I have never been so disrespected and just generally slimed as a paying customer to a service provider. I had a great experience in the first half of my process with CityStash when my things were collected for storage. They weren't the most professional team, they bumbled around and were rushing, apologizing for knocking things into walls but never stopped rushing. That said, they were good, kind people and I was happy to look past a little damage-free klutziness. When it came time to have my things delivered, the situation went south quickly. At the very end, I think possibly even after my delivery window, I got a call saying they were running late and hadn't even picked up my things from the warehouse to be delivered. I had been calling the main line for updates but didn't get a call back for hours, long after they would have known they wouldn't make it within the delivery window. Again, while it was annoying and could have been handled better, these things happen and I was willing to look past it. The delivery was finally made about 7pm and the movers again arrived flustered and rushed through the process, again banging into things and dinging walls. I assured them it was no big deal and not to worry, I understood sometimes life goes wrong. Once they had finished putting everything in the house, they let me know they had misplaced the specific hardware to reassemble a major piece of bedroom furniture - dresser with attachable mirror. I was told they would collect new screws from Home Depot and see me "first thing in the morning," calling me about an hour before they arrived. The next day I waited until 11 before I began calling, again waiting hours for a callback. This is when I began to get frustrated. When the owner finally called me back around 4pm, he said to me: "I don't know who told you that or why, but that was never going to happen." After exercising a healthy dose of patience and understanding through this, I had now taken not one but two unnecessary days off of work and a snarky remark from he business owner was the last thing I wanted to hear. Two full days later, the job was complete beginning on Tuesday and ending on Friday. The owner will likely be surprised by this review, though I'm not sure why. I clearly communicated my frustrations and he took little to no responsibility for the issues, blaming everything largely on the team he had sent in. When he wasn't blaming his team, he was all but shrugging his shoulders at me. While they certainly were part of the problem, my real grievance rests with him, who handled the situation with the grace and professionalism of a kindergartner in a boardroom. I was refunded $35 for the over half of a week of inconvenience, which perhaps was more insulting than no acknowledgement at all.

I've moved many times over the past 40 years, but this was the first time a moving company salesman…read moreever ghosted me. I was referred to Able Moving and Storage by someone who highly recommended them; Able had done many moves in our building recently so it was a known quantity here. I called the recommended salesman and scheduled an appointment with them. Upon arrival, we had a brief conversation before we walked through our home; I indicated in each room what we needed Able to move and what we would take care of ourselves. We're not moving far so the salesman gave me an idea of what the hourly rate would be, depending on how many movers were used to do the move, and who the coordinators would be. Upon his departure, the salesman said he would get his estimate to us possibly that evening, more likely over the weekend. Since it was a holiday weekend, I doubted we'd see an estimate until the following Tuesday. Tuesday came and no estimate. I texted the salesman asking when we'd see an estimate and he said it would be the next day. Wednesday came and went and still no estimate and, worse, no communication from the salesman. At that point, I decided not to pursue the matter with Able any further. We've still not heard from him to this day. The salesman [ I assume he was a salesman, he offered no business card or company literature] never indicated there was a problem with what we planned to do for the move. I plan to let the person who recommended Able to me know what happened for their future consideration should any of my neighbors ask for a referral.

I will say the two men who arrived were friendly - one a little too friendly, which I'll get to later. First, they took forever! I didn't need ANYTHING boxed up and I lived in a one bedroom, one bath apartment. I only needed the heavy furniture and some pre-boxed organizers moved. When I got the quote, it was for 3 hours. I thought that would be sufficient. It wasn't. When we arrived at the new place, I only asked for the heavy furniture to be placed in rooms. All the other organizers were put in the bottom floor for me to sort through later. Well, SIX HOURS LATER they finally finished. (For 45 minutes, one guy was taking a dump in the bathroom downstairs...) Second, they were not careful with my items or the apartment/house. They put a gash in the wall at the apartment complex I moved out of that cost me $575!!!! WTF! Additionally, they scraped both furniture and walls and floors when they moved the heavy furniture. Third, one of the guys, Nick, made me very uncomfortable with his comments. I'm a single woman who lives with her labradooodle puppy. When we got to the house and they were putting furniture in the bedroom, he looked into the bathroom and commented how nice it was that there were two sinks - one for me and one for him. When they were leaving, he stated he would be back to visit soon. WTF am I supposed to say to that?! He knows where I live and that I live alone. He made numerous other extremely unprofessional comments during the move. Lastly, they accidentally took my dolly when they left. I called an hour later when I realized it was missing and needed it to continue my move. Nick said he would bring it back in an hour and a half. He never did and then stopped responding. I contacted the owner (maybe?), Shannon, I believe. She brought it the next day, which was kind of her. I would NOT RECOMMEND using the company. Find someone else who treats your property like they would want their own treated. These guys are NOT it.
