He really managed the crew and identified early that we needed additional help and another truck. He was able to get his brother to help and acquire another large truck so that we were able to stay on schedule. The entire move was incredible. The movers wrapped everything incredibly well including many large paintings etc. they didn't damage the house we left or the house we moved to or even 1 piece of our furniture! It was very hard to believe actually with the volume and size/weight of many of the items. They were prompt with both moves and showed up at 8am both mornings even after getting to sleep at 3am the night in between moves. Can't thank them enough! Extremely impressed and highly recommend!! So after receiving a few quotes from a handful of businesses, I went with Potomac Moving due to the speed of their response, clarity in communication, pricing and overall warmth and professionalism. In our first phone call to walk though my needs, they were very assuring and accommodating, which is a such a relief in the midst of stress and coordination that comes with planning for a move. They were also always very responsive in the few times that I reached out between the time I paid the deposit and the actual move. A night or two before, I sent at email regarding wardrobe boxes, since I was debating whether or not I should buy and have a few delivered to me. The owner responded quickly, assuring me that wardrobe boxes were tried, true and if I wanted to buy any directly from them that I could. That ended up being a great call, because they were able to properly enforce the boxes so that even the boxes filled with my heaviest coats remained in tact. On the day of the move, the movers were communicative regarding their arrival time. They were also very nice and hard working. I had a few large furniture items that needed to be disassembled and they ended up being quite beasts to tackle. But they worked diligently to break them down. Once it came time to move things to my new place, that was a breeze. One gesture that I thought was just so classy, was the owner called in the middle of the move to check-in on how things were going - I really appreciated that. They were kind and thoughtful, helping me make adjustments to the furniture layout once we got to the destination. I even had a last minute change to the destination (originally everything was going into storage but I ended up finding an apartment just in time), and the professionalism and patience from the entire Bookstore team through this change was excellent. I also saw team members on their phones or standing around in rooms and hallways instead of actively moving things. These delays added up quickly. The crew also misplaced parts of our bed frame, and the pieces had to be found before it could be reassembled. That alone added nearly an hour to the move. Because the move took much longer than expected, the final cost was significantly higher than the estimate we received. We were also charged based on an arrival time that was recorded as ten minutes earlier than when the crew actually arrived. The team was courteous, but given the inefficiency, added time, and higher final price, we would not use Bookstore Movers again. This is unfortunate, because we had been happy with them in previous moves.

They moved everything from my studio to my new place in under three hours. It was a local move with only about 10 to 15 minutes of driving, but they were still extremely fast and efficient. Nothing was broken, although I did transport the more fragile items myself to be extra careful. The only issue was that they left several long, noticeable scuff marks on the wall in my narrow hallway. That was unfortunate, but it felt fairly minor in the grand scheme of the move. Overall, the movers were professional, efficient, and easy to communicate with. I would still recommend them, but I would suggest keeping an eye on the walls in tighter spaces.

The elevator was out of service, and the storage unit was on the third floor. The gentleman could have requested a reschedule right then, but no. The BoxStar Super Stars jumped into action. They moved my daughters one-bedroom apartment out of the storage unit and into their truck in record time, including a very heavy sleeper sofa, down three flight of stairs in a narrow stairwell. They supply blankets, plenty of tape, and have all the tools necessary to make the move seem simple. They have plenty experience doing moves, and you could tell. If you pay with cash they give you a 5% discount. And if someone referred Nova Express Movers to you, they give you an additional 5%. During my move in December 2022 I was verbally harassed by an intoxicated mover,…read moreincurred over $5000 in damages to my personal goods (to include dropping an entertainment center down the stairs AND dropping a $2000 spin bike), and experienced negligence of personal belongings and a stolen bottle of alcohol. DOZENS of attempts to contact the company to collect on damages went unanswered. I even engaged with the BBB and Maryland Consumer Affairs who were also ignored. I also tried to reach out to NOVA to file a claim for the insurance coverage that comes with your moving expenses, and never received the information to place a claim. A company who doesn't take these situations seriously, is not a company you should trust. I am still waiting on a response, years later! This has not only been emotionally damaging, I have still not been able to replace/repair valuable furniture that was destroyed in this move. The owner was engaged on multiple occasions and chose to ignore the situation. The harassment I received during my move was Disgusting! I was whistled at, stared at, and called horrible names in Spanish during. No one should have to endure that! Not acceptable, ever!
