DON'T VISIT THIS PLACE AN HOUR BEFORE CLOSING TIME, unless you want to get yelled at. I've been to many Five Guys restaurants and have always had great and enthusiastic service. Tonight, a little after 9 pm (the cashier said they close at 10 pm) was the first time in about a year the I visited the Five Guys on Winchester/Margarita Rd in Temecula. The cashier was great and had a big smile on her face, even though it was late and she had a long shift on New Year's Day. I placed my order and sat at the table eating some of the complimentary peanuts. I got up to throw the shells away and on my way back to my table, the fry cook, who was still cooking my order, yelled at me in a rude tone that I couldn't take the peanuts outside the store, while waving his had back and forth across his chest. I told him I wasn't and if it was ok that I eat the peanuts while I was waiting for my order. He said yeah and turned back to cooking my hamburger and fries. When he called my order, I was already almost done with all the peanuts in my dish. After I picked up my order he just turned around and started cleaning the grill. I guess he planned on leaving early that night. Does management know this? And the two milkshakes I got were thin and watery, more milk than milkshake but they wouldn't make new ones because they were getting ready to close. HORRIBLE SERVICE! read more

I was wasn't expecting much from this place since it is often compared to its west coast competitor; Inn n Out. I am definitely not a fan of Inn n Out, especially now after trying Five Guys Burgers. The burgers are not as expensive as people often say, two people can eat here for under $15 and that is with a satisfied stomach. The burgers are big and juicy made with quality beef. The really great thing about the burgers is that they can be made any way you want it at no extra charge, unless you order a bacon or double cheeseburger. The best way to get the burger is with: tomatoes, onions, pickles, jalapenos, mushrooms and of course bacon. This burger is going to fill the average adult and it cost under $6. The cajun fries are really good as the seasoning sets them apart from regular french fries and a small order is perfect for two people to share. The people at the counter are also friendly and helpful to anybody new to the restaurant. Another great thing is that you can enjoy peanuts while you wait for the food which isn't long at all. I do NOT understand why anyone thinks this place is good. We order a hamburger, hotdog, little and regular fries, 1 regular soda and the bill was over 20.00. The small hotdog was cut down the middle to fit the bun. The hamburger patties were very small and not good quality. The fries were greasy on the outside and not even cooked in the middle. Five guys is the same no matter where you go so I guess that's a good thing. There burgers are the most customizable than any other in the are and fries are excellent. They cost a bit more than most though but I don't mind the extra couple of dollars its worth for what it is a fast food burger place. It's better than the older burger chains McDonald's, burger king etc.. ., habit and burger lounge. Cleanliness is sub par though. read more

Its all with what you grow up with... And I grew up in the east coast with Five Guys as my regular burger joint. So i may be biased (and yes i still love a doubledouble from INO) but this is my favorite burger place hands down. A bit pricier but the amount of delicious fries they give you more than makes up for it. The downside for those with Peanut allergies beware! Everything is cooked in peanut oil and theres a giant box of shelled peanuts complimentary so it can get messy. read more

So me and my friend decided to come here with another co-worker..... no not during lunch break, cuz this place is easily 1 hour away from where we work, but on our Friday off, they decided to meet me in Moreno Valley so we could take a trip down to five guys. After hearing them complain about the drive, BTW they were not doing the driving I was.... but after they complained because neither of them never been to temecula, I was definitly ready for this burger!!! We got their, I ordered the regular burger with grilled onions, bacon and cheese, that's it, along with the cajun fries. The fries were thick cut, which I usually don't like, but these were sooo good and crisp on the outside, yet fluffy inside. Stick with the small order, cause that alone is enuff to feed a small army. Now the burger...OMG!!! So freaking good, nothing spectacular or fancy, just a real good burger!!! The meat is unbelievable!!!! So rich and naturally flavorful, no need to add any seasoning to the meat, the meat was just so freaking fresh and good, I don't know where they get it from, but my goodness, the tast of the meat is unexplainable...... yes I slaughtered that burger and loved every minute of it!!! Temecula is about 30 minutes away from me....so I definitley will make a special trip back out there again for one of these. Every burger from here on out has been compared to five guys....great job! Including all of these extra toppings to your burger does nothing to aid the fact that the burger patty itself lacks any flavor. It needs a formal introduction to salt and pepper, It would do this burger wonders. With that said, the fries are tasty, although being fried in peanut oil doesn't add anything special. I would come here for their soda fountain alone as they have a vast selection of soda unlike any I have ever seen. Raspberry pepsi, yes please. Maybe I have a bias to in-n-out. I have to say that I absolutely love this place! When going though, the only thing I can say is be prepared to be surrounded by people who love it equally as much. The place was definitely not designed to take on such a customer payload, but in the end, it can never be a bad thing to have too many customers right? Don't compare the place to In-n-out. If you even hint an In-n-out related comment to an employee, good or bad, it will be hushed. After talking with a manager, I gather that Five Guys was a restaurant that was started by a family on the east coast in Virginia, veryyyy far from the beginning location of In-n-Out. When asked to comment on similarities, all that they could say was " In-n-Out has a good thing going for them, their business plan is working, and I salute them for it. Our business plan seems to work alright as well. If somebody doesn't like it, then I will personally welcome them to try another restaurant, and thank them for at least giving us a try. We don't plan on changing anything any time soon." Everything Five Guys serves is fresh and prepped that morning. All of their produce is from local growers, and there isn't a single freezer in the building. I observe a lot of people asking for ranch, thousand island, "secret sauce", and even shakes. I asked an employee about these absences, and they said, "The first five guys store didn't carry any of these things, and if we are going to carry the same name and business plan that got them this far, then why change it up?" A very valid point! When I asked about the shakes they said, "Well first of all, we aren't aloud to have any freezers here. Also, here at five guys we strive to be the best at what we do. If we did shakes, we would have to be the best, and other business are doing the "shake" just fine, better than we feel we could ever do. So we cordially leave that challenge to for them." There are no meals here either. Everything is a-la-cart. It may seem pricey, but if you plan on getting a bacon burger, fries, and a drink for you and your friend, be prepared for several pounds of food. It looks like Five Guys sits in a very comfortable pocket. Business has only grown in the past two months it has been open. There's no hype here. It just so happens that many people around town just so happen to like it. If you don't like it, all they will say to you is thank you for at least giving them a try. Why let it get to you? I can say that I will definitely be back for years to come. Because I know the same menu will be hanging there in five years time. read more

We discovered and frequented Five Guys when we lived in Colorado. We thought it was nice to find one of our favorite burger places when we moved to Temecula. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience on our first trip. The burgers were overly greasy, toppings falling all over the place, and just "off" in general.
