When I hire a service via Yelp, I usually create a draft to remember the company for future reference and to leave a review later. Often, these drafts don't become reviews because the service was simply average--nothing noteworthy beyond the fact that the job was completed. However, I'm glad I saved JFP Express in my drafts because their service was excellent. I contacted three different companies through Yelp, but ultimately chose JFP Express because they were the only ones who provided an all-inclusive price with no hidden fees--unlike the other companies. I find it frustrating when businesses try to extract as much as they can from customers through various pretexts and dishonest practices. We had the best experience with JFP Express earlier this year. We scheduled our move and were so pleased with Matt, Dizon, and Darius who arrived on time for our cross-city move. They were coordinated and worked well as a team - two moving and one wrapping our furniture. The care was fantastic and they were very quick! When we arrived at our new house, they did a great job of placing each item where we wanted it and communicating well with each other and us. We discovered JFP Express when we had a very last minute move come up and had a less than a week to secure a moving company, pack, and actually execute the move. I called JFP Express for our first move and Alex responded within less than a hour. I created an itemized list of the items that we needed to move and provided it to her. She was able to present an incredibly competitive rate and fit us in the schedule for a move within the week. JFP Express sent out three guys for our first move from a two bedroom, two bath apartment. They were late by about an hour for our first move, but called to let us know. We had them move every piece of furniture as well as 15 plastic bins. On our second move, we decided that we would move all of our personal belongings on our own, and leave only the large furniture items for the moving company. They sent out two guys for our second move from another two bedroom, two bath apartment. We feel that three guys might have been better to accommodate the need to hold the doors, as well as assist with the handling of the larger furniture items, but we trusted their expertise. They were late for our most recent move by over an hour, and I had to call to inquire about their whereabouts. The move took about 3 hours, not including the drive to our new place. Overall, we were pleased with their customer service, efficiency, and friendliness. We would have appreciated better punctuality with both moves, as we had other service appointments scheduled around our moving appointment times on both occasions. We also have some chips and scratches on our furniture, which might have been prevented by more thorough preparation and handling of our furniture. We provided a decent tip for both moves despite the damages because we were just happy to not have to do the move on our own. I can't say enough about JFP and their team! I came to Yelp when my previously-scheduled movers in Baltimore fell through a week before my move. I was moving to Baltimore from another state and didn't know many people in the area, so made my selection based on Yelp reviews, quote, and my experience communicating with their team. JFP topped the charts in all categories and I'm so glad I picked them! Since this was a move from out of state I only hired a team (two movers) to help me unload my truck into a 1BR apartment. The process could not have been more positive. Alex was incredibly helpful in communicating with me leading up to the move, and when I hit traffic on my 6+ hour drive up to Baltimore, she worked with me to reschedule my crew for a later time. Matthew and Taylor, my movers, were incredibly friendly, energetic, and helpful. They were quick and capable but also took care with all of my boxes and furniture, and noted everything I had marked as fragile. We started unloading the truck close to 8pm, but their energy had me thinking it was much earlier in the day! My 12' truck (which was packed, including a fully packed cab) was unloaded, with boxes sorted and in their appropriate rooms, within an hour -- and while JFP has a two hour minimum when booking, it was worth every penny to have such a great team help me with my move and welcome me to Baltimore with such positive energy. Hopefully I won't be needing movers anytime soon, but if I do, I hope to work with JFP again! read more

I negotiated with JFP Express alongside another half dozen moving agencies in the area. They came in with a very competitive rate, offering a flat fee that was my "target number" without having to worry about hourly rates. The movers showed up at my storage unit a little late -- we booked for 10am and they called at 10:15 saying their last job ran late, and that they were en route with an estimated arrival time of 11:15. I wasn't thrilled, but upon arrival Earnest and his partner (I think Taylor?) were prompt, friendly, and professional. They made great conversation while keeping up a great pace of loading up the truck. They brought blankets to wrap furniture, strapped things in, and had the truck loaded in about a half hour. Unloading went similarly smoothly, with one slight hiccup. One piece of furniture was damaged during loading, my entertainment center. It's sturdy, but made of particle board, and when loading it into the truck there was some forcing that resulted in a shearing of the built-in screws/cams that I put in while assembling. It could have been cosmetically repaired, which they offered to do, but given the need for it to hold a large TV I asked for a reimbursement on the item. JFP service was fantastic in getting me a refund, and I made sure to tell them that Earnest and Taylor were fantastic with the other 99% of my belongings. I would absolutely recommend them again -- sometimes things get banged up in a move, and these guys made it right when the 1% went wrong. Cannot say enough good things about Jason and his crew! They said they'd bring 2 guys and a truck, but showed up with FIVE guys and TWO trucks. They were in, out, and on the way in no time flat and were extremely friendly, professional, and just all around fun guys. Did I mention this was their fourth job of the day and stayed full of energy and great attitudes - despite the elevator to our fourth floor apartment breaking a quarter of the way through the move (and one guy carrying my dresser down the stairs on his back!!) I have moved many times and had a variety of experiences (some fine, one that still gives me nightmares) but the experience of working with JFP Express was by far the best moving experience I've ever had. The reviews are true. I read A LOT of reviews before choosing JFP. Everything people are raving about was true for me. For instance: 1) Communication. Alex was incredibly responsive, from the initial estimate, to checking in on the day of, to following up. I had no fears about being ghosted or all my questions were anticipated. 2) Price. We moved a two bedroom apartment with a big library. The quotes we were getting we in the multiple thousands, which honestly feels very high. JFP came in much lower at a rate that felt fair to them and to us. 3) Staff. I can't say enough great things about Tyler and Antoine, our two primary movers. They worked tirelessly, wrapped every single thing in plastic and blankets, communicated so well, and had wonderful personalities and positive attitudes despite a long day. They made this move so easy. They were assisted by two other guys who stopped in to help and then moved on to another job. A great system! This move was so easy, so pleasant, and so well-executed. These movers charge by number of boxes you have, not by square feet which was never discussed when we booked the move. I am a teacher so I own lots of books. I packed the books in banker boxes so they wouldn't be too heavy for myself and the movers to lift. These movers didnt have to move any televisions, only one light bookshelf, one bed, one dinette, no appliances of any kind (not even a microwave)and a 3 seater couch. But despite the fact we barely had any furniture, on moving day they informed us that the number of boxes were too many and charged us an additional 150 dollars. None of our boxes were larger than medium size, but they told us next time to pack our books in appliance boxes and they wouldn't have charged us. They also refused to move lamps. Movers should charge by feet not number of boxes. Very deceptive pricing. read more

JFP Express moved me from an apartment to single family home on September 19th, 2020. Jason and his wife were very nice, but that's where the good experience ended. Out of the 5 employees that helped moved our furniture, only two actually did so with proper care. I have lost thousands of dollars in the form of damaged equipment. First, they moved us into our home at almost 1AM in the morning, in a quiet residential neighborhood. Their employees were very loud, and at one point yelling outside (I think one of them dropped something on the other). To their defense, they were nice enough to squeeze our move in last minute, but it was not supposed to go on this late. In either case, we give them a pass for this because again, we urged them to get it done that day and they were nice enough to do it. Here are examples that I hope illustrate the quality of their employees. They work hard, there is no doubt in that. Moving furniture is difficult, and I respect that. But what I don't respect is how reckless with our furniture they were. At one point I had to tell one of their employees that they were moving a 65" TV, to which they said "oh shit, I thought that was a table". The reason I mentioned this was because I saw them just drop it on a dolly to move it. Sadly, my $1200 TV is now ruined because of this. Naturally, I didn't immediately unpack every single thing in my house, so I ended up finding this out a few months after the move date. They put a grapefruit size hole in my wall going into my basement. I kindly asked for $150 off my bill to cover the repairs, to which they complied, but the damage just didn't end there. I have $2500 high end speakers which I personally wrapped, and asked for them to be especially careful with. Sadly, it looks as if they dropped one of them because there damage to one of them. Because they ended up moving a lot of items into my basement, I'm afraid that as I continue to slowly unpack I'll continue to find damaged items. I'm posting this review just to share with others that although the owners are wonderful people, it may be luck of the draw as to which employees they send on your job. Because of this, you might want to really consider using them if you have expensive furniture or equipment. For me, I was better off taking a few days to move myself and take the proper care in moving my valuable items, or finding a moving company that maintains strict standards in the quality of their employees. read more

Matt and Tyler came about 1.5 hours after we called and were as pleasant, efficient, and charming as we could ever have hoped. After calling multiple movers and receiving unrealistically high price quotes, one of my friends recommend JFP. They were quick to answer the phone and gave me flat rate pricing for my move. In the past I have had poor experiences with movers that charge per hour and taking their sweet time to move things, so this was a nice change. Please don't use this moving company. They moved my sister on January 31, 2019, I refered them to her. However, they damaged her dinning room table and broke her glass shelve in her china cabinet. If you're looking for a professional, trustworthy, and hardworking crew, look no further! The short story: They are some of the hardest working people I've been around. They staff was tremendously careful and respectful with our stuff the whole time. Everything was packed with tremendous care and efficiently to use as little space as possible in the truck. They marked all the boxes and cleaned up after themselves (even swept up in the garage and collected trash they didn't create!). I know people say, "we treat it like it's our own stuff", but these guys really, really demonstrated this. They gave me a great rate (we had them pack, load, and unload...don't try to get the lowest price around...you'll get what you pay for!) for the services they provided and was very competitive with other highly rated companies. I had a really great experience with them. The long story: I spent so much time researching different companies and reading reviews and actually made a huge mistake and picked another company. The other company (Pack and Load...never use them) did an awful job. Last minute, I reached out to JFP to follow up on their quote and they totally listened to me anxious gripping and came to the house to make sure their estimate was accurate and bring me peace of mind about the move. Their movers called ahead before they showed up and when they arrived it was all, "sir" and "ma'am". They were very positive, polite, hard working and I could tell immediately the difference in quality and professionalism. I had an 8mo old baby at the time with me the whole day and there were times when she was asleep and the guys would whisper and took their shoes off moving things to keep her from waking up! They managed to move a whole floor above me w/out me knowing until I came out of my bedroom after my baby woke up! Whenever they didn't know or something needed some extra attention, the crew would reach out and ask me about it to make sure everything was handled properly. They also offered good input whenever I seemed to have some question about what to take or any question about the moving process, but without being pushy about it. Unloading was a dream. They would not settle unless I was happy with where everything was placed. We had them pack, load and unload and the guys put together all the furniture with great expertise.
