Very good experience with GMS. Chris, Piter, and Valijon showed up on time, on a rainy day, and were 'fairly' efficient at getting things loaded up and out the door. I give them a 7/10 for the packing side, simply because it seemed like there was an hour or so there that not much happened.... I give them a 9/10 for unloading - into a 4 story townhouse with some tight staircases, there were only 2-3 small scratches and everything was put into its proper place. The crew was very friendly; we took a 30min pause for pizza that I had gotten for everyone. Didn't give them 5 stars total for 2 reasons: 1. I believe that I ended up getting charged an extra hour to hour and a half... yes, they were present for the amount of time that I was charged for, but that included the pizza break, the unknown time I mentioned during the packup side of things, and at the end, I was upstairs with my parents and didn't hear anything being done for a good 30+min; 2. I had a coupon in my papers that I had told them at booking and confirmation, but with everything moving, I didn't get it out until after they were gone. In the end, I can't complain too loudly and would use them again... especially Chris, the team leader. Although I do believe I got charged about 150$ more than I should have. Next time, I will be even more diligent about keeping them efficient on a job I estimated would take 4, maybe 5 hours and took 6. read more

I would highly recommend this moving company. I've have terrible experiences with moving companies in the past so I was definitely nervous trying another one but they showed up within the time frame, were fast, courteous, and respectful of my belongings. read more

This guys were awesome !!! They were friendly, fast, efficient, careful, and just a really great group of people to work with when you're moving your most prized possessions. They disassemble and reassemble my bed and dining room table. I would highly recommend them to anyone and plan to use them for my next relocation !!! I can't say enough about how great this company is. Oh, and you can't find a better price. I shopped around before deciding on GMS. I moved from a second floor (with a brutal spiral staircase) to a third floor apartment on one of the coldest days of the year. Truly amazing group of guys-smiles on their faces the entire time! read more

Global Moving Systems just completed my moving today and the three guys that performed the work were absolutely phenomenal. They were the best movers that I have ever experienced. In the last 12 years I have moved every 2 years and I have hired several well-known moving companies such as JK Movers, Relocation Systems, Craig Van Lines, Allied, and Bekin and I have never experienced the exceptional level of service that I experienced with the movers who moved me today. They were very careful with how they transported my belongings, even when the contract stipulates that they will not be responsible for damage to furniture or belongings, the moving professionals took great care of making sure that my furniture was moved carefully. They had an amazing attitude, exuded a high degree of professionalism and were very, very kind. I do not normally write reviews for moving companies regardless of whether my experience is unfavorable or positive, but I wanted to provide my feedback to other potential movers to consider using Global Moving Systems for their next move. The three moving professionals gave me assurance that the owners and the management team of the company have to believe in delivering exceptional and outstanding services to its clients as their employees definitely reflected a very positive impression on the fact that the owners/management of the company have to do a great job running the business. Lastly, these guys were so phenomal that as I was driving to take care of errands, I literally forgot that I had just moved. Thanks so much Global Moving Systems for being a great moving company. You put many businesses to shame regardless of their industry. Thanks again. Shaunte' read more

Global Moving was excellent. We recently sold our home that we lived in for more than 20 years. Scheduling and getting a quote was so easy. There were no hidden charges the initial quote was exactly what we paid. Nagi and his crew were awesome. They showed up on time and worked nonstop without any complaints. We had two stops, one to our temporary house and the other to the storage place. Both moves were perfect. We will definitely be calling Global Moving for our next move. We highly recommend Global Moving to anyone who wants the job done right!! read more

5 Stars, no question. Super prompt response from Stefan. The moving crew knew what they were doing AND they were polite and very friendly. Cost quoted was spot on. I definitely recommend this company. read more

I have moved a lot in my life and this was the BEST movers experience by far. I moved ACROSS STATES- from Maryland to Ohio....and the team did a great job. Eric Thomas and Chris did the pick up VERY efficiently in less than 4 hours with TWO stops.....and Chris and Vova delivered it in Ohio two days later, as scheduled. Logistics was executed to perfection by them....from packing fragile materials, furniture, etc and they all were very cooperative and easy to work with throughout the process. I HIGHLY recommend global moving systems for cross state moves as well as within the same state. You will NOT be disappointed! Thanks also to Eugene for doing the estimate and being very prompt on communications and overall, giving us a GREAT deal for state to state move. THANKS! read more

Just finished moving our 2 bedroom th into a relocube today. These guys were very friendly, nice and generous. They work very fast too even if it was snowing. And they called ahead to let us know they're close by already so we can get ready. They wrapped our couch pretty nicely and also helped us packed some of our stuff. Their price is one of the affordable ones around and i did asked around. Great job guys! read more

Absolutely amazing! I had a really complicated and difficult move and the team Global Moving Systems sent me handled it flawlessly. I'm really happy with my experience and would recommend them highly. Please don't confuse them with the other Global Moving Systems out of Florida ... I saw reviews on that company and almost didn't hire this team. That would have been my loss. They're not the least expensive but I imagine they are the best. Great job! read more

My experience with GMS was outstanding in every regard. My move included the loading of a 10 x 20 foot storage locker to be moved approximately 50 miles and then unloaded. The crew contacted me promptly when our 1 hour arrival window began, and specified their expected arrival time, that was within the 1 hour arrival window. Once on-sight, the team literally jumped to work and began efficiently and carefully loading the truck. The loading process couldn't have been executed more quickly or carefully. The load took about 45 minutes. We then made the drive, and once on-sight, the team again, very quickly and carefully unloaded the truck. In short, the entire operation was a great experience on all fronts. The team of 3 men were friendly, competent, and trustworthy. The move was so efficient the bill only met the minimum of $625, which I thought was a very good deal given the high level of customer service and competence. Well done, and thanks GMS! EDIT: I forgot to mention that this company voluntarily moved a heavy 3.5 X 5 foot safe that was in my unit that I would estimate to be in the range of 500 pounds, no extra charge. Impressive and admirable. read more

Hands down the best moving experience I have ever had, and I've moved many times. Our movers, Chris and Boba were so nice and so fast, and really went out of their way to make sure the experience was as easy as possible for us. I would absolutely recommend them! read more

Bakha and his team did a fantastic job helping us to move from one house in DC to another. They truly went above and beyond. Both houses had challenging staircases and they navigated our furniture up and down them with no problem. There were a few larger pieces I was worried about, but they were able to carefully lower them from the second floor porch without batting an eye. When our box spring posed an issue with getting it up the stairs, Bakha and his team worked with us to figure out a solution and were able to get it through an upstairs window. Even with all of that, they were still in and out of both houses in ~3.5 hours (making the move also very affordable!). On top of all of that, Bakha and his team were extremely friendly and made sure to wear masks. Would definitely use this team again! read more

Excellent interstate moving experience, David and Nagi were wonderful! The movers were on time, were considerate in moving fragile items, and made every effort to accommodate. Would highly recommend! read more

Thank God for Global Moving Systems!!! We moved today, stop pass storage, and then to the location!! They were efficient, helpful, kind, and professional!! Worth every dime!!! Thank you soooooo much Alex and Matt...you were GREAT!!!! read more

My wife & I hired them through Amazon Prime. That was painless. The day of the move, I spoke to Evgeny, the dispatcher. He called me about an hour before the crew was supposed to arrive, to confirm service. The crew showed up a hour late, due to traffic. Not a problem for us. We had a crew of three movers in a 24 ft truck, ready to work. They moved out two bedroom, 1200 sq. ft. On the 4 the floor walk-up apartment in about 1.75 hours with no complaints! These guys were in shape. They followed us over to our new place, a three bedroom house. They finished unpacking the truck in about 90 minutes. We bought them lunch, they even ate efficiently! My only complaint is that the guys didn't put up blankets on the walls and we ended up with a few scrapes on the stair landings. Nothing a Magic Eraser can't take care of. I would definitely recommend these guys again for the next move. Thanks again Chris, Aziz and Vova! read more

We had a GREAT EXPERIENCE on a very hot day with some very heavy items. We had Naagi and Roberto who were both very pleasant and professional throughout. They arrived within the designated time frame and finished right at 4 hours. They carefully wrapped and transported all items to ensure safe arrival in my new home. I would highly recommend this company and these two men for your next move!! read more

Recently moved and used these guys. They've got it down to a science. They had my whole place packed, moved, and gone in 3 hours (a one bedroom apt). Oh- but the best part of my experience was that they returned to drop off an item that rolled around and got lost in the truck once they got back. Honest people. Great move. Incredible company. Have already begun recommending them! read more

We used this company for two moves this year -- the first when we moved furniture and boxes in preparation for putting the house on the market, then again to move the rest of our belongings after the house was sold. We were very satisfied with every detail of both experiences, from the initial scheduling to unloading at our new residence. They are true professionals. read more

Easy to schedule, well priced, showed up on time ready to go. Three hard working guys who were very friendly and easy going. They carefully wrapped up all our furniture and even gave us freebies like blankets and special boxes for mirrors, glass, framed pictures. Would definitely recommend these guys! read more

These movers were awesome! I wasn't all the way prepared when they showed up to help me move out of my apartment and into storage but they assisted me the whole way through and were so nice about it while I was stressing. They made the move really smooth and were so great to work with. We'll definitely be recommending them to all of our friends and we'll definitely be calling them to help us move into our new home! Great rate nice people! Thank you guys!!! read more

We did a local moving (alexandria to springfield) and i got a quote with my guys moving, interstate, olympia, brown moving and i felt very comfortable booking with global moving because they got the best rate but also the owner even helped me by doing a 2 move instead one big one which helped me a lot because i have 2 kids and needed to do a partial move to get things settled in the house and than the final move with beds and etc. We had a very heavy and long couch that we thought was going to be hard to move and they did very easy and fast no issues. To make it less expensive we did pack all our boxes but was not problem and once we moved to our new house they put things were they belong (meaning 1/2/3 floor and nothing got broken! ) I got the same main person doing the move which was great and they were super nice! I highly recommend them and hope you have a happy move! For me i hope this is our last move of many years! read more

I feel this company has very good aspects and very bad aspects. The first thing I want to say is that I know we had a difficult move. We lived in an over packed 1 bedroom condo. We had more stuff than your typical 1 bedroom apartment. I'll start with the good. When it comes to moving boxes and packing boxes, they were phenomenal. I was very impressed how fast they loaded the boxes that were already packed into the truck, and how fast they helped us load up the random nick knacks that we still had around the house. I was also very impressed that when all the boxes arrived at our new house, none of the boxes were damaged and all the contents inside were in perfect condition. Their team work was stellar in making sure they were making the best use of their time, and moving boxes out in the most efficient way possible. They clearly had a system that working for this portion of the move. Now for the bad. During the move two pieces of our furniture were damaged. We had a bed that the moving team attempted to take apart and reassemble. When the bed was reassembled at our new place, it was missing a piece. It was was missing a board that covered up a portion of the side of the bed. It is noticeable and ruins the overall appearance of the bed. What really bothers us about this is that it is really obvious the piece was missing and none of the movers mentioned it to us. We discovered it on our own after the movers left. Also, some of the screws that hold the bed together are starting to slip out of their location. The second piece of furniture that was damaged was a dresser. The bottom support beam on the bottom of the dresser was cracked. Since it was cracked the dresser is starting to split apart. The drawers will no longer open and close properly and they fall off their tracks. Once again, we were not told about the damage, we discovered it as we went to put clothes in the drawer after the movers left. On a related note, we had a desk that the moving company recommend that they note move, and they didn't, because they were scared they were going to damage it. I wish they would have told us the same thing about our bed and dresser. When we contacted the moving company about the damage done to our furniture, they wanted to talk to the moving team before they did anything. That is completely understandable. When they eventually got back to us, the decision was that they would refund us $100. This decision was made based on the wording of the contract and the materials the bed and dresser were made out of. This upsets us because the cost of replacing the dresser and bed is well over a $100. They did offer to come out and attempt to fix the furniture. We are uncomfortable with this because we are not sure how they could fix the missing piece of the bed and make it look whole again, nor how they could keep the structure of the bed intact as screws are slipping out. Also, what happens if they repair the dresser and a few months from now that repair fails? **Update** After I posted my review, Global Moving Company contacted us asking what they could do to make the situation right. They offered us an extra $50 refund and offered to come remove the broken furniture for us (a service we would have had to pay for). We feel this offer was more than fair. We have learned that this company really does has customer satisfaction as their number one goal. While our furniture was broken, they went above and beyond to make sure the situation was fixed to our satisfaction. Because of this, we feel raising our initial rating of 2 stars to a final rating of 4 stars is warranted and fair. read more

I hired Global Movers for a small, but long distance move to Pittsburgh. I had a studio apartment in Rockville MD, and I needed my furniture moved to a storage space at my new place. Global Mover's addressed all my questions and concerns prior to the move; offered a very reasonable quote and stuck to it. Stairs where not a part of the original agreement but the guys moved things as I directed with no hesitation. The truck arrived on time and with all of my belongings intact. Took a whole lot of stress out of the moving process. These guys are fast and efficient--I'm so glad I chose Global Movers!!!! Jacob and Chris--thank you! read more

I was looking for a company to pack and ship some family heirloom china from Vienna, Virginia to San Jose, California and found prices from the "big" moving companies to be staggering. After talking to the folks at Global and discussing my needs, they were extremely accommodating. After setting everything up over the phone, the day of the pack and move two men came out and did a fantastic job of packing all of the china, with me hovering over them to make sure all the very fragile pieces were well wrapped and padded. And they were! When the china got to California, every piece was in perfect condition. The shipping and delivery schedule was completed in a very timely manner and I was very pleased with every facet of our experience. I recommend these folks highly. Their professional manner and willingness to help me, all for an excellent price, was unbeatable. Thanks Global. read more

I can't say enough good things about our experience with Global Moving. They were super responsive, professional, good with follow-up and flexibe. So I reached out to Global Moving Systems after dealing with the traditional Van Lines on our move from Maryland to California. I spoke with Eugene and from the beginning, he was an easy person to deal with and more than willing to ensure everything went well. The cost was competitive but I also liked the fact of dealing with a smaller company, because they were more personable or involved in your move and trying to do a great job. The day of the move, the team was on time and did a very good and careful loading the truck. Eugene was able to get our stuff out to CA very quickly. Everything was unloaded the same way. I recommend Global Moving Systems for any move. read more

Global Moving did an unbelievable job. We had a short notice move and they were able to fit us in. Eugene and his team arrived and had everything loaded, moved and unloaded in less than 4 hours. Eric and his crew moved my family and I from Arlington to Sterling. Along the way to Sterling we stopped by my parents house to pick up 2 couches and a TV and proceeded to out new home. After 9 hrs of moving, the guys set up my daughter's crib and moved all our stuff to the desired locations in our house. We did a move across town in November 2015. These guys were amazing. Scheduling was easy. They showed up a bit early and immediately got to work. Somehow they moved our entire house across town in about 8 hours. The price was more than reasonable, the workers were all extremely polite and respectful, and they hardly stopped moving. I had to beg them to take breaks and eat something. I highly, highly recommend this service. I am not a bot. They didn't pay me to write this. I don't work for them. We found them on Angie's list and decided to use them for our recent move because they got very good review - and they very well deserve it. We couldn't be happier with the service. The movers arrived right on time and start immediately. They are very professional and efficient. They took very good care of our furniture and padded them very carefully - even those ikea dressers. They were careful with all our stuffs. I have almost four boxes of dishes and they didn't break a piece (I have used other movers in the area who also have high Yelp reviews but who threw my dish boxes and broke a lot!). Highly recommend. Worst experience I ever had. They were 6 weeks late, from day they promised. The truck arrived and there were boxes busted open everywhere. I've dealt with a number of moving companies over the years, and this one was the best. I had to move some furniture after my dad's death and had to do it remotely. (Which could be a scary proposition.) Everything went like clockwork. I received a timely and fair quote. When it came to the move, they were on time and professional. The handled the furniture with care and to top it all off.... the cost came below the quoted price. It was a true pleasure dealing with them. I had two excellent experiences with Global Moving Systems in March 2017, which I will share here, and I am delighted to recommend them with great enthusiasm and without hesitation. First, I want to note that I did not use the Yelp discount and so my review is not based on any sort of discount but my great experiences with the staff and the secure relocation of my property during a long distance move. In early March I arranged my move for mid-March from Washington, DC, to Connecticut with Eugene, who was incredibly professional throughout. I was really impressed with him. I based my decision to select GMS on (1) overwhelmingly positive Yelp reviews and (2) a competitive price (while still in the thousands) for the 350-mile move. After originally sending my request online, Eugene called me within a few hours and we discussed my move, my preferable dates, and other issues. He then sent me a contract that was clear and easy to understand, and he was readily available to answer questions about it. On the move day, we found ourselves facing an evening snowstorm, so Eugene called and we discussed how the movers would pack the truck on the same day as planned, and they would lock the truck and keep it secure in a fenced area with video cameras, and would drive to Connecticut after the storm. I had Eugene's assurances that the truck would remain secure. The two movers arrived and spent about three hours moving my boxes and some furniture -- down a hallway, into the elevator, then up a staircase to the moving truck. As they secured the boxes in the truck, they were sensitive to my requests for further securing the truck objects -- never scoffing or rolling their eyes but ensuring I was comfortable. I really appreciated that. They left a few days after the storm as soon as it was safe to do so, and traveled to Connecticut, where they met my parents, who directed them on where to put the boxes over an hour or so. The movers were professional and pleasant throughout, and were very nice and patient with my parents as they determined and directed where to place the boxes and furniture. I really appreciated this -- and it's worth noting that I had already tipped them here in DC so they would have had no idea that they would get tipped again in CT. On my second experience, two other movers moved a large piece of furniture that would not fit into my condominium elevator or staircase, it seems. So they had to get creative and use some serious braun to move the piece. The movers never complained or gave up -- and instead worked really hard to move the furniture without damaging walls, stairwells or doors. I was very impressed with their efforts. I enthusiastically recommend Eugene and his team of movers. I am blown away actually at the relative ease of the move and working with them. This was the first team of movers in my 20 years of painful moves in the District that didn't demand additional money after seeing or packing my items; they never raised their voices or complained to me; and they were nice and professional throughout. Eugene has assembled a great team. I am a demanding customer with high standards and would happily hire them again if the circumstances allowed. read more

This is my first review in a long time but it was so worth mentioning. I called Global Moving Systems needing a last minute move from one apartment building to an adjourning building and was immediately booked for the following weekend. The movers called me the morning of the move to apologize for being slightly late, even though they appeared in the middle of their arrival window. The two gentlemen Yizhak and Christian were professional, with masks and gloves,(given the COVID19 environment) quick and friendly. They moved everything like they were on a mission, taking care of fragile items and never dropping any item and never dinging a single door frame or corner. This was my second move using Global Moving Systems in three months. First my moving into an apartment in January and now moving in an aging parent, and both moves have gone off with out a hitch. ***Yizhak even took the time to realine a quilt drawer on my mothers bed as he was putting it back together so it has worked for the first time since she bought the bed!!! Again thank you Yizhak and Christian for such an effortless move. And thank you Global Moving Systems for being available and professional in these scary times. read more
