with a smile. My choice was the Fruit Tart, my GF had a Scone, and we got a box of Macaroons for a birthday party. Everything was fresh and delicious, reasonably priced, and the (pandemic suppressed) service was delightful. There's several places to eat in the Stonecreek plaza, just be sure to come here for dessert. Well recommended, we will return. read more

One of my favorite bakeries in Orange County! Their cakes and pastries are all wonderful. I'm especially a fan of their red velvet cake (the best I've had) and their almond croissants, which are a perfect mix of almond and flaky croissant. The bread pudding, club sandwich, brownies, and iced teas are also quite good here. The red velvet cake is truly the standout here though. Before trying theirs, I absolutely hated cake because it was always too dry. So when I tried their red velvet cake, it blew my mind. They no longer sell many of the cakes or shortcrust pastries they were known for; they have switched from their signature rectangular layer cakes to Milk Bar-style ones with no frosting on the side, and they are consistently stale. The interior has also been renovated to a very sterile style that doesn't make customers want to stick around. I found this cute little place from my off the menu app. I was able to redeem a strawberry cream puff which was valued at $6.25. My BF got an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. First off, the strawberry cream puff was amazing. It wasn't too sweet and had just the right ratio of filling. Cream puffs are not my favorite but this one was really good. The oatmeal chocolate chip cookie was very yummy! It was chewy and had a soft texture loaded with tons of chocolate chips. Even though it was $3.15. It was a big cookie and worth it. My parents used to buy me a red velvet cake from here for my birthday every year. Today my Mom and I bought a slice of red velvet cake for old times sake. We were quite disappointed as the cake slice was really dry and was definitely not worth the $7. Service was prompt and the server was friendly. The quality has changed and the 6" celebration cake ($38) for my daughter's birthday went mostly in the trash (98.5% of it or $37.43 worth of cake) because it was dry and crumbly (tasted like it was refrigerated for days without proper covering) and it wasn't even remotely sweet. Went here for a same-day baby shower cake. Got there close to opening on a Sunday and there were only 3 options in the larger cake size but they were the most popular flavors. Chose the lemon raspberry flavor combo since it had a nice custom look to the icing and they were able to write a message on it for me. The cake presented beautifully and the layers themselves were delicious. The only downside - the icing was very thick and essentially tasteless. It kept the cake fresh and moist inside but everyone left it behind on their plates. Not a cheap cake spot by any means - but provides presentable and good quality cakes in a pinch or for custom order. I order between 3-5 cakes here annually and have been doing so for about a decade now. Their red velvet is my family's favorite as it's never too sweet, the cake is never too dry, and it's never too overstuffed with cream. We've tried other types such as the German chocolate cake and most recently the hazelnut cake (my new favorite!) The smallest cake is a bit pricey for the size. I was a little disappointed as the most recent one wasn't decorated when I arrived at the pre-ordered pick up time. They decorated and wrote on the cake when I arrived, and it was supposed to be "Happy Birthday Dad" as written on the form and discussed in person when I arrived. They ended up accidentally leaving Dad out and did ask me if that was OK, but at that point I was in a time bind and there wasn't much that could be done anyway. OMG! LCB is my daily Sunday getaway for the best omelette, hash browns, and sourdough toast breakfast in town.....then, my biggest fear appeared before me when I went in this morning and was told that they had removed all omelettes, hash browns, and sourdough toast from their menus!!! *Gasp*....!!! OH NO! Is this really true? Did this really happen to me? Am I still asleep and still dreaming this awful dream?! No, it's for real. The owner confirmed it and said that this was being planned since over a year ago....gosh, you could guys could have at least given me the heads up so that I could gradually ease into my new life devoid of my regular Sunday California omelette and hash browns! But alas! There was a couple in front of me who were also there for their omelette breakfasts, but were told that they were no more. I could literally see the excitement and anticipation of an awesome omelette breakfast turn into a kind of sadness and disappointment, as though just told that that their favorite doggy had passed. Scouring through the new menu, I tried to find something that really piqued my gastronomical interest, but nothing really seemed to compare to my usual. I finally decided on the French Toast, which I had seen many people order in the past, but never tried it myself......well, so I thought. It seems the French Toast recipe changed too......instead of stacks of French toast, it's now like a sweet mascarpone sandwich.....didn't feel or taste like a breakfast.....much more like a dessert. Don't get me wrong, it tasted good...perhaps a bit sweet for my taste, but it's just not breakfastsy (yes, I know there's no such word). But wait! There's still hope! Before I left, I had a chat with one of the servers, and she informed me that the owner had heard the plight of the disappointed couple before me, and told her that they will now consider bringing back the omelettes, hash browns, and sourdough toast! YAAAAAY! I was SO ecstatic to hear that!....and really hope they do! Yes, I know most ingredients have gotten prohibitively expensive with the California inflation and all, but you don't mess with the things you are so good at! I think that most of us who want really great quality food have no choice, but to pay for it.... and I am most willing and happy to pay for such an excellent and yummy breakfast! Gosh, it's like going to McDonald's and being told that they replaced their French fries with carrot sticks! Gasp!!!....can you imagine MickyD's asking customers....."would you like to biggie size those carrot sticks?!" Yikes! I truly don't like putting bad reviews for small business, even less during Covid it I was taken for a foul by this place. I usually get all my cakes from the same spot in DTLA, but the place was closed and I recently moved to OC. It was my friend 30th birthday and I wanted a cute, good tasting chocolate cake with a printed picture of her on top of it. A simple cute and original birthday cake. When I went to pick up the cake, I was in shock, horrify by what I was seeing and I almost cried. I asked the person if this was some kind of joke, and after her saying no, I asked if she could fix it somehow or make it prettier. She said "no sorry". They basically took one of their basic $36 cake that they sell all the time and put a picture on top of it. Cutting it badly, could even center it and add NO finishes, decorations etc.. and charges me $60 for it. I was so ashamed of it, that I ended up ordering cute cupcake to my friend surprise birthday. You can see the picture for yourself. This bakery posted all nice picture on their website and IG but clearly it's not their creation because no professional will let a cake be presented to ANYONE like that (both of my parent are chefs in France..) On top of everything, before posting the review I emailed the owner to let her know about my disappointment, embarrassment and I got absolutely I answer. You would think for $70 they would use more than 2 tiny strawberries to decorate your cake and use actual edible flowers instead of cheap plastic flowers which I'm sure are not intended or toxic free for food decoration (see photo below). I told them they should be VERY CLEAR that the flowers are fake. I don't think we'll order from here again. I was looking for tres leches cake and found this place on yelp. The ordering process was easy and quick. I preordered my cake and paid online. ($49) The appearance of the cake was simple. It was a basic white outside and chocolate letters that said "happy birthday". I read several reviews saying the tres leches was good so I ordered it. Tres leches cake is usually moist (cuz it's soaked in milk) but this cake was not. I felt like most of the cake was dry. The top half of the cake tasted like tres leches but the rest tasted like dry white cake. I'd come back and try the other cakes but I probably won't get the tres leches cake again. read more

I really wanted this place to work out. Don't be fooled by the outside beauty of their cakes. Because the inside -- is disappointing. My journey with LCB first started on a high -- about 2 months ago before their remodel, I thought I had found the best cake I have ever had - their strawberry delight. It was a whipped cream frosting, with white chocolate shaving on the outside, a creamy custard with strawberry jam on the inside. Super moist and it was delicious. Then they went into remodel and closed for a few weeks...which only built up my desire to have that strawberry delight again. I couldn't wait for the bakery to reopen. I would call almost every other day asking for this cake. Finally, one day they said it was available. I went in and although the cake looked different, the cashier assured me it was the same strawberry delight as before, just redesigned. It no longer had white chocolate shavings but was assured it is the same thing. I bought a whole cake for almost $45 after taxes. Had the cake for a party and EVERYONE commented on how DRY the cake was. It was not the same cake that I had before...hardly any custard inside, no white chocolate flavor, and most importantly -- the sponge tasted like gritty paper. It was so bad and and so STODGY, I threw our 3/4 of the Cake. Please bring back your old method of strawberry delight. I called to complain to the manager on 7/9 and he didn't even apologize. All he said was that they redesigned the cake and switched from angel cake to sponge cake. He said he would transfer this feedback to the owner. Very disappointed in this place charging $50 for a dry, stodgy cake with no flavor to the sponge. Please do better... read more

Came here to pick up a couple desserts and to give this place another chance. I got a strawberry cream cupcake and a blueberry almond tart to go. The cashier told me something while I paid, but I'm not exactly sure what she said because she talked kinda soft and the music inside was loud. I think she said something a long the lines of eat these today or eat them as soon as possible. Which I normally do anyways. I got home and ate the cupcake as a snack. It was pretty good. The frosting on top was buttery and the cream in the middle was rich. I wish there was a little more strawberry or acid in it because it was pretty rich overall. The cupcake itself was good. It almost tasted like a sweet corn bread, I liked it. After dinner I had the almond tart. It was really good. I really enjoyed it. I loved the blueberries and whipped cream. The blueberries were slightly tart and the whipped cream was light and delicious. The crust was crumbly but kept together well. I liked the surprise blueberry filling in the crust. Order placed, deposit paid and pick up all went super smooth. Liz sent me photos of the cake before I was to pick it up and it was decorated as we discussed and look awesome. Picked up a birthday cake for my sister here and while aesthetically beautiful, texture-wise it wasn't that pleasing. When debating between the cakes on the display we were choosing between the dulce de leche and the strawberry delight. Upon the staff member's recommendation we opted for the Strawberry Delight. Unfortunately, it was quite dry. I wanted to love it more, but alas I wish it was moist. This place is just next to our favorite noodle house so we come here to get a dessert after and today I walk in behind someone who was picking up cakes. It took forever for the worker to find boxes, then someone walks in after my family, for a pickup, but the worker stops in the middle of finding cake boxes to pack a bunch of macaroons for the customer behind me. The only reason I gave this a star is at least I was offered sparkling water. In order to improve lcb needs the following: 1. Calibrate espresso machine 2.
