Rose matcha tea- so good and so pretty
    Yassi G.

The matcha is pretty good here. I got fancy and tried their summer special: matcha mango - but without the syrup cuz I don't like my drinks too sweet. The mango cold foam was sweet enough and delicious. Not pictured is the vegetarian breakfast burrito I got , came with salsa verde (love that)- so filling and tasty. It was perfectly soft and crispy at the same time. Very cute small shop, big beautiful windows, and they had some outdoor seating as well. Only street parking mostly metered.

I placed a pick up order for 8:15 am and upon entering the establishment, the person at the register didn't say anything when I went up to the counter. He just had a blank stare and I started the conversation by saying goodmorning. Blank stare. I told him my name and that I placed my order online. Blank stare again and he walked away and came back to hand my drink and the only words I heard during this very awkward interaction was "here you go" and thats it. The Carrot Cake Latte was nothing special and the flavors clash with the weak espresso taste. I don't think I could justify the price and lack of service to return.

Cute little coffee shop on a corner, plenty of street parking and seating inside and outside. Neither drinks were really strong a little bit on the sweeter side. Drinks were out really quickly and service was quick too. It's worth another visit !

I tried their cappuccino and enjoyed sitting inside the cafe. They use a blend of a light roast espresso. While it's a nice cup of cap, it's very smooth taste of espresso while I like mine to be more espresso forward cap. Breakfast options, sandwiches and pastries available Service was friendly and quick. Ambiance is nice inside and out. They also have coffee making accessories available for sale as well as candles and tea.

Drinks were so yummy! The girls were so sweet and the service was very fast! The shop was not too busy, we got to sit and chat a bit inside before leaving! Cozy waiting/seating area!

Bacon, egg, cheddar, biscuit. Fresh amazing biscuit.

The biscuit is homemade and absolutely amazing. I got mine with scrambled egg instead of over easy. I told the young lady that I like mocha and sweet. She recommended strawberry cold foam, and then little less sweetener in the white mocha. It still had that great coffee taste, a little sweet, and then that hint of fresh strawberry. It was so absolutely amazing, I ordered another one for the road on my travels.

Gave this place a try and it was pretty okay. It's a nice quaint little coffee shop! The staff were really nice. Theres some seating inside and outside! I got the carrot cake latte, which was actually very delicious! The coffee tasted smooth and the cream cheese cold foam was sooooo good! We also got a matcha with sugar free vanilla syrup, but it was kind of disappointing. Maybe it was an off day, but it tasted sort of sour and a bit weird.

At the corner of 4th & Elm, you'll find a wonderful coffee joint where you can feel right at home. Pretty fast service that comes with a smile. Great indoor vibes, but it's even better outside to people watch the very vibrant and diverse community in this part of DTLB. I enjoyed my pistachio latte. Their other menu items look and smells amazing. Definitely worth coming back!

I found this place on Yelp and was so excited to try! I seem good reviews here and on TikTok. My sister and I finally got around to trying it. It's a quaint coffee shop in the heart of downtown Long Beach. I was lucky to find street parking. Upon arrival, I wasn't impressed or disappointed. Everything was pretty standard. They had a regular menu and limited time or seasonal menu. The service was sub par. Kind of dry but they were kinda busy. I ordered two drinks, the smores and brown butter or sugar one. The smores had more flavor (I asked for extra sweet on both) the browned butter one was nothing spectacular. They were smooth but didn't have a strong coffee profile. I don't think it was good enough to go back but I can see why the locals enjoy it.

Great vibes, solid coffee, & solid breakfast sandwich. Friendly service! The breakfast sandwich was the star! The brioche bun, sweet & spicy jam, bacon, egg, tomato , greens, and red onion all came together perfectly!!

Camp fire latte (?) It had a SINGLE melted marshmallow.

If you weren't looking hard enough, you can easily miss this place. I dont know if it play on word in part that "Hideout" is a part of their name or it just happens to be that difficult to find. Just be aware. Customer service is great. The pastries looked fresh. The interior looked clean. The coffee... it was okay. I can say it won't be my go-to place for coffee considering how competitive coffee is in Long Beach, but I would still say to check them out.

    Honey Pistachio Latte
    Peter M.

Passed by this spot and looked decent enough- and glad I did. Honey pistachio latte was very tasty with a nice balance of sweet without losing the coffee taste. From what I could tell the food looked tasty, but didn't order this time. Was oddly warm inside so opted for to-go

I came in for their Winter Series! I ordered their Matcha Grinch Latte drink (not sure if that was the name since it was handwritten and not on the printed out menu.) My friend got the campfire latte, and while I don't drink coffee, I can confidently say that this place does not serve good matcha. It tasted closer to chocolate milk than actual matcha. I'm sure they have better drinks, but for anyone else, stay away from the matcha if you want to save your 7 dollars. Parking is limited but the interior more than makes up for the drinks, it's got outlets, and plenty of tables for college students, but I can see it being busy during finals.

A very welcoming vibe upon entry, we were greeted by a friendly couple who answered our questions about popular drink flavors. We decided to go with a Hot Cinnamon Dulce Latte and an Iced Blueberry Lavender Latte. While waiting, there were plenty of chairs, tables, a comfy couch and even a bar area to sit and relax. Tons of board games, books and wonderfully mellow music helps make the experience feel comforting and inviting. Our drinks were prepared quickly and shouted at the coffee bar for pickup. The presentation was great, but the flavors, out of this world! The Cinnamon Dulce Latte was OUTSTANDING. So good, in fact, that my girlfriend stole it from me! Not to worry, her Blueberry Lavender Latte was also top-notch, with a smooth, not-to-sweet flavor combination. Friendly staff (which comes with occasional karaoke renditions from the Bluetooth speakers), a chill vibe and outstanding drinks make this a top spot in the area for hardcore coffee lovers. Check them out!

I started with a cup of their beef and barley soup. My wife and I both make this at home from scratch and we're both impressed by theirs. My wife took a taste of mine and instantly ordered her own. Very rich and flavorful. I kept looking at photos of their take on chicken and waffles and knew I had to try it. Seriously epic and was good as it looked. They coated the chicken in a chili rub that gave it a sweet and spicy flavor when paired with their maple syrup. Served on top of a waffle and topped with an egg. I loved it and would probably order again on my next visit. My wife had the American plate which was your classic eggs, bacon, potatoes, and sourdough toast combo. High quality ingredients elevated it beyond your typical diner food. Drinks were great too. I had their house made bloody mary which had a nice kick to it. My wife had their brunch version of a Corpse Reviver cocktail. After our meals were done we finished with an Irish coffee since everyone was ordering them. I stopped in for a coffee and a side of bacon, and my total was almost $20. For such a simple order, that's hard to justify. I understand food costs have increased, but the pricing feels excessive compared to other local restaurants that serve quality food at much more reasonable prices. My biggest concern, however, is the impact the business has had on our neighborhood. Since Zuzu's Petals opened, we've noticed a significant increase in litter, much of it appearing to be food and drink packaging from the restaurant. Weekend traffic on the sidewalks has become overwhelming, customers often park in alleyways or in unsafe locations, and it has made our neighborhood much more difficult to navigate. We brought these concerns to an employee, but were told there wasn't much they could do. If this business truly wants to be part of the community, I hope they take more responsibility for the impact they're having on the surrounding neighborhood. Encouraging customers to park responsibly, helping keep the area clean, and offering more reasonably priced menu options would go a long way toward building goodwill with the people who actually live here. I always want local businesses to succeed, but right now I can't recommend Zuzu's Petals based on both my experience and the ongoing issues it's created for nearby residents. Also beach cleaning isn't cleaning our neighborhood. That's no support to our neighborhood. Maybe have a neighborhood clean up day instead.

The menu has a ton of really detailed options, each drink with its own depth. The menu changes seasonally but what doesn't change is the smoked old fashioned - a must-order. They smoke your drink in a glass container using applewood chips; it's quite a show and it also does make the drink much more enjoyable. Ask the bartender and they can also help guide you to a drink - I've done it a couple of times and always pleasantly surprised. Next up, the food! The hummus was very flavorful and paired with an amazing fluffy pita bread. The truffle fries were solid but the plate was HUGE, definitely needs a friend to share. The Nashville wings are the star of the show. I cannot stress this enough, this is worth a DRIVE for. The seasoning really does remind you of Howlin' Rays (the highest compliment) and the chicken is extremely crispy yet insanely juicy. The pickles and ranch that it comes with pairs so well. Do note that they are tossing it in pork fat, which enhances the depth but also makes it a little greasy at the end. I also wished they'd warn you this and offer to order it without it; especially for those who don't eat pork or for those trying to cut some calories. There's a happy hour menu too!!! So you can get drinks and food even cheaper. I cannot stop thinking about this place. It's such a sleeper. Head to Midnight Oil after a visit to continue your night.

One thing I would call out is to double-check that your drink is made with the alcohol you requested. I asked for a specific brand in my jalapeño margarita, and the bartender used the one I had specifically said I didn't want (Casa Amigos). I watched him make it and had to ask our server to confirm what was in the drink. To their credit, they remade it with no issues, but it's worth paying attention if you're particular about your spirits. The staff was friendly and welcoming each time I stopped in, and while service ran a bit on the slower side at moments, they stayed attentive enough that it never felt like a real issue.
