It's not this company's fault and really Yelp should remove those reviews. I use these guys three times in a week. I had my Beamer breakdown and the sheriff called them to come give me a tow and it was great. So I needed roadside assistance for a disabled vehicle and through Geico I was given Battlefield Towing & Storage. Initially I was given a timeframe of 60 minutes but it quickly updated to a 20 minute wait time. I hope this reaches the gentleman that came to help me out, Gary, because he was so awesome and extremely helpful. I'd never needed a tow before and he walked me through the process & made me feel so comfortable and at ease. I tried offering him food cause I didn't know how else to show my appreciation. When he dropped my car off he called me to let me know. I can't say enough good things about Gary. Predatory towing company - bewareI I parked my car on a Saturday evening at Kendrick Court apartments. Parked right in front with the other visitors. I parked at 645pm and was towed at 730pm. Police told me my car was towed by "Battlefield Towing-Storage". Had to Uber to their location at 13925 Willard Road in Chantilly. It was dark and late when I got there and the desk clerk had a nasty attitude. I told her I was recording the entire transaction for legal and safety purposes and she refused to let me pay for my car. I ended up calling Fairfax County Police and she even argued with the Officer. He had to tell her he would be getting a warrant to have her release my vehicle before she complied and let me pay. I paid and got my vehicle. As I left their driver was pulling in with another victim's vehicle. I will update this Post as I pursue legal recourse over the next few weeks. Worst tow company ever. All the employees are disrespectful. They damage your vehicle and then claim that they didn't do it. They also go into neighborhoods and tow people's vehicles in the day time. This company is absolutely trash. They are contracted to monitor our neighborhood and tow those parked in the wrong spots. They hardly ever come and the one time they did come, I parked in a visitor's spot. I'm a resident. However, my husband gets home from work at 2 am. So, I normally park in a spot out front. I don't want to wake people up by pulling my car out and then opening the garage to let him in etc. But people in this neighborhood have 2-3 cars and take up all of the spots including the visitor's spots. Last night, I was towed. The toothless woman working at the towing office said they have to monitior thousands of properties, so they don't come here often. My gripe is that my neighbors are constantly parking in the street, blocking traffic and my driveway for hours. I called it in, and the tow company never came. Yet, they towed my friend's car because their visitor's place had fallen down and a neighbor called it in to be towed in the middle of a hurricane. And the tow company charged extra for that. When in reality, they shouldn't have come out if it were so dangerous. I called the HOA and they informed me that the tow company is supposed to patrol throughout the day every day to ensure that the things my illegal parking neighbors do don't happen. Each time I was towed was due to me not having my parking pass displayed. My HOA that operates in my community is my primary cause for this company able to operate in my neighborhood. Damnit to hell. Leaves have shed from trees. Snow has covered the pavement. Tulips have bloomed in the garden. All these wonders of nature have occurred while I continued to park in the exact same spot. And I'm not talking about parking here once or twice. I've parked here dozens and dozens of times and have never had a problem. So you can imagine the shock when I walked outside today to find...that there was nothing to find. My car was gone. I wish I could have walked out and questioned where I parked my car, but in a private, gated community I knew there was only one answer; I had been towed. Other than the initial shock, awe, horror and frustration it was a pretty anti-climatic process to get the car. My friend drove me from Herndon to Chantilly, we pulled into the storage area, I walk up to a window and give my license and license plate number, paid and am directed to a garage directly next door. There was my car, sitting alone in the dark -helpless, frightened and scared. (Ok, that was dramatic, but whatevs.) Basically, I just rolled up in there, started her up and drove off. The whole process took less than 5 minutes and the woman working there was extremely chipper considering the fact that every customer she faces is probably having a pretty bad day. Saturday, my kids noticed my car wasn't in the spot where we parked it. I called the police to report my car was missing. They said my car was towed, supposedly because my registration was not up to date. They confirmed the registration is current and advised I contact the towing company. I called BT where a dispatcher confirmed my car was towed last Thursday at 3 AM. He gave me the address where I could find my car at, said I would have to bring my license + a form of payment. I said I should no have to pay, It wouldn't be fair as my registration is valid until 12/2024. I could not afford to pay. He said I was wrong and I signed a contract with my HOA. He started yelling at me, said "you can either pay $280 tonight or wait until tomorrow and pay $300 and some ... I hope you get run over by a car and die", then hung up on me. was still trying to process what was happening, I was shocked and angry because my kids as well as my neighbor were there and witnessed the whole thing. I was in tears, shaken up and felt humiliated and disrespected. I called back the sheriff office and told them what happened and I did not feel safe to go to the address provided by myself. Honestly, I thought he said "I hope you get ran over by a camel dick", which I never heard of. The officers I spoke to stated they do not know what that means but I could file a report and reach out to my HOA office because there is nothing they could do for me. After talking to the police and while I was waiting for a ride, I called BT back and asked the person who picked up if he was the same person who I spoke to before; he first said no and later admitted it. asked for the name of the company, which he gave, but refused to give me his name. I told him that I would find out his name on Monday anyway and he said: "no, you will not" and hung up on me for the second time. I called back 3 times and got hung up on again and again. I tried asking if the calls are being recorded and why he insulted me. He said I insulted him first, which is a lie. " I will insult you again by hanging up on me now. The sheriff office had an officer meet me at the address given and we waited for over half an hour in the cold before the driver showed up. I paid and got my vehicle back. Later my daughter confirmed what the dispatcher said was "I hope you get hit by a car and die". Which is even worse. hope the calls were recorded and I would like them to listen to the recordings. I thought for him to speak to a customer in such way and think it is okay, he must be BT's manager or owner. I found out later he is just a dispatcher. The officer gave me the corporate address and number and the office clerk gave me the manager"s number. I was told I would have to wait until Monday morning to talk to someone in charge. This morning, I called the manager of the towing company and was put on hold three times, then Starkey got back on the line and said if I am calling about what happened over the weekend, he has been informed and the situation would be addressed later, and dismissed me. He must be too busy to hear my version of thé incident. I decided to call the number the police officer gavé me, find out it is the same number as the manager"s, so gave up and called the HOA. I reported the incident and told them if they care about their reputation at all, they should not do business with BT. It is the worst experience I have had in my life so far. They don't even deserve a 0 star rating, because no company should treat their customers as such. My children and I are very traumatized. That guy might know my address, so I now fear he might come to my neighborhood and run me over when he sees me outside. He definitely knows my license plate and phone number. I am waiting to hear back from the HOA and get reimbursed. I am also waiting for a formal apology from Battlefield Towing. read more
