Excellent service! Showed up on time and treated all items with care. Will definitely hire again and would highly recommend.

Lamont Small Moves recently helped me move from one storage unit to another at a different site. I was concerned because the new unit was smaller. But not to worry! The team efficiently yet carefully loaded my belongings, and upon arrival to the new unit, worked out the best way to arrange my belongings so they all fit in an even smaller space. Everything was treated with care. They were very hard working and finished early. A pleasure to work with! Thank you! I highly recommend. read more

We hired Lamont based on a recommendation from a more reputable moving company. Unfortunately, they did not live up to their reputation. We had boxes that were clearly marked to be placed in the bedroom that were only placed in the downstairs. Thus, we ended up having to move all these boxes ourselves. We asked them to assemble our relatively simple bed frame. They told us that it was "too complicated". All said, they did half of a job in an hour and charged us for the full two hour minimum. When we asked for a 50 percent refund, they declined to provide it, although they claimed "they stand by their work". read more

I cannot say enough about how pleased we were with Lamont Small Moves. They were careful every step of the way. They were professional, friendly, and went out of their way every time the opportunity arose. I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again. read more

I cannot say enough about the services of Lamont's Small Moves. They were hired to pack a rental truck for an out of state move. From the time I reached out to them for information until the day of the moved everything went perfectly. They were extremely conscientious, professional and knowledgeable. When we got to our final destination and began unpacking the truck I was even more impressed. Not one item was damaged or had even moved during the 10 hour ride. I highly recommend this company. read more

Lamont is the real deal. Professional, on time, doing a very difficult job very well and most of all he's honest. Made a small scratch in an item, probably unavoidable and not only brought it to my attention but offered to replace the item. Doesn't hurt that he also is a nice guy and personable. And did I mention that his fees are very reasonable. All small businesses should be run like Lamont's. Highly recommend! read more

Lamont handled my studio apartment move from the 4th floor to the 8th floor of the same building in Washington, DC on September 15, 2024 with professionalism, efficiency, and fantastic communication skills. Lamont and his assistant did a great job and I can recommend them both enthusiastically and without reservation. I will definitely rely on Lamont if I move again. Also, the price was right, and much less expensive than the "large move" companies. read more

Outstanding!! From start to finish, Lamont was active and involved with my move plans. I will use him again and have already recommended him to several people and will continue to do so. He showed up on time, introduced me to his guys and we got started. Since this was a move from one condo to another in the same building, I first showed them where we were moving to and then my unit where the furniture and rest of the boxes were. They then got to work immediately. They completed my entire move in just under 2 hours. I was moving from a 2 bedroom unit to the same, but with much more space. His team worked well, with lots of energy and were very friendly. I used Venmo to pay which made life easy and tipped each of the guys individually. Lamont was truly a professional and I highly recommend him and his guys for your small moves. He came highly recommended for a labor only move from the moving company I used 3 1/2 years ago. His rates are great and extremely reasonable. Highly recommend, great job and thanks making my move such an easy experience. read more

I reached out to Lamont's Small Moves to move some gym equipment (Peloton bike and weight bench) from my top floor to my basement. They quickly responded with a quote, and were even able to schedule the move for the same evening. They arrived on time, let me know when they were about 30 minutes out and quickly took care of the job. Working with them was super easy and I see why they have so many other positive reviews. Highly recommended. read more

Deserves every one of these 5 stars! Responsive, professional, communicates any deviation in schedule promptly. I 2nd many of the comments by other reviewers - prompt, professional, pleasant, efficient. I had a challenging job of moving a HUGE sectional sofa up a level in my townhome. This sectional was bought originally for a SFH twice the size of my current TH. He had to get creative to make it happen, but it's now in its new room on the 2nd level. I highly recommend Lamont and his crew / company. Consummate professional and I will absolutely call him again should I have a similar need. Happy to have such a great local small business to recommend! read more

Lamont small moves is the perfect, affordable solution for smaller moves. I had to move from one unit to another in the same building and they helped to get the job done. From the start I corresponded directly with the owner over email and he was very responsive and answered all my questions. On the day of the move the owner himself and an assistant showed up on time, were professional, and took care to place items exactly where I wanted. As a bonus, the owner agreed to come back another day to help mount my tv to the wall, again for a very affordable rate. Can't say enough positive things about Lamont small moves, highly recommend them for your next small move, you won't be disappointed. read more

Great movers! I hired a 2 man crew for 2 hours and they were quick and efficient. You must hire at at least a 2 hour minimum with an additional cost for any time over 2 hours. That being said, Lamont and his crew completed loading my vehicle in under 2 hours. The team was efficient and knew their stuff! I recommend. They're also very competitively priced for the service they provide. read more

Had a great experience with them! They showed up promptly on time and finished the small move within two hours. Very responsive through the booking process and when I had to change the date at the last minute they were able to accommodate me. Highly recommended! read more

I cannot say enough great things about Lamont and his crew. I've moved 7 times in the last 10 years, and have hired movers for 5 of those moves, often with different crews doing the loading and unloading. As a consequence, I have a fair bit of experience with crews. While many outfits have 5 star reviews, it is rare that they actually provide five star service. Lamont did, from start to finish: -communication from the jump was very good. From the initial contact (which we did all via email), Lamont was responsive and answered all of my many questions. He was very pleasant to deal with, and confirmed the move the day before. -day of: movers arrived on time, ready to go. No complaining, from any of them. They were extremely polite and Covid-compliant (masking the whole time, despite the heat). And they listened carefully, making sure to place items where I requested in the house. -a separate word about care: Lamont and his crew took the utmost care with my things. They were extremely careful unloading the truck, and with every single item that went into the house--whether the item was heavy or light. I was initially worried because we have a few heavy items, including a large, unwieldy antique chest and a large, heavy, motorized sit/stand desk. They had no problems navigating both items up the stairs. They also took care going down some very narrow basement steps. I have never felt more comfortable with a moving crew handling my things. -payment was a breeze, and they were very transparent about both payment methods and accurate with respect to the quote. I feel incredibly fortunate to have used them, and highly, highly recommend Lamont and his team. If you need movers, you cannot do better. read more

Lamont is a rock star! Quick to communicate, scheduled us quickly, reasonably priced, and so pleasant and professional. He has an amazing spatial sense and was highly efficient moving our furniture within our house when some of our floors were being redone (and then moved it all back). He handled our antiques with thoughtfulness and care - clearly he is very experienced with these. And he was very attentive to details overall - taking care not to nick the furniture or the walls, etc. To note, his company is not insured. That said, I was thoroughly confident in his expertise and wouldn't hesitate to hire him again. Can't thank Lamont and Jonah enough for making things easy, pleasant, and efficient! read more

LSM arrived on time, with the appropriate 'can do' attitude! Nothing seemed to stop them during an extensive in-house move up and down four flights of stairs, including a COMPLICATED home office move from the basement to the attic, (including metal filing cabinets!) We highly recommend LaMont and his team and will hire them again! read more

Lamont did an amazing job for our small move. We had just finished our basement so we had some furniture and boxes to move down there. He was responsive to my Yelp inquiry and the price was very reasonable. They were running a few minutes late the day of the move but he texted me to let me know. He and a second mover were efficient and hard working. They helped us disassemble and move a heavy foosball table. And they finished everything in less time than we expected. Definitely recommend! read more

Friendly, communicative, and hardworking team! Would 100% hire them again to help us move.

I highly recommend this group of professionals. They are not guys that just do the heavy lifting. The exercise care while moving the goods, making sure not to ding furniture, doorways, etc. I used them for a small move (basically 1 bdrm + living rm and dining table) which they completed in excellent fashion. I plan on using them again when I have additional goods moved to my location. read more

As I got my house ready for sale, I contacted Lamont about moving a lot of boxed items from my garage to a rental storage unit. We exchanged a few emails, had a call together and agreed on a date and time. As promised, he contacted me the day before the job to reconfirm our schedule. He was very understanding and agreeable when I needed to change the scope of the job. He and a helper showed up on time, did a tremendous job packing my rented cargo van and then worked tirelessly on a humid hot day to get the job finished quickly, even though they were being paid by the hour. My items were handled carefully and moved expertly. The communication and price were excellent. I highly recommend Lamont Small Movers read more

Lamont's Small Moves made moving so easy! Lamont and his team are so knowledgeable, reliable, and prompt. He assisted my sister with a move months ago and recently he did my boyfriend and I's move. They truly go above and beyond; great customer service! Highly recommend this service for anyone moving in NoVA or DC. Thank you so much for your help with our move! read more

We have used Lamont's Small Moves three times to move heavy items inside our home. Each time it was great! One time was to move some new and heavy bedroom furniture up one floor. Second time was to move a heavy treadmill down two floors. They also helped us move an old very heavy TV. Each time we had two guys, one of them Lamont. Very nice, professional, and efficient. Straight to work. Highly recommend! read more

I've moved 30 times in my life and used movers about half of those moves. Lamont and his team are by far the best movers I've used. Professional, courteous, and no-nonsense, Lamont and his team took care of my property, and packed it in a way that really made me feel secure about my belongings. Please consider Lamont's crew for your next move! read more

Here's the deal... Lamont is AMAZING. We had a large, very heavy and awkward object and unfortunately a smaller doorway. Lamont strategized until he came up with a way to make it work. He is strong, thoughtful, careful and very professional. He knows what he is doing and executes it extraordinarily well. He is also a really nice guy. His prices are totally reasonable. I am beyond impressed with him and his team (Chris was also great) and will absolutely use them again. read more

One of the best moving experiences I have ever had. I have moved several times before so it was nice to work with professionals. Lamont and his movers were on time, professional and courteous. I will be using this moving company again. I also love supporting Black owned businesses. read more

Cheers and thank you again to Lamont's Small Moves, and to Lamont himself who showed up with his colleague right on time to help us move a very awkward and heavy armoire that we'd recently had delivered. The armoire was just going to be too much for my wife and myself to handle; we'd already tweaked both of our backs moving into our new house days before, and it was time to enlist the help of a professional. They were as careful as could be moving this very large and heavy piece of furniture through a garage door, up a step and over a threshold, down the hall, 180 degree turn and up the stairs, 180 degree turn and up a couple more steps, etc, etc. It was a pain, and they got it done. Worth every penny and highly recommended. Lamont -- we hope to see you again soon for another set of helping hands! read more

Lamont and his team are the best moving crew you can ever have. They were punctual, diligent and experienced in moving things around ensuring your stuff is given the best care. He had been busy with customers but stayed responsive even when I contacted him about the potential snow at 11PM before the moving day. I heard from friends that many moving companies would act slowly so that they can charge you more based on hours spent. But Lamont's team was so efficient and was working non-stop as soon as they arrived. Our eight pieces of heavy weight furniture including a 350-pound trainer were all moved and settled within two hours. Hiring Lamont's team should have saved us a few hundred dollars at least. We are super happy with the experience and would recommend Lamont to anyone who is in need of moving help. read more

Lamont is the hands-down man. He and his crew did a great job helping us move around a bunch of household items including an armoire, china cabinet, and several couches. They went above and beyond to be careful for example by wrapping the armoire, which I didn't think was necessary but am glad they did. I'd give six stars if I could! read more

Super easy to work with and great communication. I used Lamont's team for a large single item move and I was appreciative that they took the time to wrap the couch to protect it during the move, and how quickly they were able to deliver it. Price wise I found it to be about average compared to other quotes I received for the job. If you're looking for assistance with a small move, I recommend! read more

I just had Lamont's Small Moves over to move a heavy piece of furniture (350lbs+) within the home over multiple levels and could not be happier. They were punctual, cordial, careful, safe, and exhibited nothing but professionalism at a fraction of the cost others quoted me with far less upfront hassle of information requests past what they needed about the item, which I happily and quickly gave up front. I was particularly impressed with Mr. Lamont's managerial skills as he worked with, directed and provided specific and articulate guidance to workers to successfully, swiftly and safely move the heavy item err very impressive. I wish in the past I had bosses like that. I have a feeling this business will be expanding. Thank you again gentlemen. read more

We have used Lamont for two small furniture moves we've had as we live in a top level apartment, and he and his team are awesome! Quick, efficient and careful. We will definitely use them in the future and highly recommend them to anyone who needs labor for small moves. read more

Fast, reliable service! Great communication. The move was flawless. They ensured our questions were answered. Would hire again.

I used Lamont twice, to move furniture before and after floor refinishing. He and his crew are fantastic! They were patient with all my requests, worked diligently, and were affordable. They were also careful with all my belongings. I'd definitely use them again! read more

I used Lamont's Small Moves to move apartments within the same building and they were fantastic. I had to change the move date very last minute and they quickly accommodated me, which was a lifesaver. They were prompt, wore masks the whole time, pleasant, professional, and very efficient. They easily fit my couch in a small elevator - when I moved into this building, another reputable DC moving company couldn't fit it and charged me quite a bite extra to carry it up the stairs - wish I had used Lamont's then. Highly recommend! read more

I used Lamont's Small Moves twice in one week while I was moving out of our last home in Alexandria. We had settled for a day and time, but my wife was admitted to the hospital to have her gallbladder removed the night before. Lamont was incredibly responsive to my request to potentially reschedule and offered a number of last-minute suggestions that fit my schedule. Once my wife was released, I realized I needed help moving a few last-minute big items and Lamont was there within 36 hours to facilitate my move. I can't say enough things about Lamont and his team. They were incredibly professional, courteous, and communicated very thoroughly. read more

I found Lamont through Yelp because we needed help moving a sofa up one level and a loveseat down one level. Lamont responded very quickly to my inquiry and made himself available the next day! Since the service we needed wasn't a full move, he was able to squeeze us in between two jobs. Lamont and Brent were quick but very careful with our furniture. Lamont also did not up charge us like crazy, unlike the other moving companies that were quoting me outrageous prices. We will definitely be contacting Lamont Small Moves for our next move and I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for movers! read more

Does anyone actually like moving? No. Try moving 3 times in less than 4 months. I've done it. And I could not have done it without Lamont. I'm very indecisive, about everything, including moving services apparently. I had been getting quotes for weeks and found Lamont literally 4 days before I was set to move out of my apartment. The day of the move, I was running late and changed the time twice and arrived late (I know, I'm the worst), but he was ready to get going and super nice about my tardiness. They got to work quick and got my entire Uhaul unloaded under their quote time and I couldn't have been more grateful. They moved me into an apartment on the top floor, with no elevator, and 6 flights of stairs. Seriously, could not have been more thankful for Lamont's help in getting me into my new place! I'm actually hiring him again this weekend to move some more things!!! Hire Lamont - you won't regret it. read more

Would highly recommend this small business. I hired them to load up my one bedroom apartment for a move and they did an excellent job. Let me tell you I had a lot of stuff in that place for a one bedroom they were in and out in about two hours and even wrapped my furniture. Unloading was a breeze when I got to my destination thanks to their expert packing skills. Also very nice guys and handled my items with such care. Lamont and his partner Chris came by to help us swap two bedrooms. They arrived on time, and were very professional and nice.
