Darryl at the front desk is very rude & unprofessional. I was interested in getting a unit from this facility so I decided to stop by to checkout the size samples they have inside the office. It was a few minutes after 9 so i figured it was open & the online Website said it was open so i go , pull on the door & it's locked , I look inside & see a black male sitting in an office & I figured he would come & open shortly , another customer shows up right after me , I tell him that someone will come open soon , so Darryl comes to the door & says to me " WHAT" you "ain't " coming in , it's not 9:30 yet , so I told him he did not have to speak to me in that tone of voice so he proceeded to tell me that he was not on the clock yet so pretty much telling me that he could speak to me however he wanted as long as he was not on the clock. After that I decided to get online to let others know about " Darryl " & what do I see , others also complaining about his nasty personality & attitude... In the less than one year that we have had our storage unit there for my husband's motorcycle, they have raised the rate over $100. When we went in today to tell them that the Public Storage right around the corner was offering almost $100 less they basically said "go there then." So we closed our storage unit here, went around the corner and saved $96 per month! Great way to do business guys! read more

I would warn future customers from renting a unit at the Centreville location. Several patrons are leaving this facility for other storage facilities that do not play games on their patrons. It has been less than a year and there have been two outrageous upcharges of $100 each. The monthly cost has nearly DOUBLED from the price 11 months ago. I am paying nearly twice as much but have not been awarded twice the space in compensation. This is not the way to do business nor build a positive relationship with the community. I'm very pleased with this public storage. Stacy was very helpful answering my questions, adjusting my move in date, and allowing me access to view my unit before the truck arrived. On moving day, Darrel assisted by giving the driver the information he needed to navigate into the facility and to strategically position the truck for the shortest carry. Well I wasn't too annoyed until I left. Stuff is same as I left it.... BUT, entry gate is now broken. So much for it being a secure place to store your items. Make sure you start doing business at the beginning of the month because the "1st month" only applies until the end of the month you sign in. No discounts if you join mid month/ you start to pay on the 1st of the following month (vs a month after signing). Also, make sure you leave before month end (before the office closes) or they charge you. They should either stay open until the gate closes on the last day or provide service to ensure their customers want to come back. Vacating was not a good experience for me, as the exit policy wasn't explained properly, so I think I'll take my business elsewhere. Other than the customer service I received, the unit I had was nice - minus the gate being broken. They need to fix the gate, otherwise why was I paying what I paid? read more

Over the phone, they quoted me one price for the first month and then the additional months. When I arrived, I was told a completely different price. They had added a bunch of "mandatory" insurance and other fees that were never mentioned to me when I reserved my space. I was told it is not mandatory to tell me all of that over the phone and they are only allowed to tell me that it is $1 for first month and that's all. PRICE BAITING IS ILLEGAL! read more

Management at this location is shady at best. The individual employees were very professional and tried to be helpful, but our issue required management. The manager himself dodged our calls and never called us back. They quoted us for a unit, we received confirmation email of the particular unit, but when we went to check out the unit, it was no longer available. They (the manager) had somehow changed our original unit size to something that wouldn't work and refused to discuss it with us. Tried taking this issue all the way up to corporate who told me to pound dirt. Like I said, shady. Wish I could give zero stars. read more

If I could give this entire company negative stars I would. Shady business practices all around. Free month is awesome until you are required to pay $40 for the following month but if you decide to leave as you no longer need the space you will be charged for the entire month. Even after the employees the you that you have a week to remove your items with no charges. This is not on the contract you sign not is it spoken too unless you decide to leave. The district manager will not call you and his assistant will not transfer you to Devin. Go to uhaul. You won't regret it. read more

This facility is older, but is clean and well managed. Beigie is very professional and took the time to find us the best options for our storage needs. My only complaint is the access hours. Do not use any Public Storage for your storage needs. They do not pro-rate your monthly payments so you need to schedule your moving dates on their timeline. Moving is already so stressful. It's unbelievable that a nation wide company does not refund you the 26 days of the month you were not using their storage space. I have rented a storage unit at this site for over 2 years. The staff has always gone above and beyond in assisting me in anyway they could. When I first had to rent a storage unit, I honestly was afraid that mice and/or bugs would get into my belongings. Friends of mine had told me about stories of this sort at other area storage facilities. After my 2 years here, absolutely no mice or bugs! Yay! I would definitely rent a storage unit here again without hesitation. This site is beyond professional and clean. I can not say enough about employee Beigie. He always was professional and went out of his way to assist where he could. He is an asset to any business that he works for.
