HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE…read more The only nice thing I can say about this place is that the lady on the phone taking reservations and collecting the money was personable, and the staff are doing their best with a bad situation. Everything else was subpar. I reserved three units in advance to store all of my belongings, and since it was highly rated on Google, I didn't think to go to visit. When I arrived with full moving trucks and crew of movers being paid by the hour, I was disappointed to find that SecureSpace was entirely unsuitable to store anything of value. First, it was blazing hot inside. There was no climate control, which made me very concerned about potential damage to electronics. More alarmingly, the single elevator took nearly 10 minutes to ascend three floors to my units (more than one group was trying to use it). Even if I had arrived when they first opened at 9AM, it would have been impossible for me to unload everything before their 6PM closing time, (which are pretty limited hours for a storage facility). I had to come up with an alternative quickly (see my review for Mini U Storage on Swann Ave) and cancel my leases with SecureStorage. Since I never occupied the units and the office staff explained I would see a refund in a few business days, I thought my business with them was over. However, three weeks later, I still hadn't received my money back. I had to go back down there in person, where the staff explained that they had other priorities with their facility, and they hadn't gotten around to their admin tasks yet. This is a wild, but understandable explanation given the condition of their facilities and how convoluted their systems are (it took me more than 10 minutes to sign one lease after going through their biometric signature process!!!). To their credit, they did process the refund after that visit. All said, I am grateful that I didn't end up storing anything there. Also, I think I've solved the mystery of the high Google ratings -- they seem to be under new management, but got to keep the ratings from the old owners and previous condition of the building. Hope this gives a more current idea of what you can expect if you ignore my warning and rent there anyway.

I know that they auctioned a friend's storage units without contacting her at all, which is against the law - so keep in mind this could happen if you don't pay the fees. I found/rented a 10x10 unit "on-line" (size and value - slightly lower costs than other nearby storage locations/chains), but what "sold me" was the management and facility. WOW! The most friendly and helpful management (Samina) and the cleanest, most effectively managed Public Storage franchise ever. I was immediately impressed when I arrived by how neat and clean the entire facility was maintained. The manager is Samina, and she is an exceptional "customer service / take care of you and the business" person. She knows every unit of "her" public storage franchise (and as I learned later, she also knows her customers). When she took me to my unit, she noted the roller-door was slightly ajar (needed maintenance). I thought it was fine, but she found me a nearby available unit with a "perfect roller-door" and asked if it would be OK to reassign me to that one (her concern was for me to be happy with the unit). She also sent a message to the maintenance team to check the other unit/adjust the door before it will be rented. On subsequent visits (loading items into my storage unit), Samina was helpful (making sure I found the carts, etc.) and recognized me remembering which unit I rented from memory (not needing to look-up my account). Samina's outstanding management and care about me "the customer" coupled with the cleanliness and value has convinced me the Alban Road Public Storage franchise is "best in class." RECOMMENDED!!!
