I usually refrain from writing negative comments unless it's really bad, but I think certain…read moreelements are worth highlighting . Draw your own conclusion. 1. First, with a positive, the follow up and customer service is great. It has to be, due to the following comments listed. 2. Moved a 1 bedroom apt( bedframe , mattress, dresser , 2 TVs , and a sofa), and it took 5 hours , with a locked elevator , in the same building, separated by 2 floors.Everything additional was boxed or bagged. No loose items. 3. They attempted to change the charges the day of the move , even though we had confirmed less than 24 hours prior. Claimed the 3rd person Was due to their double booking, snow , etc . And the additional man would speed up the process . Did i mention this simple 1 bedroom move took 5 hours for an in building, one bedroom transfer? Does that seem expedited ? Everything was a group effort, and teaching moment. this slowed the move down. For example, it Took 20 minutes of discussion to figure out how to disassemble a bed frame efficiently . Constantly going back and forth to the moving truck on the clock ( for what idk ) . If not watched , disappearing for 15-20 minutes at a time . 4. I was advised that I could leave my dresser items in the drawers, and they could move them efficiently. I now have to find someone to take my dresser apart, due to items some how making their way to inside unreachable areas insiders dresser. 5. I have to find someone to reassemble my sofa. They didn't put it back together. 6. You're charged 30 minutes to and from . So, you owe an hour before they start . They didn't have to leave the property, but charged me fuel . How do you charge someone fuel, and time for arrival, and departure ? Seems like the rate is only labor . You're also charged for any items used to rap to transport furniture . The intimation that they try to give you when you book is that is inclusionary. 7. With a discount, A DISCOUNT, this move cost me $1,000. Between the random 3rd man up charge , wrapping items for the large furniture , fuel charge , insurance that they make you cover that they don't disclose until the last minute that is almost $200 additional ... 8. Moved my items into the hallway, and left them there unattended while moving. 9. Even if you pay by phone, they want you to write your credit card information on a random piece of paper. It's a hard NO, for me. Yes, I signed, and let them go about their business. It's exhausting to keep debating obvious discrepancies, and hidden fees during a move which is a top 3 stressor in general. Just .... Don't . Use someone else .

Moving company: All My Sons Moving & Storage 7642 Dynatech…read moreCt, Springfield, VA 22153 804-315-3030 Manager: Rusty On Wednesday morning at approximately 8:04 AM, I contacted All My Sons Moving & Storage to ask questions regarding their moving services in order to determine whether I wanted to move forward with using their company. Unfortunately, my experience with both the employee and management was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. The employee I spoke with, Laura, appeared to lack the necessary knowledge and understanding of the company's services and pricing structure. During the call, I asked whether there would be any taxes or additional fees beyond the quoted flat rate. Laura responded by saying, "From what I have been told... no." I explained that I needed a clear and definitive answer and requested that, if she was unsure, she transfer me to someone who could provide accurate information. Laura placed me on hold and later returned to the call still unable to provide a direct or confident answer. I then expressed that her inability to answer basic questions made me feel as though she was not knowledgeable regarding her position. At that point, Laura became confrontational, spoke over me repeatedly, and insisted that she had already answered my question clearly and that she was fully capable of doing her job. Her tone and attitude became increasingly hostile and unprofessional. Due to her behavior, I stated that I no longer felt comfortable continuing the conversation with her and requested to speak with a manager. Instead of professionally transferring the call, Laura continued arguing with me. Roughly 15 minutes into the conversation, she then informed me that the call was being recorded. At no point at the beginning of the call was I advised that the conversation was being recorded, which I found highly concerning. I was eventually transferred to a manager named Rusty. Unfortunately, the interaction with management was no better. While attempting to explain my concerns, Rusty repeatedly interrupted me. When I asked if I could finish speaking, he responded, "Yes, if you would like," in a dismissive manner. After I explained the issues I experienced with Laura, Rusty stated that he "couldn't play sides" and would need to listen to the recording. I never asked him to take sides; my intention was simply to make management aware of the poor customer service experience so that no future customer would have to endure similar treatment. Rusty then stated that they "rarely receive complaints like this," implying that my concerns were unusual or questionable. I responded by saying that simply because complaints are rare does not mean poor treatment is impossible. Rusty accused me of misconstruing his words, which I was not doing. I was simply responding to his statement. He then claimed there appeared to be a "communication issue," when in reality the issue was the unwillingness of both the employee and management to acknowledge the unprofessional behavior and poor communication that occurred during the call. At that point, I informed Rusty that I felt the same confrontational attitude was being displayed by management and that I no longer felt comfortable trusting or spending my hard-earned money with the company. I then ended the call. Shortly after 9:00 AM, I received a voicemail from Rusty stating that he had reviewed the recorded call and believed the employee had answered my question. The voicemail entirely ignored the employee's inability to provide clear information, as well as the hostile and dismissive behavior displayed throughout the interaction. This experience was extremely disappointing and reflects a significant decline in customer service professionalism and accountability. As a hardworking United States Army Soldier, I dedicate my life to serving and protecting this country. I should not have to endure disrespect, hostility, or dismissive treatment simply for asking reasonable questions as a potential customer. I sincerely hope this matter is reviewed seriously so that future customers do not experience the same level of poor customer service and unprofessional conduct that I encountered.

They couldn't complete the packing in the allotted time because they didn't bring enough people or have a big enough truck. They came back on day 3 at 7pm and did not finish until midnight! When they finished no one had my paperwork and I was told they'd bring me the paperwork the next day (my daughter's 4th birthday). NO ONE SHOWED UP! No one answered my calls or texts. My 3 children (ages 7 and below) and I spent the day sitting in an empty house WAITING. I was supposed to leave the day before and delayed my departure so they could finish packing only for them to ask me to stay an additional day because they had no paperwork. The delay costed me 2 additional nights in a hotel. I had to leave the state with no proof that they had my entire household goods. I never got my paperwork. When they delivered my household items I was missing a SOFA, 16FT LADDER, QUEEN BOXSPRING and more! How do you lose such large items?!?! I had several broken items including my washer and dryer completely dented in. I also had someone else's items mixed in with mine (so someone else suffered a loss). RUN from this company! The military needs to ban them from getting contracts to move soldiers.

I will say that I enjoyed the company and trusted the two guys that came to move my one bedroom…read morecondo into a storage unit. They were personable and very efficient. My drop of one star comes from the estimate. I have never once in my life received an accurate moving quote, so I should've known better- but I over estimated how many boxes I had and I truthfully didn't have a ton of furniture, so I really thought (as did the person providing my quote) we could do it in 4 hours with 2 guys. Not a chance. and this was INCLUDED with me helping a ton. I pushed carts, I carried shit... I was actively working alongside them. It ended up being fine, but I really think I would give 5 stars on demand to any company that could actually provide an accurate quote. It's never once happened and I've moved a LOT. I also think the company needs to better be able to advise when the crew is coming- especially when you're the first move of the day (I asked). However, the two guys worked their butts off. They very neatly stacked and organized my stuff in the unit. They were "yes ma'am" and all and really just nice, hardworking men. I appreciated that after some real disasters in the past with 2 Men and a Truck (never again) and Metro Delivery Group (also never again) and JK movers (unless you want to pay triple for no apparent reason!). All in all, it was a very decent experience, when moving sucks anyway. I will 100% use them again- and just ask for a more realistic quote.

ONE STAR: Moving Nightmare - Missed Deadlines and Broken Promises…read more I wish I could leave zero stars. This was not a moving service; it was a grossly unprofessional, overpriced disaster that showed a complete lack of planning and disrespect for the client's living situation. This company completely failed to deliver on their advertised promises to make the move "smooth and stress-free" with "transparent pricing." First, the simple things: My appointment on November 5th was scheduled for 9:00 AM, but the crew didn't bother showing up until 10:30 AM. For a company that claims 14 years in business as a local establishment, they clearly should know local traffic patterns and how to manage a schedule. To compound the terrible start, I had reserved the loading dock and elevator specifically for their arrival. Over the course of the hour and a half they were late, I had to repeatedly ask at least three different trucks to move from the dock area. This logistical incompetence, right upon arrival, caused significant, unnecessary stress before the move even began. This initial lateness was critical because it spiraled into a catastrophic failure regarding my condo building's rules. Sales person Dustin was explicitly told about the 3:00 PM elevator reservation limit, a time he even wrote down. Despite Great Job Moving's claim that they are "prepared for every situation" and "reserve elevators," they didn't finish until well after 5:00 PM, jeopardizing my relationship with building management and adding immense stress. Pricing and Deception (A Clear Bait-and-Switch): The quote from Dustin was $1,100 - $1,300. This estimate was given after detailing the complexity of the job, including an essential stop at a storage unit and removing items from the garage. Despite these factors being known upfront, the final base bill was over $1,600--a difference of over $300 from the high end of the estimate. I was completely misled regarding the true cost of the move, directly contradicting their promise of "free, upfront estimates and transparent pricing." Quality Failures: The moving crew themselves were hardworking and professional, which is the only reason this rating isn't zero stars. However, their physical efforts were completely undermined by the company's disastrous scheduling and logistics: They failed to put boxes in the right rooms, forcing me to haul misplaced heavy items myself. Their extreme tardiness and eventual failure to finish on time caused massive downstream disruption. I had hired people to help me unpack and take care of other things at the condo, and the crew's delays resulted in a lot more delay and cost on my end for that assistance. A Note on the Tip: I felt terrible only being able to leave a $100 tip (bringing the total paid to over $1,700) because the base bill was already hundreds of dollars over the estimate. The company's deceptive pricing directly impacted the crew's earnings, which is unacceptable and unethical. Paying over $1,700 for this level of incompetence and deception is a complete rip-off. They failed on time, cost, and basic logistical planning. They are Great Job Moving and Storage in name only. Do not hire their management team

Broken furniture, missing parts, lying truck driver, and the list goes on. My sister and I had to help unload and put my furniture away. ( Which I paid extra for.) The truck driver, the 800 phone number, the salesman, kept telling us help was on the way, but little did we know, the truck driver had no intentions of getting help, since he has to pay the crew. It took almost 12 hours for the three of us to unload and assemble things. The driver even tried to take my expensive lawn mower, and insisted it was not in his truck. I told him it had to be there, it was new, and in the manufacturer's box. As I start to search his rig, he is right behind me saying "it's not here," and just as he says it I find my box. He is still denying it is mine. (It is roped off in another section,) I show him my name on box, and he finally lets me have it. Towards the 11th hour we knew that the truck driver was also exhausted. My sister and I are over 65 years old. Needless to say I "Threw my back out with so much lifting,"... my sister did not feel well, either. We made a complaint right away about what happened and were assured we would be compensated for the extreme, grueling, episode, we went through... And they tell me I signed a paper that says .60 cents a pound. So for my Flex Norditrack, my furniture, my missing batteries for mower, etc, they offer me about $75.00, then they offer me 150.00 for the 12 hours of work my sister and I had to do, and no compensation for being in bed for almost two weeks in serious pain. I am exhausted of trying to talk to their people. "RUN, DON't WALK AWAY FROM this MOVING COMPANY... There are more nightmare stories of them stealing stuff, being rude, and holding furniture as ransom. If you do have a CLAIM make sure you file it before nine months is up. My only recourse now is to take them to court.

It didn't help that my parents were breathing down my neck, doing the frugal-Asian-parents thing that they do. In the end, the choice was pretty clear. I could go with a traditional van line moving service, or I could hire Bekins' moving pod product line, Chronos, at roughly half the cost. Even though half of a big number is still a big number, the savings (at over a grand!) had me sold. On both ends of the move, the folks who came to pick up and drop off most of my worldly possessions were supremely efficient at their task and flexible with logistical requirements/challenges. Y'know... like the crazy regulations that generally don't make sense, but that are enforced by a condo management agency. Or similar ultra-strict rules and missing freight elevator operators in a Manhattan doorman building. Eh. I got to use my own padlock to ensure that no one tampered with my crap once it was loaded into the giant moving pod; the only casualties of the move appear to be a small plate and a little plastic pad for my dining room table. I barely had to lift a finger, and the price was -exactly- what I was quoted, down to the last cent. As far as I'm concerned, I consider hiring Bekins to haul my stuff up the eastern seaboard a success. That said, I'm really -not- excited about moving again anytime soon.

If zero stars were possible, that's what I would give…read more Mama's Movers of Martinsburg turned what should have been a joyful move into a heartbreaking and exhausting ordeal. We hired them to pack, move, assemble furniture at our new home, and clean our previous residence. They toured our townhouse in person, confidently assured us they could "handle everything easily" for $3,000 total, and had my husband pay $1,000 up front to reserve the job. When they showed up 45 minutes late on Wednesday to begin packing, they suddenly added extra, unexpected charges--like $150 for a truck--and insisted on being paid the entire $3,550 up front through Zelle before continuing. My husband and I trusted them and paid in full. That was the last time things went smoothly. Day 1 - Packing: They worked about four hours and left early. The owner later apologized, saying they "had to move a piano" but promised to finish everything the next day. Day 2 - Moving (Thursday): They arrived an hour late again, spent most of the day still packing, and finally moved one truckload of our belongings that evening. They didn't assemble anything except our bed--after asking if they "really had to"--and promised to return first thing Friday morning to finish assembling our desks, furniture, and TVs, and to clean the old home. They never came back. By 6:30 p.m. Friday, after waiting all day, we learned they had taken another job but would come after 5 p.m. That didn't happen. They then promised to come Saturday at 8:30 a.m. to finally complete our Wednesday packing and Thursday move. It's now Saturday noon, and we're still waiting. During the move, they broke the decorative drawer front on our master bathroom vanity--a false drawer meant only for design--and tried to tape it back on with packing tape without telling us. My work laptop no longer powers on since the move, forcing us to spend several thousand dollars to replace it. At our previous home, they left eight bags of trash piled in the garage and told us afterward that they don't clean walls or carpets. We were never told that beforehand. If we had known, we would have hired a separate company to handle it properly. Instead, we were charged for a "move-out clean" that wasn't truly complete. They even used our own cleaning supplies and overfilled our vacuum with debris, damaging it in the process. It seemed that once they realized they had broken our vacuum, they gave up on finishing the carpets altogether. To make matters worse, we found two sticks of butter smashed into the yard, even though we had told them not to move any food and our refrigerator was still full. My 73-year-old mother-in-law slipped on that butter, fell, and cut her arm badly enough to bleed. She could have been seriously injured. My husband is a disabled veteran, and I am bedridden, so we were counting on this company to do what they promised. Instead, they took our money, broke their word, damaged our property, and disappeared. When I left a factual Google review hoping they would take accountability or simply make things right, the owner personally attacked me online--mocking my character, honesty, and intelligence--instead of apologizing or sending her crew back to finish the work. Even after everything, I would still delete this review and write a positive one if the owner simply apologized and sent her workers to complete the job we paid for. But it's clear she has no intention of doing so. Mama's Movers of Martinsburg showed dishonesty, negligence, and a complete lack of professionalism. They took advantage of a disabled veteran, a bedridden customer, and an elderly family member who could have been seriously hurt. If you value honesty, respect, and your family's safety--do not hire Mama's Movers of Martinsburg.

Please don't use this company! We chose this company for a local move in West Virginia (50 miles…read moreround trip). Beware they will quote you a really low price to get your business and then take their time loading so you end up paying them just as much as any other company. It's not worth it. Just go with the bigger name company you know you can trust. We rented the UHaul and did all the packing. All the movers needed to do was disassemble some furniture and load the furniture and boxes into the 26 foot truck. Seems simple enough, but these guys are so disorganized that it took them longer to disassemble furniture than it would have taken us to do it ourselves. It took them longer than expected to load up so I was promised an additional mover during unloading so they could finish faster. Well, the additional mover did not show up. They moved so slowly that my husband decided to assemble our master bed on move in day so we could actually go to sleep at a reasonable hour. On top of all this, they actually lost pieces to one of our child's cribs, and were unable to assemble it on the day we moved in. They agreed to purchase replacement parts and come back the next day to assemble the crib. They did come back the next day, but the pieces they purchased didn't fit the crib. After trying to get the crib together for about an hour without any luck, they had to leave to go to their next job without any intention of coming back. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional behavior. I contacted the owner who acted like it was no big deal. She stated the parts were in our house somewhere, we just have to find them. The movers couldn't even tell me where they put the parts! How can she expect us to find them? This is a complete lack of accountability on the company's part. There also seems to be some sketchy stuff going on with this company. They aren't registered with the Department of Transportation like West Virginia requires them to be, and when we requested a copy of our signed contract, I didn't hear back. I will be pursuing other action against this company. No one should be treated like this. We would never hire these movers again. Please do yourself a favor and hire someone else. This company deserves to be put out of business. They don't deserve your money.
