The food is pretty good and definitely unique compared to what is typically found in the SGV area. It's a mix of different southeast Asian cuisines together, with a Western twist. Portion sizes are great, and definitely filling. Service is a bit slow, and the food does take a while to come out.

I decided to come here for a birthday celebration and ooo la la the ambiance really set the mood. Service was spectacularrr. I appreciated our server for constantly checking in. Now, let's get to the important part- the FOOD! -Garlic Prawns: 5/5 WOW chef's kiss. I got this because of all the positive reviews I saw on Yelp. I love love love how they left the shrimp's skin in the dish, where you could eat them like chips! They were not hard at all...and perfectly crisped! -Thai Steak Salad: 5/5 the steak MELTS in your mouth and was not chewy at all. I'm not sure how they were able to make the steak so soft and delicious. -Crying Tiger Lambchops: 5/5 I'm not a fan of lamb, but these lamb chop were deliciouso!! The sauced up lettuce side that it came with, complimented the lamb really well. -Nasi Goreng w/ Wagyu Ribeye Cap: 4/5 This Indonesian fried rice was good, but the Wagyu meat kind of tasted a bit odd, but maybe that's just me because my bf loved it. -Singaporean Chili Lobster: 3.5/5 I wasn't really a fan of this since the based flavor had such a strong tomato/ketchup taste... When I made the reservation, I politely requested if there was a way for them to make the bday celebration special, and I'm glad I wrote that because at the end of our meal, our server brought out a Pandan Crème Brulee: 5/5 !!! It was very delicious that we devoured it all! Overall I will def be back to try the oxtail dumplings that I saw people constantly ordering. Note, there is a 20% tip charge that automatically gets added to your check!

Bone Kettle has become one of my favorite restaurants, and it's one of those places I keep coming back to because it's consistently amazing. If you come for dinner, do yourself a favor and order the Brussels sprouts, they're only available at dinner, and I genuinely get them every single time. They're that good. The noodle soups are always incredible too. The broth is rich and flavorful, the noodles are perfectly cooked, and no matter how many times I've been, the quality has never changed. That kind of consistency is hard to find and really keeps me coming back. The service is always friendly and the food comes out surprisingly quickly, even when they're busy. I also appreciate that they're a tipless restaurant with a 20% service charge already included. It's nice knowing the staff is taken care of without having to think about calculating a tip at the end.

We made plans to have brunch with the girls. We looked over the menu and ordered three dishes. The food took way too long to come out. They also charged a 20% service fee upfront. Other than that, everything was okay.

Like most people, this place has been on my list for awhile. First thing you notice is how big it is. There are tables everywhere. Outdoor seating in the front like half of Pasadena still has from the pandemic days, plus a back courtyard. The building itself is beautiful and definitely adds to the experience. We accidentally showed up during happy hour without realizing it, which worked out nicely. We ordered the wings and lumpia. The lumpia were MASSIVE, basically egg-roll sized. Honestly though, I wasn't really a fan of either appetizer. Of course the broth is the star of the show. That's why you're here. I could have sat there drinking that broth all day. I almost finished the whole thing but ended up saving some to take home because I wanted to experiment with it on other food later. Looking back, I also completely failed my first visit. I didn't even order noodles or rice. That's like going to a burger place and forgetting fries. So part of me feels like I still haven't actually done Bone Kettle correctly yet. The one thing that kept throwing me off was the music. Somebody had on what felt like a 2021 club remix playlist. Maybe that works after 8pm, but for a 5:30 dinner crowd it felt weirdly distracting. The room and the building have one vibe, the music had another. There was also a ton of staff working. They're incredibly attentive, maybe a little too attentive. The water glasses aren't very big, so it felt like every three sips someone was back at the table refilling them. I found it a little distracting at first, but then again, I'd rather have a full glass than an empty one. I'd definitely come back and try more dishes because the menu is huge and there are a lot of things that looked interesting walking past other tables. Then again... this is Pasadena. There's also about a hundred other places I've been meaning to try first. The broth though? I'd come back for that alone.

Bone Kettle is a Pasadena gem! Delicious Filipino fusion cuisine. My go to is the bone broth soup with top sirloin. The broth is rich and light, with chewy ramen noodles. It's a clean yet flavorful broth that I really enjoy. The lectin here is so juicy and crunch, and the picked carrots and radish pair well to balance the fat. Vibes here a low light setting, great for date night. Service here has always been great as well. An amazing dining experience in Pasadena!

Make a reservation or you will not be a happy camper for dinner. This place is great and it shows by the fact that you really want a reservation. Bone Kettle is in Old Towne Pasadena. It is a beautiful spot to have lunch, dinner or brunch. We have tried all, but we do love their dinner menu the best. Parking can be a pain, but you will be fine. The place is super clean and new looking, although we have been coming for a few years now. The service is great, from the Hostess to the servers, all were on their game as was the kitchen. Our food was perfect and we have zero complaints. You must try Bone Kettle. It is worth it. It is Asian food and boy is it great. It is upscale Asian and you can taste it in every bite. Their Beef Ribs which is a Bone Kettle signature dish- also has fried shallots, scallions. It is so tender and juicy. I am not in love with their Oxtail dumplings, but they were very good and my grandson is in love with them. They are juicy and just so fresh tasting. Their Rendang Carbonara is a must try. It is 24hr braised shredded short ribs, fried shallots, chives, micro cilantro, parmesan cheese, bell peppers, noodles, bacon and poached egg. You can add bone marrow for about 12$. Do that. Finally, and we love all the food, but the Seafood Char Kway Teow is a must if you like fishcakes. It is rice noodles, pork lap cheong, prawns, fishcake, clams, mussels, calamari, bean sprouts, egg, fried shallots, green onions and great chives and chili oil. The oysters in the shell are also great. Have fun.

Not gonna say I love this place nor will I say I like this place. It's just OK. There are other great restaurants in Pasadena that I'd rather go to. I do love trying fusion restaurants, but I would rather go to a restaurant that specializes in a certain region or type of food. Also, they will automatically add 20% tip on your overall bill.

This place has been on my list for so long since they have unique menu offerings. However, once we were presented with the food, the portion size was disappointing. I ordered the duck & pandan waffles and wings & Chinese donuts. Both servings had very little meat on both the duck and the wings & were extremely dry. Both plates left us underwhelmed and were pretty pricey too. The experience left a bad taste in our mouth already but after only 30 minutes of eating and leaving the restaurant, I started experiencing stomach cramps and the unbearable pain lasted the whole day :( definitely got food poisoning from this place, this rarely happens when I go out to eat. We had a party to attend but I just felt sick the entire time which I did not expect to happen. We were also auto charged 20% gratuity even though it was only the 2 of us. That's ridiculous considering the abysmal food and the fact that it made us sick. Unfortunately, we left unsatisfied and sick. Safe to say, we won't be returning.

Come for the delicious brunch menu!! The bone broth pho is a must. It was so delicious I wish I had more room in my stomach to finish the last bits of it. So flavorful and savory. Perfect for a cold rainy day. Friend got the steak and eggs. It came out on a sizzling platter and was juicy upon cutting into it. Flavors were also delicious as well. Can't wait to try other things on the menu.

Made a reservation for 6:30 on a Friday night and were seated immediately. The inside is not huge, but the vibes are immaculate and feel super cozy. Our server was also so nice and even itemized and split the bill for us, which I always appreciate with group dinners. Also worth noting, they have a no tipping policy because there is an automatic 20% service fee, but they fully disclose that upfront so there are no surprises. I got the bone broth with noodles because the broth looked way too good to pass up, and honestly... the broth absolutely lived up to the hype. So rich, flavorful, and exactly the kind of thing I wanted to keep drinking forever. The actual noodles and beef were a little underwhelming though. At one point the noodles kind of gave instant noodle vibes, which felt like a missed opportunity because the broth deserved better. I almost wish there were different noodle options or honestly just less noodles because I mostly just wanted to sip the broth. We also tried the ube gnocchi, which sounded amazing in theory, but it ended up being a little too creamy for me and I did not get as much ube flavor as I was hoping for. The real standout besides that incredible broth was the chicken wings. So crispy, so tender, and ridiculously flavorful. Absolutely would order those again.

nasi goreng ($16) - ngl this was so simple but so fire; the fried rice was cooked to perfection; not mushy nor oily with perfectly coated sauce - the egg on top was also well done - this was a top tier nasi goreng compared to all the other ones ive had - the portion was also massive and worth the price given i still had leftovers for another meal rating: 4.5/5 - i really LOVE the execution of the dishes here and it could easily be a 5 but it was quite diabolical that they charge 20% SERVICE FEE FOR LUNCH - no tip needed but 20% for lunch is quite unreasonably steep - great hospitality and service; feels upscale but not pretentious - quick service pretty presentation - despite the service fee.... I think ill still go back because it's just so homey and simple yet delicious; i feel like it's that one place where nothing can go wrong IG: @nom.noms.only

Lovely lovely food in a warm intimate setting. I came here once a long time ago and remembered a nice hearty comfort meal in a modern atmosphere. This most recent visit, I came with my dog & toddler so the outside patio was perfect. The continuous stream of car & bus traffic drone out any excess noise my rambunctious toddler made. We ordered just a few things but everything was so good. I took a chance on the green beans and they were not disappointing. Bold in soy flavor but had a sweetness I really liked. The rendang carbonara was a creative and tasty dish but purists like my husband maybe won't appreciate it as much. My toddler DEVOURED the bone broth & noodles, and especially the beef that literally melted in the mouth. That dish is a must have every time. Looking forward to our next dinner here.

Had this bookmarked & noticed that a few Yelp Friends have left their reviews on here. It looks like that hometown feel type of shop but the experience today was NOT that. Service was polite but not quite that welcoming that you would feel at a mom n pops shop. It's too bad coz if it were, we would frequent this diner/cafe. Most places that we're regulars at, we feel valued as patrons and are welcomed like family. I find less and less places have this kind of atmosphere. We ordered breakfast staples; Hubby ordered a machaca combo with flour tortillas & black beans, I opted for the (2 large!) banana walnut pancakes combo with chicken apple sausage, potatoes & over medium eggs. Our food arrived timely, hot and good presentation. Hubby said the machaca was decent because having had his fair share of machaca, these passed. My pancakes were huge! Flavor was good, as the banana slices & walnuts were cooked in, not just placed on top like most places. Macadamias would've been a better pairing though. The chicken apple sausage was flavorful & eggs were cooked as requested. Noise level was somewhat loud with all the clanging as tables were cleaned/bussed around us. Overall a decent experience for our first time visit, as mentioned, if the service was more thoughtful & welcoming, it would've made the difference from a 3 star to perhaps a 4 or a 5 star. Food for thought.

We also had one of their Warm Butter Cake's with some excellent vanilla ice cream on top. Absolutely wonderful!. This may be our new "go-to" place. Looking forward to return to savor the other items on the menu. Their drinks looked delicious as well, so we will definitely try those too.

Made a reservation about an hour before, so when we got there we were seated immediately. After a quick glance at the drink menu, had to get the Mai Tai with lilikoi foam on top. So delicious. Had my first lilikoi foam in Maui and I love that I'm starting to see it around Los Angeles now. Adds such a punch of flavor to an after we balanced drink. For food, we started with the bacon deviled eggs and shrimp taquitos. Those deviled eggs were lightly fried, which was different, then had apple wood smoked bacon on top, just a really tasty bite. The shrimp taquitos were also not what you would expect, nice and light but still very good. Entrees we went with the center cut fillet and the prime rib dip with swiss cheese on a brioche bun. That sandwich just melts if your mouth after dipping it in the jous, and the cheese was the perfect accompiament. The fillet was cooked perfect as well, coming out medium rare. Overall, great restaurant in Pasadena. Definitely get the Mai Tai, Devine eggs and prime rib dip. Taquitos were good and, if you're feeling like another hg er appetizer, definitely a way to go . The fillet, also great but I feel you can get it anywhere.

The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which set a nice tone for the meal. I ordered the Quiche Lorraine and it was delicious, flaky, flavorful, and perfectly baked. Very disappointing experience with how we were treated…read more We went here for lunch last weekend and waited about an hour and a half for a table. When the host at the front, who was managing the waitlist, told us our table was getting cleaned, she pointed to a specific table that was being cleaned by the busboys. Shortly afterward, I saw a customer approached the staff, and they seated him at the same table we had just been told was ours. I immediately asked the manager what was going on. The manager told me that the host had "said it wrong" and that the other customer had a reservation. I understand that reservations need to be honored, but then why were we told that this particular table was ours after we had already waited 90 minutes? We had given our name, followed the waitlist process, and patiently waited. If there was a reservation for that table, the staff should have known and communicated that clearly. The next available table could have been given to the reservation party. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was the manager's attitude toward us compared with his attitude toward the other party. We had done nothing wrong. We were understandably unhappy because someone else was seated at the table we had just been promised. Since the confusion was caused by the restaurant, we would have appreciated at least a meaningful "I'm sorry." Instead, the manager seemed annoyed when speaking with us (think about a cold tone voice and side eyeing). At the same time, he was smiling and friendly toward the other party. The difference in attitude was very noticeable and left us feeling like we were not being treated fairly or equally. This was especially uncomfortable with the difference in our ethnicity and the other party. I cannot say for certain that race was the reason for what happened, but the combination of being passed over for a table we were told was ours, and then seeing the manager treat the other party so differently made it very difficult not to question. I hope the restaurant reviews how its hosts and managers handle situations like this, because customers deserve to be treated consistently and respectfully.

The Reyn is a popular breakfast spot in Pasadena and a place I still visit from time to time,…read moreusually when meeting friends or colleagues. Despite its popularity, I find the food to be fairly average. Much of it tastes like it's made from standard commercial food-service ingredients rather than prepared fresh. On the positive side, the prices are reasonable, the dining room has a pleasant atmosphere, and the staff is generally attentive. Overall, it's a decent neighborhood breakfast restaurant - nothing particularly memorable, but nothing especially disappointing either. The Reyn Special - 3/5. A classic breakfast plate with eggs, bacon, hash browns, and banana bread. The eggs and bacon are fairly average, although the bacon tends to be overcooked and dry. The standout is the hash browns. They're cooked with a nicely browned, crispy crust while still remaining fairly moist inside. The real highlight, however, is the banana bread. It tastes homemade and is easily the best item on the plate. Crepes - 1/5. This dish comes as two separate plates: one with the ricotta-filled crepes and another with eggs, sausage, bacon, and your choice of fries or tater tots. Unfortunately, the crepes are the weakest part of the meal. The ricotta-filled crepes don't taste freshly made and instead resemble a pre-made food-service product that's simply reheated before serving. Both the crepe and ricotta filling have a generic flavor with noticeable artificial notes. You can choose either banana or strawberry topping, but both sauces taste overly processed and artificial. The accompanying breakfast plate is noticeably better. I chose the tater tots, which were well prepared - crispy on the outside while remaining soft inside. The bacon, however, was again overcooked and dry, making it tough to chew. The sausage was acceptable but unremarkable. Scrambled Supreme - 2.5/5. Despite the name, this is essentially an omelet. The eggs have a mild, neutral flavor, and the fillings are okay but don't stand out. Coffee - 2/5. The coffee is classic diner coffee in every sense. It's somewhat watery, heavily roasted, and finishes with a flat, slightly bitter aftertaste. It's neither particularly good nor particularly bad - just standard coffee that does the job. Overall, The Reyn succeeds as a comfortable, affordable breakfast spot with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. While the food is average, and several dishes rely on ingredients that taste commercially prepared rather than freshly made.
