THEIVES, LIARS, CON ARTISTS. I used this company before and they were fine. But now they are just scammers and thieves. They stole a bag of Rx's and meds that I needed for my surgery. There were also personal items and important papers in that bag. They sent 2 guys but only one of them worked. The other one, Authur, followed me around telling me about his dating life and asking me personal questions. I asked him, don't you have something you could be moving, he said no, this is part of the plan. Part of the plan to rip me off and charge double. On top of not working and dragging the job out, they also charged me an extra hour at the end. They spent that time on their cell phones while I moved stuff, and then they charged me for that whole hour saying they only charge for whole hours. BIGGEST RIP OFF OF MY LIFE. I requested a quote through Yelp and MAT came through with a quick response and quote. I needed some large and heavy pieces of furniture moved up/down steps of my townhome. These pieces are usually difficult for movers because of my narrow steps, but MAT got the job done without any damages to my wall and within the scheduled time frame. They also are really fast with disassembling furniture. In fact, I told the movers that it wasn't necessary lol but they did what needed to be done to make it work for them. I would totally recommend this service to anyone who wants to have stress free moving! Michael has not said no to anything to be moved, even if it wasn't packed. They were very efficient, friendly, patient and polite. Their pricing was very nominal compared to what other movers were charging. We lived on 4th floor with no elevator, and I did not hear any complaint from them, and they always had a smile on their face. We hired 2 guys, but feel like we got more like 1.5. One guy moved the majority of our stuff while the other only helped with heavier items that needed two ppl. They started the timer before they parked the truck, and arrived early, which is normally a good thing, but they were 30 min early before the window, and didn't call ahead to say that they were close...instead called while out front. We had 2 guys move the same stuff before and they were finished in 35 min. These two guys took 1 hour for the same items. I think the one guy who did the least amount of work decided that they needed more money for the job, so he intentionally barely helped. Overall, we charged for 2 hours, and $5 for 3 small strips of tape that they didn't let me keep. They offer insurance in case they break anything, but don't let you keep the receipt they want you to sign. They are a little sketch...which I can deal with, but their prices don't match their sketchiness. I am sure there are other moving companies that are more transparent with pricing, effort, and timing that will ultimately cost you less money. I say look elsewhere unless you are in a pinch for last minute help for $500 to move a 1bedroom. read more

I chose MAT movers based on their quote I received through Yelp. I needed movers in a short amount of time and they had the best reviews and overall price. The pros would be the movers showed up on time, they explained the pricing up front, and they were very friendly. The cons: They didn't have all of the equipment they needed to properly pack my things for a long distance move and to make the move more efficient. They couldn't drive the cart they brought which took up time bc you're paying them by the hour. I had to borrow a better cart from my complex to speed things up. I mentioned in my email that they would be packing a PODS for my long distance move. I even called the day before to ensure they had the proper materials to pack my TVs bc I was at Uhaul and could've purchased them then. I was told they did. They showed up with NOTHING to pack my TVs with! Any plastic wrapping, tape, or cords they used ALL cost extra and per item that they wrapped). They charged 6% extra to pay with a credit card. For my simple 1 bedroom apartment the total came to nearly $1000. And this is with me packing my entire apartment except for the bedroom set and TVs. There was no living room furniture for them to move nor was there a TV stand. It took them over 8 hours and should give you an idea of their efficiency. read more

My only complaint is that they showed up with a truck that was not large enough for our moved, despite me sending over inventory of all the items, and had to make a 2nd trip causing the cost to be higher. I was told they were not available today which is reasonable being it was last minute. Be aware when using Yelp to send messages to expedite requests to multiple businesses. I can't compliment this company enough. I recieved several quotes before selecting MAT Movers. My friend told me about them after he used them several times. I still got quotes from several other companies. MAT Movers quote was based on the hour and they provided a rough estimate sheet. I was so worried they would work extra slow because they charge hourly. Let me tell you these guys are amazing. I felt like they were sprinting the whole time without taking a break. They were super punctual the first day but I had an early apt. The next day for delivery I had a late time and they got stuck on previous jobs. They showed up super late. I was a little irritated but they more then made up for it in their non stop energy even after working a long day. They were super careful with everything. I was worried about my walls and my 72" tv. Not a single problem. Also at the end of the long night after my house was unpacked i offered them to stop working and have a beer. They insisted they had 15 minutes left on the hour and assembled furniture instead. Like seriously. I'm a hard worker but I'd take the beer. Lol. The bill came and I saw before hand they screw you with a 6% credit card fee (I have bullsh|t CC capabilities and I can do 3.5% so not sure 6%) so I had all cash. They also tacked on a bit of Tape usage fees. It wasnt crazy but it was a little unexpected. The price at the end of the move was still cheaper than anyone else by 25%. A solid 25%. And thats why I don't worry about Tape fees. I just wish they were a little but more transparent about it. I recommend MAT movers to everyone I know. This isnt some crap yelp review. You need to just prepare for the gotchas such as tape fees, credit card fees, and end-of day scheduling. If you know that, this company is amazing! read more
