Before you rent here you should realize several things 1: your rent will go up significantly each year. Unfortunately even if it would be cheaper to go somewhere else for storage you stay because you figure that's easier than moving all of your stuff. I probably could have just added a room onto my house for the price i paid for storage here. 2: There are never enough carts and the ones they do have are broken and crappy. AND the worst thing is, we moved all of our stuff out this weekend since it was the end of the month. The unit was completely emptied out over the weekend. I called on Monday the 31st and asked how to cancel. I was asked if it was emptied and unlocked. I said it was emptied but my husband did not know he needed to take the lock off and I would do it. I was not told it had to be done before closing that day. I worked until 9pm and was not able to come and unlock it and leave the lock and keys until this morning at approximately 6:30 am. I received a call from Public Storage this morning saying since it is the 1st of the month I will have to pay an entire months worth of rent since I had not taken the lock off and returned the keys yesterday AND had I given them a heads up this would not have happened! I did call yesterday!! Charging people a whole months worth of rent for bringing the keys back on the 1st is ridiculous and very poor business practice! What ever happened to pro rating, you don't charge people a full months rent when they move in on the 10th or 15th, you pro rate it. I would be happy to pay for 1 days rent on the unit but asking me to pay an entire months rent on an empty unit when the keys were returned on the 1st is RIDICULOUS!!!! Do yourself a favor and DONT rent here!!!!!!!

When I called them yesterday to make the next three months' worth of payment, the manager, in the most ambiguous way possible, indicated they will refund the $18 if I send them another copy of my renters insurance. Furthermore, they never provided me with a copy of the rental agreement or any kind of similar documentation that shows the agreed-upon rental rate, or proof of payments that insures they won't re-neg on the agreed-upon rate, which is now very worrying given the number of comments on this Yelp page touching on the exact same issue. When I recently went…read moreto remove belongings, I found numerous droppings in and around my stored property that appeared consistent with rodent activity. I raised the issue with the facility manager. During our conversation, the manager acknowledged that the facility had a rat infestation. I had not been informed of any rat or rodent infestation when I rented the unit. I am particularly concerned because customers store household goods here and may unknowingly move affected boxes and belongings into their homes or other facilities. I have photographs documenting what I observed. I have reported the matter to the appropriate Fairfax County authorities so they can determine whether an inspection or other action is warranted. Prospective renters may want to ask management specifically about any current or recent rodent problems before placing their belongings in storage.

Great space; bad customer service!…read more Storage was good for four months and then the rent increased without warning. The agreement states that the owner must provide written notice of any price increase. AFTER they increased my rent and charged an additional month, without warning, I was informed that I can no longer practice drumming. I sent multiple emails and left multiple voice mails and never received a response. I request clarification regarding two matters that have recently arisen with my storage unit but never received a response. Issues in detail below. First, the January billing amount increased from the usual $96 to $153, representing an approximate 50% increase. This change was made without the required 30‑day written notice outlined in Section B of the rental agreement. To date, I have not received any written communication explaining or authorizing this adjustment. Second, my son and I were verbally instructed to discontinue playing drums during office hours. No explanation was provided, and there is no language in the rental agreement that prohibits musical instruments or the playing of instruments. After reviewing Section A, I found no terms that relate to or restrict this activity. I respectfully requested written clarification (multiple times via email and voicemail) regarding both the billing increase and the basis for the verbal instruction concerning drum use. There is, and was, NO response on how these matters can be resolved in accordance with the terms of the agreement.
