We have been here a couple times and enjoyed it, so when my wife suggested we go her with my mother I agreed. Wow, what a mistake. It was a Monday and we and one other family were the only customers in the dining area. The waitress was simply horrible. Her attitude stunk, she literally called to us from around the corner at the bar, brought us the wrong orders and when the bill came we paid it and still gave a reasonable tip. Then she came back with a second check advising she had forgotten to bill us for a coffee and dessert. Are you Kidding! Worst service I have had in years. This restaurant is under new management and has a great new menu. Stopped by for lunch today. the Vegetable risotto with shrimp was amazing. It was prepared with zucchini, squash with a few large shrimp on top. We also had chicken wrap with fries. Both very good. We visited for dinner. Parking on the street in front is tight but go one block away and lots of parking. Just pay attention to the towing signs. There's a bar area inside a patio outside and a normal dining room. Xavier was our waiter and recommended great food. We have pork nachos for appetizer which was a huge portion in a skillet. They were very tasty. Three of us had burgers and one had a chicken special dish. Everything was great and kid friendly. Xavier was probably the best waiter we have had in a long time. This restaurant is so cute and definitely lived up to the name Kinda Kozy! The food is amazing and I will say they have the best penne alla vodka and nachos I have ever had! Also they have TRIVIA NIGHT! who doesn't like trivia nights! My only negative towards this place is that never being there before walking in was a little confusing especially since the door opens up to a bar, but you walk all the way to the back wall and then right and there's the restaurant section! ALSO YOU CAN ORDER FROM HERE FOR PICK UP! It's moderately priced so it's not bad I definitely suggest trying it out! read more

We were looking for a decent place to eat after church one Sunday and of course Cracker Barrel was an hour long wait. So my family Went just down the road and found this cute place. it was so clean and the server was incredibly kind. We were seated right away and got our drinks quickly while looking over a great menu of reasonably priced traditional American food. our kids are picky eaters, but that didn't bother our server at all! He was happy to put together any meal we wanted and had great suggestions for us. The kiddos ate every bite! The French fries were perfect, my burger (the Main Street) was juicy and perfectly portioned, and my wife loved her Buffalo wings. To top it off, my wife and daughter happily reported the restroom was "immaculate". All in all, I have nothing bad to say about this wonderful little restaurant. read more

So we went here and there's like 16 of us which is about half of the capacity of this restaurant. The owner informed all of us that we're all not gonna be eating at the same time because her kitchen is small and it's totally okay. The wait is all worth it because our orders are freshly made out of the kitchen and that's what I like about this place. We were staying in a nearby hotel, saw the reviews here and decided to try this place out. It started out well, the employees were very nice and took a party of ten 35 minutes before closing so we were very grateful. It definitely has more of a bar feel than a "cozy" home which is what the name led us to believe it would feel like but we didn't mind that. Once we sat down we noticed there are quite a few gnats and flies flying around inside, so much so that we had to ask for paper napkins to cover our drinks. Once the food came out we were happy, everything was very good...that is until I lifted the left side of my potpie crust and saw a mosquito was baked right into it!!!!! Yes a MOSQUITO! I quickly let the waitress Debbie know and without even looking she denied there was a mosquito and said it's just a "seasoning she (the cook) uses". I let her know that I was positive it was a mosquito as I could see legs and wings and there was nothing else in the pie that looked remotely close to it which there would be if it truly was seasoning. She hurried over and spooned out the mosquito to "get a better look", (really probably to do away with the evidence) leaving the remainder of the potpie in front of me. After confirming it was in fact a mosquito, she let me know she took it off the bill and asked me 4 times if I wanted anything else pressuring me and reassuring me that the cook is ready to make me anything at all that I wanted off the menu. After confirming that the mosquito only got into that one batch I finally gave in and asked her to bring me a potpie to go. They did not make it to go then had to take the dish back and use a spatula to put it in a to-go container. Once we got the bill I immediately noticed that the potpie was still on the bill. When I brought it to Debbie's attention, she said it was because I ordered a new one! I told her that after baking a mosquito into my potpie, causing me not to be able to enjoy eating dinner with my friends, telling me she was taking it off the bill and pressuring me to order something else that it shouldn't be on the bill. All she did was apologize but did not take it off. Then went on to explain that they always leave the door open to contribute to the cozy feeling so they always have bugs flying around, as if that's supposed to make it okay! All you have to do is keep the door closed but you choose to keep it opened knowing that means bugs will be everywhere?! JUST GROSS. I really hate to write bad reviews but this is poor customer service and unsanitary so I had to say something. I don't care how good your food is or how many awards you say you've won, there is absolutely NO EXCUSE for insects in people's food and not comping the bill when you said you would. I would've never ordered anything else if she hadn't insisted and flat out told me she was going to comp the bill. This was NO misunderstanding, just a flat out lie to keep the full bill/tip amount. I definitely won't be coming back and will warn all of my friends who live in the area and the ones who frequently visit against coming here too. read more

My husband and I dined here tonight. It was perfect. A cute little rustic setting. The staff was incredibly nice and welcoming. The food was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. We tried the pretzel bites, french onion soup, skinny chicken wrap and a bacon cheeseburger with BBQ sauce. The menu has a lot to offer (new one released today), nothing like it in the Fishkill area and I am sure there is more to come as they continue to grow. We will definitely be back!! read more

My boyfriend & sat in a parking lot (we're not from the area & were staying at an Air b&b) looking for a place for dinner. So glad we ended up here! it's a perfect place for a romantic little date night. Tuesday night is "ladies night" so there are extra starter/dinner/drink specials for me. We got the nachos with pulled pork (to die for)- he had a house made beef pot pie which was perfectly seasoned & had really delicious puff pastry on top instead of pie dough, I had the grilled cheese- excellent cheddar with apples, carmelized onions & a little touch of cinnamon (plenty of butter), it was so well seasoned.. hit every taste bud - great mix of textures. I had a few glasses of the house Chardonnay for that evening - desert we split a chocolate peanutbutter pie & if I had known how good that was going to be I would have skipped the appetizer and had my own... OMG. Top that with great service a very cosy.. setting... We ended up having a terrific date instead of "just getting something to eat". read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Fishkill! It's simple American food but so amazingly good. My favorite is their speciality grilled cheese sandwiches, the Sacramento and hopewell are my favorites. My husband loves the fireman burger. It's in the former location of Cibo's, right across the street from Tomato Café. Kinda Kozy is run by the most energetic woman I've ever seen! She kept checking back with myself and other customers. I looked at the menu for other dishes. Can't wait to come back with friends and family, can't wait to check out the bar! I love it.
