Customers should be able to rely on a moving service to honor the scheduled time, come prepared, and communicate honestly. Unfortunately, that did not happen here. What's more telling is that several other reviews describe the same experience I had--so this isn't an isolated issue. Instead of addressing that pattern, your assumption is that I "couldn't afford the move"... interesting. While I understand setbacks can occur, dismissing concerns by blaming the customer is not good business practice. The day of the move, the movers showed up early but it worked out. David A. and crew got the job DONE!!! They were about their business taking great care with packing and securing my property. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I had already packed my master bedroom and later completed the kitchen/dining room. Therefore, they completed the remaining three (3) levels and did a FANTASTIC job. I've never experience such experts with great customer service. The last movers I hired, dropped a case of Cooperhawks Wine and never replaced it. I would highly recommend this company, if you are looking for quality service. The pleasant surprise was that since I had packed some of my rooms, the quote went down because the Time & Material was less. So glad that I took the recommendations I received on Perry's, and decided to contact them.

We actually moved fewer items than originally planned and they took one day less than planned to conduct the move. Based on that, we expected the final invoice would certainly be no more than their estimate. Much to our surprise, Perry sent us an invoice for an additional $1846, which was 17% more than the estimate! For more than two months after the move, we went back and forth on the upcharge with Perry, including with one of their vice presidents, Brad Payne, asking them to explain the rationale for such a large upcharge. We thought they should zero it out given they moved less than originally estimated and took less time than planned. They never really explained why this additional charge was warranted and asked us to pay the full $1846. Incredibly disappointing. We reluctantly paid it, but I strongly recommend avoiding this company. Find someone else with ethical business practices.

We moved from a large house that was packed full of furniture and household items, including a shed…read morefull of stuff on July 5th, 2024 when the temperature was in the high 90's. Chris and his crew (4 people altogether) showed up when they told us they would be there, between 8-9am, showing up at 8:15. Right away, they were wrapping furniture and delicate items and being very careful with everything. They took apart items that could be taken apart, and moved a bunch of really heavy items without complaint. The last time we moved, another company tried to talk us into getting rid of our treadmill and other heavy items, but Chris and the crew just rolled right along with it. The move went great, we tried to keep the guys hydrated and they kept working all day until after 5 pm and still, not so much as a single complaint from one of them. Overall, all our furniture arrived undamaged and put in the right place and guys even had to move some furniture from one room to another (my mistake, miscommunication between me and my wife, who was at our old house) and still they just kept working. Chris is a real pro, a hard worker, very personable, great communication skills and he kept the move on track. When we were accepting bids I was almost passed on theirs because they were cheaper than all the other companies, but we took the chance and we're glad we did because Nation Capital did an outstanding job and we would use them in a heartbeat.

Justin was great in working with me to schedule things and get everything ready -- I ended up having to change my date because of winter weather back in IL and it wasn't an issue at all. The crew that came to pick up my stuff in DC was incredibly kind and fast -- Miguel was the head guy for their team and was very cordial. They came, wrapped things up, and packed it into the truck in just about 2 hours. Due to COVID-19 and them being super busy, my stuff was delayed in being delivered to IL but because of that I was discounted $200 which I was more than happy to comply with. Because it was delayed, I was unable to accept the move and they were okay with having my mom be there to accept it and gave me a secure link to pay for it online which was awesome. The only thing I'd note was that I missed the part that I had to pay half of the move in-person when my stuff was picked up via cash/money order so I ended up paying with card and that was an added 5% to the total of the half. It was probably in the paperwork but I just missed it -- so just something to note and keep in mind. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this company and would personally use them again.
