The service was very friendly and quick as well, despite being one only serving 10 people by themselves. For a pub it was very bright and beautiful on the inside. The filet mignon sandwich was delicious, the steak was perfect , juicy and well bathed in sweet savory bourbon sauce, the blue cheese I was mixed on since it made bourbon sauce have funk to it, but worked, the bacon was great, still chewy and not crispy dry crumble. The toasted bread fell apart before the sauce. The truffle fries, I dogged them, usually places over season them and bury them in Parmesan cheese and seasoning, these were lightly seasoned with truffle oil and had a dusting of Parmesan cheese, plus they crispy as well. It's not a huge place but enough room for a good crowd. It's a typical pub with the long bar and 6 big screens. The bartender is also the waitress so she's a little busy. Very nice and polite. I asked how she felt about one of the sandwiches and her face, above her words, stated she really likes it. The portions are a good size and it all came out quickly. The salad dressing was very good. My daughter just got a job up the road so this will become a regular place for us. Very good!!! read more

I have been several times as Farley Mac's and Farleys. The food is good. I have not had anything I did not like. The chili is really really good. Most of the apps are table shares. The bangers and mash are one of my favorites. The private label beers are quite tasty and a good deal during happy hour. The places is spacious with a good distance between tables and a small bar. It's hard to 'bar-hop' in this post COVID world. Everywhere you go in NY, we are required to order food with drinks. My husband and I stopped here hoping to share an appetizer so we can get some drinks by the bar, but the bartender told us that we HAVE to order at least 2 appetizers in order to get drinks. We were a bit taken back at that since other restaurants don't have that requirement. Fine, restaurants are struggling so understandably we complied. While the food was still very good (definitely above average bar food), it would be nice if they get more new rotations for beer selection (they have Guinness, Stella, Goose Island IPA, Brooklyn lager, Sam Adams, New Belgium...more microbrew or Belgium beers welcome); they definitely need to clean their beer tap lines... Some of the beers we had tasted skunky. This is one of our go-to places in town, so it would be great if they can make some adjustments for improvement. read more

I went back for a second time to try their recommendation - prime rib steak on Friday and was disappointed with the quality of the meal. The steak was thick, as said it would be, but was fatty and grisly. I told the waitress about the food and she told the manager who did nothing but, indirectly asked if I wanted to keep it. I said I would take home for the dog (which I did) and paid the $22 + bill - without a tip! I hope the manager compensates the waitress from the total $53 bill. read more

This place is beautiful, newly redone and opened. The bar is long but there isn't too much seating - a couple 4 tops and maybe eight 2 tops. Something tells me they aren't in it for the food, though. Lots of locals at the bar on a Thursday night. The food was okay but nothing to write home about. The garlic wings had a nice crisp to them but no sauce. The burger came on a hard roll (yuck) and was pretty decent. I had coleslaw instead of fries and cannot recommend it, it was thick and gloppy. The flatbread looked bland but I did not taste it, my son said it was good. Daughter had the avocado chicken panini turned wrap (no panini press for dinner, lame) and said it was good as well. The waitress was very nice. She noticed I did not like the slaw as she cleared our plates and offered me another side. The biggest problem in my opinion was the noise level. The place was maybe half full and we really had to raise our voices to talk to each other. There are no soft surfaces in the place to absorb noise, and with music and several TVs plus the bar noise, it was a pleasure to get outside to some quiet afterward. Update: second attempt was a fail. Wings were undercooked, undersauced (medium) and in the case of the dry rub order, entirely inedible. Thankfully we had ordered them to go and were home where we could wash off the half pound or so of offending spices. I won't be back. read more

I had a deeply disturbing and racially charged experience at Nooches. I was told by the bartender that despite the fact that I was 39, I looked 20. Then I provided a legal state drivers license, then was told it wasn't good enough, asked for a second form of id, despite the fact the ID was valid with watermarks. My current government issued driver's license is accepted by TSA at the airport but apparently it's not good enough for Nooches. The vibe was hostile and judgmental. I provided a company credit card and could prove website evidence of when I graduated college and grad school, but that wasn't enough. The outside of Nooch's was inviting and fit the surroundings of the quaint town of Millbrook. Inside it was very standard "bar of America" look. I was hoping for a more 1920's vibe that fit the outside. However I was there for food. I shared the 1/2 Rack of Ribs along with the Nacho platter with tortilla chips and chili. Both were very delicious. The Nacho platter had a light cheese sauce and the chili had a lot of ground beef in it, which made me happy becauseso many restaurants skimp on the meat, and some even leave it out of their chili altogether. The ribs were fantastic, I could pull the bones off nice and easy and the BBQ sauce I believe had a marmalade base. It was such a nice change up from the standard dark brown BBQ sauce almost everyone uses. If I lived closer I would frequent Nooch's Pub & Grill regularly. Our server was very polite and courteous. 5/6/2016 I went to Nooch's shortly after their opening. Standard pub fare. I was charged for soda refills, something I detest! Why do restaurants do that? It's soda water and flavoring. Post it somewhere and I'll have one and not reorder. On to the food, I had a "cheese steak" which was just "ok". Th onions were cold and the cheese was hardly there. The steak itself, was properly cooked. My Son had a cheeseburger which he liked. I also had a pint of cider when we first arrived, which I believe was bottled and not on tap. The bar is lovely and they did a very nice remodel, much better appearance than Coach's (The former establishment) I will give Nooch's another try when I get a chance, hopefully my experience was chalked up to being a new restaurant and going through "growing pains". **UPDATE** (3/16/2017) I bumped Nooch's up by one star to a four star rating. I was recently at Nooch's on a cold winter day at the DMV and had a very pleasant lunch. I had a very nice steak that was perfectly cooked. This time I had a nice local beer on tap. The Bartender / Waitress was extremely pleasant (She is also a Dispatcher at a Local PD, I don't recall if I caught her name. Sorry!) and attentive. We were passing through millbrook on our way to Wethersfield gardens. From the outside it looked like a run of the mill sports bar but I felt like a burger. Our first impression was the restaurant was spotlessly clean. The menu is standard fare. I had the mushroom burger and tatertots with cole slaw. My sister had the Ruben. We both had an IPA. Our experience was 1) the waitress/bartender was incredibly lovely and attentive 2) the food was standard fare but done very well 3) and this is where we're snobs... everything tasted very fresh... the fryer oil, bread, garnish's etc. We were a bit blown away.
