I normally would give this place four stars, but it deserves a little push, so 5. The atmosphere was great, good service, and excellent food and beer. We did a couple of flights and every beer tasted good. They have a good variety of beers. We ordered apps and the special pizza. The deviled eggs were good. We tried the house made pierogis. They were fantastic, as good as homemade by my Polish brother-in-law. The special pizza was white with chicken and artichoke. It was awesome. Simple, but well-made with plenty of ricotta and just the right amount of spice. We will definitely be back!!
So we're back at the Mill House...a family favorite! This time we came with two other couples and had a great dinner. The bang bang cauliflower is delicious and the hibiscus cider is one of our favorites. Four out of the six ordered the gnocchi with short ribs....i love it. Creamy goodness with a hint of truffles. The short ribs were shredded, I wished it was chunks instead but still good. Mill House is great. We were seated on the third floor and our waiter was fantastic!

We stopped by Mill House Brewing Company for lunch after watching The Nutcracker at the Bardavon Theater, and it was the perfect way to end our afternoon. My daughter and I shared the Margherita pizza and the Garganelli Pasta with Short Rib Ragù, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The pizza had a perfectly crisp crust with fresh, flavorful ingredients, and the short rib ragù was rich, tender, and incredibly comforting. Since it's a brewery, I couldn't leave without trying one of their beer flights. Our server recommended a selection, and every single beer was excellent. It was a fun way to sample their craft brews, and the recommendations were spot on. The service was friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the location makes it an ideal stop before or after a show at the Bardavon. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Poughkeepsie! Highly recommend.
The restaurant appeared to have a nice ambiance while I waited for my take out order. The staff was friendly and accommodating, as well. The Chinese chicken salad I ordered was good. This note is for the kitchen staff: Read the specifications on the order. When someone says they have a wheat or gluten allergy, you don't include said products. This includes your soy peanut dressing (soy sauce has wheat) which I had called the restaurant about a few minutes before I placed my order to confirm if it had any wheat or gluten products. You may end up serving it up to someone with a severe allergy and cause a lawsuit against your establishment.
I stopped by Mill House Brewery after a hike, and the place has a very rustic and welcoming vibe. The food was great! I started with a side of shoestring fries (not really shoestring? More like thin cut fries), which were perfectly crispy and crunchy. I also ordered the fried calamari salad and it was delicious!!! Fresh, flavorful, and the sriracha ranch dressing tied everything together so well. Unfortunately, towards the end of my salad, I found a large fly in the salad. It was attempting to fly away. It wasn't just sitting there--it was covered in dressing, which made it clear it had been there the whole time. Definitely disappointing and pretty gross. When I brought it to the server's attention, he immediately got the manager. While the salad was taken off the bill, I didn't appreciate the manager suggesting/insinuated the fly might have flown in afterward. That wasn't the case and it came across as dismissive. That said, the food really was delicious, and I wouldn't let this one incident deter me from coming back. I just hope management handles situations like this with more accountability moving forward.

The cocktails are creative (particularly for a Brewery). The Fig and Pig Pizza is delicious. The service is attentive and the room is comfortable.

I had a hard time choosing what I wanted to eat. I chose the "Run of the Mill" sangria, Cauliflower Sticky Rice Bowl, and my husband and I shared the "Strawberry Shortcake" Cheesecake. The sangria was very good, but the Cauliflower Sticky Rice Bowl and the "Strawberry Shortcake" Cheesecake stole the show. The Cauliflower Sticky Rice Bowl was packed with flavor. It had sticky rice, tempura fried cauliflower with bang bang sauce, cucumber kimchi, edamame, radishes, scallions, and crispy shallots. It was very filling and I didn't leave anything behind. The "Strawberry Shortcake" Cheesecake had Graham cracker crust, vanilla cheesecake, angels food cake, fresh strawberries, and whipped cream. At first, the angel food cake portion was a little hard but within minutes, every layer was so moist and I enjoyed every single bite. My husband ordered half Haus hefeweizen and had the Blue-Bacon-Mushroom burger. He enjoyed his drink and meal as well. I am glad I had the opportunity to stop by The Mill House Brewing Company and have such a great meal. Nathan was our server and service was great and personable. The parking lot is also a good size.
Great spot for beer and food. We shared the pork tostada, chicken tiki meatballs, and the Mediterranean salad with chicken. We had a frozen palomino and a beer flight with our meal. The food was delish and balanced. The beers were refreshing. They have some funky tables for dining and an overall cool vibe. Nicole took great care of us and we will be back!
My friend and I popped in for a pre-dinner snack and drink and got a seat at the bar right away. I tried a delicious hibiscus ginger cider and we shared the bruschetta. It was super fresh and delicious. The menu looked amazing with lots of drinks and food options as well as a pizza oven. Specials looked great as well. Great vibes, staff were friendly and had great recommendations.

They had both a blueberry and cucumber beers which were delicious, especially the latter. Staff was super friendly and the place itself is so, so nice and clean. Met a friend for lunch and was seated in the upstairs area. Very nice setting and not too loud, perfect for catching up! My cappuccino and mortadella sandwich were tasty.
wow what a find was in the area and found this place what a great restaurant and bar. rooftop and sitting outside available. warm greeting as soon as you walk in. sat at the huge bar. many tv at bar. so many great selections started with fog and pig pizza. my Goodness this is a great pie. smoked mozzarella with duck bacon,figs with arugula , so balanced with high end ingredients. i ordered truffled short rib gnocchi. omg what a dish. creamy smooth tasty short rib with pillows of fun. wow i loved wife ordered blooming onion burger great mix of bacon patty half beef. this was a great burger so much flavor wife loved it we had Vinny as a waiter he went through the menu. what a great waiter and person. very professional and nice huge lot. prices not bad considering the ingredients they use. definitely make a trip here it's worth it not even telling you about the great beers they have. read more

Mill House. Mill House. Mill House.. Oh how I want to love you. Somehow though for a local brewery you fall short of my expectations every time. Somehow your draft prices feel high, and the beer is okay.. Somehow your food is good but the atmosphere feels a bit off (soiled and torn upholstery in booth seating, fruit flies everywhere, only one single bathroom on the first floor.) Somehow pricing seems odd when Belgium fries cost a dollar more than your shoe string fries, but I was charged $2 to swap shoe string fries for Belgium with my burger. Came here with my partner to grab a burger and a brew recently. We got a flight of beer so we could try a variety - you can either DIY or do one of their curated ones, we chose to pick our own. My favorite had to be the peach ale, but the cucumber ale was quite unique and fun too. My partner enjoyed the Zoe the most. We ordered the 50/50 burger which came with a massive portion of fries. It's a big space so great for groups, and the service was helpful and efficient! read more
Excellent brewry. One of my favorite flights that I have tried. Every single IPA was solid. I ended up getting 2 4packs to go (PK pale ale and Grocery getter). Will definitely try to go back when in town. Howevern don't bother with the food, even for pub appetizer the chicken wings and garlic bread bruschetta were pretty bad read more

We went on a Friday night and while we were seated right away (outside in October) it took an hour and a half for our food to arrive. 10 minutes for appetizer to arrive. The waiter handed us a water bottle and when he went to fetch the empty bottle he didn't bring me a full one either (& I emptied it half way through the meal!). The food was ok but my side salad (since I skipped the mashed potatoes) was just lettuce. I don't know that's a 'salad'. The atmosphere was nice but the music was unbearably loud and I was cold, which would have been ok had we not sat for almost three hours while eating. I don't know whether it was a lack of service or they were just extremely busy, but it was not an enjoyable meal. He never came to check on us and the food we waited for was just ok. read more
Was in the area and looking for a restaurant to go to but nothing too fancy, and I am glad we chose this one! For starters, they have a nice sized parking lot, and you're also able to park across the street if the main lot is full. The restaurant itself is very pretty with really nice decor. I was even impressed by the bathroom decor. This place has an upper-scale bar vibe to it. The inside is spacious with a full bar and lots of table seating. They also have some outdoor seating as well. We were seated immediately by a lovely hostess. We ordered diet cokes and a beer to start, and Buffalo wings as an appetizer. They don't have boneless wings, so we had to get on the bone. The flavor was delicious, just a little messy to eat. For entree we both ordered the 'honey butter chicken & biscuit sando'. This was DELICIOUS. The flavor on the chicken was awesome, and instead of being served between bread, it was served between a biscuit. The biscuit was HUGE; I only ate half of it. They serve the sandwich with shoestring fries, which you can substitute for the thicker fries if you'd like. The portion size of fries was very generous. For dessert, we went with the strawberry shortcake cheesecake. This was a layer of sponge cake on top of a layer of cheesecake, served with strawberries on top. This was also DELICIOUS! Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this place. This was exactly the food we were looking for, and it definitely exceeded our expectations. Service was good as well. I would definitely make the 45 minute drive to come back here again! I highly recommend this place! read more

Went to Mill House for lunch today and was very impressed. Parking can be a bit tough at the City of Poughkeepsie location. The Grandma's Pepperoni Pizza was great for starters. I had a BBQ Chicken and Ham sandwich with shoestring french fries from the daily special menu, and it was outstanding. The Kold One is a classic draft beer that hits the spot. Our waitress was great and made sure we were happy. I've always loves the cool vibe at the trendy brewery spot. read more
The food here is good! The brisket sandwich I had was delicious but the old bay chips were a huge miss. Not one person at our table cared for them. I should've asked for fries instead. Everything else that was ordered was good! The beer on the other hand is mid, at best. The specialty cocktail, Louis Lane was THE best cocktail I've had in a while. So since it's a brewery I'm taking off a point since the beers arent great. Would go back for food and cocktails. It was crowded and we had to wait at the bar but everyone was friendly and nice so we didn't mind. read more

Had Sunday Brunch at the Millhouse Brewing Company today. To start off, on Sundays, you can only order from their Sunday Brunch menu from 11am-2:30pm. The restaurant is very spacious with lots of seating, as well as a bar section. It gives off a very industrial, raw warehouse vibe. Ambiance rate 8/10. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They also accommodated my request by giving my party a big table! The service was also relatively quick. Staff/service rate: 7.5/10. My friends and I ordered... 1. Bang Bang Cauliflower: I got the small portion and it had about 8-10 pieces of fairly good sized cauliflower which kept me full. The large portion is said to fill a party of 4+. The flavor was very delicious and the cauliflower was perfectly crispy. I wish it had a spiciness to it though. Rate 8/10. 2. Biscuits and Gravy: This entree is definitely an acquired taste based on the gravy they poured all over the dish. The gravy had a strong array of spices that had an overpowering flavor of pepper. The biscuit was nice and moist however, I wish it was buttery. Lastly, the portion size was very large! Rate: 5/10. 3. Margherita Pizza: The pizza was very bland, with the mozzarella cheese tasting spoiled, and the crust being very chewy and not crispy at all. Rate 3/10. 4. Side of Tater Tots: These were slightly crispy and just okay. Rate 6/10. Overall, I wouldn't come back here due to the mediocrity of most of the dishes and them being overpriced. read more
Fantastic experience, visited on a rainy Saturday afternoon as a big party (11 ppl, including kids). Got seated quickly and our server, forgot her name but she's going to nursing school, was fantastic - super knowledgeable and helpful. The smoked brisket sandwich was delicious and there was compliments all around the table of everything people ordered. Mill house marg had me feeling toasty. It was our favorite meal of the weekend. read more

This place was great! Super creative and well executed menu. Generous portions and fast service! The vibe was also fantastic ... not sure I could recommend this place enough. My beer flight was great - my favorite was the raspberry sour. Least favorite was the ipa sour. The short run gnocchi was amazing - slices fried garlic was a treat. Huge bowl - took half home for later. Got a couple desserts to-go since we were driving home from here. read more

Attentive service with a smile and can do attitude. It's too dark... like... the lights are too low but I suppose it's atmosphere. Daughter: cheesesteak- no peppers and onions. But the bread and sauce were both great. And it's not a good sandwhich to hold because it falls apart. The fries (shoestring) were well seasoned. Me: The Porky, a burger with pulled pork. Steak fries substitute. Really good. Loved the fries. They gave me a salad and the server corrected the mistake lickity split. Hubbo: jambalaya pasta, really good. "I loved everything about it." Aesthetically great! They even added several televisions in the dining area so that you're able to watch the game. As a mama who brings her toddler, I appreciate it, so I too can watch the game. Food was delicious. Beer was good, just a bit overpriced @ $9 a pint for their own brew. I had the mamas pepperoni and my wife ordered the honey chicken sandwich. Both delicious. Our waiter was courteous and checked on us appropriately. Overall a good experience. read more
