Able, represented by Jill, was a super company to do business with. My wife and I moved to senior living facility in another state, interstate move. The facility had some strange requirements were met by Able with no interaction by me. Because of a snow storm the original schedule was disrupted, Jill jumped in and provide a different schedule that actually was better than the original one. Packing professional and careful. The destination delivery was supervised by my daughter and she was impressed and echoed my remarks. When I arrived all was in as much order that any move would allow. I fully recommend Able Moving. We have move 23 times and this was by the best. I would recommend any older movers use them because they also take our special needs in consideration. Having said that, my moving experience was completely turned around by the great crew that came out to move me. Wilmer and his team of three other men did a good job getting some very heavy furniture up three flights of stairs in my new home. After requesting additional protection for new construction walls and stairwell banisters, he accommodated me and had his crew better protect the walls and stairwells. Overall I had only a few minor damages that would've happened with normal wear and tear anyway. Had management been a lot better with communication and with really taking the time to hear the customer and address concerns a bit more professionally, then this would be five stars. read more

Everything was going well with Able Movers until after they finished unloading, when several issues arose, not all at once but over a period of several days. The first shock was when the driver announced he was leaving. I thought I had arranged for unpacking, but he assured me that service had been omitted from the contract. Big shock, because the number of boxes I confronted at that moment was overwhelming. After I signed the destination papers, over a period of several hours I discovered numerous items I'd specifically told them not to pack that they'd packed anyway. So I paid to ship a large quantity of old wire coat hangers, old winter accessories I'd totally forgotten, various kitchen items I'll never use etc, etc. I've filled several large boxes to donate to charity. I also found a couple of items shipped to me that should have been delivered to my son's house. They were clearly marked with that destination. Then I set out to find the dinnerware and the drawer dividers. Turns out they were at the bottom of a pile of boxes of old, expired spices, rolls of Saran wrap, Al foil etc., each of which had to be opened to see what lay under many layers of paper cushioning, kitchen gadgets etc. Finally the tableware emerged, but not the drawer dividers. Further excavations lasting past lunch time went by before they emerged at the bottom of the pile. After lunch, I began to look for the computer items. I found them (once again at the bottom of their boxes), but no power strips, necessary because of the many items, each requiring it's own unique power adapter. Unpacking began before noon. By 9:45 pm I'd only found one power strip. I also couldn't find the PC power cord, wastebaskets, and garbage pail liners. By the end of the next day, I had found the power strips, but not the PC power cord, the type with a trapezoidal connector at the PC end. This evening, a day and a half after Able unloaded my goods, I gave up looking and ordered a new power cord, trash baskets, and garbage pail liners. In one of the last boxes I belatedly found the liners. The following week I finally found my dishes and drinking glasses. 3/4 of my dinner dishes were broken, the result of being packed improperly. Some of the glasses were tightly wedged so together they couldn't be separated. I strongly recommend having at least two sets of eyes watch the packing and to go over your house to look for items that should/ should not be packed, or that go to a different destination. read more
