So after receiving a few quotes from a handful of businesses, I went with Potomac Moving due to the speed of their response, clarity in communication, pricing and overall warmth and professionalism. In our first phone call to walk though my needs, they were very assuring and accommodating, which is a such a relief in the midst of stress and coordination that comes with planning for a move. They were also always very responsive in the few times that I reached out between the time I paid the deposit and the actual move. A night or two before, I sent at email regarding wardrobe boxes, since I was debating whether or not I should buy and have a few delivered to me. The owner responded quickly, assuring me that wardrobe boxes were tried, true and if I wanted to buy any directly from them that I could. That ended up being a great call, because they were able to properly enforce the boxes so that even the boxes filled with my heaviest coats remained in tact. On the day of the move, the movers were communicative regarding their arrival time. They were also very nice and hard working. I had a few large furniture items that needed to be disassembled and they ended up being quite beasts to tackle. But they worked diligently to break them down. Once it came time to move things to my new place, that was a breeze. One gesture that I thought was just so classy, was the owner called in the middle of the move to check-in on how things were going - I really appreciated that. They were flexible with us as we had to reschedule due to weather, and had several complicated moves that were handled very well. As with any move, we took care ourselves to wrap things, communicate our needs and expectations, but I would do that with any mover. Ask questions, clarify and explain what you want. All furniture was wrapped carefully with moving blankets and secured and all breakables were treated with care. I've never seen a team of people work so hard!

We actually moved fewer items than originally planned and they took one day less than planned to conduct the move. Based on that, we expected the final invoice would certainly be no more than their estimate. Much to our surprise, Perry sent us an invoice for an additional $1846, which was 17% more than the estimate! For more than two months after the move, we went back and forth on the upcharge with Perry, including with one of their vice presidents, Brad Payne, asking them to explain the rationale for such a large upcharge. We thought they should zero it out given they moved less than originally estimated and took less time than planned. They never really explained why this additional charge was warranted and asked us to pay the full $1846. Incredibly disappointing. We reluctantly paid it, but I strongly recommend avoiding this company. Find someone else with ethical business practices.

Their price was fair and everyone worked extremely hard. I would have taken weeks to complete what they did in two days. Best of all they stayed to the quote price they gave a minimum and a maximum and came up in the middle! The only words of caution I would give to you are to expect a staff with only one or two native English speakers . The other guys are working extremely hard to please and take feedback very well, though. you may need to be clear and demonstrate or write out how you would like the box labeled for them. I felt like they did their best to respect our home, not tracking too much dirt. They also ensured that they missed nothing in our previous home packing even the tiniest of things. When they ran out of packing supplies, they called their supervisor who came by with more boxes. We paid additional to have our treadmill moved, and that wentoff flawlessly. They built all furniture that was taken apart, and I can't think of any damage we found. I would recommend treasure moving to anyone I knew. The owner called me and made sure I understood the pricing and was comfortable with the work being done at my home.

That was a big mistake. This time I went right to Doyle. You get what you pay for, my friends. Ryan, the owner, was very responsive and we made an appointment to do a video walk-through of our condo. We did the walk-through, he asked a lot of questions and then he promptly sent an estimate. We have a lot of things so it took five guys and two trucks. The crew leader contacted me the day before to confirm the details and they showed up promptly the day of. They were incredibly friendly, fun, and energetic the entire time. And very polite. They treated all of our things very well and didn't have a problem moving any of the weird odds and ends we couldn't find a way to pack. When we arrived they put everything in the new house where we wanted it and even though we could tell they were suffering from the extreme heat and the weight and amount of our things, they never lagged or complained. They put the beds back together quickly and correctly as well as the dining room table. I'd be in hospital if I had to move all my stuff. They also require cash or money order to pay the final payment, so you are unable to send a screenshot of bank info as proof of payment. They do technically allow Zelle, however there is a daily limit of $500 a day. When trying to get a receipt, the front office ghosted me. The good reviews are fake as well, they have you scan a QR code after pick up when all you've dealt with are the pickup movers (who were great) and hope that you don't change it later. Also took 6 weeks to get my belongings so don't forget anything you may need for up to 6 weeks once you move.
