Diane at SPS Herndon makes doing business here extremely easy and painless. This husband and wife team run a tight ship and have a remarkably friendly and welcoming style of customer service. I really can't commend Diane enough for how clear and thorough she was throughout the entire process for selecting and renting a storage unit with SPS. I got to personally see a few different size units before deciding on one (a smaller, less expensive unit) in good condition that would be sufficient for my needs. Then, I got talked through some pretty elaborate paperwork to lease the unit. But once the initial round of forms were done with, it was absolutely smooth sailing and entirely self-service from that point on! I appreciate the freedom to access my things whenever I need them, with the exception of between the hours of 2200 and 0600. Each customer is furnished with a unique passcode that permits entrance into the gated storage facilities just down the road in the industrial park where the office is located. And I'm a fan of having an indoor unit. Plus, SPS Herndon offers a wide array of packing supplies, including protective foam inserts for plates/glasses, cardboard boxes, and bubble wrap. It's easily a one-stop shop for moving necessities, and they'll help you out with figuring out what you'll need, to boot. As far as I'm concerned, this is a class act. NB: Check to see what specials they have running at any given point in time. Security Public Storage offered us a convenient and safe space to store our belongings when we needed it most. After experiencing a terrible water leak in our new condo, we were forced to live in a hotel for several months while our home was restored. Security Public Storage provided us with a sizable 10x15 unit that was affordable and easy to access as we moved multiple times to our extended stay hotel and eventually into our remodeled condo. On our first move day to the hotel, we decided to rent Security's moving truck, as it was available for a lesser fee than an equal sized truck from U-haul. Unfortunately, we arrived to discover that this truck would not start. As solution to this problem management at the Herndon location organized for us to rent a larger truck at the originally quoted rate from the Ashburn location. While it was certainly an inconvenience to discover the issues with their truck, it was a relief to know that they cared enough to ensure we could continue to move as planned despite the set back. read more

Dealing with them is entirely no-pressure, no-hidden-fees, and very generous on the cancellation notification. No contracts required, and they are quick and eager to spell out every detail of their offering. To top it off, they both seem to really enjoy their job and to take pride in running an honest, clean, and secure facility. Their lot seems very well maintained (perfectly clean - Diane even stopped and picked up some trash while showing us the facility) and secure. Each unit is alarmed and tied to your own individual access code, so that the computer tracks to see if the person who should be opening a storage unit actually is. She has explained their policies and prices on their units, when we made an appointment to view the facilities, she gave as a tour and her advice on which unit we should go with? She also offers deals for new sign ups, depending on the season and availability. The doors to the building are padlocked, and you get your own code once you sign up. Have security cameras in hallways, units are clean and well maintained. Renters can choose between climate control and non-climate control units, and several sizes for each unit. I have had a unit here for about a year. I have never had any issues, from the initial choice of units to the closing everything and everyone has been professional and pleasant. Even my moving company commented on how nice and clean this facility is. I had not been in my unit in about 8 months and there was no dust! I had called the week before to let them know ow I was closing the unit. The day of, my movers got everything out and then I completed the sign out paperwork.
