After having a storage unit at the location less than 1 mile from here (for less than one year) and then raising our rate over $100, we drove around the corner to this location right on Lee Highway and the young lady at the front desk was so helpful, so sweet and so polite. She even told us that the insurance is not required unlike the PS around the corner who told us we are required yo pay for insurance. The rate for the exact same 10 x 10 outside access units to store a motorcycle was $96 a month less than the Public Storage location less than 1 mile away. read more

Was there for many, many years and the rates went up drastically multiple times a year. Started off paying $231 a month and over the years went up to $950. I just moved out. The staff, most of them not all, were very rude and unhelpful. No one ever answered the phones. The area and higher management is awful and impossible to speak to let alone work with. They do not allow you use of their dumpsters even during working hours. I hated everything about Public Storage and I have used many different companies over 20+ years. They are by far the worst. I will NEVER use them again and always refer people AWAY from using this company. I am in real estate and people ask me often who to use to store their furniture and belongings. This company is a money grab and will use any excuse to charge you a fee or to raise your rent with barely any notice. I have since moved to Extra Space storage and am very happy. read more

Spaces are extremely clean and rates are reasonable. Staff, however can be clueless at best, rude and dismissive at worst. No two people seem to be on the same page as far as what's happening on site. The location is secure but a bit of a hassle getting into and out of. If you are able to get a cart, consider yourself lucky. They are a hot commodity which you have to check out depending on who is at the desk. (Sometimes it requires just a name, sometimes an ID, sometimes nothing at all. It's a toss up.) Danielle is the only staff member who seems to be consistent, pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable as to how the place operates. The clean, accessible space is the only reason we continue to keep our unit because it certainly isn't for the friendly customer service, but they do get an A for keeping the place immaculate. read more

KEEP IN MIND THE POSITIVE REVIEWS ARE FROM YEARS AGO I signed up 12/31 and had hopes for the $1 move-in rate, after everything it was well over $60 with the insurance, one time fee, and paying for the lock. So all in all you pay $36 a month plus $11 for the insurance on a 5x5 space. FYI. I recently found out I was moving and have been busy with that and barely had any time to go grab my things until yesterday (the day before rent is due). I called at 5:31pm and asked about moving out. The person who answered agreed that I could get my stuff out before tomorrow and I would have the monthly fee charged to my account but then be reversed as long as I got through the gate, since they keep track of who is entering. He also stated he would note my account about the move out. Keep in mind, I have only been there once when I initially dropped off my stuff. He did not mention there is a move out procedure nor did he mention that the facility was not 24 hour accessible. Yes, I am aware that I should have known/googled that information but I do not recall ANYONE providing me that information when I moved my stuff in. So I arrive at around 10:45pm because I had just got off from work at 10 and I just then created my account online so I could access the gate code and then it states it was denied and that its after hours. So I leave and call today 2/1 to see if I am able to come in later to pick up my stuff. I think it was Jack or Jake I spoke to and told him my situation and that the other rep from the previous night told me it would be okay to come as long as it was before 2/1, and that he did not mention I had to come in before 9pm or else the gate would be closed. He then went on and on about how I needed to get there by 12pm today and MAYBE my account would be okay and that if I came in by 6:30pm it would already by 2/2 so that would be a whole other day. He continued to tell me that the times were in my contract and that I should have known this. I quickly opened my lease and the other doc sent to me and no where was that stated; to which I told him. He then continued to be super condescending and talk to me like a child about how I should have known the times and that there was a procedure for moving out. I asked if I could pay for the one day and he stated no. He went on to tell me that he would reach out to manager about the situation and she would get back to him and he would then contact me. I asked if I could get her information to which he replied that that was not procedure. So we ended the call. He calls me back mins later to tell me that my situation would not be worth calling the manager about and that I should have know the times and that I was told the times. He stated that if I can't come in HOURS before 6 then my account would be charged. I completely understood that knowing that it wasn't a 24 hour accessible establishment was something I could have looked into; what I don't understand is that I made an attempt to move out and I made the effort to contact them yesterday and today after attempting to get my stuff, and am treated like crap because I ask to get my stuff out one day late. Also, I offered to pay for the one day since he made it seem as if my stuff being in there one day would account for the whole month. I paid the rent for this month and hope that when I move out I will not have to deal with this employee. I've worked years in customer service and there are ways of dealing with these types of situations and trying to find a solution for both parties but he was adamant on talking to me like a child when I told him the hours were not mentioned to me, nor in my contract, nor had I been back since moving in, he was no where near understanding or the least helpful. Let's get some training on how to handle these types of situations or even just training on communication skills, companies are often responsible to provide these for their employees. read more

This facility does not offer written policy for how they run their protocols when calling customers. They have no problem calling all the phone numbers on file for payment, but when it comes down to calling their customers to confirm a move out date they only call one number on file. I asked for this protocol/standard in writing and all I received was "you can set up a payment plan for your balance due because we cannot waive the move out date". It is bullsh!t. If you need anything from this office better ask for it in writing and don't settle until you get what you asked for! read more

I needed a place to store all my extra parts and tools that I accumulate from my various hobbies. I pass by this Public Storage almost everyday during usual errands, so I decided to pop in and check it out. I was really impressed by the knowledge and care I received from the staff here. Karen and April know their stuff. Very professional, and answered all my random questions before I decided to lease. I wanted a drive up "garage style" unit, but they also have lots of other sizes, including climate controlled units. They had a perfect unit available for me, and for a price that couldn't be beat by any competitor. The unit is really easy to access via you personal gate PIN, and was very clean. I am very happy with my decision. The paper work was also really easy with no hidden fees. It took around 15 minutes to fill it all out, but that included me asking a bunch of questions, which were all politely answered. Just be prepared to wait a few minutes for help if you aren't the only customer there. There is usually only one property manager at a time. Be understanding, it will be well worth your time. I highly recommend this facility to store you stuff. UPDATE: After renting my original unit for about a month, I realized that I should of got a larger unit. Karen gladly helped me out, and it was super easy to "upgrade" my space. Once again we walked around the facility looking at all the available options and I found a nice larger unit. No wind blows in under the door, and it stays dry, even during the nastiest of storms. I feel good about leaving my things in there. If you are in the need for a unit in the area, I highly recommend this location. read more

I cannot say how horrible this location is, there is something always wrong. Elevator is always broken. I use to store my items in another storage and there was never an issue. Last night I got locked insider Public Storage. The gate for my car to leave would not open. I called them and the man there was telling me it was because I tried to leave late. NO IT WASNT! When I got there even at 7 there was a couple waiting for what I now believe to be someone to open them, because as soon as I typed in my code they ran into their car and drove off. I then got a police officer there who tried to open me for 3 hours and could not. I called again to speak to a woman who was extremely condescending and rude. While I was talking to the officer she was interrupting me. I told her I was talking to the officer and she demanded that I pay attention to her. I told her he was asking me questions. I ended up having to leave my car there, and the police drove me home. I then had to take an uber to get my car there this morning. When I got there the woman at the desk at had a customer and was waiting to talk to her about what happened. She asked me do I need anything and I told her I had to leave my car last night because the gate wouldn't open. She said oh that was you no wonder you left your car. And the said so... what do you want. SO rude. I have been calling them all day and they wont pick up the phone. Their Instagram has blocked me now since I told them my story. This is the worst company experience ever and the worst customer service ever. UPDATE: On Thursday, May 31, I got a call from Jillian Gonzalez, the area manager of Public Storage. She informed me that she tried to get in contact with me on Wednesday, the day before, not because of the fact that I was locked in the storage place for HOURS, but because she saw my Yelp review. She then informed me that the review would hurt her JOB PERFORMANCE and asked me to remove it. I was actually shocked when I saw such glowing reviews of this place. Now I know why. She calls people and asks them to remove it because it affects her job. She then then tells me that she sent someone over there but when they got there I was gone. WHEN?? I asked her this multiple times but she refuses to tell me when. She then tells me she would refund my uber fare with a Public Storage CREDIT, not a check. Did I use a Public Storage credit to pay for this Uber? She then leaves the most asinine emails. She tells me her boss knows all about her interactions and she is forwarding my emails to her as a way of intimidating me. She wont answer my questions about when this person supposedly came, and is pretending she never told me to delete my reviews, so she can have a better performance score at her job ($$$$$). I read all the reviews and really thought this place was going to be awesome. I needed a very temporary space during some construction at home and figured I could be in and out in under a month, so $1 for the first month seemed almost too good to be true. It was exactly that. After being nickeled and dimed for taxes, mandatory insurance, a new lock (even tho I already HAD a lock from a previous PS rental), etc. my first month's rent was well more than the advertised $1. I started my rental on Oct 25, and assumed that 'one month' meant one month and I would need to be out by Nov 25. Clearly I was wrong about that. Within 2 days of signing the contract, I was contacted multiple times by phone to give my credit card for future payment so that I wouldn't be charged any late fees. I explained each time that I was probably going to be out before the next month was to be charged, so I wasn't worried about it. About a week before Thanksgiving, I went to start collecting my things, and when I pulled up to my door, there was another lock on it. Luckily, it was during business hours and I went to the office to ask why my door was locked. The lady at the counter looked it up, and told me it's because I had a past due amount. I challenged this, as I hadn't even been in the space a month, and she agreed that I was right, and would remove the lock. What would have happened if I had come to the space after office hours? I wouldn't have been able to get to my stuff. Over the next week, I moved more of my things out, and had planned to finish getting everything out by the Friday after Thanksgiving. I went into the office on that Friday to talk to them about closing out my space, and was told that my 'month' ended on the 23rd (Thanksgiving). I explained that I started my month on Oct 25 and should be good til Nov 25. This is when it was explained to me that a month = 30 days and the day you start is considered 1 day, even tho I didn't sign up until the evening. So by this bizarre math, I was now past my end date, and would need to pay the rest of the month. I'm not a fan of their shadiness, and will never use this facility again. read more

I've been renting a unit here for over a year and they've been increasing the rent excessively. When I visited the property to check out the storage units, I asked the property manager about the indoor units and she made excuses about how those units are more expensive and she thinks I should go with the outside unit. I really didn't understand why she was insisting on the outside unit at the time. She didn't even show me any inside units and I am very suspicious of her motives. She escorted me to the outside unit, which is across from the auto repair shop. She gave me no choice and basically assigned the unit to me without my consent. The units across from the repair shop are difficult to rent because customers avoid them as there is lack of privacy due to prying eyes from the auto repair employees and customers. They use tricky and savage tactics to rent these units. When I arrived at the property to unload my belongings, the property manager - Karen accompanied my movers to the unit with a clip board and a notepad to take an inventory of the items I was storing, and I thought that was unusual and creepy. Again, lack of privacy. If you are planning to rent a storage unit at this property, please note that you will have to exit your car to punch in your key code each time you enter and exit the facility. This property is not equipped with a suitable entry system that allows you to sit in your vehicle and punch in the entrance code. This is an inconvenience that can be remedied however, I don't believe they have any intention of updating it. During inclement weather; snow, ice and rain sips through the sides and underneath the door of my unit. When it's windy, dust and debris flows into my unit. Whenever it rains, my boxes and other items that I stored in the unit becomes wet and I have photos of the damages. Part of the roof in my unit is leaking as well. The insulation on the ceiling had a huge hole and it has been expanding due to inclement weather. They were doing some type of construction work to the entrance of my unit and they blasted more dust and dirt into my unit. I reported these issues to the manager - Karen and she advised me to contact the senior manager. I called a few time before finally getting a response from him. He advised me to file a claim with the insurance company. I filed a claim, however the insurance company demanded that I hire someone to move the items out of the unit, and take photos of each individual damaged item and forward photos to them. I sent photos of the flooded unit, showing water and water marks on the boxes and other items in the unit. My claim is still pending or suspended as I have not been able to move items out of the unit to take photos. Karen had advised me of the availability of a restroom in the property that was open and available to all customers. Later, I found out that she had restricted access to the restroom and put a lock on the door. If you plan on renting a unit here, I hope you take this information into consideration and make a wise decision. read more

UPDATE: September 2017: I was told when signing up that if I were to move out between the 1st and 5th of the month, that the months payment would be prorated back to me. This was important to me as I knew I would be moving out early in the month. Well, on the first day of the month I start to move out and my code would not work to get out of the property. The employee told me that I needed to make my monthly payment in order to leave. I said that wouldn't be a problem and mentioned the early-month move out prorate and she looked at me like I was crazy - they don't prorate anything she said. I made the full months payment and she told me to email the regional manager. A few days later I received a call from the district manager telling me that she was sorry about my situation but that they changed their policy "several months ago" (I have only been there for 4 months) and that there was nothing they could do to remedy the situation. Let me say that I understand there is always BS written in the "fine print" to allow for this, but to admit that they changed the policy but wouldn't honor the original agreement is pathetic. If Public Storage doesn't honor their original policy, they have lost a customer and any referral business from me ever again. November 2017 UPDATE: After being contacted by the District Manager in September, I was told that they would remedy/fix the situation and compensate me based on the original agreement I had with Public Storage. She told me that the payment needed to go through the proper channels so it may take 4-6 weeks for me to receive. Well, it is now past that window so I am again letting everyone know that Public Storage has now not held up their end of the bargain twice! WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS COMPANY?!?! Either they put greed/profit over their customers or they are inefficient liars whom do not deserve any customer's money. PATHETIC! read more

Be sure to read the fine print on your rental agreement. I rented this storage space for less than 2 years and my initial agreement was for $165 per month. This was quickly raised to $200 per month and then to $245 per month by the end of my rental there. It felt like a bait and switch. Also, unlike other Public Storage facilities from which I have rented, they do not prorate rental fees and will charge you for the whole month even if you move out within the first two days of the month. Hours are restricted, so be careful not to let the doors close behind you after 9:30 or you will be locked out of the building even if your unit is unlocked and your items are still in the hallway. Dollies are rarely available. Otherwise, the indoor facility was clean and air conditioned. read more

I was able to book a large unit at last minute notice. Karen took care of my transaction from start to finish. She went above and beyond the call of duty to provide water to me and our movers. She assisted in coordinating and communicating while we unloaded. I appreciated the rates, quality and cleanliness of the facility. My suggestion to anyone wanting to bring in a large 52 foot trailer, you will need to either have an expert driver to maneuver the tight turns, or you will have to unload from the front going through the office. I would suggest no larger than a 42 foot trailer. Cassandra also helped out a lot during unloading. She even made a trip for the movers to pickup up some sodas. This Public Storage facility is secure, clean and bright. The BIG problem is that I am paying for a climate controlled unit where they claim to guarantee the highest the temperature will reach is 80 degrees in the warm months. This has been a continual problem, in that the air conditioner is never working and the temperature in my unit is consistently well above what it should be. This morning, before it even got hot outside, the temperature inside my "climate controlled" unit was already 86 degrees. They keep claiming to "fix" the a/c, however the onsite staff admitted that the a/c unit needs to be replaced, but corporate doesn't want to have it replaced, and just keeps having it "fixed". I was offered a unit on a lower floor that is slightly cooler, however they had the nerve to tell me that they would be charging me MORE for a new unit. I think not. I'm not even getting what I've been paying for in my current unit. Think twice before renting a unit here if clmate control is important to you!!! read more
