The storage unit seemed fine and clean when I moved my stuff in. However, when I went to pick my stuff up a little over a month later, I found termites in the unit. They also just more than doubled the rate three months after getting the unit. read more

Extra Space Storage - Self Storage Near Me - Arlington, Virginia

please replace the burned out and flickering ceiling lights. other than that i thnk you keep the place very clean - maybe the rolling pallets could use a pass with your mops. thanks read more

During our move, it quickly became clear that we had not asked for a large enough unit. Our home sold quicker than we could find a new place. So, the move turned into two events, rather than just one. I called Tony and he made it happen. Within less than 10 mins I had a huge unit that has enough space for us to safely house all our furniture. We've been using this location on and/off for about 5 years. It has helped to free up space during moves, home renovations, and major events. Thankful that it exists as an option and that Tony has been a steady help during our most stressful transitions. read more

I was looking for a storage to move my stuff before moving to my new house. Salam was really helpful regarding to finding the best storage for me that fits all my stuff. She showed me all the available units they had before making my final decisions. She was really nice and helpful read more

I rented a small storage locker a few months ago that I found to be a bit to small. So, today I went to the Four Mile Run facility where mine is to see if I could switch. Wow, I was in and out of there in 10 minutes! Tony showed me the bigger 5 x 5 which is perfect. He switched it in his system, I paid what I need to pay, and I was done. He is friendly, professional, and helpful. The facility is clean and I'm happy with choosing this place!! read more

I've been renting units here for years now (I've got 5 currently) and ever since Tony started the place has been awesome! Tony and his staff are really cool and responsive and keep the place in great shape! Any time I've needed something taken care of such as a light fixed etc Tony has been on top of it. Highly recommend this Extra Space especially compared to the other options in the area. read more

While I have no issues with the management of the location that I use, I wanted to mention a rather bizarre pricing practices. They keep increasing rates (and I am told that this is done centrally, not locally) while advertising similar units at much lower prices. So what I end up doing is periodically moving from one unit to another to secure new, lower price. That is fine when you have a small unit, but can be a hassle when it is a big one. read more

Deon was an amazing help to me while I used the extra space storage in Arlington. I would highly recommend this store based off of the professionalism and customer service I received. Thanks for all your help Deon. read more

Whatever is happening to require storage - moving, renovations, travel etc. - can be stressful. Tony R. and Deon H. were so helpful and patient! They went above and beyond to help me and work with me with timing. The space is clean and well maintained. You won't be disappointed! read more

Is there anyone working at office at all? Came by 3x only to find out. No one is still at the office and the lights are off during OFFICE HOURS??!!! Are you SERIOUS??? This isnt the first time it happened. Please staff properly. Pointless putting out office hours if NO ONE IS LITERALLY at THE OFFICE!!! read more

Bryan and Tony were great!!! Very clean place! Would definitely recommend this place if you looking for a good storage to go to

Tony is an excellent manager and he is friendly, personable and efficient. I love the four mile run location

The team at this location was extremely helpful and accommodating over the course of my 3+ year rental. The location was extremely convenient and accessible. I had to rent additional units from time to time and getting the units rented (even after hours) always went smoothly. I only canceled the unit due to a move out of state. read more

The customer service at this location is unlike any I've seen they are extremely helpful guiding me through this the whole way I highly recommend this place read more

Nice place, clean, functional. Looks like people provided everything to make your life easy when you are in facility. It's easy to connect Tony if you need some help, he comes quickly if you need his presence. Thank you, Tony. And fortunately for me anything triggered my allergy for cleaning supplies. Guys use something simple, exactly as Josh told when I was renting my unit. Thank you guys for your job! read more

Extra Space Storage at Four Mile Run is the place to go! Josh Minnix' excellent customer service is impressive. Josh actually surprised me with his careful listening, thoughtful suggestions, friendly, personalized service and extra efforts to find the best solutions to meet my somewhat complex storage needs. Top scores, Josh! I'm truly impressed! read more

We've been using this location for years and they've always been good to us. I wanted to name drop Tony, Jessie, and Tatiana for always taking care of us. Definitely recommend. read more

Great experience so far. Jessie helped us. He was very friendly and helpful. The price was very reasonable. The facilities were very clean and well kept. read more

I rented a large (10'x20') unit at this facility in June 2019. After only five months, they raised my rent 34% --- I've never heard of an increase like this! Chris talked with the regional office and apparently got the increase cut back to "only" 21% as indicated by the amount due for January. However, they neglected to refund the difference on my December payment! Be VERY careful if you rent from these folks. You may get an attractive deal up front - but the algorithms Extra Space Storage uses will nail you. And it's clearly inconvenient to move out on a moment's notice --- so they think they have you by the short hairs. read more

Tonys always super helpful and nice. He keeps the property clean unlike so of the other storage places I've seen

I recently purchased a unit and I am so happy with my decision. The service is outstanding! Tony has exceeded my expectations in every way. I would highly recommend this location to anyone in need of a unit :) read more

I had nothing, but a great experience having a unit here. The manager was always kind and willing to help. Highly recommend this place.

Love these guys. Super friendly, good guys, good rates for the area. We've worked with Tony and really enjoyed his help.

I stored some of my stuff that didnt fit into my temporary housing for a year while I waited out covid to relocate for my new job! Could not be happier with Extra Space. The storage was super clean and safe. It was super easy to get to and get stuff in and out. And it was a breeze for my movers to move stuff out. They had trolleys that made it extremely faster. If I am ever in NOVA and need storage again, I will go with these guys! All my experiences with managers (Tony and Josh) setting up my space and moving out was very nice and easy. They are super helpful and friendly! read more

Tony has been an incredible help with our cross country move. We have had so many issues with the movers we hired, and Tony has been there to help us and support us with our move. I will be recommending this storage facility to everyone in the area because of how helpful Tony has been. read more

Tony is the man here! If you need help he has your back. He got me all straightened out and explained everything very well. Top notch employee here and very nice clean business. read more

Been renting multiple units here for over 5 years. The current management team is great. I promise you will not find a more helpful staff and you will not find a cleaner climate controlled building. They have been more than fair with me and know me by name when I walk in. -It's month to month and there are increases... but this company allows you to lock in a rate if you agree to pay ahead... most do not. I pay 12 months at a time and they even throw in a 13th month on the house. Any increases are negotiable and recently the manager lowered my rate. -I have not seen any signs of pests. The place is spotless compared to other facilities in the area. -I have been late on my bill and they are more than fair even calling me prior to a late fee hitting to make me aware. I was told they do not sell items at auction until at least 60 days of non payment, but it's often a longer time than that. A+ read more

We have not even moved our items in yet and I know I made the right decision with this location. Tony the manager was so easy going and he had great customer service! We look forward to our rental with him. read more

Always a ton of help! I'm here now unloading and need a new lock. Tony is beyond helpful!

In terms of customer service, cleanliness of the facilities, and availability of moving equipment, this place is great. That said, they have had some roll-up gate issues that continue to vex them. HOWEVER, I left this facility because they raised my rent as soon as they possibly could (after the normal monthly rate kicked in). That really sucks in terms of scaring the &^%$ out of me that this was going to continue...so I moved to Security Public Storage in Herndon (who agreed to a rate cap). If not for that price gouging increase, I would have stayed a long time. read more

This review is for the office only - I am not using their facilities. Last week I came here to look at some options for storage - my fiance and I have moved in together and not only have to fit two different homes into one tiny apartment in Alexandria, but the gifts from the wedding registries are coming in and we're just completely out of space. The facility is clean, and it's close to the Shirlington Dog Park. The parking situation is limited, but they do have the area where you can actually pull your car up to a huge garage door and unload your items. When I arrived, the store manager, Claudia, was AWESOME. She was just coming back from showing another potential client the facility and was very pleasant to talk to. Unfortunately, there was a woman who came in after me and demanded to be served first, as she "places to go!!!". Claudia kept her cool the ENTIRE time (I would have lost it long before) and was just very calm and polite when she explained that she could only take customers one at a time, and in the order they arrived. Claudia was super cool and explained the options that she had available. She showed me everything that I wanted to see and even apologized for the rude customer (even though it wasn't her fault, and still, I commend her for her professionalism). When I explained to her that I was still going to look around, she offered to hold a space for me for a week. Ultimately, we went with another company (it was cheaper and closer to the neighborhood that we're looking to buy a house in), but I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking to have a storage unit in Shirlington. Claudia was THE BEST to work with, and the customer service usually speaks more to me than the actual service. read more

We've been renting storage space from Claudia for years. She is wonderful! Friendly, helpful, smart, patient...and always remembers us. She has helped us change units and finds us exactly what we are looking for. The location is great, the facility is clean and well kept, secure, and the prices are more than reasonable, especially when you look at other storage companies' facilities and amenities. I strongly recommend ESS Four Mile Run, and am grateful that Claudia is there! read more

I wish I could give a negative star. The WORST customer service I've ever experienced. Do NOT use this company

Fast and courteous service at a reasonable price. My wife and I needed a temp storage unit until we are able to move into our new place and Extra Space was conveniently located at a reasonable price. We were able to get a 5x10 unit near the front on the first level to make off loading that much easier. Try them out for your storage needs and you won't be disappointed. read more

After safeguarding my things at Extra Space Storage for so many years, I keep getting reminders about what a good decision I made when I chose to store my things here. I had a worry (which turned-out to be unnecessary) and called the facility and Tony IMMEDIATELY answered my call and helped me. He is both friendly and professional, and it's totally apparent that he CARES. So, not only are the facilities kept TOTALLY CLEAN and climate controlled, but the company is smart enough to get talented employees who care about customers. After Tony helped me, the next day I got a follow-up from Josh. My things that I keep at Extra Space Storage are not particularly valuable, but they're important to ME, and it's so awesome--and rare today--to have a business relationship with a company that actually tries to do a SUPERIOR job and that hires great people and trains them well. It's necessary to have a clean and secure facility but it's insufficient if its without stellar employees. With Extra Space Storage, I get GREAT facilities and EXCEPTIONAL customer service, too! Thank you! read more

Had a unit in Extra Space for almost two whole years. They always billed on time, always had a staff person to help me (when I always forgot my code to get in the building after hours), and helped me figure out my pro-rated billing when I left. Very clean and climate controlled. read more

It is okay. The facility is clean and people are friendly. Just be warned about their online specials. They don't tell you that the specials only last a few months then the rate per month increases astronomical. If I was told that, I would have chose my unit differently. Now, I'm stuck cause I can't get people there to move me out and move me into another unit. Ask lots of questions about the rate and know what you are getting into. Since they run a month to month business, they can do shady things cause the original lease you sign doesn't really matter after one month. read more

We rented a 10x10 indoor climate-controlled unit. The elevators are large, the place is secure, and things seemed clean and well-kept. Jessica in the office was extremely helpful and answered our questions and handled things so quickly and efficiently that it was over in only a few minutes. Parking is limited, but there are 3 standard loading docks available to be used at the same time. read more
