I can't fully express in words how sincerely I discourage anyone from doing business with this company. I have never been so disrespected and just generally slimed as a paying customer to a service provider. I had a great experience in the first half of my process with CityStash when my things were collected for storage. They weren't the most professional team, they bumbled around and were rushing, apologizing for knocking things into walls but never stopped rushing. That said, they were good, kind people and I was happy to look past a little damage-free klutziness. When it came time to have my things delivered, the situation went south quickly. At the very end, I think possibly even after my delivery window, I got a call saying they were running late and hadn't even picked up my things from the warehouse to be delivered. I had been calling the main line for updates but didn't get a call back for hours, long after they would have known they wouldn't make it within the delivery window. Again, while it was annoying and could have been handled better, these things happen and I was willing to look past it. The delivery was finally made about 7pm and the movers again arrived flustered and rushed through the process, again banging into things and dinging walls. I assured them it was no big deal and not to worry, I understood sometimes life goes wrong. Once they had finished putting everything in the house, they let me know they had misplaced the specific hardware to reassemble a major piece of bedroom furniture - dresser with attachable mirror. I was told they would collect new screws from Home Depot and see me "first thing in the morning," calling me about an hour before they arrived. The next day I waited until 11 before I began calling, again waiting hours for a callback. This is when I began to get frustrated. When the owner finally called me back around 4pm, he said to me: "I don't know who told you that or why, but that was never going to happen." After exercising a healthy dose of patience and understanding through this, I had now taken not one but two unnecessary days off of work and a snarky remark from he business owner was the last thing I wanted to hear. Two full days later, the job was complete beginning on Tuesday and ending on Friday. The owner will likely be surprised by this review, though I'm not sure why. I clearly communicated my frustrations and he took little to no responsibility for the issues, blaming everything largely on the team he had sent in. When he wasn't blaming his team, he was all but shrugging his shoulders at me. While they certainly were part of the problem, my real grievance rests with him, who handled the situation with the grace and professionalism of a kindergartner in a boardroom. I was refunded $35 for the over half of a week of inconvenience, which perhaps was more insulting than no acknowledgement at all. read more

I only had about 8 items and they damaged one and completely destroyed the other one. When I reached out to them about this they told me it was basically expected that my bookshelf was going to break during the move even though it was in totally fine condition when they picked it up. They also said they would come try to fix the dresser that they damaged, but they never committed to a time to come and eventually started ignoring my emails. The concept is great but if they are going to carelessly break things then that is worse than them not moving anything at all. read more

This is the way storage should be done. I had a love seat and a few bits that I needed out of the house to make way for a new roommate. I am so glad I found CityStash! The cost for storing my items was the best out there. Even better, they came and picked everything up! No renting trucks and begging friends to come help me move stuff. I am so glad I didn't have to lug that love seat myself. It was so easy to let them know that I needed stored, their estimate prices were spot on, and they bring as many boxes/containers as you think you'll need, then only charge you for what you use. The staff is brilliant! Polite, friendly, helpful, professional, personable... all that good stuff. In a time when customer service seems dead, these guys are beyond wonderful. They were on time, professional, and accommodating to some unforeseen needs that arose. the best part is that the storage fee for all of my items is extremely competitive with the local storage facilities, and that includes them picking the items up at my apartment. I absolutely recommend CityStash. Each item is priced and inventoried individually. So before you even schedule a pick-up with them, you know exactly what you will be paying. Once they have your items you can see each one online and request to get some or all back. Their website is super user-friendly and a real person responds to online inquiries very quickly. I've now had CityStash do every part of the transaction; pick up, store, and deliver stuff. For both the pick up and delivery they were right on time. The moved quickly and efficiently, but also took care with my furniture. Everything came back in the same shape it left in. The same two guys picked up and dropped off my stuff and they were both super friendly and very nice. CityStash has great customer service all around, both in the office and out in the field. The company runs very efficiently, both in the office and in the field and they take good care of your stuff. I've been very impressed with my experience at CityStash and would definitely recommend them as a storage solution. Now if only these guys would do my long-distance move, as well.... read more

Couldn't recommend this more--Tim of Citystash was extremely helpful and accomodating! After coming back two times to change the containers (I kept changing my mind between boxes and containers; ending up doing both), he was always courteous, timely, and responsive. The day I had my boxes picked up, I needed another one, and he kindly returned within 30 minutes to bring a large container! I really appreciate the high level of service brought forth, and it made the process of moving that much easier by having the containers picked up, and very affordable compared to using a public storage space! I had a day bed and a dresser I didn't want to sell - so I had them for future use and living in the city didn't have a truck to move stuff to storage, so I thought I would try City Stash. Pat H and his colleague were here when they said they were going to be here, took the day bed apart, wrapped the dresser and took my stuff to storage. So convenient and so easy to use. I'm in remodeling and decluttering mode, and in order to make way for work to be done (installing new flooring, etc.), I needed to clear out some of my STUFF. Although I've periodically considered renting a storage unit, the idea of having to haul multiple carloads of boxes offsite, and having to load and unload them myself, is not at all appealing. So, CityStash to the rescue! It's a simple concept: They drop sturdy plastic containers off at your place (as many as you want -- you can also use your own boxes if you prefer to do that), you fill them with items you wish to store, and then they return (like magic!) and take the containers away. Then, whenever you need any of your items back, they will return whichever containers you wish. Genius! And, exactly the kind of service that meets my needs. (I'm also self-employed, so am now planning to use CityStash for storage of work-related files/papers that I don't need to access regularly, but still want to keep available as archives.) I found CityStash to be very customer-oriented, replying quickly to any inquiries. The two nice young men who dropped off and picked up the containers were very personable and a pleasure to work with. Each time they came to my home, they arrived within the scheduled 2-hour window, calling me 10-15 minutes before their expected arrival. Any contact I've had with Tim (the co-owner) has been very positive as well. Finally, their website is very easy to use, both for scheduling and for keeping an online inventory of the contents of your containers. Their prices are reasonable, too, compared to rented storage units; any small premium that might be involved (it really depends on how much and what you are storing -- it may cost more or it may cost less) is well worth paying in my view because of the considerable convenience that this service offers. Amazing team, amazing service, the best storage you can have. These guys store things well (my guitar survived the storage without any problem). No possibility to personally access the storage and the items left but the pick up/delivery system is really great. They always answer any question, the customer service is very friendly and accessible and honestly the website is very fun. I recently made a last minute request because of an emergency, they accommodated it (it was a real emergency), it was without any doubt annoying for us because they were fully booked for the next day but they never made me feel it was the case. They provide an insanely convenient service (they will bring the containers to your door and into your home) with friendly, reliable staff and have great customer support. Excellent company that visibly cares about its customers. A couple of my items had been damaged and another couple lost in the delivery process, but the company's founder, Tim, personally called me several times to apologize and discuss how CityStash could make up for the delivery issues. I was not happy at all when I discovered what had happened to my items, but CityStash definitely did its best to make up for my troubles. I really appreciate how the company handled the situation--this is the perfect example of customer service! Also want to note that the movers themselves were incredibly friendly and professional. I had only positive experiences with CityStash. I recently pulled my couch out of their storage facility. When the delivery staff came to my place to drop it off, they removed the futon from the living room where the couch needed to be and took the futon to a truck outside my building so I could haul it to a local nonprofit for donation. The delivery staff were very pleasant and accommodating. This makes a big difference in dealing with furniture moving, which can be a nightmare if the movers are not professional and knowledgeable. My apartment has a small foyer in which it can be difficult to maneuver large objects, but the staff did an excellent, careful job. I totally recommend this company. read more

If you would like to be let down the night before your scheduled move, choose CityStash. If you would like to be told, because you're adding an extra item or two, that they can't pick those items up until the middle of next week, choose CityStash. If you would like to be going back-and-forth on email repeatedly because they do not supply a phone number to make contact for existing customers, choose CityStash. Here I am 11 PM the night before they are to pick up, scrambling to find another solution for a small order of two couches one chair and two stools. Ridiculous. The most misleading website I have ever seen. Oh it look so easy... Well not when they only have one truck for all of DC and can't add a few extra items. You'd think if they were customer service driven they would be happy to rent another truck and pick up additional items. Stay away! They've made my life crazy for the past 48 hours. read more

Citystash is extremely convenient and easy! All you do is schedule a time and they bring containers, you pack your stuff and then schedule a pick up time. Everyone I have met has been extremely helpful and professional, they arrive on time & make the entire process very easy. The owner responds to emails and inquiries immediately - this is an excellent company and I would absolutely recommend them! So much easier than renting your own storage space, lugging things over and then trying to find them in the storage unit when you want something. read more

We live in an apartment and don't have a truck...so city stash seemed to be the answer to our prayers when we were looking for storage for a living room set that we were giving to family. City stash was cheaper than other storage options and came to pick up the furniture on time. We just had the furniture delivered back to us and it was returned to us in the same condition as we left it. This company had great service and was a great deal for us.
