The important stuff... Price was 85 per hour, three hour minimum. One hour for travel too. So 340 out the door. Manpower was two people working nonstop. We were lucky to get Pablo and "John". Not that it matters but they both spoke perfect English, Arabic, and Spanish. Pace was break neck. They didn't take a break and only stood around minimally after preparing a big item, waiting for their partner to help lift. Truck packing was super. We provided our own 16ft truck and the filled out safely to the roof, protecting the delicate things and maximizing space within. Above and beyond....They didn't start the clock until they looked at all the things they needed to pack. They even packed the truck with things that we were still putting into boxes as they worked. Pablo did the truck packing. John did a lot of the desk and furniture disassembly. Aside from showing up a little later than I anticipated, they are the hardest working fellas I've dealt with in all of Virginia. A+ read more

I was scheduled for a move on December 11th for 8:00 am, which had already been confirmed the day before.I called Charles because I could see they were late and he told me he did not have a driver and that he would try calling other people.........no answer. So he promised he could do the move the next day which would be a Sunday. Got up early the next morning no show, no call, or anything. I tried calling him several times throughout the morning and no answer. I was left hanging with no explanation or anything. Stay away from this company how could you just not show for a move? I used Magic Movers to pack/load a UPack trailer in Ashburn VA for a move to Kirkland WA. Let me start by saying that the two-man crew worked really hard and got the entire job done within the expected time frame. They were efficient, professional, and easy to deal with. But the real test for professional moving services isn't the day of the packing job, it's the condition of the items when they arrive. I'm sad to say that we had a lot of damage. An outdoor table had its leg snapped off, chair legs were broken, furniture pieces were extensively scratched/crushed. Boxes were ripped/shifted open and the contents broken or crushed. The pic shows the load after the bulkhead was taken down. The yellow strap at the bottom was added by the ABF/UPack driver. Basically some heavy boxes had been loaded at against the front wall of the trailer up high. They weren't strapped in, and at some point those heavy items fell backwards bending and crushing items behind. That probably created a domino effect, which crushed and bent everything that could be. The ABF/UPack driver said that straps should have been placed every few feet to hold each "layer" of the load in place, so it wouldn't move. When I originally called to get the crew, I requested a 3 man crew and packing supplies so there would be plenty of time and manpower to get everything done. A 2 man crew was sent instead. I believe we really needed that 3 man crew (and supplies and straps to secure the load). I feel like I did everything right -- I hired professional movers on both ends -- but I've ended up with a huge amount of damage. I'll point out that Magic Movers said that the ping pong table was going to be vulnerable, and indeed it arrived damaged (but most of that damage was due to the load shift). I think you can count on Magic Movers to be professional and work hard. But you *must* ensure that the load is properly strapped in for a long haul. read more

I moved on 5/7 from Centreville to South riding. I had 2 movers move a 1.5 bedroom apartment to a 3 story townhouse in 3.5 hours. I don't think any moving company could have done it faster. Also, they were friendly and enthusiastic about moving. None of our items were damaged, but if you are boxing your belongings your self make sure it is well packed to prevent items from damage. Also, please be aware that they don't put carpet or protective material down to protect your home to protect walls/floor from damage. If you have very expensive furniture, be sure to explain this to the movers. Definitely one of the fastest moving companies, but probably higher chance of damage when compared to others. read more

My experience with Magic Movers was fantastic. They were super courteous, helpful, and did a great job. They were able to get tough pieces of furniture out of our tight space and stayed to help put heavy items back together after the move-in. We had also rented a U-haul for some items and they helped us pack that up as well, even though that wasn't their truck. I think other companies would have said "no, sorry," but the Magic Movers were flexible and helpful. The pricing was extremely reasonable and well worth the good work they did. 5 stars all the way. These guys just moved my stuff from VA to MD. At first, we felt skeptical that all of our belongings would fit in a single 16 foot truck. We had A LOT of stuff. But Magic Movers worked some serious Tetris magic. They securely wrapped the fragile things in blankets, tape and shrink wrap and packed the truck so efficiently that everything fit! Not to mention that the entire VA/DC/MD area was under a major flash flood and tornado watch and these guys worked right through the rain and none of my stuff was wet when it arrived at my home in MD. We felt very bad about making them move our things in the rain, but they were insistent that they could get it done and they did. I couldn't say better things about them. I hired three guys from Majic Movers for five hours (I picked the duration) a couple of weekends ago to help me move from one unit to another in the same apartment complex. I chose them because of their responsiveness to my enquiry, reasonable price, and strong ratings here and elsewhere on the internet. I had about five rooms or 3000 lbs of stuff, so I didn't expect everything would be done after those five hours, but I thought much of it would be done and that I would have mainly odds and ends to move the next day. Things started out pretty good. The crew arrived right on time and were very friendly. I asked them to start with the heavy stuff like beds and dressers. They got a queen, a bunk, a dresser, large tv, media cabinet, and a good amount of other stuff loaded out and put in the other place (on the third floor, by the way) in a little over two hours. Pretty good. I'm liking it. Then the wheels came off. The crew leader was still rocking, but one of the other two stayed in the truck pretty much the whole time and the other slowed down progressively until he was barely doing anything at all. I complained to the crew leader at about the four hour mark, but the performance did not improve. Five hours and $845 later, they left. I was astonished when I went back into the apartment I was leaving to see how much was left. Again, I expected to have some significant work to do after they left, but there was far more left than I had expected. I've done some 15 moves over the last 20 years to and from many parts of the world and this was, by a long way, the slowest crew I have seen. I don't usually complain about bad service. I figure you pay your money and you take your chances, but this performance was so lacking, I felt I had to. So I did so early the following week (a week ago now) via the company's website. I got no response in the following days, so I emailed them yesterday to ask if they'd received it. I got a pretty quick response from Tom Sul asking for my phone number so he could call to discuss, which he did this morning. The discussion did not go well. Tom said the crew leader said he felt the crew had done an adequate job. He suggested, but then seemed to back away, from the assertion that I slowed the crew deciding which items would go into a storage unit about 100 yards from the apartment. Tom said Majic Movers was neither the fastest nor the slowest moving company in the area and that some of his crews were faster than others. We were getting nowhere. I cut to the chase and told Tom the only thing that would make it okay was a rebate of two hours of time. He countered with an offer that they would try to do better the next time I hired them. My advice: go elsewhere for your moving needs. read more

Not the best choice I made. One of the movers upstairs was video taping my furniture with his phone, i came in as he did this. Explained to them how some of the pieces should be handled, totally ignored and left stress mark on the furnitures. Only put down one cover for the stair rail on the bottom, no covering typ protect the stairs. The coverings on the foyer to protect the hardwood floor their path, did not put down properly, after walking about, the covering moved about, instead of straightening, they just kicked it out of the way. Same with going into the new home, and this was new construction built home, did not put any coverings on the stair rail, foyer area, made few dents from their dropping, scratches on the hard wood. Noticed the had cracked on one of the furniture piece during my cleaning, and they made no word of it as if I'm not going to find out. All and all, for the going rate I would not recommend this company for their sloppy work and their dishonesty. read more

WAY TO GO MAGIC MOVERS!!!!!!! This is the second time using this company.. First time was in 2013 moving out of my apartment and this time was moving into a new property! This 2 man crew really hustled today! The we're right on time and moved our things very efficiently! The entire move took about 3 hours... You can tell the owner of this company is really careful of who he hires!!! They are very careful and treated my house like it was theirs. My husband and I searched and compared 3-4 movers for the most reasonable offers. I like that Magic Movers comes to your home to assess what you have. I do not like moving day surprises. They came out and took a look at everything and gave us an estimate in writing. Once they left, we decided they were our best option and decided to go with them. We gave them a call and email to confirm and we were all set. Come moving day, I was a little anxious about them getting there on time. They arrived about 15 minutes early. There were 3 guys and they were ready to go! They managed to have our 3rd floor condo (no elevator) cleared within an hour and a half. I have no idea how they carry such loads, but they managed. All three guys went above and beyond to get the job done. They even took boxes and bags that weren't ready and made our jobs so much easier by assisting with taping, etc. The entire move was over in an hour less than estimated (which saved us money). There was a small spot on our wall that would need touching up and they compensated for that as well. I couldn't get too upset given the amount of stair and tight squeezes they had to work around. All and all I would recommend their services and use them again. Very polite, on time and well prepared. I used to think movers weren't necessary if you have a few good friends, but we all know how that goes! read more

I had a horrible experience. I had to move out of my apartment because of frozen pipes bursting. The first time they came out, they did a horrible job and didn't do anything the way I requested. I asked them to pack everything and to put the boxes in the Pod and my furniture in my garage space. They shoved as much as could in the garage and barely anything in the Pod. They charged me full price without any credit for the first horrible job . When I called to discuss it, I was hung up on. They damaged one of my TV's and lost the remote to my adjustable bed which I cannot find a replacement for. This was one of the best moves I have ever had. They bent over backwards to accommodate my scheduling issues. When the guys showed up they were very polite and hard working. I had Andres, Fahad, and Dre. They all worked extremely hard and none of my stuff was damaged. They also did not complain when I packed my boxes too heavy and they split open. Moving can be very stressful and they sincerely helped to make the move as stress free as possible. I also appreciate that they did not try to up-charge me for every item.
