This was my first time using a moving service and before hiring, I created a spreadsheet with six different moving services (commercial and local). Your Moving Men came in second place for lowest price, but first place overall. I was already super impressed with how everything is written and right up front - all I did was confirm it's all true with the phone representative, Alex. No extra fees (I'm serious). Other movers don't usually include disassembly and assembly or if they do, it's extra. Materials were all included (wardrobe boxes, blankets, tape etc.) and fragile pieces like glass, TV, pictures are all padded by the team. They are also the only moving service on my spreadsheet that did an in-home estimate after Alex had already provided an estimate based on our conversation and pictures. IN-HOME ESTIMATE. Viktor (supervisor) came to do the in-home estimate and was very professional and had a neat appearance, complete with a Your Moving Men shirt. He talked me through how all my fragile pieces would be taken care of and I felt completely at ease. Furniture I expected would need taking apart, he assured me wouldn't need to be. My original estimate was for 3-4 hours with 2 men. Viktor recommended 3 men for 3-4 hours, which would be cheaper than 2 men for 5-6 hours. DAY OF. I received email and text confirmations from Alex throughout the process (I booked one month in advance). The day of, my contact was Vlad. His team of movers were punctual, arriving exactly at 11am. The main team included Vlad and Miro, with support from Slava, and a surprise (no-cost) extra help, Yurii. The business is Ukrainian-owned and operated and the team communicates with each other that way. Communication in English was not a barrier for me, however. When Vlad called the day of, I hadn't finished packing, but by the time I finished up, the team was done and ready to go. For my 750 sqft, 1BDR , it took them one hour. The advantage of a local mover is that they know most of the buildings in the area. That's a huge plus! I was so impressed with how knowledgeable they were about accessible roads for trucks and height restrictions at the loading dock, etc. When it came time to unload, it took 1.5 hours and they put everything exactly where I wanted it to go. They unpacked all the fragile items and did a great job cleaning up. Everything happened so fast, I kept saying "you're so fast" and at one point, Vlad asked, "is that a good thing?" Well, obviously! We hired Your Moving Men for our townhouse to single family home move. They were responsive through email and phone during our planning phase and offered competitive rates and military discount. Once we shopped around for a bit and saw the other options, it was clear that Your Moving Men was the clear choice. Set up and scheduling was straight forward, and they sent multiple reminders and double checked all the details regarding the move so it made me feel at ease. On the day of moving day, 4 men arrived to include a team lead. We took a tour of the town house, I pointed out any areas/items of emphasis, and off we went. Boxes first, then all the furniture. They took apart desks, wrapped every piece, taped the screws to the back of the desk, then wrapped everything together with padded "blankets." They took great care of all items and there was not one scratch on any of the items when we arrived at the new house. Avoid this company at all costs! It took them nearly 8 hours to move a 2-bedroom apartment from one building to another, which was just a short walk away. They took a break only an hour and a half into the job, and when I asked when they had returned, they "were not sure." I found them casually hanging out downstairs, one person on their phone and the other smoking inside the truck. Last year, I moved the same amount of furniture in 5 hours via different moving company, but these movers intentionally dragged out the process to rack up extra hours. They tried to blame the elevator for the delay, even though we had no issues with it during our previous move within the same apartment complex. We hired them to do the job, but ended up having to assist them and do their work for them just to speed up the process. Our initial communication was promising, and we chose them based on their positive reviews, but it turned out to be a huge mistake. This hands down the best moving company that I've worked with in over 20 yrs, and I've moved over 11 times in the past decade alone. First and foremost they are very responsive. Whether it's a simple question, or just a follow up on logistics there is always a human who picks up the call. 2nd - they packed a 2000 sq ft home and loaded it (including garage and kid toys) in 5 hours and drove 4 hours to our new home. Not a single item scratched or damaged. They unloaded quickly and reassembled everything to perfection. These guys are efficient and proficient at what they do. Recommend without hesitation! I reached out to multiple companies for a move in late April, Victor called me the same night and I sent him a video of all items packed to be moved. He was professional the entire time up to my move (couple weeks). My new building needed a COI and he got this to me very promptly. He confirmed the move the day before and copied the guys scheduled to come. They called me when they were about 20 min away to let me know and helped me move into a studio apt about 20 minutes away on a drizzling Saturday morning. Two guys arrived on time with a truck. They came out from Rockville to Cockeysville and no extra travel fee was charged! Everything was packed and ready to go, and they packed up and moved everything in about an hour and a half. Prices were very reasonable and I really appreciated the flat fee. Many moving services were quoting me $500+ what this company charged and tried everything to upcharge anything and everything. These guys were great, great attitudes, professional, friendly, and extremely helpful. They collected payment requested without any extra charge when the move was complete. The worst possible moving company so far. I have used many moving companies over the last 20 yrs and this one was the worst experience among all. We hired this company and the assessment by the company representative was ~3 hrs. I provided a detailed description of our furnitures and boxes, the number of floors in our house,... and the company representative assured me it won't pass beyond 5 hrs. We put everything in boxes, de-assembled the beds, wardrobe, table,... and moved most of them to the main floor, so they did not need to do those extra works. It went up to ~7 hrs because of their slowness, and they broke a large number of our furnitures, because they did not carry them with care, no wrap around wooden furnitures,... There is no single furniture that is not damaged or scratched. They also damaged the building (doors, drywalls,...). I have done similar things before with other moving companies, none of them did such a poor, slow service, very disappointing. At the end of service, the lead mover assured me he is going to follow up with their management to compensate the damages (he admitted they were not professional). However, now and after 1 months, i tried to call/text them and did not receive a call back. This is fraud. NEVER HIRE THEM OF YOU WILL PAY A LOT MORE TO FIX THE DAMAGES THEY MADE read more
