I raised the issue with the facility manager. During our conversation, the manager acknowledged that the facility had a rat infestation. I had not been informed of any rat or rodent infestation when I rented the unit. I am particularly concerned because customers store household goods here and may unknowingly move affected boxes and belongings into their homes or other facilities. I have photographs documenting what I observed. I have reported the matter to the appropriate Fairfax County authorities so they can determine whether an inspection or other action is warranted. Prospective renters may want to ask management specifically about any current or recent rodent problems before placing their belongings in storage.

Before you rent here you should realize several things 1: your rent will go up significantly each year. Unfortunately even if it would be cheaper to go somewhere else for storage you stay because you figure that's easier than moving all of your stuff. I probably could have just added a room onto my house for the price i paid for storage here. 2: There are never enough carts and the ones they do have are broken and crappy. AND the worst thing is, we moved all of our stuff out this weekend since it was the end of the month. The unit was completely emptied out over the weekend. I called on Monday the 31st and asked how to cancel. I was asked if it was emptied and unlocked. I said it was emptied but my husband did not know he needed to take the lock off and I would do it. I was not told it had to be done before closing that day. I worked until 9pm and was not able to come and unlock it and leave the lock and keys until this morning at approximately 6:30 am. I received a call from Public Storage this morning saying since it is the 1st of the month I will have to pay an entire months worth of rent since I had not taken the lock off and returned the keys yesterday AND had I given them a heads up this would not have happened! I did call yesterday!! Charging people a whole months worth of rent for bringing the keys back on the 1st is ridiculous and very poor business practice! What ever happened to pro rating, you don't charge people a full months rent when they move in on the 10th or 15th, you pro rate it. I would be happy to pay for 1 days rent on the unit but asking me to pay an entire months rent on an empty unit when the keys were returned on the 1st is RIDICULOUS!!!! Do yourself a favor and DONT rent here!!!!!!!

5 stars for Brenese, 1 star (less if possible ) for Scarlett:…read moreI recently returned a U-Haul truck to this location and had one of the most polarizing customer service experiences I've ever encountered--all in the span of a few minutes. When I arrived, the system was down, making it impossible to log our return via the usual method. I noticed the store door was open, so I walked in to ask for help after hearing the phone line had a 45-minute wait. That's when Scarlett shouted at me--yes, shouted--"We're closed!" There was no greeting, no explanation, just immediate hostility. I calmly explained the situation and was relieved when another employee, Brenese, stepped in. She kindly explained that the system was down and gave clear, helpful instructions on how to proceed with our drop-off. Her tone was professional, calm, and understanding--exactly what you hope for when something isn't working and you need guidance. Meanwhile, Scarlett continued to simmer in the background, muttering a passive-aggressive "AND because we're closed" under her breath--just loud enough to hear. When I asked her to repeat herself, she doubled down with the same tone. I told her directly, "You don't need to be so rude," because the truth is, she was extremely rude, unnecessarily aggressive, and completely unprofessional. Frankly, she has no business working in a customer-facing role. Scarlett's behavior was not just bad--it was unacceptable. If I were a manager, I'd consider retraining or reevaluating whether she belongs in this position at all. Her attitude is damaging to your brand. Now, on the complete opposite end of the spectrum: Brenese is a gem. After helping me inside, she even walked out to check in the truck in front of me to offer peace of mind. She went above and beyond--without being asked. Her customer service was exceptional, and her professionalism saved the experience. Give Brenese a raise, a promotion--something. She's the reason this review isn't one star. To management: If you're reading this, Scarlett could learn a lot from watching how Brenese treats people. Frankly, so could a lot of people. Scarlett's presence is a liability. Brenese is an asset.

When we toured the facility and locked in a space turns out the office manager told us that's only the online pricing that's not what they actually offer. Then we agreed to a new price and continue to move forward. Then the next month after we had declined the insurance they charged the additional $40 for the insurance. After we went into the office to discuss the additional unauthorized charges, they only removed one months worth of the charge. Now it is July, and we received a notice in the mail stating that our storage unit was now $242 a month when we had originally agreed on a price of $120. The hundred dollar increase is absolutely outrageous. I don't think this manager or company understands at all what customer service means. When we try to ask about the pricing increase the gentleman behind the desk told us he could bring it down to $205. Why the price increase if they're able to change the price on site? Whatever standards or benchmarks that they're using to justify this pricing increase seems fabricated. When we told them we wanted to end our services with them, the gentleman behind the desk, said that we needed to be out that same day. After paying for an entire billing cycle and our billing was not to renew until August 9. It seems as though this company is committing theft because we've paid for the entire billing cycle. They poorly packed my stuff into my two storage units. Some things broke or were smooshed. They stole extra $40 from me and gave me a poor lie for why they did it. They had to send me a $40 check after I called them out on it. Their boss wouldn't believe me and defended them, almost to the point of scolding me for accusing them of stealing... only for their lead mover to apologize to me with a weak ass lie. Edited to elaborate, since Susan continues to be in disbelief and refuses to think it's possible her employees would do such a thing and to make all of you potential customers aware of my experience: I counted out my cash out loud maybe 3x. The lead mover saw that I had multiple $20 bills amounting to hundreds of dollars. I laid some of the $20s in piles on my vehicle dashboard and counted out the cash to the amount that I owed, rounded to the nearest $20. When I gave him the money to count, he gave a fake sigh and shook his head and said I was $40 short. I didn't believe him and asked him to count again. He said I owed $40 more. So, I gave it, but I felt lied to. After that, I still tipped them smh. I shouldn't have. He left and I recounted all my money. Now I was short $40, meaning if we subtracted what I owed to them from what I withdrew from the ATM and also subtracted the tip, I should not be missing extra $40. I did the math multiple times and brought it up to Susan and the company. They accused me of lying and trying to steal from THEM. Susan said "it's only $40! I'll just send you a check. It's only $40." (Mover's name here) later texted me and apologized and said he got confused. He said when he counted the money, he set the $40 aside in his sock because it was tip. That's why he asked for $40 more. That doesn't make sense? When he counted the money in front of me, he never put any money in his sock. He just counted the money and looked me dead in the eyes and said I owed $40 more. I also didn't include tip until AFTER he said I owed $40 more and we settled what I owed first. Susan, the reason why I didn't pick up when you called today (8/10/26) is because you showed me months ago that you are argumentative and not interested in listening to me or believing me. I already know you're gonna argue like before and probably pressure me to take my review down. I took months to post this review because I knew you'd do this, call me and claim I'm lying or have your business confused with another. But if you thought that, if you truly couldn't find me in your data base, then why did you call me just now? Looks like I was in your data base after all.
