I requested to have some items from my storage moved into a new space. I made plans for one date and time and needed to change it at the last minute and they made adjustment right then and there. There were two men on the job who handled my items with care and asked me questions about what was suppose to go the whole time. I had a great experience and the stress that it eliminated was well worth the money. The starting prices are reasonable and my only complaint would be that if there was at least another person it would have went by faster. I did end up paying for an additional hour, but it was WORTH it! I would recommend them and I would use them again. I was a repeat customer of Ally and have referred numerous people to them but no more. First of all at 3am after a 10 hour move they tried to extort me for an additional 1k above the original quote I received. This is after they left holes in the my rental and failure to move everything which left me in the position where I had to hire a second mover on the day I am due to turn my keys in. We used Ally Moving to move all of our stuff from a one bed apt in DC to a storage unit up the street. We did most of the packing ourselves so when they showed up right on time at 8am we were ready to go. They provided a three person crew with two guys moving the stuff down to my building's loading dock and the third person wrapping our larger furniture items. They worked so quickly and efficiently that we only ended up using the freight elevator for just over an hour even though I had it reserved for two hours! My building concierge appreciated that! They were equally as efficient when it came to cramming all our stuff into our storage unit. The whole experience took around two hours. Probably the least stressful move we've ever had. I have found management to be responsive and overall the company is very reliable. There was a hiccup and my most recent move took longer than I expected. We did a video walk through, signed documents online and was able to request additional people all electronically. I used Ally for my move from Maryland to DC. The crew arrived 20 minutes early and immediately got to work. They were able to disassemble furniture and pack up the truck quickly. They were very careful with all my items and very friendly. I would recommend Ally to anyone for moving services. My only gripe was $50 reservation fee. I have never heard of a reservation fee not being deducted from your final price. I can understand the fuel fee because gas is currently extremely expensive, but a $50 fee just to reserve your appointment and not put it toward your balance seems excessive. read more

Really appreciated the communication before and during the move. Side note: The one thing I wish PODS would have told me was that I needed to have some rope to tie off my stuff since my unit wasn't totally full. Thankfully, I was able to run to a nearby store to buy some while the guys were still loading up the POD. (But I'd recommend getting some rope to anyone else who may be moving using a POD.) Amazing team. I called them last minute 4 days before my move, and they communicated very clearly and efficiently with me to figure out details. Morning of, they sent a text message letting me know the ETA of the truck. They moved my furniture and boxes safely and protected all my furniture. Upon arriving to my new location, I was living on the 4th floor (8 flights of stairs) with no service elevator, and the team was flexible and moved all my things without any complaint and finished quickly. My furniture was also reassembled in a timely manner and they protected the carpet at the new place as well. When we were all finished, the new place was still very clean. The movers are friendly but there super slow the business is ran by kids I was suppose to have 3 guys I had 2 guys one girl and a kid that could barely lift a mattress they try to maximize your time so they can get paid for 8 hours which cost me $1400 and a bedroom set that I still have to pay somebody else to put up on top of the fact I only moved HALF OF THE HOUSE AND IT TOOK THE WHOLE 8 hours I mean right on the nose 8 hours‼they take 15 min breaks randomly to sign your signature and want to get paid for it ! When they were 20 minutes late, I sent a text asking if they were lost, or late .... And they called back and said that I had somehow been dropped off their schedule!! Yikes!!! But they made it right... pulled a crew and truck together ASAP and did the job that day. I just used Ally Moving yesterday and it was a great experience. It would be the third time using movers for my mom since she moved to Maryland 9 years ago. It was the best experience of all the moves (except for the tremendous amount of stuff she was bringing into my house. The crew, led by Carlos, was extremely professional and courteous. The wrapped every piece of glass (and she has numerous glass shelves and table tops) with care and all arrived safely and were placed back in their proper settings with care. Many pieces were even wiped down before replacing. Not only did the reassemble some of the larger pieces but essentially repaired a worn out attachment for an Ikea style piece. (After asking for permission to do so.) there were no extra charges for the wrapping, which they did to every piece of furniture so all arrived clean and intact. To pick movers I googled and found a helpful Yelp list. I spoke to four companies. Some quoted hourly rates and some mentioned flat rates. The process helped me figure out the best questions to ask. Ally quickly rose to the top. They answered questions well, gave me all I needed to know and had a website where I could provide the details of the move to ensure the quote and truck size would match the job. We used the flat rate option and saved money. They sent three guys who sprang into action once I explained what was going and what was staying. They called before they arrived, when they were leaving the pick up location and when they arrived at the delivery location. They were respectful and charming to my mom and Carlos made a special effort to thank her at the end of the job. This great crew made a stressful process a great positive experience. I highly recommend them. Be sure to use cash or a card. We had gotten a cashiers check (with the wrong company name on it) but paid with a personal check as is their preference.
