The four workers that arrived with the truck on time were absolutely first class. No fuss just moved quickly in a well-coordinated fashion. Like a team working in unison. The lead Kevlin was a very seasoned supervisor as well as a worker. They had tools for taking the legs off large items...Wrapped all of the pieces extremely well. I found them on Angi and Peter gave me a call to ask for the move information/inventory so he can provide a quote. He was very professional and gave a reasonable quote. We decided to go with Express because of the other positive reviews and getting our first choice time slot. We had a stress-free move today!! The 2 person team led by Gabriel arrived on-time and was super professional - they brought supplies and worked very efficiently. It was local move with back to back move-out and move-in, all done in 6.5 hours. Our furniture was carefully wrapped and nothing was damaged. The movers were patient and adaptable because the destination service elevator didn't work, and we had to share elevators with other residents. They were also very understanding when my partner asked to adjust where the furniture was placed. My only criticism would be the method of payment the company has. I was asked to show proof of deposit, which I paid on Zelle a month ago, but I never received a confirmation email or document to demonstrate that clearly. I had to go through my Zelle history to find it, which cost us time from unpacking. The Zelle payment option is convenient indeed, but I wished the movers were informed of my deposit before making the trip out. As other reviewers have said, their pricing structure was the most reasonable compared to other DC moving companies. 3 hard-working men came to my row house and barely stopped working for 4 hours. I've never had movers wrap delicate furniture so well (with their own supplies). My U-Haul was slightly too small, but they packed efficiently from the very beginning so that most of my belongings fit. They were experts at packing in the crevices and not a SINGLE thing broke on our 8 hour drive. I wouldn't look elsewhere for a moving company. Remember to provide waters for your movers! read more

I had a slightly complicated case where I had to move out of my apartment quickly, place my things in storage for over a year, then move my things to another state. Primarily, I enjoyed working with one point of contact, Brittany. It made the experience easier and personable. Additionally, we negotiated a competitive price for the move and for storage. For the moves themselves, the team was incredibly fast and careful with my items. They took the time to wrap everything very well. I recently had them deliver my things to another state. The owner, Robin, was responsive, accommodating and kind. Rates were extremely reasonable, with no hidden gotchas. The moving crew showed up promptly, maybe even a little early. They were friendly, quick and very professional. Something I didn't think about before the move was the need to disassemble furniture before the move and then re-assemble after the move. The Express crew had all the necessary tools to skillfully take apart and then put back together the furniture without a single glitch. Lastly, the crew carefully wrapped and protected furniture prior to the move. So, there was no damage. Express Moving was a delight to work with--you could text them instead of call, they were very responsive, and very thorough in making sure you understood everything. They even gave us a good deal because they had a truck going in our direction anyway. However, I think they contracted the move itself to another van line (Moving Solutions), who were brutal. No communication, had our stuff sitting in a warehouse for almost a week, lots of surprise charges, etc. Express Moving is great but should be more discerning about who they associate themselves with! read more

We recently moved to Florida from Virginia using Express and I wanted to tell you that if you need movers, do not hesitate to contact Robin and Cindy! They both were quick to respond to all inquiries and we worked through a few snafus (date changes, etc) with no issues. Wyatt, Gabriel, and Ever were terrific and very hard working! The only issue was a leak that developed in the truck on the trip from a heavy rainstorm (ah southern living). Luckily everything was so well packed that nothing was affected. Also, nothing was broken or damaged. I cannot say this about other movers (looking at you JK Moving). We'd definitely use them again. FYI: If you are hiring movers, make sure to buy them lunch and tip well! It's the least you can do, especially during pandemics. read more

There are so many moving companies in the DMV area, but I was fortunate to come across Express Moving & Storage! I spoke with Robin, the owner, for a virtual walkthrough, and he quoted me a fair flat-rate fee for my long distance move which included the use of moving blankets, tape, and other packing supplies. They may not be the cheapest movers around, but the company has great reviews and no red flags through USDOT (very important!) so it was worth the peace of mind. On moving day, the company sent a three-person team who arrived early and immediately went to work wrapping our furniture and loading everything onto their moving truck. Our furniture was delivered promptly later that day and nothing went missing or arrived damaged. The movers were professional and worked expediently at the destination to get us settled. We cannot say enough about Express Moving and Storage!! They were the best moving and storage company we have ever worked with. They picked up our home contents in one city, stored them at their facility for over 3 months and then scheduled delivery to our new address on the day and time we requested. Everything was in perfect condition. I have never seen such attention to detail in wrapping every item and careful handling of our things. They were fast and efficient as well. We recently completed a move from the DC area down to St Petersburg FL and using Express Moving and Storage for our move was likely one of the best decisions we made. Wyatt and his team arrived on the earlier side of the given time window and did a thorough job disassembling and wrapping up the furniture. The delivery process to the new location went smoothly and efficiently and they did a great job with placement and reassembling of furniture. I can not say enough about how excellent this company was to work with for my move. The guys showed up earlier then I expected and asked if it was okay if they started early, which was okay with me.
