King Taco is my wife's and my favorite OG street style taco chain - but originally we'd stop at downtown Lincoln or Boyle Heights downtown East LA after Ktown night out for a nightcap of tacos! This Long Beach location is closest to us at home though and doesn't disappoint! Sopas, tamales, tacos, or burritos you can't go wrong here. We like simple tacos, carne asada or any type of- the onion and cilantro mix piled high - both green and red chili on the side and added equally for me. Always hits the spot! Came here late, about 11pm on a Friday. It wasn't too packed, but not many ppl were working. Took about 15-20 mins to get our food, this is what we ordered: 2 meat nachos, 1 all meat burrito, 3 asada tacos, 3 Pollo tacos, 2 horchatas We spent about $50, no biggie. It's delicious. However, we noticed they tried to skimp us on the sauces. 4 sauces for all that food.. umm no. My husband told the man, "we got 5 entrees, that's not even enough for 1 sauce each meal." Our King Taco is the Fontana or Ontario, and they never give us a hard time about the sauces. Anyway, so beware of that, ask for more. I will say the restrooms were really clean and their toilet paper is really soft. I would avoid this King Taco next time. But that is only because we love our shit spicy, and 1 sauce isn't enough. Oh, and their chicken tacos are different here. They have onions, tomatoes, and something else cooked with them. They taste almost like caldo de Pollo. If you have picky children, they may not like it. Mine didn't. That's not what he's used to: plain chicken. But yes, this is what he always orders here, just not this spot.. maybe the menu changed, and we weren't aware. read more

Waiting for your food takes almost 30 minutes. Unless you want to wait then go for it. Also they change the recipe because the taste wasn't there. Has no spice or flavor they need to go back to it. read more

I absolutely love King taco but I usually go to the one in Pomona. Did an online order so didn't use the ordering platform until I saw that I had enough points to get some free nachos so I followed with the app said hit redeem points and go up to the register. The lady told me you have no points I said I use them to hit redeem. It shows I have a gift I show you you hit redeem she so we can be in Spanish told her I don't speak. Spanish kept doing so instead started treating me like like poop laughing at me called the other worker over I kept showing her look it shows I have a gift you hit redeem gift on your end using my phone number she won't listen called the manager over the manager, simply said no points by I said listen lady it shows I have a gift you hit gift to redeem. She was so rude. I said I'm not leaving now now I'm gonna hold my ground. This is now at a principal that because I'm white, you guys are doing this to me you're all speaking in Spanish and talking smack and a group of you now is crowded around the cash register because I'm trying to redeem free nachos.. the manager has to call to get help. She didn't see his. I am absolutely correct and all she needed to do was hit redeem gift and says oh you do have gift. You already picked it up. I said oh my God you just said I don't have a free gift. How did I pick up something that you just said I didn't have.. so I finally have my nachos after a huge debacle. Sorry, but those who say racism only goes one way or so terribly wrong. Slightly stingy on salsa, but generous with the portions and taste! I was introduced to King Taco almost a decade ago and the food continues to stay consistent and is still a great way to satisfy a burrito craving. The all meat carne asada burrito with green salsa is my go-to menu item, and it is loaded with heaping scoops of asada and held together with a lightly skillet fried tortilla. The burrito comes with only 1 salsa, which kind of makes the salsa feel scarce and more appreciated but also makes me feel a bit annoyed with how cheap a restaurant can be with their condiments. However, it doesn't steer me away from coming back as the location is easy to get to with plenty of parking and a spacious dining area. I also tried the nachos with cheese and asada, which is essentially the same nachos you would find in a movie theater (with the thick fake cheese) which had a surprising amount of asada added on top (for only 1 dollar more compared to just chips and cheese). For the nachos, they allowed up to 2 salsas but I opted for 1 salsa with a small portion of jalapeno/pickled veggie mix. Bathrooms are well maintained, the restaurant itself was very clean, and bonus points for having high chairs available for babies! read more

I went in today to purchase some food. Transaction went through on my behalf, but being that they didn't get a receipt printed they were not able to process my order. The cashiers customer service was good. The only thing that bothers me is that it's a small order and they could've accommodated the customer. I'd understand if it was a big order. They provided me with their managers, phone number. I proceeded to call the manager and he was unable to process the order. I will not be coming back here and I do not recommend coming here if you do bring cash because they seem to have a problem with their debit machine often it's not the first time I see them having issues like that. read more

One of the better taco spots I've been to; their hot sauces are perfect complements to the tacos. My favorites were the lengua and carne asada tacos. Didn't care much for the al pastor here. Also tried a suadero taco for the first time-- decent but nothing to rave about. read more

Good food , but bad communication skill from cashier ! She kept asking over and over , what what what . Very annoying. Also I ordered 2 horchatas and when I asked where's the horchata she motioned off to the side . Then she tried to confront me and say I only paid for one and actually put her hands over one of the horchatas . I showed her the receipt and she finally relented and surrendered the horchata . Well, I think we're gonna give up on King taco we went there on Saturday to buy some tacos and oh my God the worst Al pastor tacos they could ever make they were greasy the meat was no cooked correctly it seemed like it wasn't cooked enough tons of onion's in our tacos little meat and it was tasteless My wife did not eat her tacos this time she took a bite and spit the rest out of her mouth.! we've been going to king taco for years and this at the Lakewood location Lakewood and I believe Bellflower. But it just seems like they just cannot get it together. One day. Their tacos are good. Another three days. Their tacos are horrible. My wife finally said we are giving up on them we usually we go to the one in pico Rivera, which is a little bit better but I think finally we're gonna quit ordering those tacos because it's a hit and miss now they used to be great but they just keep dropping the ball.,,, that's not gonna work for us they give us bad food we are not coming back. read more

Been here maybe twice since it's a convenient location. Food - Tacos and burritos here are the most basic tacos you will get with no special sauce or ingredients. Meat is decent but nothing that's a wow compared to most Mexican restaurants. Service - it's decent. Parking - sucks getting in or out with tight parking spots. I like getting the lengua tacos and al pastor burrito. if you want reasonably priced my skin food, for good quality, definitely we go here. There is plenty of seating, and you can get your food pretty quick after your order. I also really love the Horchata. Best Tacos in out side of Mexico! Everything is good here. But Suggest the tacos. The tacos test best with everything on it. Take out some of the ingredients, it not the same. Service is fast pace, so don't expect outrageous family friendly service. The employees are working hard and doing their best to provide the fastest service possible. I grew up on King Taco. I lived on Roseview Ave as a kid just houses away from the original King Taco #1. I don't know if the quality changes from location to location but the LB spot is terrible. The quality and taste of their food is nothing like what I remember. I've tried other locations like Bellflower, Pasadena, the spot on Olympic and those locations are better than this specific store in Long Beach. Save your money and hit up the pop up taco stand on Clark and Atherton in LB. read more

Seeing people going in and out which I knew it was a restaurant. Last night we started off with drinks at the speakeasy next door. The two places share restrooms and that's how I found out about this place. Let me say it was a vibe. The first thing you notice from the back, the bar area and Photo Booth. And the live DJ keeping the place on its feet. We ended up wanted to check it out as it was a full restaurant and bar. Friday night without a reservation, spoke with hostess which they could accommodate 6 of us in a bit. Still had to close out at the other place before. The restaurant has a cool vibe with the main dining area in front, bar area towards the back side and on the opposite site is where the DJ booth was. Sam was our waitress who took very good care of us. Very sweet, friendly and of course attentive. Made sure that we were well taken cared of and if anything was needed she was there. It's a cool Mexican restaurant with a cool vibe to match. The place did get lively and was pretty full. You had parties up and dancing and enjoying themselves. Anyway, food and drinks. Started off with some spicy margaritas. Wow, they were strong but good. You had to sip versus drink... lol... Bartender was not playing and in a good way. The menu is somewhat limited compared to other restaurants but what was offered all looked amazing. A modern twist to Mexican food but still with the amazing authentic flavors. Instead of a meal we opted for à la carte and shared everything. Also was informed that the dishes are like tapas and great for sharing. Chips and salsa were brought out which both the chips and salsa were excellent. An order or the aguachille which had that nice sour taste with the lime juice perfectly balanced for the shrimp and trimmings. Served with tostada. The shrimp ceviche, another wonderful dish. Nicely marinaded in the lime juice was very flavorful and also served with tostada. An order of the enchiladas, came with three but we split it for 6 of us. The cheese and filling was very good. The molcajete served in a volcanic bowl stuffed with different meat, cactus, cheese all combined to create an amazing dish full of flavors. A must have and lastly the adobado hamachi collar, yellowtail. Very tasty but did have a fishy taste. Yes it's fish but still. Quite tasty and plentiful. Overall food and vibe was great. The place was definitely lively in the evening. We can finally say we've been and tried some amazing dish. It's a place that worth coming back for more. Parking is a little crazy as residential is always packed. There's a lot across the street which they do utilize but it's can be a bit crowded as well.

I was actually craving some since it's been likely over a year since we last visited. The hubby had 2 tacos plates. The birria was very good, the asaea delicious but very rich. I've never been a fan of black beans but these were tasty. My Tlayuada hit the spot and chase it down with a Penelope. When we arrived we were the only ones there. The server was attentive and check on us throughout our visit. Engaging and friendly. The interiors are cost and warm with plants and green as the main color. Nice murals throughout.
