Unprofessional management, rude and don't care about clients. I told them the sq footage of the house and how much stuff we have. We agreed on 3 guys and big truck. When we booked the appointment the dispatch said the guys would arrive around 12pm. On moving day 2 guys and small truck arrive around 2:30pm. He calls management on speaker phone, I let him know we had asked for big truck and 3 guys. Also we have been waiting for over 2 hours. It's the same guy who set up the appointment and he's rude af when I express my concerns. After trying to figure out what to do at this point, he tells his guys to leave and they'll come back with bigger team. Dispatch calls me back and they offer to send 5 guys at higher rate and I said okay just send them because it's getting late and we need to move now. Then they want to charge me double now at a fixed rate, it's already almost 4pm. They explained "nobody wants to move you right now it's late and it's going to be dark soon." Whose fault is that?! So now I have to delay my move another day, call around last minute and unpack some of my stuff. Mistakes can happen but at least treat and talk to your clients like they matter. Worst moving experience I have ever had in my life. I do not feel like the movers I was sent were experienced. They roughly handled/ mishandled boxes labeled fragile or keep upright, I had to help them load items or push carts, and they did not use the tape and materials I provided them causing me to be charged extra. Yeah. I can't recommend them. I used them to move my things to storage then back out. They smashed my 51 inch plasma. Had to throw it out. They said because I didn't get the upgraded insurance, which I was never offered, the best they could offer me was $50.00 refund...for my 51 inch smashed plasma. I spent around 2k on the move with them. When I asked when I would have been offered an upgrade I insurance, she said it was "when I checked out online." All of the business I did with them was over the phone. I was never offered an upgrade in insurance on the phone. Never even knew insurance was involved. They didn't mention it until I told them about my plasma. They also broke a glass lamp...but I let that go. They also charged my credit card twice. Not a big deal..they reversed the charges when i called. But in light of the plasma situation..I'd say proceed with caution. read more

We needed furniture moved around in the house. It's 3 floors so we needed help getting furniture up and down the stairs. Mighty Movers were the most affordable in the area. $120 an hour with a 2 hour minimum & travel time = $300. A really good deal. Simon & Luis were our movers. They gave off good vibes, I trusted them right away. His customer service was top notch by going above and beyond with his pricing and fairness to discount as needed. The movers did a phenomenal job! The first thing I want to make sure and mention, is that the movers, Juan and Luis were top notch professionals. If I had only worked with them, this would be a 5-star review, easily. They were efficient, careful, and quite honestly, impressive with their handling of all of our valuables. Nothing was so much as scratched, and watching them wrap everything in blankets and tape things up was very reassuring. We had originally been nervous about hiring someone to handle our breakables but we were put at ease as soon as we saw them go to work. My complaint is about Cliff. First off, I called around to a lot of moving companies to gather quotes based on the size of the apartment and our inventory. I sent pictures and lists to everyone and many of the quotes came back at around $1,700. Cliff's was similar at $1,600, and I let him know I'd think about it. Shortly after that call, I received an email that he could do it for $1,400, flat rate, which was a bargain! I quickly (and gratefully) signed off on that offer, and thought, how nice!! Fast forward to our actual move, and the truck that was brought was too small to accommodate all of our things. They brought a 16' truck, and the pictures attached show how much was left behind. The movers, being the professionals they were, did their best to prioritize the big stuff and stuff the truck as full as possible for us. Fortunately, we needed to return the next day anyway for a dr. appt. The original plan had been to clean up the apartment and then let the listing agent take over by Monday. Since so much was left behind, we were going to have to change the plan to move the rest of our things somehow. I got a call from the company that they needed payment for the remaining balance and I asked Cliff if something could be done to help us with the remaining load. Either a discount, since we were expecting everything to be moved, and would now have to rent a truck on our own to move things, or help getting the rest moved, as was originally agreed. He charged us the full amount owed on the move and said the quote should have been higher for a 20' truck based on the pictures and list of items and asked who quoted us... I told him it was him. He said his staff should have followed up, etc. etc. Then he proceeded to admit that he changed the quote from $1,600 and a 20' truck to $1,400 and a 16' truck because he reviewed the pictures and list again and felt it could be done at the second quote. Clearly, he was mistaken, and...that's not my fault? Anyway, it felt like he was trying to blame his team for the admin issue and I wasn't crazy about that, but as long as it's sorted, no big deal I guess. He seemed to want to make it right, and I was very happy that I had called and asked in the first place because I almost hadn't bothered. He told me he'd scramble up a team to come back over same-day and help us with the rest of the items that needed to be moved, and I was ecstatic! I was actually going to offer to pay the difference of what should have been charged for the mix-up in the quote and leave a glowing review for his effort to make things right. The problem happened when the movers arrived back at the property without a truck. They asked, where's your truck? Our boss said you had a truck for us to help you load up. I called Cliff while standing in the parking lot with a confused team of movers and told him I don't have a truck, and I thought he was sending one to make things right? He turned a full 180 in his attitude working with me. We had a good rapport leading up to this point, and I thought we understood each other. He dropped all professionalism and told me he had been led to believe that I had a U-Haul, as if his misunderstanding and lack of clear communication was my fault. I never once said I had a U-Haul, and he should not have "assumed." I corrected him and told him that I had said I would be disappointed if I had to get a U-Haul since I had already paid for a full move. First, he said, "well what did you think this was?" Then that he's not sending his guys all the way back to Williamsburg, and that he was just going to have them come fill up our U-Haul at no cost. I asked, well what would it take for us to get a truck then? I needed a truck, there was no way around that. He said he wasn't going to have them go all the way back to get a truck and then come back, etc. That's a whole new move. Then he said he had hoped "to be done with this." I was at a loss. My husband and I had to apologetically send Juan and Luis back on a wasted trip, and now we're back to square one, trying to figure out how to move this last load of stuff, which we have already paid to have moved. In Cliff's own words, "wow that's a lot of stuff they left behind." In the end, we paid for the full move, but were left with this. As someone who runs a small business myself, I don't make this review lightly, but I would also never treat a customer this way. read more

Might Movers saved the day and my back. I canvassed the local mover community to find someone who could move an extremely heavy piece of exercise equipment from my garage to my basement gym. Even after partially disassembling it, it still weighed over 400 pounds and the weight wasn't every evenly distributed. There was no way I could have moved it by myself. I asked five separate movers - including a company that says they specialize in moving exercise equipment! - for a quote. Mighty Movers was the ONLY company that said yes and they gave me a fixed price quotes that I think was an absolute bargain. Their guys were exactly on time and able to flex when we had a slight unexpected hiccup. They moved the equipment efficiently and caused zero damage to either the equipment or my walls and floors. I used Mighty Movers to move into my first owned home and it was a huge mistake! We discussed potentially having them pack ahead of time, but I decided to pack myself. I was told that they'd have materials on the truck just in case I needed their services. On the day of the move, I was behind on packing and willing to pay Mighty Movers to finish the job, but they didn't bring any boxes, forcing me to continue packing while the movers worked. While the 3 guys seemed like they were working pretty hard, they were constantly asking me what was going to stay and what was going to go. After some time, I heard one of the guys say to the other that this was their last elevator load and then they would go to the new place. Little did I know that they left a bunch of stuff in the closet including items I asked them to take and saw them put on their dolly. When we arrive at the house, they got to unpacking and caused some minor damage. I was unaware of the stuff they hid/left behind at the old place. As they left, I tipped generously, thinking the move had gone well when it hadn't. When I called to address my grievances, the owner basically asked why I didn't supervise the movers appropriately. If the movers needed a supervisor, then Mighty Movers should have sent one, as other companies I've moved with have done in the past. I paid Mighty Movers to move me and they failed the most basic condition: take all the stuff with you. Mighty Movers refused to take responsibility for their movers behavior. When I asked them to fix the damage, they insisted that they could send their own contractor or give me $50. I had to press them to tell me who their contractor was before they sent a person I didn't know to my home. When I tried to check references, I discovered their contractor had no online presence at all, just a Virginia business license. When I asked them to use a contractor I chose, they insisted it was their guy or $50. I took the $50 and ended up spending $150 to repair the damage. As a result of Mighty Movers leaving stuff in my old place, I had to finish the move myself, including renting a uHAUL panel van. Mighty Movers refused to cover any of my additional moving costs incurred. I hired Mighty Movers, paying $185/hr plus fees, thinking I was paying for quality. I was wrong. I got my stuff from truck to apartment but not without issues. 1. 40 min late. 2. Arrived at wrong entrance requiring them to back up and turn around and park. This took 10 min. They started the clock on arrival to property. Actual work was 5 min over 2 hour minimum. So at the end I got charged and extra 30 min for less than 5 min extra work. 3. movers paid no attention to the "this side up" instructions. These guys rock! I've used this company twice -- once to move literally to the apartment across the hallway, and then later to move into a house. For the first move they were fast but careful, and gave me a great rate. But I really saw how great this company is for the bigger move -- these guys came to my place at 9:00AM, and spent nearly the whole day working nonstop to pack me up. I hardly had to do anything, even prep, compared to what their crew of 3 did in one day. Packed, moved, unpacked and reassembled, with hardly a break in between. I don't know how they do it. TLTR Workers are good! Management need some work... The only redeeming quality were the movers, some dishes broke and their boss didnt want to cover it. The movers offered to pay for it out of their own pockets. I declined because I wanted their boss' money not theirs. Integrity is a word I would describe the movers but not the management. They dont offer military discounts even thought it states on yelp they do. The management team had trouble finding it so I added a screenshot of it.They honored the discount after I asked... it wasnt much and they are trying to remove the discount. Complained about my neighbors using the elevator. They took an extraordinary amount of time to move me. They complained about the distance. They threw my furniture into the truck. Movers showed up with no furniture blankets, no floor or door covering as stated in your agreements. In addition, they didn't bring the requested packing materials to pack any of my accessories or bedding. My accessories had to be wrapped in my own personal towels to keep items from breaking in transit, my bedding and pillows were wrapped in brown packing tape then wrapped in plastic in one bedroom. In the other bedroom my brand new White comforter was shrink wrapped to a desk. The movers themselves were nice, arrived early and worked quickly. I'm not sure where the break down on supplies happed but I was not happy to have to wrap all my items in towels and that my bedding will now be ruined. read more
