I stopped by Mill House Brewery after a hike, and the place has a very rustic and welcoming vibe. The food was great! I started with a side of shoestring fries (not really shoestring? More like thin cut fries), which were perfectly crispy and crunchy. I also ordered the fried calamari salad and it was delicious!!! Fresh, flavorful, and the sriracha ranch dressing tied everything together so well. Unfortunately, towards the end of my salad, I found a large fly in the salad. It was attempting to fly away. It wasn't just sitting there--it was covered in dressing, which made it clear it had been there the whole time. Definitely disappointing and pretty gross. When I brought it to the server's attention, he immediately got the manager. While the salad was taken off the bill, I didn't appreciate the manager suggesting/insinuated the fly might have flown in afterward. That wasn't the case and it came across as dismissive. That said, the food really was delicious, and I wouldn't let this one incident deter me from coming back. I just hope management handles situations like this with more accountability moving forward.

Large restaurant and parking lot The restaurant is a short walk from the Bardavon 1869 Opera House. Make a reservation if you plan to eat there on a day when there is a show. The cocktails are creative (particularly for a Brewery). The Fig and Pig Pizza is delicious. The service is attentive and the room is comfortable.

The Mill House Brewing Company was recommended by friends who used to work in the area. I arrived on a Saturday about 4:00pm and were seated right away. The restaurant is very spacious with lots of inside seating, seats around the bar, and outside seating as well. The menu offers salads, pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, and so much more. I had a hard time choosing what I wanted to eat. I chose the "Run of the Mill" sangria, Cauliflower Sticky Rice Bowl, and my husband and I shared the "Strawberry Shortcake" Cheesecake. The sangria was very good, but the Cauliflower Sticky Rice Bowl and the "Strawberry Shortcake" Cheesecake stole the show. The Cauliflower Sticky Rice Bowl was packed with flavor. It had sticky rice, tempura fried cauliflower with bang bang sauce, cucumber kimchi, edamame, radishes, scallions, and crispy shallots. It was very filling and I didn't leave anything behind. The "Strawberry Shortcake" Cheesecake had Graham cracker crust, vanilla cheesecake, angels food cake, fresh strawberries, and whipped cream. At first, the angel food cake portion was a little hard but within minutes, every layer was so moist and I enjoyed every single bite. My husband ordered half Haus hefeweizen and had the Blue-Bacon-Mushroom burger. He enjoyed his drink and meal as well. I am glad I had the opportunity to stop by The Mill House Brewing Company and have such a great meal. Nathan was our server and service was great and personable. The parking lot is also a good size.

Great spot for beer and food. We shared the pork tostada, chicken tiki meatballs, and the Mediterranean salad with chicken. We had a frozen palomino and a beer flight with our meal. The food was delish and balanced. The beers were refreshing. They have some funky tables for dining and an overall cool vibe. Nicole took great care of us and we will be back!

My friend and I popped in for a pre-dinner snack and drink and got a seat at the bar right away. I tried a delicious hibiscus ginger cider and we shared the bruschetta. It was super fresh and delicious. The menu looked amazing with lots of drinks and food options as well as a pizza oven. Specials looked great as well. Great vibes, staff were friendly and had great recommendations.

We went on a Friday night and while we were seated right away (outside in October) it took an hour and a half for our food to arrive. 10 minutes for appetizer to arrive. The waiter handed us a water bottle and when he went to fetch the empty bottle he didn't bring me a full one either (& I emptied it half way through the meal!). The food was ok but my side salad (since I skipped the mashed potatoes) was just lettuce. I don't know that's a 'salad'. The atmosphere was nice but the music was unbearably loud and I was cold, which would have been ok had we not sat for almost three hours while eating. I don't know whether it was a lack of service or they were just extremely busy, but it was not an enjoyable meal. He never came to check on us and the food we waited for was just ok.

Came here for drinks and had a great experience. I was able to sit at the bar and order a flight right away. Normally flights are a set of 4, but here, you can pick 5. They had both a blueberry and cucumber beers which were delicious, especially the latter. Staff was super friendly and the place itself is so, so nice and clean. Food was very yummy and service was great. Would absolutely come back.

For a Brewing Company I find their draft beer offerings limited. The interior gives pub vibes, while still being welcoming for families. The food is just okay. Great concept, missing that wow factor.

Met a friend for lunch and was seated in the upstairs area. Very nice setting and not too loud, perfect for catching up! My cappuccino and mortadella sandwich were tasty.

Came here with my partner to grab a burger and a brew recently. We got a flight of beer so we could try a variety - you can either DIY or do one of their curated ones, we chose to pick our own. My favorite had to be the peach ale, but the cucumber ale was quite unique and fun too. My partner enjoyed the Zoe the most. We ordered the 50/50 burger which came with a massive portion of fries. It's a big space so great for groups, and the service was helpful and efficient!

Excellent brewry. One of my favorite flights that I have tried. Every single IPA was solid. I ended up getting 2 4packs to go (PK pale ale and Grocery getter). Will definitely try to go back when in town. Howevern don't bother with the food, even for pub appetizer the chicken wings and garlic bread bruschetta were pretty bad

Was in the area and looking for a restaurant to go to but nothing too fancy, and I am glad we chose this one! For starters, they have a nice sized parking lot, and you're also able to park across the street if the main lot is full. The restaurant itself is very pretty with really nice decor. I was even impressed by the bathroom decor. This place has an upper-scale bar vibe to it. The inside is spacious with a full bar and lots of table seating. They also have some outdoor seating as well. We were seated immediately by a lovely hostess. We ordered diet cokes and a beer to start, and Buffalo wings as an appetizer. They don't have boneless wings, so we had to get on the bone. The flavor was delicious, just a little messy to eat. For entree we both ordered the 'honey butter chicken & biscuit sando'. This was DELICIOUS. The flavor on the chicken was awesome, and instead of being served between bread, it was served between a biscuit. The biscuit was HUGE; I only ate half of it. They serve the sandwich with shoestring fries, which you can substitute for the thicker fries if you'd like. The portion size of fries was very generous. For dessert, we went with the strawberry shortcake cheesecake. This was a layer of sponge cake on top of a layer of cheesecake, served with strawberries on top. This was also DELICIOUS! Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this place. This was exactly the food we were looking for, and it definitely exceeded our expectations. Service was good as well. I would definitely make the 45 minute drive to come back here again! I highly recommend this place!

BBQ Chicken and Ham sandwich with Shoestring Fries. Köld One 4.6% - Kölsch

Went to Mill House for lunch today and was very impressed. Parking can be a bit tough at the City of Poughkeepsie location. The Grandma's Pepperoni Pizza was great for starters. I had a BBQ Chicken and Ham sandwich with shoestring french fries from the daily special menu, and it was outstanding. The Kold One is a classic draft beer that hits the spot. Our waitress was great and made sure we were happy. I've always loves the cool vibe at the trendy brewery spot.

We tried all 8 beers they had on tap that day...they offer tastes of each beer for free, and then half pours are $5...all in all, super reasonable. The beers were all light and flavorful, there will certainly be something for everyone in your group. Upon receiving our beer, we went to sit outside and listen to the live entertainment. The man singing and playing the guitar and keyboard had a fun personality and clearly wrote many of his songs. This ever-talented man, after one of his songs, thanked us for coming out and shared that he is the owner of the farm and brewery and that we were experiencing the fruits of 13 years of work by him and his wife. How incredible! Not only is this a beautiful story of a family living the dream, it also made me want to return and spend more time there. There are plenty of chairs and picnic tables to sit at while enjoying your beverages and the music, but we saw an older couple bring their own chairs, which we thought was a good idea. In addition to the by-owner music, they have a variety of board games available to play, along with several bags sets. It's also a dog-friendly spot. After we walked in one of the waitresses informed us that we can sit wherever we want. I instantly felt like I was inconveniencing her with my presence by the way she said it. Didn't take it personal just yet. What appeared to be the hostess came over a few minutes after we sat down and handed us menus that were very dirty. I looked at my husband and said I am ready to walk out of this place bc I am starving and it looks like they are too short staffed right now which is understandably out of a businesses control sometimes. But wait, instead of the waitress coming to our table to bring water or ask us if we would like a drink, she went to another table with a man and a child that she obviously knew well, and started eating their french fries and talking. That's when we decided to leave and spend our money elsewhere. So unprofessional. That couldn't wait? I hate to leave a review like this, but if I was the owner of this business, I would not want someone like that working for me, representing what seems to be a great place.
