Here are the facts for our interstate move. I'll let you decide if you'd like to work with a company that treats it's customers in this manner. 1. We made our reservation for an interstate move months in advance specifically for 8am. 2. We called a week before to confirm our 8am arrival, were promised a 755am arrival time. 3. At 8am, we called Sloans who would said the truck had mechanical problems, was in the shop, and would arrive at 930. No proactive heads up on being late. 4. Sloans offered to find an additional employee to speed up the move, but never followed up with us on that option. 5. When the movers arrived, they apologized saying they were not aware of the 8am arrival time. They did not mention any mechanical problems. 7. I spoke with the general manager who promised to file a claim and said the claims department would contact me within 24 hours and hear everyone's side of the story. 8. After 24 hours, I called Sloans twice, leaving messages. 9. After 48 hours, I called Sloans twice, leaving messages. 10. Only after threatening to leave a negative review, I received a text message promising a check with a 5% reimbursement. Claims never called me. read more

Be careful. Looks like a bait and switch company. We obtained moving and storage quotes from three companies: Sloans, Able and Safe Ship. Able and Safe Ship visited in person and estimated 1,888 and 1,879 cubic feet. Sloans estimated over the phone at 1,950 cubic feet. I was about to sign with Able, when Sloans changed their bid to more than $1,000 less than Able. I signed with Sloans. They did the move, but suddenly the costs were based on pounds rather than cubic feet (we had a non bulky weight set) and the costs skyrocketed WAY past both Able's and Safe Ship's estimates. We had everything boxed up except furniture and Sloans suddenly claimed that we hadn't done enough prep though we had been given zero prep guidance. This really looks like a bait and switch company to me. Please be careful. Get your price fixed is my advice. If they won't do that, I recommend Able. Minor issues. They lost a key component to an exercise kit, meaning I'll have to pay $300 to get a new one, and they lost some of my wife's cooking equipment. read more

The 2 men (Roberto and Edwardo) packed up artwork and pictures at my home. Drove a long distance (a 2-day trip) and arrived ready to work. Yesterday I was in a panic because the moving company we booked canceled at the last second. When they didn't show, we called and they informed us that they weren't just late, but that they were not coming at all. Seriously. Who does that?! This is *after* I had already paid them. I immediately started calling around to see who could come move my belongings on such short notice. I realized it might be nearly impossible considering I was looking for someone same day (this was the last day of our lease, and given the fact that I had booked movers well in advance, I didn't see why this would be an issue. Now I know better). I called a company that was highly recommended on yelp and told them what I was dealing with. She said they were booked solid, but very quickly recommended that I call Danny Sloan. Who is Danny Sloan? Danny Sloan is the freaking man, that's who he is. I called him, explained my situation, and practically begged him to please find a way to help me out. The clock was ticking. Within ten minutes Danny had contacted his movers and within ONE HOUR they arrived at my house. Guys. He put a team together and had them at my house within an hour. Without any notice. Last second. WHAT! Not only did he have miraculously put a team together, he had them bring an extra truck, even though I already had one, to make sure that all of my things were out of the house in time by our deadline. I was seriously so blown away. That is the definition of going the extra mile for a customer! He even personally stopped by to make sure everything was going well! Felix and Andrew, our two movers, worked super fast despite the fact that it was close to 100 degrees outside, if not hotter at some points. They were insanely careful with all of my belongings and very courteous. I tried to offer them lunch, considering they had to come last second, but they politely declined and kept working. I was willing to pay for them to take a lunch break! Nonetheless, they worked right through. We realized we needed two extra boxes for random things that didn't make it in (cleaning supplies and a few bathroom items) - they had them ready to go with packaging tape! They had the entire place loaded onto two trucks within two hours. When they unloaded, they were polite in asking where I wanted certain pieces of furniture which was awesome because that meant I didn't have to struggle to move furniture after they left. They unloaded both trucks within two hours as well. I was happy with the price point - not the cheapest, not the most expensive, but still a great rate. However, I was even happier with the level of service I received from Danny, the owner, and how kind and efficient our two movers, Felix and Andrew were. These guys were all just plain awesome. I would 10000000000% recommend anyone call up Danny if you're in a pinch. If you're not in a pinch, call him anyway. These guys are worth it. After my experience with them, I wouldn't hesitate to call them first the next time I need to move. read more

I wish I could give 5 stars but there were a few things that went wrong so I can't. Only one or two of the team wore masks over the course of two days (moving out and moving in). They gauged my wall moving things upstairs. The repair one of the team came back to do will have to be redone by someone else. All my hanging clothes were wrinkled--must have fallen down in the wardrobes (packed by them). I had to stay in a rental an extra couple days because they were too busy to move me when I could get into my house. The good things are they moved me out efficiently and the team was by and large friendly and hardworking. I used them for packing too, and that was well done. They also took away some of the boxes and paper so I didn't have to recycle as much. The estimate was very close to the final price but I did not get multiple bids so I don't know how they compare to other movers. read more

They came in and talked us through all the aspects of moving and what they offer, and were able to customize a solution for our move that fit within our budget and met our needs. The day of move went just as planned with them showing up early and ready to go. We had some REALLY heavy furniture that were one-of-a-kind pieces, and they were extremely careful with moving them and packing them, and then unloading. We also had some strange stairways that required some precision with the larger pieces, and everything made it through with no wall or furniture dings. He was honestly interested in keeping my possessions safe and also wanted to provide as accurate of a quote as possible. Sloan's Moving really let me down. They came highly recommended, so I don't know what happened. My furniture wasn't wrapped going in to the truck and now has scratches on it, there are pieces missing to furniture so that they cannot be reassembled, they didn't use my moving boxes and packing materials so that they could triple-charge me to use their own, they removed wardrobe boxes that I owned and took them with them, and charge me a rental fee for using them on top of that. They sent more men to work on my move than agreed on, charging me more than double per hour for labor than initially estimated. Their estimate for how long everything would take was way off. After weeks of trying to get in touch with the owner, I finally went through each issue one by one but he just punted each one back in my face. The whole experience was regretful.
