This note is for the kitchen staff: Read the specifications on the order. When someone says they have a wheat or gluten allergy, you don't include said products. This includes your soy peanut dressing (soy sauce has wheat) which I had called the restaurant about a few minutes before I placed my order to confirm if it had any wheat or gluten products. I stopped by Mill House Brewery after a hike, and the place has a very rustic and welcoming vibe. The food was great! I started with a side of shoestring fries (not really shoestring? More like thin cut fries), which were perfectly crispy and crunchy. I also ordered the fried calamari salad and it was delicious!!! Fresh, flavorful, and the sriracha ranch dressing tied everything together so well. Unfortunately, towards the end of my salad, I found a large fly in the salad. It was attempting to fly away. It wasn't just sitting there--it was covered in dressing, which made it clear it had been there the whole time. Definitely disappointing and pretty gross. When I brought it to the server's attention, he immediately got the manager. While the salad was taken off the bill, I didn't appreciate the manager suggesting/insinuated the fly might have flown in afterward. That wasn't the case and it came across as dismissive. That said, the food really was delicious, and I wouldn't let this one incident deter me from coming back. The Mill House Brewing Company was recommended by friends who used to work in the area. I arrived on a Saturday about 4:00pm and were seated right away. The restaurant is very spacious with lots of inside seating, seats around the bar, and outside seating as well. The menu offers salads, pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, and so much more. I had a hard time choosing what I wanted to eat. I chose the "Run of the Mill" sangria, Cauliflower Sticky Rice Bowl, and my husband and I shared the "Strawberry Shortcake" Cheesecake. The sangria was very good, but the Cauliflower Sticky Rice Bowl and the "Strawberry Shortcake" Cheesecake stole the show. The Cauliflower Sticky Rice Bowl was packed with flavor. It had sticky rice, tempura fried cauliflower with bang bang sauce, cucumber kimchi, edamame, radishes, scallions, and crispy shallots. It was very filling and I didn't leave anything behind. The "Strawberry Shortcake" Cheesecake had Graham cracker crust, vanilla cheesecake, angels food cake, fresh strawberries, and whipped cream. At first, the angel food cake portion was a little hard but within minutes, every layer was so moist and I enjoyed every single bite. My husband ordered half Haus hefeweizen and had the Blue-Bacon-Mushroom burger. He enjoyed his drink and meal as well. let me start off with I was out to dinner with my family once b4 at the mill house and it wasn't a good experience but then decided to give it another try with just my wife and i. Let me say my second experience was just as bad as the first if not worse, my wife had the chicken club Sando in which the chicken was very dry and not very good I thought the fries were tasty she shared with me, now I had the kielbasa and pierogies we'll let me tell you first off it came out cold the pierogies were flat with very little stuffing in them, I sent the dish back to have them put some heat on it and it came back warm I was not happy to say the least the funny thing about it was the restaurant had very few patrons a couple of tables and some people at the bar. Slightly elevated bar food at slightly elevated prices. The biggest draw is their beer selection (if you don't drink beer you're out of luck - avoid the wine), and the ability to host large parties. The food all hovers around 'good but not great' - the margherita pizza is decent (the fresh mozzarella always seems like it's been previously frozen) while the fig & "pig" is very good, the Chinese chicken salad is disappointing (too much cabbage? too many peanuts?), while the mediterranean salad is very good, the burgers are ok (but no question from the server how you'd like it cooked?), but the French dip is much better. For starters, they have a nice sized parking lot, and you're also able to park across the street if the main lot is full. The restaurant itself is very pretty with really nice decor. They don't have boneless wings, so we had to get on the bone. The flavor was delicious, just a little messy to eat. For entree we both ordered the 'honey butter chicken & biscuit sando'. This was DELICIOUS. The flavor on the chicken was awesome, and instead of being served between bread, it was served between a biscuit. The biscuit was HUGE; I only ate half of it. They serve the sandwich with shoestring fries, which you can substitute for the thicker fries if you'd like. The portion size of fries was very generous. For dessert, we went with the strawberry shortcake cheesecake. This was a layer of sponge cake on top of a layer of cheesecake, served with strawberries on top. This was also DELICIOUS! Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this place. This was exactly the food we were looking for, and it definitely exceeded our expectations. Service was good as well. Bang Bang Cauliflower: I got the small portion and it had about 8-10 pieces of fairly good sized cauliflower which kept me full. The large portion is said to fill a party of 4+. The flavor was very delicious and the cauliflower was perfectly crispy. I wish it had a spiciness to it though. Rate 8/10. 2. Biscuits and Gravy: This entree is definitely an acquired taste based on the gravy they poured all over the dish. The gravy had a strong array of spices that had an overpowering flavor of pepper. The restaurant is much larger inside than I thought. I've been here a few times with others and the food is always on point. I've tried their burgers, pizzas, wings, and specials. Their beer (at least one of them: "Kold One" is kind of famous in this area, many other local establishments serve it on tap.)
