Mixed Review: Thank god this place is under new ownership! The food and coffee is sooo much better now. The weekend brunch is very good. The service, too. The woman who owns the place seems unfriendly but the girl who works the counter on weekend mornings (maybe her daughter?) is so sweet and adorable. My only real gripe is that my husband and I came here for wine one night and it was pretty terrible. The kid working the desk didn't know anything about the wine. My red wine tasted like vinegar and when I inquired about the shelf life, he said it had been left there open for over 9 days -WHAT??! Why did he serve me bad wine? Do these people really not understand that wine oxidizes and goes sour very quickly? And the selection was pretty terrible. I suggest hiring a wine consultant to help with the wine list and etiquette if the cafe is going to have a dedicated "Friday Wine Night". I guess you can't expect much by the way of wine culture (or any culture for that matter) in Orange County. But try the Huevos Rancheros and an Americano - excellent! read more

Came here on a Saturday morning for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised! Highlights: ICED MOCHA: I don't know what they used, but this was probably one of the best mochas i have ever tried. It was creamy and chocolate-y and so good. California Burrito: my family LOVED this. It has AVOCADO (which makes everything better), eggs, cheese, hash browns, tomatoes and bacon. It's really good! Chorizo and Eggs: I love chorizo so this was delicious! They give a generous portion of chorizo and comes with toast or tortillas if you ask for them. I'd definitely come again. came here after a hike at peter's canyon with my girl since we were looking for a place we've never been to or heard of,, and we were not disappointed it was a little hidden in the crowded plaza but that was about the only downside. the second we got in, we loved it it's got a nice aesthetic to it (great for foodie pics or instagram posts if you're into that), the cashier girl and the barista guy were super nice, and they gave us time to look over the varied menu and drinks they offer (apparently they offer alcoholic beverages) i got the chorizo and egg breakfast burrito and hash browns (it was delicious, especially with the salsa they add on the side), and my girlfriend got the cheese and ham omelette with fruits on the side (also delicious and perfectly cheesy, not overwhelming at all). to drink, i got their cold brew with an extra espresso shot and she got a banana and strawberry smoothie (both delicious) overall, i would recommend this place to anyone for any breakfast/brunch meal read more

My older daughter and her husband brought me and my wife here on Father's day for breakfast, everyone ordered something different, it was everyone's first time there. Great food, all agreed there meal was really good, great flavors, portions, service. Eggs Benedict, breakfast burrito, waffles and strawberries, farmers omelet were all enjoyed. I only had the coffee (espresso). It was alright but had a strange burnt wood after taste that wasn't great. The person at the counter had a runny noise and was wiping it with his hand. He then didn't wash up before continuing to make drinks. It didn't help that he didn't look like he had showered at all. At one point he even unwrapped straws and handled them. I ask for no lid and no straw to keep things as sanitary as I could. I think quickly jacked off the outside of my cup with hand sanitizer to feel okay about drinking it. read more

So I found this place on yelp, of course...just moved to orange and I needed to grab a quick breakfast, I didn't want anything heavy. Saw a pic of the Açaí bowl , sounded perfect and it did not disappoint! I ordered a small, which was perfect! It was topped with banana, strawberries, blueberries and red berries. I also ordered a large dark roast coffee with chocolate mint flavor and it was so good! WOW! This place is so go great. All though my first experience started off on the wrong foot because a friend that I was with spilled water on me. It was okay though because Cyranos had a plethora of napkins to help cleanup. I ordered the starburst smoothie and the breakfast burrito. Let me tell you it was delicious. The smoothie did need to be blended a little more but boy it was delicious. Very vibrant and fresh fruit flavors. The breakfast burrito was divine. It included eggs, beans, bacon and cheese. It also came with hash browns and in my life it's been hard to find hash browns that I haven't had to salt. These hash browns were amazing. Perfect amount of salt and crispness. A friend took me here for an early lunch when I came to visit her in Orange county. This place is very hidden away so you definitely need to locate it on a map before heading over. This seems to be a good option for a breakfast, brunch type place, especially on a weekend. The inside is very warm and there was soft Xmas music playing while we were there. Even in the holiday season it wasn't too busy so everything was made pretty quickly. For my meal I decided to go with the breakfast quesadilla (egg, cheese, sausage, which was actually pretty tasty and a decent price as well. Was it anything memorable? Not really, but it was pretty good and came with salsa and sour cream as well. My friend ordered the breakfast bagel which came with eggs, cheese, and bacon and looked pretty good too. I have been coming to this place for fifteen years. It has always been somewhat cool... But now they have this new owner and the quality of everything is so much better, cleaner, and tastier. We visited here for the first time during the week for a late breakfast. Prices of the foods seemed a little higher than competitors in the area, but I liked all the fruit we received as sides and in the fruit parfait. They were very fresh! I had one of their omelets, it tasted way too salty and I thought it was killing other flavors. (isn't it what salt and pepper on the table for? So each customer can add to whatever their likings...) I don't think I would come here for breakfast unless I'm in the area and must grab a bite, but I would come back here for meeting with friends for coffee and sweets. The atmosphere was awesome. Cyrano's caffee looks as though its been cut out of a beautiful studio ghibli film. The food was great, and the coffee selection was wide. I ordered the breakfast burrito and an iced blended mocha. The burrito was unique because I've never had a black bean breakfast burrito. Delicious. It was the coffee that makes me want to come back though. The mocha was unlike any I've had before. It was blended finely but not so much as to make it a frapachino. Really really really slow service on Sunday mornings but the server Cole was super nice and helpful! Loved him. A lot of other staff were inexperienced and slow to the job. We received a latte with no steamed milk or foam. It looked like a flat cup of coffee. Cole was quick to fix it and personally made us lattes because apparently the other guy was new and inexperienced. The food was good. A little salty. I wish they had different styles of potatoes other than the hashbrowns as a side and maybe an expanded patio. Otherwise it was pretty good for the area. read more

My family has been here before and I decided to join them earlier this morning for breakfast. The reason I am giving this place three stars is due to a cashier (I believe she was older and had short hair) who gave me attitude simply because I wanted to know what type of potatoes they are using. I have an allergy to russet potatoes so I have to ask almost everywhere I go. She, very rudely, told me that they are hash potatoes and that they are frozen. I then again asked if they were russet or red since she avoided the question. She gave me more attitude about it so I decided against it. When I received my food (Greek scramble) nothing had flavor, the only thing that saved it was the feta cheese. Very disappointed after trying everyone else's plate. I will consider giving it another try because I know they can do so much better. read more

A Fantastic Experience. I have been here a couple times when it was hot and until now my experiences were good enough to come back for the cold drinks, but nothing stood out. The service is good really, the smoothies are good, and the cup sizes are on the larger size. However, the food is a bit pricey. Today I brought someone with me and we were surprised to find out that it is temporarily closed for a few days. One of the employees saw us outside and invited us in for a cold drink. We tried the Jiggly Juice, which is an Arnold Palmer with strawberry syrup. To our surprise we were told it was on the house. This generosity is what makes the Cyrano Cafe stand out in an area where coffee shop cafes are a dime a dozen. I am more likely to recommend this place to others now and will continue to come back once it reopens. read more

It's a cute little place, but the gentleman behind the counter did not crack one smile when I cheerfully greeted him, or the entire time we were there. You know golden rule, "Don't order steak in Sea Food restaurant" well same goes for this place. This place is basically a coffee shop with few tables inside and outside. We tried it out today for the first time for breakfast. Ordered steak, breakfast burrito, eggs Florentine, and Huevos Rancheros. It is not cheap our bill was $65 for what we thought would be simple breakfast. Eggs in both burrito and eggs Florentine were overcooked. Steak was cooked to death. It was grey looking and not very appetizing. I guess, it is a little our fault since they did not ask us how we want our steak prepared ... we forgot to specify. Food was nothing to talk about. My fruit side salad was the best thing in the whole meal. On Positive note: Coffee was good and I saw that they can prepare other coffee drinks. You can bring your dog to join you at outdoor seating. You get free refills on coffee. They have regular half and half and almond milk available. I might give it another try. I would suggest not ordering food that requires cooking but more bagel sandwiches and pastries. All those things looked good. read more

I ordered steak an eggs and my steak was over cooked unfortunately. I'm not picky so I ate it happily and it's was well seasoned and the HASH BROWNS are AMAZING! The workers were so nice and helpful and very welcoming. There was a guy there with tattoos by the name of Cole (I think) who made the whole experience. The way he interacted with his fellow workers and customers was unmatchable. He constantly had a HUGE smile on his face and looked happy to be there. He served us and he made up for the over cooked steak with his sense of humor and his personality. Definitely a great addition for this place. The girls at the front were also very helpful and funny even though you can tell they were busy they were super willing to have a conversation and entertain!
