Exceptional! Hardest working crew I've met. They moved us twice in one year. Experience was consistent -- they work hard, they help with everything, they are courteous and treat your goods as if they owned them. Alex and his wife worked with us as our schedule was very fluid. I think I changed the dates and requirements 3 times and they accommodated my needs HIRE THESE GUYS - THEY ARE WORTH EVERY PENNY read more

I used American to move my 1 BR apt into a 2 BR from Fairfax Co to Arlington back in JAN 22, and they were fantastic. Easy to communicate with, prompt, and graciously helped me pack my last few stray things that hadn't made it into boxes. Owner Alex and 3-4 additional crew worked super quickly though were careful with everything and everyone was kind. Rate was competitive and easy to understand by interacting with them via Yelp (I used the Project feature to find providers, which is a great function). Hope to use them again for a next move! read more

I was relocating to another state and doing the majority in my own. Lots of purging to minimize moving pains. I was putting my place on the market and needed it empty to be cleaned. American Smart Moving helped move the heavier things into storage and then moved all the storage stuff to my new home. The communication was amazing. The guys arrived on time and stayed on task the whole time. The price of the move was very reasonable and they go the extra mile. read more

They were great, both on packing day and moving day. I would use them again, and I will be recommending them to my friends and family.

these guys are the BEST moving company I've used. Hard working honest and helpful. Very respectful and reasonable in costs

We hired ASM for our recent sterling to Leesburg move. So glad we did. Owner Alex came out in person to give us a free estimate, which gave us confidence in the quoted amount over other services that quoted us based on an online form only. He also gave good advice: the more organized you are, the more organized we will be. The company is very responsive to emails/texts/calls, so communication was smooth and easy. The moving team was great. They were really efficient and respectful of our stuff. They even ended up finishing an hour early so our final bill came in under estimate. Definitely a good value for the price, and we will use them again the next time we move. read more

We used this company for a 125-mile, whole-house move. From start to finish, it was a very positive experience. The representatives were clear about what to expect and cost. During the move, everyone from the company showed a great amount of care and were very responsive. They went above and beyond in a number of ways. Highly recommend! read more

We hired them for a second job this year and nothing had changed in terms of service from the year prior. They were professional, on-time, careful, and mindful of our personal belongings. They took the time to follow our instructions carefully and most importantly had a very VERY positive attitude when there were some logistic issues on our end. Just showing up on time with the correct amount of staff to do the job is enough for four stars nowadays, but the fact that everything got done in the timeframe that it was supposed to and nothing was damaged or broken automatically calls for five stars. read more

American Smart Moving is truly a great company. Alex (owner) and his crews have been nothing short of amazing. Our family has used them 9 times for moves in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and North Carolina both locally and intra state. They have been very responsive and accommodating of our schedules, meticulous, efficient, professional and considerate of our homes and belongings. I highly recommend them. read more

This is my second time using American Smart Moving Services and I can't say enough positive things about them. From the moment you call them you are treated with professionalism and care. The crews are very careful and diligent and work extremely hard not to waste time. They are very fair with pricing and are an incredible value for what they provide. They will 100% get a call from me if I have any moving needs and I will make sure to recommend them to any friends or family that need moving assistance. read more

While there were some issues brought about by miscommunication from the managers, the review is based on the physical job performed.. We hired them for both packing and moving. The ground level packing and moving teams were accommodating and competent during interactions with them. Due to the amount of stuff being moved, it required more workers and it took more time than originally thought. And on moving day they did a great job fitting everything onto the trucks. In the end we thought it was worth the cost. Another convenience was the quick responses and communication, and even the free estimate which they scheduled very soon after contacting them. However, after they packed, we found several items just left on floors next to boxes, and even an entire half of a closet that was left untouched. Then as we unpacked the boxes at the new house, we found two things worth note: 1) while they did use packing materials, there were still several boxes in which heavy items had been put directly on top of fragile and breakable items. (Example, they packed a laptop computer, in a large box, using the laptop as the base, piling everything in on it. 2) the movers put the large (unpacked items) and any boxes we directed, mostly in the correct rooms. But for at least half the packed boxes, even though the packers marked them, they ended up in completely different rooms than they should have been (ex. Boxes marked dining room placed in the office. Masterbedroom boxes in the basement. Family room boxes in the kids bedroom.) They got everything from point A to point B. There was minimal damage (some broken table tiles on our patio table was the only thing we noticed when they unloaded at the new house, on moving day), but they do carry insurance and I know it wasn't intentional. We are able to submit a claim directly to them, and they'll deal with the insurance. Pricewise they were a good deal compared to other companies charging for the same services. read more

I have moved all over the country growing up, and have moved between Az and Va four times now. ASM and Alex have been the best movers I have ever dealt with through the years. They came highly recommend from a friend of mine and now am recommending them to my other friends in the area. Before they started, they made sure to protect the rugs and stairs. Each piece of larger furniture was wrapped to protect the walls. They took the stress out of moving and couldn't recommend them enough.! read more

These guys are amazing. Attention to detail, friendly, strong, thoughtful, well priced

My wife Mia and I were very happy to work with American Smart moving services in our move from Northern Virginia to Austin Texas 1500 miles away. From the very start, Alex was very communicative with us from the quote to the day of the move. Clara took over on the day of the move, took very clear photos for us (as we weren't there), packed everything neatly and properly. They also stored our goods for three months. Clara was excellent. On the day of the move, the goods were delivered on time and very neatly to our new place in Austin in a very efficient manner. The two movers were on time and highly professional and fast. Not a single remnant of the move. We highly recommend American Smart moving to anyone looking for a highly professional moving company. Worth every dollar so use them when you can! read more

Unbelievable experience from start to finish. Great communication, great beginning and most importantly great finish. We are moved and it was a long day but woke up in one house and we are now fully in our new house. Over the top service. Thank you all! read more

From Scheduling to Moving Day American Smart Moving Services was a pleasure to work with. They (Clara) were very responsive and worked with me to schedule my unpacking within a limited window of time. When my moving day came, I received a phone call asking if the team could arrive earlier than anticipated. The 3-man squad (Jairo, Criss, and Hector) arrived ready to jump into action, double checking where I wanted things placed, they were pleasant, careful, and considerate. My belongings were thoughtfully placed as directed and I felt very comfortable with their concern over my life's possessions. They were precisely within the scheduled time allotment, faster than I had anticipated and the fee was quite reasonable. I would absolutely recommend this company, as my experience was excellent. Thank you ASMS, I will be reaching out again next year! - Cris read more

I had a scheduled a move with another company and due to a family situation I had to cancel. When I called back 45 minutes late to see if they could still do the move I was told "I already canceled the guys." I then called American Smart Moving Services and got an immediate Yes! not only did I get a yes, but a much better pricing. Everyone is very professional and efficient. it was a true pleasure working with them. I highly recommend them for your next move. read more

We recently had a complicated in-town move involving multiple locations and several large, heavy and delicate pieces of antique furniture. We reached out to American Smart Moving for the job and can't say enough good things about them. Alex and Clara were quick to respond with quotes and honest, accurate information. We were up-front about our concerns with some of the antique items and they helped create an atmosphere of trust and confidence in their work. On the day of the move they were early to the job-site (early is on time in our industry, so big plus there!) and were prompt, friendly and incredibly professional. They knocked out our move quickly and safely and we were amazed at their excellent work. Alex and team have a well-deserved reputation for great work. We would urge anyone to use their services, they will not disappoint! read more

American Smart Moving company is the best moving company I have used thus far, hands down. Alex came by to provide me an estimate and explained the entire moving process and pricing, and the reason behind every cost item. The moving team did an amazing and meticulous job packing and moving the items into the truck. This was a long distance move from VA FL. The movers arrived on time and carefully moved all boxed and items to the desired location. The movers were very patient and did a great job. I highly recommend this moving company for your short or long distance move. Thank you Alex, Clara and moving team! read more

I recently moved from a 2 bedroom apartment (w/ 2 storage rooms) in the city to a 3 bedroom townhome with FOUR floors in the suburbs. I chose American Smart Moving Services because of their great reviews and quick response to my inquiries and quote request on Yelp. What was really impressive is that Alex, the owner of the company, offered a same day in person estimate for a last minute move. I was hesitant at first because I have never used movers before. What I liked about American Smart Moving Services is their honesty and professionalism. The estimate was on point and simple! No hidden fees. I used 4 movers and it took them 7 hours to complete (including 1-2hr travel time). We had A LOT of stuff to move! On the day of the move, the guys worked fast, encouraged us to relax while they handled the heavy lifting, they covered the flooring and never complained even after going up and down 4 flights of stairs (which I felt bad about). They would carry big furniture on their backs! I was mind blown and out of breath just watching them. They were very strategic in placing things on the truck so that taking the things down was easier. They were also very careful with fragile items and careful not to scratch the new walls. I can go on and on. Basically, I am very happy with my decision to go with American Smart Moving Services and highly recommend them to everyone who needs help moving. I would hire them again and they even assemble big ikea furniture which I actually need soon so I'll be giving them another call. Great job guys and thank you making our move a smooth one! read more

I will be recommending American Smart Moving Services to everyone I know! The team was AMAZING. My move started out rough - I couldn't get into my storage unit so I asked if we could change plans a bit and the guys had absolutely no problem adjusting for me. Not to mention, it was snowing and we had close to an hour and 1/2 drive to my new residence. They were SO FAST, so careful with all of my belongings, and did everything they could to make the move as smooth as possible. The movers, and even the customer service representative that handled my payment transaction over the phone were all so friendly! It was a rough start on my part and bad weather, but we got some laughs in and I am so grateful for all of their help. For the quality of people, work and effort, size of the truck in addition to the distance they had to drive, their pricing is unbeatable! Just so happy! read more

These guys are great! Alex came out and quoted the job (emptying a townhouse and a storage unit to move into a house) using a 26' truck. I told him that everything would not fit, since I had moved the same amount of stuff the year before with a different company and that company had to send a second truck. When it turned out that I was correct, he immediately sent a second truck (so the move wasn't delayed) and charged a very nominal additional fee. As to the movers themselves, David and his crew were unbelievably hard working, as well as very pleasant. They did everything we asked them (including moving a couple of things twice, since we changed our minds where they should go) and never gave any hint of annoyance. There was also virtually no damage to the furniture or the house. They protect the floors and are very careful with the walls. I would recommend them wholeheartedly based on their work, but it also turns out that their prices are very reasonable. A friend of mine was charged about 25% more for a job that was about 1/2 the size. I don't intend to move again, but if I ever did, they are the only company I would contact. read more

I highly recommend American Smart Moving Services. I used their services to pack up my household and move me to a new home. They were professional, responsive, clean, respectful, careful, diligent, hard working, and personable. Alex provided a clear and competitive estimate, and worked alongside his crew on packing day. They packed up my entire household carefully and efficiently. On moving day, the crew put down cardboard and runners to protect the hardwood and carpets in both homes. On both days the crews arrive 15 minutes early and worked diligently throughout the entire process. Outstanding professional service. read more

I used this team to move out of a house and into an apartment along with loading most of our stuff into a PODS for future relocation to Florida. I don't give a 5 star rating that easily but these guys are good. One thing I liked that Alex came in person to offer us a complimentary estimate, and that I could pay my deposit via a check and not a credit card. We hired their services to move within the NoVA area. Alex and 4 other guys arrived at 7:15 AM, and began promptly at 7:30 AM. These guys were kinda skinny looking but turned out to be pretty darn strong and very hard working. I don't think they took a single break till their 15 minute lunch break. Our move took a total of 8 hours, during which they wrapped all our stuff, un-assembled and reassembled the bed room furniture and some tables etc., loaded and unloaded the stuff, and also took some moving boxes away that we were going to trash. All in all a great moving experience and I would highly recommend this company without any reservations ! read more

I had gotten two quotes for this (my last) move. I found American Smart Moving Services LLC on Yelp, sorting by "Recommended", so off to a good start when they were ranked by previous experiences. Alex got in touch immediately, and after a long day at work - came by the house to inventory and quote. He followed up immediately after to ask if I had any additional questions, and was patient as I'd been quoted by my previous longtime mover. AMS won me on responsiveness and value. Bonus that the team was on time to start work at 9am for my move 2 hours away. The men were polite, professional and hardworking. My items arrived safely and I couldn't be more pleased! Thank you Alex!! read more

We had a great experience with Alex and team -- both the communication beforehand and day of. The pricing was clear and straightforward, and they were even willing to make an extra stop to pick up our friend's grill. What impressed me most was that they really cared for our belongings -- they wrapped up everything in moving blankets and tape, and shrink-wrapped certain items as well. Our new house has carpet on the stairs and they even put down tape to protect the carpet when they were moving the grill through. They also wore masks the entire time for COVID purposes. All in all, a very positive experience. read more

After being stood up by my original moving company Manny Movers on the day of my move, I was panicked. I called all around and no one could make it that day. Until I called American Smart. I booked my move with American Smart Moving Services, and we are extremely happy with our decision! I received a competitive quote on Yelp, and was in touch with Alex and Carla before my move. 4 movers assisted us for 5 hours, packing and moving all of our belongings from a junior 2-bedroom apartment to a 3-bedroom condo 25 minutes away. The movers used floor runners to protect our floors, brought their own boxes and helped us pack up our kitchen and bedroom, wrapped all of our belongings in cloth and plastic wrap, and placed all of the boxes in their respective rooms at our new home. We will definitely recommend American Smart Moving Services to our local friends, and will also use this moving company for our future moves! read more

If you want to call this company make sure think twice and read carefully their website and contract if there's any, they put a wrong information in their website to get a deal, their minimum charge In their website is 2 hour labor and 1 hour driving total 399 but a lady on the phone said you are not getting 10% new customers discount and their website is old, and if you pay deposit you won't able to get it back, but workers were nice and did a good job. read more

What a phenomenal team I had for the pack and pick up and then the delivery. Alex was my team lead for both legs and I can you tell I could not be happier, reasonably priced and they were super careful with packing, etc. I will definitely consider them for any of my regional moving needs. In addition, the initial customer engagement with Clara was unsurpassed. She truly is a great logistics coordinator. I was sold on hiring this company based on the initial engagement with her. read more

I move a lot for work, and I've lived now in 5 different houses/apts in the DMV. I'm also in my late 30's, so I'm well past the point where I need to be lifting boxes into a Uhaul and offering my friends pizza and beer. I hire movers, I've hired many movers, and by far, these guys are my favorite. Alex is an awesome lead. He has great communication, transparent pricing, and a positive helpful attitude. Both times I've relied on Alex and his team, they've knocked it out quickly, carefully, and efficiently. It boggled my mind both times how quickly they could tear through the items to be loaded and unloaded like locusts. Movers charge by the hour, but these guys never milk that. The hourly rate is eminently reasonable and there were no "gotchas." They provided free wardrobe boxes which is just so helpful. I bought my own boxes which they were happy to use in helping pack up the remaining items I hadn't gotten to yet. I can totally recommend these guys. They're legit. read more

I used Alex and his team to move a few items from my house, including a treadmill. When they tried to get the treadmill out the front door, some damage was done to the hardwood floor because no blankets, towels, or rugs were put down to protect it. The damage wasn't a big deal to me - it could easily be fixed. I sent an e-mail to see how to proceed with getting it fixed or getting compensated for the damage. I was assured that they would have a contractor come out to see me to assess the damage. It is now one month since the move. No one has come to assess the damage. Alex has stopped responding to my e-mails. When I called to ask him to resolve the situation, he all but hung up on me saying that he was too busy because he was working (understandable, but he handled it very rudely) and did not ever return my call. If the contractor had come out and communication had been continued by Alex, I'd have rated them probably at four stars or maybe more! However, I feel that this situation was handled extremely unprofessionally and I feel very cheated. I would not recommend using them. I have used other companies that handled damages to the house in a much more professional manner and this was not at all what I would have expected from a moving company. The last communication from Alex was July 4. I have sent additional e-mails on July 4, 10, and 12 with still no response to any of those. If you want a worry-free moving experience, I would suggest looking elsewhere. read more

These guys are great. Real professionals. No hidden costs, no additive charges or extended time. They reviewed our things, they provided an estimate for how long the move would take, how much it would cost, how many guys needed, and that was exactly how the day went. No surprises. They were also extremely friendly, upbeat, and considerate with all of our belongings. They helped put a few pieces of furniture together. They helped take away larger trash items and chairs that we weren't planning to keep. They made the entire day so easy and stress free. I highly recommend using this team!! read more
