2024 Poor SERVICE, quality and value. So, It's now all automated and I could never get someone on the phone, nor was there anyone there when I hired movers to get my things out. I left messages for days and it took them over a week to return my calls. Ok so I became ill with Lyme disease so not only were my things in there for quite a while, I kept getting constant increases. And was being charged an exorbitant amount of 500+++per month, PLUS most of my things I discovered were now moldy!!! It's heartbreaking that my beautiful French chairs that go to my dining room table now have mold all over. I can't bring them into this house AND it turns out the insurance I was paying to orange PS insurance co will pay only 250 unless I prove there was a leak??? Why do I have to prove their leaking building???????. My things went in there without mold, and now they have mold. This is CLIMATE CONTROLLED? I had three units with this location. Unfortunately, the site has a persistent leak in the roof. Water leaked into my unit on several occasions and caused damage to my furniture. Sadly, the lease waives any right to recovery and to add insult to injury, they would not refund all months rent where the roof leaked on my belongings(3). Public storage regional manager(Sara) told me I was lucky to get one month and when I said that wasn't enough didn't credit any months. I also plan to file a formal consumer protection complaint with the state consumer affairs and the BBB. Bottom Line: Great on-site staff, poor corporate management. BEWARE! Without the offered storage rental insurance you can walk away with a loss or with forced arbitration that's costly and time consuming. read more

I don't know how these reviews are so good. Plan to have your storage unit leak and have nothing done about it...insurance claims are like writing a book so who wants to do that? Management won't move you at their expense because we are getting such a great deal on a unit. Why should management pay? You are getting a deal! Your stuff will still get wet. Plan to have the carts locked away in the office and not be able to get to them. Be prepared to have an extra lock put on your unit because they think you aren't paying for your unit when all payments are automatically going through. Be prepared to have the cost of your monthly storage unit go up $30! Unannounced folks. Next stop is Better Business Bureau. Save yourself a headache and rent somewhere else. If you want to throw away your money this is the place. I paid around $160 a month for a storage unit at this location for a year. I chose this particular place because it is climate controlled. When the movers and I came to retrieve my belongings, I was shocked to find most items were wet and moldy.There was some sort of water leak and 75% of my belongings were ruined. You're required to take out insurance for a unit. I got some money back for my belongings (depreciated value) but it hardly covered what I lost. For example, $5 back for a DVD player- really? It also took months to get this money and involved hours of work filling out forms, making phone calls. Public storage would not work with me on returning any of the rent fees I paid. I had a contract for a CLIMATE CONTROLLED unit (I chose to store here at a higher cost because this was available) and instead I stored my belongings in the equivalent of a swamp. I did check in periodically and due to the location of the leak I wasn't able to see what was going on. I spoke with the district manager and all he/she (can't remember) offered me was a month of free rent if I wanted another storage unit there. No way! Why would I even risk that- my things were ruined and I will never store anything here again. This company takes no responsibility whatsoever for their storage units. The owners/managers at this location are very nice, but the gate is often left open (broken), and the fees increase significantly after the first promotion. I started out paying 75.00 monthly two years go and am now paying $140.00-I'll be moving out soon-especially when the location is often not secure. read more

I had a rough start due to a computer glitch but the District Manager Alena was amazing in solving the issue. Then there's the property Manager Willie. He's been extremely helpful. He has given me great tips to get the best use from my storage unit. I always appreciate being greeted with a smile and a cart. Paid for storage but could not move in my stuff till the next day because management forgot to remove their lock. I asked the manager Willie to extend my date by one day and said he called the district manager and was waiting for a callback. I too call the district manager and no one called me back. Also, the place is not secure. At night top sliding doors do not lock. I told Willie about this and he said he put in an order to fix it. To date, it is still broken. I would not store your items at this location. I also forced to buy rental insurance from them because I was told that I could not move in until I had insurance. I stated I had insurance and Willie stated I needed rental insurance. You can use your own homeowner's insurance as I found out later. read more

The young girl found us two carts! It was so helpful to have those carts so we didn't have to make several trips! Her name was Sierra and she had just started working there. She was super helpful. I want to say a little more about Mark and how well he handles things at this storage facility. We have been trying to relocate to Texas since March, but this COVID nightmare put the brakes on our plans. When we finally had everything in place and ready to ship our belongings there was a little glitch .... the container (i.e. POD) had to stay on site overnight. Mark understood that we had no control over the POD schedule. He all talked us through the process and just put our panicked minds to rest. His is professional and takes care of Public Storage interests. But Mark is also very personable and understands that in the process of moving, people have little control of things outside their immediate circle. I should have written this sooner, but as sure as Murphy's Law prevails, things continue to challenge our move. The only reason this place gets five stars is because of Kelly, she is awesome and super helpful. I'm disappointed in the management of the location because of the amount of pressure they place on Kelly to get reviews and how they treat her (really? bad weather out and you write her up for being 5 minutes late even though she called ahead?). It's a clean and friendly facility, very safe, and well kept. The customer bathroom door is forever locked and the management refuses to fix it - not cool with a potty training kiddo. Kelly does great customer service, but the second woman that was there was a little rude and laughed at me when I was struggling to get the cart through the door and figure out how to maneuver it. If it weren't for Kelly and the super convenient location, we wouldn't use this storage unit. read more

Rented a 10x30 unit end of January, 2016. Office people were nice, asked that I write a review then. It has been 5 months now since we rented the unit. Received a letter from Public Storage RAISING our monthly rent $68.50 per month. When we rented this unit there was NO mention that the rent would be increasing. We told them that we would be long term renters but still no mention that they raise your rent after only 5 months of renting. So beware, the rent you pay when you first move into your unit will NOT last long. They will raise your rent after only five months! When I called I was told that they usually raise the rent after 5-6 months. Then why don't they tell you that? I feel cheated, taken advantage of. But they've got you, your stuff is already there, but I promise, if I could move my things today I would. who wants to do business with someone that treats theirs customers like this!!! This is the WORST Public Storage with which I've done business! I've had an overpriced (at just about $162/mo for a 10x7.5) unit since May 2010. My unit is accessible by driving to the lower ground area and going through the doors on the bottom of this 3 level facility. Since I've rented there, I've visited my unit on many occasions only to find that the doors to the main lobby area of the bottom level are wide open or completely inaccessible after entering my door/gate code. One time, when my gate code didn't work, I pressed the Call button on the keypad and the VERY UNHELPFUL manager told me to just pull the doors open with my hands. These are SLIDING doors! She told me to pull OUT (in the same fashion that that the doors were frequently swung wide open! Angry? Oh, that's just the beginning of my sentiments toward Public Storage, right now. The manager never even apologized for the inconvenience! Fast forward to July and August of 2011. On Saturday, July 30, 2011, my husband and I drove 30 minutes to get to my storage unit (N. VA traffic) to pick up a couple of bins. We got there around 7:30 in the evening - office closed with unit access until 9) We got inside the lower level only to find NO CARTS anywhere on that level. My unit is not easily accessible to the front door - in terms of carrying anything to or from my unit. We NEED to use a cart and they've always been there when I've gone there before. So, we went to the 2nd floor - NO CARTS. 1st floor - NO CARTS! So, guess what? We had to go back home. The next day (Sunday, July 31), I called the 800 number for Public Storage. I reported my concerns and the woman on the phone told me to call the district manager - Fatima (or something like that). I asked why, after calling the 800 # to talk about my issues, I still had to make another call...and then asked if THEY could give the District Manager MY number and complaint and ask her to call me! The woman said the DM would call me within 48 hours. She never called and today is a full week later. So, later in the day on July 31, my husband and I went back to Public Storage and, again, no carts available on any level. This time, the front office manager was there. I tried to go into the office from the hallway, but the door was locked. I banged and she came. I could see carts inside the office and told here there were no carts anywhere else and I asked for one. She said she'd need to see my driver's license. Of course I didn't have it because it was in my car, 2 levels down! I got angry and told her it was ridiculous, especially after I already used my personal code to access the building through two different sets of doors and again on the elevator. She brought me a handcart and in a nasty tone, told me to bring it back when I was done. When I was done, I took it to the same LOCKED office door and banged, again. She wasn't even in there! I looked behind me and she was strolling down the hall on her way back to the office. I left the cart and walked away. She was such a nasty woman to me, before, that I just didn't want to talk to her. She saw me leave it. On Friday, August 5, I called the 800# for Public Storage, again...and told me story with the new details, again. The woman offered the DM's phone number. I declined, since she never returned my call. So, instead of asking for my name and number, she gave me the Regional Manager's name and phone number and I called. I spoke with her about all of my concerns and she said she'd look into it and then asked if she could get back with me on Monday. Fine...whatever. At least, she seemed to care that I was angry. On Saturday, Aug 6, my husband and I went to my unit - AGAIN. This time, I parked on the main level, took my driver's license to show the front office person (the same manager woman who is always there), and went in to see about a cart. They were all in the office - again. I told her I needed a cart, held out my license and she just took it out of my hand and sat it down. I waited for a moment and asked if she was going to give it back since she verified who I was. She said she was keeping it until I brought the cart back and, oh by the way..."You have to have it back by 5 because that's when I close." Unbelievable. My husband drove our vehicle to the lower level while I took the cart via the elevator. When we were done, he drove the car to the upper level while I took the cart back through the inside. Again, the hallway door to the office was locked. But, the manager saw me standing there....and walked the other direction! I banged on the door. She opened it, just enough to hand me my driver's license and to try to pull the cart in. I said I needed to go out the front door to get to my car. I had a few words with her and left. No name calling. I'm getting my things out as soon as I possibly can. Ugh...Stay away, if you can. Anywhere else would be better. read more

Went online and took advantage of a $1/first month rental special they were offering. They called me immediately to schedule a time for me to come in, view the unit, and sign the paperwork. I had never rented from them before, and Taylor, the associate who helped me, was excellent. She made it all very easy for me, explaining how to pay online and giving me helpful reminders for how to locate my unit in the "maze" when I come back. It was quick and efficient - I was in and out of there in half an hour and that included Taylor taking the time to give me the tour of the building entrances, elevators, etc.. No muss, no fuss. So far, I'm only in my first month, so I will update the review if and when something changes about their service. However, I don't expect any problems and am very pleased. read more

We have been customers since June and have 2 units in 2 different locations. I went online to reserve a bigger unit and it showed as first month was only $1 plus the $24 fee they charge to fill out paperwork you do online. My husband went in to finalize everything and was told he would have to play the full price of the unit because he was an existing customer. If that were the case then it should NOT have calculated the amount as $25. Needless to say we will NOT be staying there much longer and will be looking for a new company to use. I understand you have promotions to get new customers..what about extending that offer to existing customers. Poor customer relations if you ask me and I should mention we had the unit just at 6 months and the rent was raised from $90 to $103. Not worth the hassle.. read more

Worst customer service experience ever. Katy was extremely rude. I phoned to follow-up on what I was told was a billing error. I tried to explain my understanding but Katy told me to rudely be quiet. We ended up paying the equivalent of an extra month's storage in late fees because they had increased our storage rate and sent the notices to an incorrect address. We had previously changed our address in February with Public Storage. Katy could care less and made no attempts to keep us as customers. She also seemed to be calling my bluff about vacating the unit. We just moved out on 8/28/16 and are moving to a competitor. We will be paying $30 more, but it is worth not having to deal with horrible people. We ran into another person vacating his unit and he expressed the same concerns. read more

We have had a small storage unit here for about 5 months. We don't access it that often but we have not had any issues. When we needed to rent a second unit in preparation for a move the manager was very accommodating. The storage facility is very clean and well maintained. We looked at several storage facilities in the area and this one seemed to have the best facility for the price (we needed a facility with air conditioning). read more
