Before you rent here you should realize several things 1: your rent will go up significantly each year. Unfortunately even if it would be cheaper to go somewhere else for storage you stay because you figure that's easier than moving all of your stuff. AND the worst thing is, we moved all of our stuff out this weekend since it was the end of the month. The unit was completely emptied out over the weekend. I called on Monday the 31st and asked how to cancel. I was asked if it was emptied and unlocked. I said it was emptied but my husband did not know he needed to take the lock off and I would do it. I was not told it had to be done before closing that day. I worked until 9pm and was not able to come and unlock it and leave the lock and keys until this morning at approximately 6:30 am. I received a call from Public Storage this morning saying since it is the 1st of the month I will have to pay an entire months worth of rent since I had not taken the lock off and returned the keys yesterday AND had I given them a heads up this would not have happened! I did call yesterday!! Charging people a whole months worth of rent for bringing the keys back on the 1st is ridiculous and very poor business practice! What ever happened to pro rating, you don't charge people a full months rent when they move in on the 10th or 15th, you pro rate it. I would be happy to pay for 1 days rent on the unit but asking me to pay an entire months rent on an empty unit when the keys were returned on the 1st is RIDICULOUS!!!! Do yourself a favor and DONT rent here!!!!!!!

When I called them yesterday to make the next three months' worth of payment, the manager, in the most ambiguous way possible, indicated they will refund the $18 if I send them another copy of my renters insurance. Furthermore, they never provided me with a copy of the rental agreement or any kind of similar documentation that shows the agreed-upon rental rate, or proof of payments that insures they won't re-neg on the agreed-upon rate, which is now very worrying given the number of comments on this Yelp page touching on the exact same issue. I don't understand why self storage facilities such as this one have to be so shiesty.
