We needed a movers for our new home half a mile away lol. We are a LARGE family moving out of a tiny house into a (thankfully) right-sized home. I usually do logistics but deferred to my husband with few instructions, so there wasn't a ton of space or time to pack everything and there was stuff EVERYWHERE. The good: They were on time ish and provide blankets dollies and tape. The bad: the crew only speaks Russian so without the owner, they're hard to communicate with. The result: they moved things out of order, doing the heaviest things last resulting in permanent damage to my thousands of dollar custom dresser that was less damaged moving cross country- I think they lied about wrapping it and my sons dresser because they were exhausted. It was a twelve hour move. They brought 3 guys when I suggested four and two of them were not ready. I had such anxiety when the owner said he had heartburn I thought he was doing to have a heart attack. It was a TERRIBLE move (that is ongoing) but the guys were nice and did their best. My biggest peeves are not wrapping my mattress, headboard and dresser- my headboard was dusty but now it's dusty and dirty smh. There was no way this was going to end perfectly though and my overall review is a B+. They did their job. read more

I explained what I needed and Artur was quite rude and condescending. I understand I had a unique ask but the manner in which he talked to me was unacceptable and not any way to communicate with a potential customer. I wasn't going to write this review and instead let my experience just be water under the bridge but it's taken a month and a half now to pay back the fee Arthur (the owner/ founder) and I agreed on due to improper handling of my move. I have not received the $200 back that Arthur promised to pay after many email reminders. I can't recommend this moving company. Two movers showed up to move a one bedroom apartment and I've never had a move take so long. In total, it took 9 hours to move just across town. One of the movers was an experienced, prepared, hard worker. The other, I learned after the move was practically complete, was a sub for someone who had a family emergency earlier in the day. Instead of asking me if I'd like to reschedule (which I could have done), someone was called who used to work for the company but didn't anymore. I wonder why. The person who was subbed in dropped my $1500 dresser resulting in significant damage to the corner as well as several other pieces of expensive furniture including my coffee table, bedside tables etc. I walked into my living room to find him on his phone sitting on my couch at one point, wasting time. This is just the tip of the iceberg but I'll leave it there. I genuinely do not want to drag someone trying to make their business work but I'm appalled at how all this has turned out and would have wanted to read a review like this before booking them. read more

Loved their service!! Reached out to Arko Moving, as well as several other moving companies, via yelp for renovating/rearranging of very large furniture and bed-set within my apartment. Arko Moving offered the best deal for the time frame needed, and they had the perfect availability. The other companies were charging almost $200+ more, which was ridiculous!! If Arthur's offer happened to be outrageous as well, I would've just called over some friends, bribed them with food and drinks, and hopefully this renovation would've taken one day plus some painkillers and ice packs afterwards. But I honestly just wanted a quick, seamless job and didn't mind paying professionals because my place is a two-level loft apartment that includes a half pace staircase....very tricky to navigate large furniture pieces. The 2 man team, who showed up on time..and called a few mins out as well as on arrival, were very professional and courteous. And they were fast!! done less than an hour. They also broke down huge cardboard boxes for recycling and carried them out. Arko Moving is the best...and I highly recommend these guys!!! read more

No complaints. I was very pleased with the service provided. Basically, I needed a POD unloaded in Manassas and delivered to my Pentagon City apartment on a relatively short notice. Also, it was a small move and I didn't want to pay a ton. Arko came thru for me! I booked via Yelp and was contacted and confirmed right away. On move day, the two gentlemen arrived and unloaded my POD in 30 mins flat. Most of my billed time was spent coming to Arlington from Manassas which I totally understand. However, price was still reasonable. Everything was professionally done and my items were handled with care. Bottom line: Honest, upfront pricing. Quick service. Arko handled my move from Alexandria, VA to the Philadelphia area. From the gate, Arthur was incredibly professional and proactive in both understanding my needs and explaining how those needs would be met. He and his assistant had to move me on Saturday, March 12, 2022 during a freak snowstorm. The weather was not cooperating, but they never batted an eye. They showed up on time, assessed my apartment and began loading up their truck. Arko made sure that all of my belongings were wrapped with care and loaded up accordingly. Once at my new apartment, Arthur and his assistant got to unload during a heavy snow squall. I did not envy their job, but they didn't complain once nor did they let the weather slow them down. All of my belongings were brought in, my bed reassembled, my piano placed where I wanted it. They even got to deal with my new crazy neighbor. Arthur was a consummate professional. Do not hire this moving company. They arrived 90 minutes late. They did not follow instructions to wrap items like the sofa or arrange dining room table chairs properly. (They were awkwardly stacked and wedged into a box containing a mirror.) They did not follow instructions to disassemble a gold desk which was damaged as a result. They inexplicably loaded a mirrored desk on its side with the heavy drawers on top, causing the whole item to buckle under the weight. A replacement was bought for $328. The dining room table's glass top was poorly wrapped in pads and just stacked on top of items with wall leaning mirrors, which resulted in a a damaged corner leaving it as a razor edge. A replacement was bought for $291. Boxes were loaded without any regard for what was in them or how they were labeled. Some boxes were just throw in upside-down. They loaded an ultrawide monitor in its box *on its side.* Do not hire these clowns. read more

I just used Arko Moving yesterday. The team did a phenomenal job!!! They are the best moving company I have used (and I have used many in the last 10 years). I highly recommend them! The following is a list of strengths that I think sets Arko Moving apart from other moving companies in the area: 1. Flat rate for 3-hour/3-man crew for $360, $120 an hour thereafter. 2. Wrapped every piece of furniture with padded wraps and cellophane and taped them so they are secure (I have had movers in the past just draped the padding over furniture in the truck-which resulted in damage to my furniture). 3. They did not charge me extra for having to carry my belongings down 3 flights of stairs. 4. Meticulously pack the truck so that all my belongings were safe and sound. The truck was large, too! 5. Arrived on time and in good spirits at the start of the job and were happy until the end. I did not see anyone not giving a 100%. They hustled the whole time. 6. Acknowledged to me that moving is stressful and did a great job in keeping my anxiety at bay. They told me to sit back and relax. 7. I used them to ship my stuff out of state, so they packed up my apartment and then packed the truck in Manassas. It was one of those brutally humid and hot July days and they worked to both protect my items and make sure they were properly packed on the truck. Arko movers helped me make a stressful move into an easy, every day event. I hate moving and they made it effortless. I moved on August 19th- one of the hottest day this summer. I used the Yelp deal and asked for 2 movers for 3 hours to move my 1 bdrm apartment. They were running late, however called me beforehand to warn me and explain the situation. When they arrived, they ended up having 3 guys, but did not charge me for the extra man since they were running late. Arthur, the main guy in charge (owner?) explained the documentation and cost upfront while the movers started so we didn't waste any time on the clock. They all were incredibly professional and efficient. They ended up finishing within the 3 hours because of how fast they moved furniture. They also helped make sure furniture got wrapped and fragile items were taken care of. On my next move I will without a doubt hire them again. Best decision was to use Arko Movers. I was hesitant to even hire a moving company after reading so many negative reviews and moving-day horror stories. Arko only had two Yelp reviews, but both were outstanding. I took a chance selecting them, but it all paid off. The team called the morning of moving day to say that they would be running 45 minutes late, but I would get an extra man and larger truck at no extra charge. Like clockwork, they showed up 45 minutes later, and clocked me as we began the quick paperwork. After moving everything from the three-story apartment to the truck, driving 40 minutes, and moving everything back up to our second story apartment, we clocked out just under three hours of work time; I was expecting 4 1/2 to 5 hours. Post-moving, my husband and I did not notice any broken or scratched items. We are so pleased with the movers and how they handled everything. Cost-wise, I feel like they were the best option as well. They charged $250 for three hours and six dollars for two rolls of tape for a grand total of $256. I couldn't have been more pleased. I highly recommend these guys. Advice to consumer: Provide packing tape and mark fragile items so that they know to put those boxes on top. read more

I'll keep it short: Arrived extremely late. We had a limited time window when our POD would be allowed in our loading dock and then had to be picked up and taken out. They knew that - very stressful. They really rushed. We just got our stuff unpacked and they damaged several items. The movers we hired to unpack were commenting on what a terrible job they did and how they caused damage on multiple pieces of furniture. They wrapped tape so tightly around an irreplaceable wood chair that the leg snapped. It was a cross country move, but this damage was obviously from them rushing and doing a poor job of packing items. We're going to look into filing a claim or something for damages. I will say that once they arrived, they worked very hard and got everything into the POD - they finished and were locking it up right as the pickup truck pulled up. With the damages, though, I just can't rate them any higher. read more

I hate to be their first 3 star review but our experience was vastly different from the 5 star reviews which is the reason I hired them in the first place. We moved a month and a half ago, the 3 man crew that showed up were very nice, had great attitudes and were polite but that's kind of where it stops. It took them from 11:20-8:30 at night to move our 3 bedroom condo. We didn't have a ton of furniture, enough to fill their truck. The issues began with them trying to get our couches down the stairwell, which is how they were delivered, up the stairwell but they couldn't seem to do it and in the process completely ruined 3-4 walls. Terrible gouges so it all had to be mudded and repainted. On top of that, they spent at least 1.5 hours trying to "figure out" how to get the couches out of the house, that cost me close to $200 just for that alone. At one point they were going to lower the couches over our 30-40 ft deck with our A/C units below... and not a very sturdy railing. Just before they were about to attempt, one of them asked me what I thought and I said it was a terrible idea and so thankfully they didn't go through with it. My husband took the feet off the couches and then they took them out down the stairwell. If that had been the only incident, I would have just let it go. Even though the walls were terrible. Once we got moved into our new home and things were being off loaded I noticed multiple items were ripped, scraped or broken. Our dining room table had several deep, unfixable scratched and gouges, our buffet table with rod iron legs and wheel attachment was bent so badly we had to saw it off and replace. Our daughters $300 12V Jeep had the axel broken off and rendered useless. Our couches were rubbed, ripped and strings pulled making the corners unsightly plus several other issues I've noticed throughout unpacking and moving of items. It's hard to write this review bc the guys were very nice. I called Arthur and he did give us a discount which was appreciated and the main reason it's 3 stars and not 1. They also charged more in the final bill than the time they were there. I verified the amount of levels in our townhouse and was told it was a $50 and they charged $100, they charged for lunch and the many many breaks they took. At one point one of the guys was in the home putting all the beds back together while the other two were hanging out in the truck just waiting around and this happened on many occasions. It was very frustrating as we are being charged per hour. All in all, I would not hire again. I hope they learned their lesson, that items can be damaged and take more care when loading and unloading. Arthur was very nice to work with when I discussed the issues and understood, so that was appreciated. I have a video of how messed up our stairwell was but it won't let me upload.
