George's has been around for some time now, and I'm sad I never tried them sooner. We rode our bikes and decided to stop for a bite. Spectacular find. We had their Greek Salad, and a Greek platter with Kabobs, and their Lemon Orzo Soup. We even got a Greek bottle of white wine and sat outside enjoying our meal. Everything was super fresh, clean and tasted homemade. George came out and checked on us... what an incredibly sweet guy. He treated us with a sample of his Baklava. It was divine. Not too sweet, or heavy- but just enough to finish a meal. We loved everything so much, we did carry out a week later. We had to have another salad, and some more of the soup. Simple things, but done so well. We split a Gyro and some Baklava. All of it was great. George told us to try the salmon, so we will be back in soon to dine in. I've been for lunch, dinner and we've hired them to cater lunch for a meeting at my office and they serve delicious and high quality food every time. The menu is Greco-American but not just gyros and fries. The salads are excellent- those with greens are ample and fresh and the pasta salad is incredible. The pasta salad is penne with a tangy dressing, with spring peas, feta and sun dried tomatoes. That combo really works- the peas are sweet to offset the bite of the tangy dressing and salty feta. A restaurant that pulls together a pasta salad with that much care for flavor, you know they do their grilled fare, pitas, sandwiches and pizzas right. The pita is overflowing with chicken, gyro meat, steak- your choice- tomatoes and zesty red onions and the pita itself is so good, you'll want an extra one to dip into the house made tzatziki sauce. Prices are not cheap, not gonna lie, but you do get what you pay for- great food, ample portions, in a clean, modern establishment staffed by a local family. The family loves Greek food and thought we'd try a new place. This place looked good and the reviews were solid. You walk up and order and then the food is taken to your table. The man at the register wasn't that polite and didn't offer any suggestions when we told them we haven't been before. The food cane promptly. Considering the amount ($40 for 2 dishes), your not given much. The lamb was decent yet the sales had more lettuce than anything else. I went to George's Kitchen with my best friend as we wanted to try it before we catered our birthday party. The man at the register was nice and helpful. The inside is also extremely clean and moderately quiet. Our food was amazing - we both got the gyro sandwich with the salad on the side. Delicious and feels like family. My family is from Crete (Greece) and I am born and raised in Detroit Michigan (Greektown) - I do not eat Greek since I have moved. Was craving a tradition Gyro and authentic Avgolemono (Greek Lemon Chicken Soup). Georges' came HIGHLY recommended and I now know why. The food was outstanding - Saganaki (flaming cheese appetizer), gyro with lemon chicken soup, greek salad, and gifted a courtesy baklava! Before leaving, we learned their Gelato was imported from Italy - can you blame me? Mint & Espresso for him; Mint & Cookies and Creme for me. I stumbled onto George's Kitchen today while in the area. I walked in and saw familiar faces from one of my favorite places in downtown...Crazy Jim's. The familiar faces were the original owners. I was ecstatic, since their menu and five-star flavor cannot be topped by any other Greek restaurant that I've eaten at. This family operated restaurant has class and a great Malbec. Not only did I eat lunch here today...I even came back for dinner. I'm happy to see that the Deligiannis family is only 12min from my home with George's Kitchen. This is a hidden neighborhood gem! The food, with many amazing Greek options, is extremely flavorful. I think the Restaurant's name may be misleading... We had a Gyro platter with an absolutely delicious Greek salad as a starter. Also: the waiter brought us each a complimentary piece of baklava at the end of our meal. So good!! I have such mixed feelings about this place. They seriously have the best gyros I have ever had in my life. However, their food is quite expensive. My biggest issue is their overall customer service. There are never any smiles, suggestions, friendly chit chat or anything. They just are not a real friendly bunch. Being a family run business, I sometimes get the feeling that the younger ones would rather be pursuing a different line of work. If they could improve this it would make a huge difference in the whole experience of eating there and maybe I wouldn't mind the higher price. RUN DONT WALK.....RUDE as all HELL. I go to pick up my order and the girl at the front was so rude to the elderly gentleman in front of me. I was trying to be nice and tell her to take a deep breath it's ok and she turned evil. She continued to say that she was in the hospital for an anxiety disorder and it is very busy. I told her to ask for help and again she cannot take constructive criticism. A young disrespectful male boy comes by and I ask if he is the manager, I'm not sure if he New he was or not. As I am trying to talk to him the girl comes over and starts to argue with me. The manager actually walks away and allows her to argue. After she apologized for being so rude, he walks by and asked if I needed something. I AM SO PISSED AT THE SITUATION. I asked for his manager and he said it was his family's business. I was the paying customer and never again. We have been coming here for years and this is how we are treated. read more

I could not believe this was happening. I have been ordering from George's Kitchen 1-2 times a week for at least 6 months and it never gets old. It's always consistent, fresh, and delicious. The Greek salad is amazing and I even buy their bottles of dressing to use on my salads at home. The best part is the service is just as good as the food! I ordered the mega pita gyro meal with spanikopita. The business called me and informed me they were one short on the order of spanikopita. They offered dolmades in place of the missing piece of spanikopita. I was impressed. However, that is where my impression changed for the worse. Upon arriving at home, the fries that come with the order numbered a total of 7 french fries. Yes. A total of 7 french fries. If you're going to call me and inform me of a missing spanikopita and offer an alternative as good customer service dictates, then unwhelm me with a whopping 7 french fries, I will probably not choose your business for my next meal. I love Greek food and this place hit the spot. It's in a shopping center that is hidden. But they have great food especially pizza and the hummus. I got the gyro pita and my husband got a chicken pizza. For an appetizer we split the hummus which was super yummy! The only thing I would say that needs work is the pasta salad because for my taste, it had too much sun dried tomatoes and the pasta needed to be cooked just a bit more. Other than that, if we are ever in the area, we will be sure to stop. My husband and I are all about supporting local restaurants and this one hit the spot! Also a little tip, you can bring doggies on the patio and they will even give you a water bowl for them. In the heat of Arizona, this is a must!
