Brown's Moving Service moved me from a fifth floor condominium in Arlington, Virginia to a single family house in Wake Forest, North Carolina. In the past, I have done a few corporate (business) moves and have a high level of expectation from professional movers. Joe Brown exceeded every expectation I had. Moving is usually very stressful for me as I am a perfectionist, but Joe and his men made the entire process incredibly smooth and worry-free. They were extremely professional, and worked quickly without cutting corners. Joe (the owner) was on the property the entire time (as he promised) and he worked alongside his men. What impressed me most was how carefully they handled everything, especially my numerous, VERY heavy and ornate pieces of Victorian furniture. Every piece of furniture and every box was treated like it was their own. They wrapped and protected items properly, loaded everything securely, and they did not damage a single thing during the move. Additionally, the entire team was friendly, extremely respectful, and clearly very experienced. They communicated well with me and with each other as a team, stayed organized, and kept everything moving efficiently from start to finish. They truly care about doing the job correctly and making their customers happy. They moved me into my elderly mother's occupied house (not an easy task) and were also very respectful of her furnishings and her wishes. Joe has a very pleasant and calming demeanor and is very responsive to email and texts during the process. He provided me with a written estimate and a written "will not exceed amount" well ahead of the move and stuck to his estimate. His business style is rather informal compared to the big, interstate van lines, which frankly worried me a little, but there was nothing to be concerned about at all. We've used these guys a few times already and they are hands down, a great company. The guys are polite, move quickly and they've never broken a single thing on us. Our last move was down a long hallway and there was another person in our same hall moving at the same time. They managed to get things done within the three hour window that we had for the freight elevator and never made a big deal about any of it. This move was during the middle of this whole Covid nightmare as well. They were good about wearing masks and communicated with my husband from a safe distance. Mr. Brown and his team showed up precisely at the time we spoke about and began working once I showed the team the space. I would give Browns Moving 10 stars if I could. My husband and I were being relocated due to work and arrived at our sight unseen rental that was clearly and wildly misrepresented. We did not feel comfortable leaving our belongings in this residence for even 24 hours. Joe was so helpful in directing us to the most affordable/cost effective way to solve this problem. Every other company that I called in the area (and trust me I went down the Yelp list) was not willing to do same day service or offer solutions to help us.
