    I rented a storage unit with CubeSmart on May 25. On June 3, I realized I needed additional storage…read morespace and called to arrange for another unit located close to my existing one. The representative I spoke with, Penny, informed me that she had suitable units available and assisted me with what I understood to be a transfer. Because I had already rented a U-Haul and needed to move quickly, I agreed to the arrangement. Penny assured me that I could leave my U-Haul in the parking lot overnight and return the following morning to complete unloading. When I returned, my access code still only worked for my original unit. I had not received any confirmation email, updated paperwork, or written documentation regarding the changes discussed. I called the office and left a voicemail, but no one returned my call. Over the following days, I made multiple attempts to resolve the issue. I called several times and left messages, again receiving no response. I also arrived at the facility before work one morning to speak with someone in person. The office was scheduled to be open, but no employee had arrived by the time I had to leave for work. Later, Christine contacted me while I was already on the phone with CubeSmart customer service. She explained that she had been addressing several issues related to Penny's work and stated that there was nothing she could do because there were no longer any available units that met my needs. She advised me to submit a formal complaint online and said she would contact her supervisors and follow up with me by the following Thursday. She specifically stated that she would contact me regardless of the outcome. I never received any follow-up. On June 22, I contacted customer service again and spoke with Cici. She reviewed the notes on my account, apologized for the situation, and assured me that the matter would be escalated to management. As of June 24, I still have no resolution, no meaningful communication from management, and no solution to the issue that began on June 3. This situation goes beyond a simple mistake. I was given clear assurances about a storage arrangement that was never completed, relied on that information when coordinating a rented moving truck, and spent considerable time attempting to obtain answers. Despite repeated outreach--including phone calls, voicemails, in-person visits, and conversations with both local staff and customer service--I have received no follow-through or accountability. At this point, I am still waiting for a response or resolution. The lack of communication, missed commitments, and failure to address what should have been a straightforward issue have been extremely disappointing

    I rented two 10X20 storage bays for 9 months. I paid on time for both and thought I was doing…read moreeverything right when I called the 1-800 number to notify them I was moving the items out and they said no notification process was needed. So I moved my things out but they charged me for a full month rent for one of the bays which was over $600! I had items in there for 5 of the 30 days of June so I was expecting a refund of the difference. I was told that because I did not notify the Gainesville office and notified the 1-800 corporate they would not refund my money. Buyer beware!! I will not use this facility again as a result of this billing practice!

Not just a few, the boxes were filled with them! Handfuls of stink bugs. We're still going through our belongings, there is no telling how many of our things are ruined. This place is the worst! If you care anything about your belongings, do not store them here!

    I have had units there for twenty years. For two years I have kept a credit balance on my account…read moreas that was the rate two years ago and I wanted to be ahead a month. They recently raised the rate again, but I paid the full amount September 2, 2015. Imagine my shock when I went to my units and found them locked with red locks. The person on duty took the locks off, but no explanation was given other than it was a computer glitch. How can an account with an over payment be confused with no payment? I was charged a twenty five dollar late fee and sent a letter stating I didn't pay the rent and if I didn't promptly pay, the next letter would say they were selling my stuff. I have yet to get an explanation that makes sense, or a letter of apology acknowledging the mistake, or informing me of the refund of the late fee to my account. I have called and left a message and visited the office three times. I can't get an answer or a confirmation that the late fee has been returned. Also the facility is a mess. The pavement is full of pot holes and the trash facility is gone, yet they raised the rent. There are vehicles in front if my unit and it appears they put profits ahead of taking care of the facility. There are 30 red locks in just the one part of the facility. I just don't believe I am the only one they are trying to illegally and unfairly take possessions from. I paid the rent but they locked me out and have now made the first move to take my stuff. I don't think it is right but so far no one has set it right. The man who wrote the letter did take the locks off and he has been nice, but to my knowledge, the issue has not been rectified. I tried to call two different numbers this morning to leave another message, but all I get is a fax machine noise, even though I called the phone numbers listed. I don't know what is happening regarding management over there, but I do know that in twenty years of having storage units there, until now, no one has had trouble in not mistaking having a two hundred eighty dollar credit for non payment. As a footnote to my review, I got a call today that they are removing the late charge and sending me a letter that my account is fine. Haven't received it yet, but I'm told it's coming. I'm still wondering how this could have happened, and I had a receipt acknowledging payment September 2nd and that didn't keep them from putting locks on my units and claiming non payment. I'm not sure what good a letter will do, but I requested it in case they do sell my stuff at auction. This has never happened to be before. It's not typical for a business to cash a check, give a receipt, but then claim non payment while a two hundred eighty dollar credit was on the account too. At least I think they are fixing it, but how do I know it won't happen again? I plan on moving my things out of there.
