It is not often that you get great customer service nowadays. My first interactions were with Ell…read moreand Josh. Ell was very helpful and have a thorough explanation of the rental process and she did it with a genuine smile that you could feel that she was happy to assist without any hesitation. I was able to get the units I needed in the time frame I was looking for. I have to say that it was the team work between Josh and Ell that made that happen. Josh assisted and was able to find the units that were becoming available. He and Ell made this process such a delight when I was expecting it to be somewhat stressful with the time frame I had. Not only was this experience a breath of fresh air, but it continued each time I was at the facility. The maintenance and care of the facility is just as nice. Each time I have made a trip to my unit I see all of the crew doing something around the facility and each time they make eye contact and greet you with a smile. Josh was painting on one occasion and stopped what he was doing to acknowledge me and say good morning. You do not get this kind of acknowledgment anywhere these days and when you do it's definitely recognized. Thank you Josh, Ell and the other extremely kind and helpful maintenance helper that all I can remember is he has been with them for 4 years . I didn't want to get his name wrong. Keep up the great work and keep smiling . We need more experiences like these.

I rented a medium-sized storage unit here for about 7-8 months. I definitely shopped around a bit…read moreafter seeing that some storage units had mice problems and some customers had very negative experiences with management. In my mind, I put the storage unit business a couple steps above the DMV, so I'll try to highlight the things Mini U Storage at Potomac Yard did well without too much of a negative bias - * Management was very responsive and communicative, and easily reachable via email. I found this to be true at move-in and move-out * I did not have any mice problems in my unit * They had moving trolleys inside of the warehouse, making my move in and out very easy * I was able to rent a truck without too much hassle for moving in to the unit and moving out * Because their systems were down when I moved in, it took a very long time to do things manually. However, ownership apologized and as I was buying a lock & key for the unit, they covered the cost on the house. Thank you! * I did have a rate hike, but it was only about $10/month. I called in, and they were transparent about what I can expect based on what management had done in the past As always, be sure to read the terms and conditions of your conditions and clarify any questions you have before you sign on the dotted line!

I was a customer of CubeSmart for three years and it was the most disappointing experience I have…read morehad with a company in a long time. I strongly suggest that people looking for a self-storage unit avoid this company and consider all the other options. Here is a summary of my experience. * The initial monthly rate for a 10x15 storage unit (2nd floor and away from the elevator) was $298.92 (January 2022). The rate when I terminated my contract - November 15, 2025 - was $435.00. CubeSmart increases their rates on a yearly basis and the increases are significant and non-negotiable. * During the recent Federal government shutdown, I contacted CubeSmart to request a deferment of a payment and they refused to cooperate. I spoke with the manager of the location where my unit was located; as well as customer service (several times); and a District Manager by the name of Michael Jones. * Payment for my unit was due on November 8th. Despite my request for the company to defer the payment due until the Federal government shutdown was resolved, I received a notice on November 14, indicating that my payment was late; a late fee had been applied to my account; my entry code was disabled and my unit was locked until I made full the payment due, in full. I terminated my contract and emptied my storage unit on November 14th and moved my belongings to one of CubeSmart's competitors. CubeSmart lost me as customer who was in good standing because they were so unbelievably unfriendly and unwilling to negotiate deferment of one monthly payment.
