Sitting on the patio watching the world go by

My server Amanda was absolutely amazing and very kind and personable. She did a great job. I had the twisted tuna sandwich with turkey bacon and an amazing piece of apple pie alamode. Everything was extremely fresh and tasted great.

Nice location. We.were quickly greeted. We ordered the 1.00 dip/hummus of the month it was green chili dip cream.cheese base. Very good. I ordered the tropical tea and they kindly refilled often. I off the green Verde chilaquilles they were quite good with 2 fried eggs on top. Nicely portioned and great flavor. I did like that they serve breakfast all day. Also ordered mushroom roasted sandwich. So good with the melted toasted cheese bread. Dressing and lettuce complimented it. Very pleased with both orderes. That's a bonus. The weather was quite hot but the umbrellas and shade covered nicely. Server was really nice. Definitely come back.

The service and the ambience was amazing! The hostess was also our waitress and she was constantly checking in on us to ensure that we were absolutely happy and enjoyed our meals. We love that. She was also exceptionally friendly. I must also say that the strawberry margarita and the cheese bread is probably one the best I've ever had! Their strawberry margarita had wine in it, which was so interesting and exquisite! The taste and presentation was superb! I ordered the chicken enchilada Verde. It was good and very filling. The quantity and the portion was wonderful. We were celebrating a friend's birthday and she got free cheesecake. How lovely is that!!!!

I had an amazing lunch here on a weekday afternoon. It was a nice day so we decided to sit on the front covered patio. It was a bit cool so they had their heaters on to keep us comfortable. There is also indoor seating with a charmingly cozy atmosphere in what is formerly a house. Barbara was our server and was informative, attentive, funny, and full of personality - she made our meal all the more enjoyable. The menu here is HUGE with lots of sandwiches, salads, bowls, soups, etc. I ordered the Ruta Club Sandwich and an iced tea. The sandwich was on sourdough bread and contained ham, turkey, cheddar cheese, and tomatoes. Packets of mustard and mayo were put on the side to add as I wanted. The ingredients were fresh, especially the vibrantly flavored tomato slices. A small pasta salad on the side as well as a pickle completed the plate. It was an excellent sandwich. Instead of dessert, I had a coffee drink; Cafe Milano. This Viennese coffee tasted of cocoa and cinnamon with whipped cream on top. Excellent!!! The service, atmosphere, and great food combined to make this a fantastic experience. Note: Parking in the area can sometimes be challenging. When visiting the Orange Circle area I always park in a free structure a couple blocks away on Lemon Street just off Chapman Ave.

Meh. We ordered the garlic chicken salad, no carrots. Instead, she put no cucumbers. I asked since there were going to switch it out, if I can have green leaf instead of mixed... they basically picked out the carrots and left it as is, then stated they switched out the mixed greens for spring mix. They did not. The other item we ordered was the Thai bowl. Asked for dressing in the side, instead, they drenched it with the peanut sauce. Unfortunately, based on this experience alone, I won't be back.

Excellent experience on a Saturday late morning, around 11:30 am. We initially were going to the filling station cafe, but as usual is it insanely busy and food is just ok. If you walk down across the street and a few more steps, you'll find this relaxing, welcoming, and quieter restaurant. No wait, plenty of seats, very welcoming staff. Great for a nice breakfast and lunch date or with friends. Food was good, flavorful and delicious, and the sweet potatoes dip was awesome. Good value, good flavor! Professional waiter and staff!

I met a friend for lunch and he suggested Rutabegorz because it has a great selection of vegetarian options. The place is very conveniently located in downtown Orange and has a really nice inside and outside area to enjoy the food. The service was great with a friendly staff and also er efficient service. The food was good and very tasty. It is ver close to Chapman University and draws all kinds people. The price was very reasonable and I am looking forward to going again. I haven't been to this location before but it has more room than the one in Fullerton. If you like good food and lots of different options for both meat and vegetarian items, you have come to the right place!

I've had a few dishes here but the chilaquiles veredes are the best in OC hands down. The chips are served a crunchy since the sauce, feta cheese (gives a nice flavor), pico de gallo, and fresh slices avocado melts in your mouth. Service is an A plus with friendly and welcoming smiles from the time you walk in, consistent coffee and water fills until your belly is full. The outdoor ambiance on a nice warm day makes this place a perfect way to start the day before you hit the Orange Circle for antique shopping. Cheers to the servers and cooks.

Yesterday after going to the Hilbert Museum my friend and I had lunch at Rutabegorz in Orange CA. My friend had scrambled eggs and turkey sausage. I had a bowl of cockie leeky soup and half a turkey sandwich. Everything was very good. For fans of such things, cockie leeky soup was one of the items on the April 14th 1912 First Class lunch menu aboard Titanic. Later that night Titanic hit an iceberg. Since I was going back to Los Angeles on the train, I wasn't worried about the train hitting an iceberg.

    Breakfast quesadilla
    Marie S.

Craving something warm and cheesy, the breakfast quesadilla did not disappoint. Loaded with egg, cheese and black beans with side of guacamole, sour cream and pico. Couldn't eat it all! Nice, peaceful patio seating in old town Orange. Staff were very outgoing and kind. Made everyone comfortable and made sure everything was good. Large vegetarian menu plus some chicken and tuna based options served beer, wine and mixed drinks. Open at 8 am daily serving breakfast as well as seasonal specials and regular menu items. Great way to start the morning

Ok so cute lil place w a big menu and plenty of seating (outside and inside). Staff is also super sweet which is great :) Only taking off the 2 stars cause food was pretty meh. Bowl was kinda unflavorful and the chimichurri sauce was just cilantro which was pretty overpowering. Idk if I'd go there again but there other food (burritos and stuff) looked pretty good!

Great patio to sit at, dine and hangout, anytime of day or night.

Came here recently with some family. We all ended up ordering the same salad because we enjoy it so much. Hands down such an incredibly great place to eat healthy food. While the food is great, the service and atmosphere is fantastic as well. Everyone loves a great patio to enjoy a good meal and they certainly do not disappoint. To be honest i also love the inside eating too, especially on a cool (or way too warm) day, but that's just me. Try the cheesecake or cookies for dessert, and let then know Frankie recommended it. It might not get you anything free but i truly enjoy supporting local businesses who do it right. Enjoy! - Updating a bit on 10-28-2024‐ Honestly cannot count how many times I've been here, mostly with my wife before marriage, before we had kids, and now that my son is in college we still come. We appreciate many things about Rutabegorz, both here and in Tustin. Hope to continue to enjoy it more through the years.

I'm sorry, but we do not offer delivery services.

    Are they offering reservations?

I believe they do for larger groups, if you call they will just let you know if you'll need one for that time of day.

The best change I noticed is the lowering of the prices. I was originally appalled at the price that it was for a bagel and cream cheese but when I went a few weeks ago, I noticed they were offering a bagel and cream cheese plus a coffee every Monday through Friday for 5.99. To me this felt like an intentional move to bring people back because it truly was outrageous prices for bagels before this. The only negative thing I have to say is that when I ordered my bagel with cream cheese, I waited 15 minutes for it and I could tell that they were understaffed. Previously, I have ordered ahead, but on this occasion, I did not because how long will it really take to toast a bagel and put cream cheese on it. There were people that had been waiting a really long time for their order and guests were frustrated but I will definitely be going back now that the prices are lower and the bagels are very delicious.

It's not often today for the owner of a business to reach out directly to a customer - she did and it was a very positive engagement. There are time that even the best business has a hiccup and something goes wrong. What makes a huge difference is how the business responds, and therefore, Rekindle gets five stars. I'm certain my next visit will be fantastic - I'll be posting an update in the near future. Wow - So Disappointed! Rekindle was at the Taste of Orange this year and I enjoyed one of the Italian sandwich samples they were handing out. It was fantastic! We met the owner - she was very charismatic and charming. Today we stopped by to grab an Italian sandwich, and I just cannot believe they served me bread that was so old and dry - it would have been perfect for croutons, but definitely nothing like what we had at the Taste of Orange. The bread was so dry I had to dress it up with some olive relish to eat it - I don't expect when I pay $31 for a sandwich and chai iced tea latte to get home and have to start working on my sandwich. My first thought was, "This is going to take forever." My second thought was, "If this many people are lining up for a bagel, it must be good." Thankfully, the line moved surprisingly fast. The gentleman who took my order told me it's pretty much always like this on the weekends, although weekdays are much more mellow. Since it was my first time, I asked him what I should get. He recommended the OG and said it was probably the bagel they make the most, so I told him to give it to me exactly how they make it, on an everything bagel. I also wanted to try something sweet, so he recommended a toasted plain bagel with a sweet cream cheese and jelly on the side. While waiting, I watched them preparing the orders, and you could tell they actually care about what they're putting out. They were paying attention to the details, carefully wrapping everything, and you could see fresh bagels being made right in front of you. I kid you not, this ended up being one of the best bagel spots I've ever been to. The OG was incredible. It was surprisingly simple--sausage, egg, and cheese--but everything just worked. They give you this green crema sauce on the side that was RIDICULOUSLY good with it. They also had some hot sauces sitting on the counter that I'd never heard of, so I grabbed one to try, and that took the breakfast bagel to another level. I've genuinely never had a breakfast bagel quite like this. Then I tried the sweeter bagel with the cream cheese and jelly, and that was phenomenal too. Completely different from the OG, but just as good in its own way. My only small criticism is the price. My breakfast bagel was around $14, which is definitely on the expensive side for a bagel. But honestly? After eating it, I wasn't mad about it. If you come on a weekend and see a line out the door, DON'T LET IT SCARE YOU AWAY. It moves faster than you'd think, and in my experience, it was absolutely worth the wait. Highly recommend this place. I'll 100% be coming back the next time I'm in town.
