I called 40-something other companies before choosing A&A Moving, and was floored by Alonzo's honesty and respectfulness. No hidden fees, no bait-and-switch pricing, just real talk about his costs, how much he needs to pay his guys, and what I could afford. He even told me he'd be coming on this move personally, which made me feel better about the whole thing. My experiences with other movers have made me kind of neurotic; Alonzo handled this with poise and understanding. He sent me multiple confirmations before our scheduled packing day, and sent plenty of updates that day, so I always knew where they were at. I returned from work to find everything neatly packed, with the exception of my bed and a few items that Alonzo and crew thought I might need - soap, toilet paper, towels, deodorant, tampons, my travel neck pillow... Those items were handled the next day, when the guys loaded my boxes into the truck. The actual move went off without a hitch. Alonzo kept me updated about his location and ETA during the cross-country drive, and he and his colleague Bryan (or is it Brian? Either way, you rock, dude) arrived at my California apartment within 15 minutes of their promised delivery time. Not a single item was broken, my furniture was in exactly the same condition I left it in DC, and they managed to get everything into the apartment without a single scratch or scuff mark on my walls. Seriously, I cannot speak highly enough about A&A Moving. If this is how they handled a cross-country job, I can only imagine their precision and attention to detail during shorter / easier moves.

Everyone I talked to at A&A, including the owner Alonso, were friendly, clear, and accommodating. They asked great questions ahead of time to get a clear idea of how much stuff I had and it's a good thing they know their stuff! They brought a full-size truck and a smaller van... and I filled both. When it was readily clear I had a lot of stuff, they called in an additional mover-- asking, of course, for my permission, but ultimately sharing that it would save me money. Each of the movers that showed up had an incredible positive attitude and they had great communication between them. They were efficient and fast. All my furniture was in the same shape after the move, and they even made sure I didn't lose any bookshelves or those little things that hold the shelves up. Nothing broke, either. They even paid attention to my labels and tried to match the box with the correct room. While I want A&A to be available for every move I do, I also want others to know what an affordable and pleasant experience this was. (They even do moves out of state-- one guy was telling me about a move to Florida they did!) Great communication with me before and during the move, reasonable pricing, excellent experience overall.

Clearly they have been in the business for a while, because the truck was loaded so intricately and with a lot of care. I had some large items (television, mattress, coffee table, piano, etc.) that were all handled with care and there was no damage. I was moving in Arlington from one apartment building to another, and the move was completed in 3 hours. They supply blankets, plenty of tape, and have all the tools necessary to make the move seem simple. They have plenty experience doing moves, and you could tell. If you pay with cash they give you a 5% discount. And if someone referred Nova Express Movers to you, they give you an additional 5%. During my move in December 2022 I was verbally harassed by an intoxicated mover,…read moreincurred over $5000 in damages to my personal goods (to include dropping an entertainment center down the stairs AND dropping a $2000 spin bike), and experienced negligence of personal belongings and a stolen bottle of alcohol. DOZENS of attempts to contact the company to collect on damages went unanswered. I even engaged with the BBB and Maryland Consumer Affairs who were also ignored. I also tried to reach out to NOVA to file a claim for the insurance coverage that comes with your moving expenses, and never received the information to place a claim. A company who doesn't take these situations seriously, is not a company you should trust. I am still waiting on a response, years later! This has not only been emotionally damaging, I have still not been able to replace/repair valuable furniture that was destroyed in this move. The owner was engaged on multiple occasions and chose to ignore the situation. The harassment I received during my move was Disgusting! I was whistled at, stared at, and called horrible names in Spanish during. No one should have to endure that! Not acceptable, ever!

I spent the day worrying (needlessly) that the storage unit I had rented was too small. The crew fit all of the items neatly and safely into a 5x10' unit with room to spare.
