Updating my review because we came back and the quality and service are amazing if not even better. Tried coming in with a toddler and they were so accommodating. A high chairs, place mat, kid plate and utensils!!! They even gave my daughter a little probiotic drink at the end of our meal which she absolutely loved. Thanks to all the amazing employees who make this establishment stand out.

I don't think I'v had KBBQ outside of Ktown but Soh Grill proved me wrong! We came on a Saturday night and ordered the prime boneless short rib, brisket, kimchi fried rice and the soybean paste tea along with some yogurt soju. All excellent. usually prefer marinated cuts, but everything here delivered. Service was warm and attentive, and theyed cook everything for us tableside. If you want KBBQ but don't want to deal with the traffic of Ktown, Soh Grill is it. I will be a regular here!

Soh Grill House is a KBBQ restaurant in downtown Pasadena. It's a bit more upscale, and has a clean aesthetic, but still feels like a warm environment. We liked that there was good ventilation and didn't feel icky after leaving the restaurant. The waiters were really friendly and were willing to accommodate our stroller. We ordered the Lucky Split~pork belly, beef brisket, 2 tofu soups, 2 rice, 2 drinks, and ofc the appetizers. Everything was delicious and there was some leftovers between the two of us. We enjoyed not having to cook because the waiters do it for you wooo.

If you know me, you know I've made it my personal mission to highlight every go-to spot in Pasadena and this one absolutely earns its place on the list. We come here to celebrate and we come here when the craving hits and no occasion is needed. Either way, Korean food this good is always a valid reason to show up. The brisket, galbi, and bulgogi are non-negotiables and yes, they cook it right at your table on the grill, which honestly makes the whole experience. You also get Korean side dishes to snack on while everything sizzles, and I always round the table out with steamed egg, japchae, bulgogi tacos, wings, and dolsot bibimbap. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is clean, spacious, and the staff is genuinely so kind.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit.

The bulgogi was so good that we ordered a second one and easily ate all of it. The corn cheese was also hella good. I feel like the sides and prices are way better at other kbbq places though so while this was good and definitely satisfied my craving for kbbq I'd just go to ktown.

Absolutely amazing! Quality of the meat is outstanding. The dumpling soup with tofu is so good as well. Our server , Paul is so kind and helpful. New fav spot for sure!

We were greeted and sat right away with very friendly staff, and I immediately loved the modern aesthetic and cleanliness of the restaurant. This was the first time that I have had Korean BBQ where the staff cooked it vs. the guest cooking it, and it was a very nice experience. They cooked everything perfectly and so fast. The meat was tender and juice and so flavorful. I especially loved the kimchi pancake and kimchi soup! Everything was bursting with flavor and full of freshness. Each item hit the spot and overall it was a fantastic dining experience!

Our party of 4 plus our dog visited on a Saturday night with a reservation. It was all of our first time at Soh and we did not know what to expect. It's definitely not like most kbbq places where the smoke gets everywhere and you come out stinking of it. The smoke is very well controlled and the restaurant itself doesn't even smell! The meat was cooked for us at our table and it was delicious! I would most definitely return.

We went to Soh Grill House to celebrate our ten-year wedding anniversary, and it ended up being the perfect pick. Most KBBQ places we've been to are either smoky, cramped, or a little grungy--but this one was the total opposite. It's sleek, modern, and surprisingly upscale while still feeling casual and welcoming. We didn't have a reservation, but they seated us pretty quickly, which was a nice surprise. The service was top-tier, with waiters constantly checking in to make sure we were happy with everything. One of my favorite parts was that they cook the meat for you (yay not having to worry about doing that myself), and then they give it a final blast of torch to finish--such a cool touch. Everything was sizzling hot and served at just the right pace. I also loved how I didn't walk out smelling like a campfire. The bulgogi was a standout--sweet, savory, and packed with flavor. Every bite was juicy and satisfying without being overly greasy. The array of side dishes was generous and delicious. Portion sizes were just right--not so much you feel overwhelmed, but enough to leave full and happy.

Soh Grill House completely exceeded my expectations. This was honestly the best meal I've had since moving to the U.S. The flavors were incredibly well-balanced and authentic. Nothing tasted overly salty or greasy -- just clean, rich, and thoughtfully prepared. You can tell there is real attention to detail in the kitchen. The meat quality was outstanding -- tender, juicy, and grilled perfectly. The side dishes were fresh and complemented the main dishes beautifully. It felt like a satisfying, well-rounded meal rather than just dining out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service is attentive without being overwhelming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you're looking for authentic flavors and quality ingredients, this place is absolutely worth visiting. I'll definitely be back.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I walked in and found myself at the counter. I felt at ease as I was greeted by a friendly staff member. I explained that I wasn't sure what I wanted to eat and would like to have some suggestions. I needed more help than his time permitted and was then greeted by a friendly staff member/lead whose name was Tess. She was incredible! She explained all of the options for each dish once she knew what my preferences were. I knew that I wanted an appetizer, a chicken dish and a beef dish. I was interested in trying their most popular selections. She explained that a lot of people come there to have the all-you-can-eat option.I wanted a meal to go and ordered the following: LA Galbi BBQ Plate Chicken Bibimbap Vegetable Pancake I decided that I wanted them spicy but not extra spicy. I also let her know that I had no allergies to food or preparation methods. After ordering, I sat in a chair near the counter and waited for my meal to be prepared. I noticed that there were large parties eating and enjoying each other's company. Surprising because I was there in early afternoon when most places have very little business. I could see that the all you can eat options available on the menu were very popular. The staff seemed always involved in keeping everything moving efficiently. Delivering foods to be cooked, checking on the grill, clearing dishes, and keeping the tables and surrounding areas clean. The aromas throughout the restaurant were enticing. My food arrived at the front desk and I was told that they had placed the banchan-the small dishes surrounding the barbecue grill-in my to-go bag. The fragrance of fresh made food emanated as I unpacked my meal. The food was as expected -spectacular! There was kimchi, a fresh lettuce salad, chopped cabbage with spice. Each one had a special flavor and spice. There were small containers of rice that paired well as I tried each item. When I got to the main meal, I started with a couple bites of the vegetable pancake. It looked and tasted great. While there were herbs and sauces that I could have put with it the flavor was so good nothing was necessary. The chicken bowl that I ordered was moist the chicken had a special kick and the vegetables were fresh and tasty. The short ribs were my favorite. While they're not inexpensive. They are worth every penny with a great umami addicting flavor. There is plenty of parking along the side streets or in front. It's nice that they not only have inside seating but a patio available outside the back area of the restaurant. Excellent food! Excellent service! Friendly staff! Everything that you could want when you go to enjoy your meal.

Didn't even notice the gold rolex I'm wearing and here accusing us of potentially stealing meat from a $49.99 buffet. My Gucci hat is more than he can make a day! Then we ordered the drinks, he screwed that up too. One drink never came. And then he came back one time with an attitude tone- what do you want next (for your BBQ)? Mind you, were paying $49 each and he only previously brought 3 items that skinnier than your dryer sheets meat. And Dude, it's an all you can eat - what is the problem? The guy never came back so we asked another Korean dude that was very nice. And the non-Korean folks there are absolutely amazing including the one woman thats there - cheerful and super kind. I never had this horrible service before and this skinny Korean guy probably only gives poor service to women. Such a skinny dude that's so unhappy and takes out his bad attitude to customers. He probably wont be giving this attitude to my police officer bro thats 6 ft 4. Since we're not coming back, buyer beware and if i were you i will go somewhere else with better service and will treat women with respect and not accuse you of scamming them with Korean BBQ! Tired of this people that are customer facing but cant deal with human beings. They cant smile or be grateful that customers go visit their restaurant. Go away and work where you don't see people so you can be happy! Don't spoil people's meal especially when the bill is over $100 for lunch!!! Youre not paying us to be there, were paying you!!!

The best item was the carpaccio (you can only have one order). The skewers were mostly a miss as they were dry, the pork skewers were probably the best made as it was fresh and juicy. It seemed that the beef and lamb skewer were sitting for a while and just heated up. The steamed egg was clearly microwaved from the texture. Some of the fried items like the Takoyaki, siomai, and Tempura tasted like it was bought premade (frozen) and deep fried. The roll items we got were decent but a little misleading because hand roll were pictured on their menu but they were sushi rolls . Most items were on paper plates which I found a little odd for a dine in restaurant. The food definitely took a while especially the skewers. Our last order of skewers we had to ask twice because it got lost in the mix. Over all it felt like a below mediocre buffet experience. I hope they improve the quality of food and the timing of food. For the price we paid for, I would have rather gone to AYCE hotpot or kbbq.

It's been a few years since my last visit, and they did a complete remodel. The restaurant looks completely different now with a clean, modern look that feels much more updated than before. While the service could use some improvement, the food was definitely the highlight of the meal. We ordered the galbi and seafood tofu soup combo, the bulgogi and seafood tofu soup combo, and the new cold noodle. The galbi came with six pieces and was cooked perfectly. It was tender, flavorful, and paired well with the seafood tofu soup. The combo also came with four banchan: bean sprouts with sesame oil, kimchi cucumber, kimchi, and seaweed. Everything was fresh and complemented the meal nicely. The bulgogi and seafood tofu soup combo was just as satisfying. The bulgogi was well seasoned, and the tofu soup had plenty of seafood with a rich, comforting broth. We also tried the new cold noodle, which came in an icy chicken broth with shredded chicken and buckwheat noodles. The owner recommended adding a little vinegar, and it completely brought the dish together. It added just the right amount of brightness, and the broth became incredibly refreshing. It ended up being one of my favorite dishes of the meal. The food here is honestly the reason to visit. It's very close to the quality you would find in Koreatown, but without having to deal with the headache of Koreatown parking. That's a huge plus if you're in the SGV. The ambiance is modern, clean, and comfortable. Even during our visit, it wasn't overly loud, and we were able to have a normal conversation throughout the meal. Service was just okay. The staff seemed overworked, and it looked like they could have used more help. The one server who came around to refill our banchan was incredibly sweet and friendly, and we really appreciated her attentiveness. Unfortunately, everyone else, including the owners, came across as a bit short with customers and not particularly welcoming. It didn't ruin the meal, but it was noticeable. Parking was easy thanks to the large free parking lot shared with the other restaurants and 168 Market, making it much more convenient than trying to find parking in Koreatown. Overall, I'd come back for the food. If you're looking for solid Korean comfort food in the SGV without making the drive to K-town, Young Dong Tofu House is definitely worth checking out. The remodel gave the restaurant a fresh new look, and hopefully as they settle in and add more staff, the service experience will improve because the kitchen is already doing a great job.
