Deteriorated over the years from A to C. Constant issues with security - sometimes it's the main gate, one of the sliding doors (2 at the front, one at the rear). High turnover of staff. It was nice when you knew the faces and names of people. Some carts don't work as they should - a wheel off, doesn't turn. To get you in, they start with low fees but you will need to pay for the year if you want to keep that fee. That's standard practice so that's a reminder cos once it goes up it's up. Any specials don't apply to existing customers oh well. I know that they auctioned a friend's storage units without contacting her at all, which is against the law - so keep in mind this could happen if you don't pay the fees. I rented a unit in the Liberty Harvest Court, Sterling VA in March 2026 for $43 including insurance. Today, June 2026 I received a letter telling me the rate will go up to $58. An increase of $15 in three months. I already heard from other customers they lure you in with a very good rate and within months they charge you $100 plus. I contacted the facility multiple times, via email and physical in person. No one is ever on the premises, when I arrive. I've been trying to cancel my storage agreement since 29 September 2025. Here we are now 13 October and no one has contacted me. I've vacated the storage unit 28 Sep and afraid they'll charge me again, this is ridiculous and unprofessional. Not to mention my rental charges were increased by $70.30 without a notification. read more

I'll be removing all my items next month and closing my account. The property has become more expensive but worse over the last 1.5 year. The rent has increased at least twice, and today when I went I found: trash, used needles, and rat poop. When I first starting renting a unit here, it was clean and everything seemed well run. I believe management or ownership changed since then because it's much worse. I wouldn't recommend this storage facility at this time. read more

As much as I love getting f***ed in the rear, I prefer that not be done by businesses without consent and written notice. Self storage plus nearly doubled my rent. I never received notice they were doing so. When I called I was told "because the rent increase already took effect we won't change it". Also the elevator doesn't work half the time, the ac has been out a lot, and the units aren't fully enclosed. It would be easy, if someone wanted to steal your stuff, to simply climb over the interior wall of a storage unit and gain access to your storage unit. I hope no one would do that because that's unethical and I don't like my stuff getting stolen, but it's a security flaw to be aware of before spending your hard earned money on, what is in my opinion, one of the lowest quality storage facilities I've ever encountered. However, if you're into my previously mentioned activity this is a great storage facility! Very discrete. Not many mice from what I can tell. Highly recommend if that's what you're into. Very strongly don't recommend if you don't want to be strong armed into paying more than the initially agreed amount because the company/owner is greedy (but hey, it's all about that share holder value, am I right?). read more

Today was first day I accessed my storage unit. I rented the unit on line and that was easy enough. I chose Self Storage Plus because of the very competitive initial rate (first mistake). When I arrived to unload my trailer and SUV full of stuff, I found that only one of the two elevators was working. Of course, the working elevator was at the other end of the building from where I was parked and there are no spaces available to park at the other end. So, I start lugging my stuff to the only working elevator and all is going as planned. I get half my load up to the storage unit and the only working elevator fails. Other tenants tell me the emergency number was contacted and they were told a technician would be sent out. However, no time was given for the repair. Also, the unit was advertised as an 8'X10' unit and it less than 7'X10" Not a good start for using Self Storage Plus. read more

I'm so tired of seeing prices go up and we're not getting the 30 day notice that we're supposed to get according to our contract. They didn't plow for days after the storm we couldn't get to our stuff (mind you every other storage unit in the area was plowed out by day). Constantly the elevator, back door, and gate are not working. If I'm gonna be paying Primo prices than this place should be working efficiently and giving good customer service. I opened an account in July of this year and the rent has increased from $52 a month to $88 a month come November. That increase over 4 months is WILD. I don't live super close and I have gone to access the unit and the power was out. No communication from the building this was the case which would have saved the hassle. Elevators often down. It said temp controlled but it is hot hot in the summer. Rhe building is also not the cleanest and people are often not there when the hours say open. I was considering looking elsewhere given the conditions of the building but the significant price increase at very short notice has sealed the deal. I do not recommend. read more

I paid 170 a month in Jan of 2024, increased twice during the year and just received a notice 2 week before the due Sat of an increase to 315. Totally ridiculous - just saying, buyer beware. Other than that, the facility is clean, except for not enough carts and a bathroom that's typically out of service. read more

Excellent. Very courteous employees and a super good price on the space. The entire space is spotlessly clean. I'm glad I moved from the previous place, it was small, cost twice as much, it was filthy and the management seemed determined to charge me late fees without warning. I originally really liked this facility, but they have raised my rates by 71% over the last two years ($241 to $251). And although the rental agreement says that they have to provide 30 days written notice before increasing the rate, they mailed a postcard that arrived three weeks before the rent due date. I currently live three hours away, so it is not easy for me to find another facility and move my things in that time. What would someone who is stationed overseas do, I wonder? I know that inflation has been extremely high in the last couple of years, but this kind of increase and the lack of timely notification is just unethical. read more

The location is great and the facility is new; but the challenge is the elevators often breakdown and they institute rent increases every 6 months: my unit was $147 in 2020 and now I am paying $304/mth. Lastly if you are 5 days late paying your rent they will place a unit overlock on it and charge you an additional $60 for it to be removed. This recently happened to us because of the Memorial Day holiday and we simply forgot. They called and we paid. We understand we were late, but we feel the $60 fee and the excessive force with the unit overlock is too much. We looked at changing facilities a year ago but the cost of movers negates any savings. Choose your wisely because it is hard to change once you have moved in. read more

I was not satisfied because when I rented the storage, I had to pay insurance before moving in (there was nothing in the storage). After a week, when I went to look at Storage, I saw that there was rainwater left behind. I asked to change to another storage unit, so I had to make another application and have to pay more for Storage insurance. They said the old amount will be refunded. And after a week I didn't see the refund and went back to talk, they said it couldn't be refunded and I had to forfeit the money. Why should I lose it when I haven't moved in yet and there's something wrong with Storage . I'm really not happy at all . read more

I was relieved to have found a clean storage facility for my extra storage needs. I live in an urban area and even though it was going to be bit of a drive, I picked it because of the reasonable price. I rented the unit in October 2019 with Christina's help and being a brand new facility he assured (verbally) that the rates won't change until 2023. 6 months into the contract and I notice an increase of 12% in my bank statement (I am on autopay). When I contacted the regional manager Jimmy he wrote "This is in line with our rental increase policy to increase rates every 6 months" and "rates can change with the appropriate 30 day notice". He also wrote that he did a favor by not increasing the rate by 24% which was what they had initially planned. Points to note: 1. Contract doesn't state anything about the increase every 6 months. 2. They failed to notify me of the change. 3. Even though the contract says that the rates are subject to change with 30 days notice (a standard language in any contract) they claim to have emailed me rental rate increase notice just 10 days before my next billing statement. If you are part of this scam just like me, I sympathize with you, but if you are looking and have the option to choose a different facility, I highly recommend you to do so. read more

Friendly Staff. Excellent intro prices. Nice facility, with all space climate controlled. Convenient location (I moved from Alexandria to Springfield and this place is equally convenient to both). I spoke to the manager on the phone, and the assistant manager helped get me set up. It has been a few weeks (I just moved) so I can't recall their names, but both were friendly and helpful. No minimum contract to get in, despite the excellent intro prices. Of course the place is brand new, so everything is top notch. They have two entrances, each with an elevator, so that is very nice. They even have music playing in the aisles (startled me when I was there after hours). The one and only complaint is that sometimes there is only one staff member present. If s/he has to assist a customer (for example show a potential customer locker options) they have to lock the front door and leave a "back in 15 minutes" clock on the door. My condo doesn't have many closets and no storage options on-site, so I opted to get an offsite storage unit. Fortunately, Self Storage Plus recently opened this new facility on Industrial Drive, near Edsall Road at I-395. The place is bright, clean, climate controlled, has very good security and has good customer service and security gate hours. Worked with Christian, the Assistant Manager, to get my account set up, which took less than 30 minutes from start to finish. He made the entire process quite easy and I got a very good introductory price. Customers can pay every month online, and pay monthly fees in advance. While the introductory prices last only six months, the regular monthly fees are still very competitive with other storage places in the area, and their hours and facilities aren't nearly as nice. read more
