Super accommodating spot, we had a group of 12 on a Thursday night. Some of us visiting from out of town, and we had Bianca as our server! Very attentive and accommodating to our group. There's a lot of space and seating; as you go in more toward the bathroom there's a bar to the left. It's great for small or big groups. We ordered a lot of items like clam soup, fishcake soup, pork belly, fried chicken gizzard chicken wings, ddeokbokki, kimchi pancake... A LOT; luckily we can order it on the little tablet at your table without having to flag a staff down multiple times. Super easy! Bianca brought our dishes out pretty quickly (since we ordered it kind of sporadically) and all the items were delicious! Our top favorite was the fried chicken gizzard, had a good crunchy coating and the fried onions were also so good together. The cocktails were pretty good, not overly sweet. One of the highballs was really good, I forgot the name but I tasted cranberry juice in it. Such a fun time, Bianca checked in on us multiple times, brought us water and kept everything orderly, and we mentioned it was 4 of our birthdays and she even brought out some sweet treats and sparkler candles! Super sweet, many thanks to her! Also Urban Pocha has a little spin the wheel game and Bianca brought that out for us to see what we'd win! Definitely coming back to this spot.

Urban Pocha is a chill spot for afternoon or late night drinks; their selections will likely include just what you're looking for if it's within the realm of Korean pub. On my most recent visit, my friends and I shared a Kloud with fries and bulgogi cream rissoto. Service was alright, though definitely on the slower end. Ordering is via self-service kiosk at the table, but paying is with the server. Our food came out rather quickly, and everything is fairly consistent. The food is generally overflavored in salt and sugar, but it tasted good otherwise. Overall, a decent spot to visit if Pasadena is your group's main gathering point.

What a hidden gem in Old Town Pasadena! It was a Saturday night and it was not busy near the beginning of evening time. I love the vibes in here as it really reminded me of an actual pocha. There's even a photobooth! It's a great place just to hang out and catch up with friends. The price was reasonable as the portion of the bossam filled 2 people up. It was fresh. I especially liked the radish. The pork belly was cooked to perfection. I like how they have a device to help order. There's a parking structure across the street too :)

It's a cute little place, but places in KTown are significantly better so not worth to come here imo. The corn cheese was fine, but the cheese layer on top was just the hard mound of cheese after a few min. The lychee martinis were so unbelievably small... but whatever. The spicy chicken was good, but the buckwheat noodles were very cold, which was kinda making the chicken cold too. The tteokbokki could've been way better, it just was not that flavorful? My friend got the bulgogi risotto though and that was pretty solid.

Came here Friday night hoping to catch the Milan Winter Olympics but got k-pop videos instead. Oh well, let's just focus on the food, which is a solid 3-star for Korean comfort food (Yelp says "OK" but 3 stars means "Good" in my book) The 'Urban wings' have too much thick batter and grease; the squid cold noodle has very little squid in it, and the sauce is quite bland (my Korean friend could not quite put her finger on it but said it's "definitely missing something"). The seafood pancake, while looking nothing like the picture on the menu, was excellent (4 stars). Very nice staff doing their best to accommodate. Would I come back? Yes during Dodgers season.

Loved their tteokbokki and friend chicken. The tteokboki was the right amount of spicy that we were looking for and the chicken was dripping in honey and super crispy. The kimchi pancake was disappointing- seemed undercooked as it was soggy and fell apart as soon as I tried to pick up a piece. It's the typical vibe of a pocha - casual eats and drinks.

We absolutely looooooove this place And Olivia is the most sweetest genuine person we have ever had a pleasure of meeting. She's one of the newest bartenders here at least for us because we haven't been here in a while but when we come back, just see her we absolutely love her to death. You guys have a gem on your hands. The food is amazing. You cannot go wrong with anything here, but Bulgogi risotto is our favorite garlic, chicken wings. The chicken is amazing fried chicken. We love it and they have a good happy hour as well. Don't forget to ask for a snow coat on top of your beer.

Finally made it to Urban Pocha and honestly Pasadena needed a spot like this. Has that lively Korean pocha energy without feeling overly forced or trendy. Great late night atmosphere with good music and solid food across the board. Standouts for me were the fried chicken gizzard and pork jowl w/ shishito. The gizzard was super crispy and addicting, while the pork jowl had a great smoky flavor and went perfect with drinks. The budae jjigae also hit the spot -- rich, comforting, and loaded. Really liked the crispy corn pancake too. Crunchy edges with that sweet-savory combo done right. The Urban Honey Garlic Chicken was an easy crowd favorite at the table. Also gotta mention the matcha makgeolli which was surprisingly good. Creamy, lightly sweet, and actually paired well with the food. Overall one of the more fun food spots in Pasadena right now and definitely somewhere I'd come back with friends.

Urban Pocha is one of those places that reminds you why small, owner run spots can be so special. From the moment we walked in, there was a genuine warmth that set the tone for the whole meal. The kimchi fried rice was excellent. It had real depth of flavor with the right balance of tang, spice, and richness. Each bite felt intentional, from the way the kimchi was cooked down to how the rice stayed fluffy without being dry. The portion was generous without being overwhelming, and it tasted like something made with care rather than rushed out of the kitchen. Service is what really elevated the experience. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, checking in on us and making sure everything was perfect without hovering. It felt personal in the best way, like they truly cared that you were there and enjoying the food. That kind of hospitality is rare and makes a lasting impression. The ambience matched the food and service well. It's cozy and lively, with a relaxed energy that makes you want to settle in and enjoy your time. Whether you're there for a casual meal or hanging out with friends, the space feels comfortable and inviting. Urban Pocha delivers on all fronts. Great food, heartfelt service, and an atmosphere that feels authentic. This is an easy five stars and a place I'll happily return to.

Great spot for Korean comfort food in Pasadena! We ordered japchae, tteokbokki, galbi, kimchi fried rice, honey garlic chicken, and spicy chicken, everything was flavorful, well-seasoned, and generous in portions. Service was fantastic, our server was on point and kept the Diet Cokes coming without us asking. The space is big, has a projector and multiple TVs for watching sports, and parking is super convenient right next door (paid lot). Definitely a new go-to for casual eats and hanging out with friends.

came here last night for NYE with my friends and was so shocked at how spacious it was inside! perfect place to come hangout and get a drink with friends. the food was great. my favorite dish would have to be the corn pancake. i never had a corn pancake prior to going here, so i kept wanting to have more of it! i also enjoyed the chicken - was so so crispy i loved it. the service was amazing! staff was friendly and welcoming. they gave us a free drink in honor of NYE which was so sweet of them! highly recommend everyone to come here if you're in the pasadena area!

Came back again for a reunion happy hour. Service was on point since we had a separate section from the restaurant out in the back. Can't go wrong with the Bossam, Short ribs and spicey rice cake. I think we order a lot and still couldn't finish. Drinks are okay but I cut out the alcohol so the mocktails people comment said it was delicious. Ambiance is like a typical pocha. Well lit and easy to find. Great for big groups.

Kimchi fried rice, mandu (dumplings), sundubu jjigae with beef (perfect spice level)

Stopped in for lunch on Monday. Good ambiance, good customer service. We had kimchi fried rice with spam, mandu, sundubu jjigae with beef. These 3 items were more than enough to feed 2 people. Everything was delicious. 10/10 recommend and will return whenever I'm craving Korean food.

First off, I have to praise 1933 group because I have loved every single bar they have revitalized and this one is no different. In keeping with their MO, The Lucky Tiki is a speakeasy with a vintage vibe. I won't give away how to get in but let's just say, it's near the front of Highland Park Bowl. My husband and I didn't have a reservation, but we were able to put our name in and got seated about an hour or so later. I was amazed as soon as I walked in the door! It's just floor to ceiling decorated with everything tiki. So many fun details and even interactive elements that turn on when a particular drink was ordered. That was probably my favorite part honestly. We ordered the Tiki Diablo, which is a large tiki drink with a flaming volcano. And yes it does have an interactive element. It was really good. Very fruity and strong, but not overly so. Service was excellent. Our waitress was on it and even waited to make sure my husband was back from the bathroom before lighting our drink on fire. We didn't try any food this time, but a lot of people were ordering the Hawaiian pizza. Do with that what you may. Will definitely be back ti try more drinks and food. How about instead of accepting $$$ for a private event that will deny customers their reservation, they make the private event work around what is available? I'm a second-generation Irish-American from New York, and St. Patrick's Day has always meant something in my family. Growing up it was about heritage, family, and a little joy. Now that I have two daughters of my own -- very Irish-looking girls who are proud of their roots -- I wanted them to experience some of that same Irish pub spirit. So on St. Patrick's Day 2025, I took them to Griffin's of Kinsale in South Pasadena. They were so excited to be there -- the decorations, the music, the feeling of a real Irish pub. For a moment I thought, this is going to be a great memory for them. We came early because it was a school night. The restaurant was busy -- which is understandable on St. Patrick's Day. I ordered three salmon dinners for my daughters and myself. The bill came to about $150. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. Over an hour and a half. During that entire time: * No one warned us the kitchen was backed up when we ordered. * No one checked on our table. * No updates. * No communication at all. Had someone simply said "Just so you know, food may take an hour or more tonight," I could have made a different decision -- especially with two kids who had school the next morning. Instead we sat downstairs watching the clock while the evening disappeared. By the end of the night my daughters -- who had been so excited walking in -- were tired, hungry, and miserable. When I asked to speak with a manager, no one came. No explanation. No apology. Restaurants get slammed on holidays. Kitchens fall behind. That happens. But ignoring a table for 90 minutes -- especially a family with children -- isn't a busy night. It's bad management. What should have been a fun St. Patrick's Day memory for my daughters turned into a long, uncomfortable evening where we felt completely invisible. For a place that trades so heavily on Irish identity and hospitality, this was about as far from hospitality as you can get. Save your $150 and celebrate St. Patrick's Day somewhere that actually wants you there. And if management would like to explain how a family ends up waiting 90 minutes with no communication, I'd genuinely be interested to hear it.

Had a dinner reservation with some girlfriends celebrating two of their birthdays. The restaurant itself isn't too big but it does a pack a nice punch. Cute patio out front that takes some of the sidewalks and streets. Plenty of heat lamps which helped with the chilly nights. We got seated at one of the tables on the patios which was nice. Didn't really utilize inside area except for the restroom which it's quite cute in there. The rooms were pretty well decorated and executed. Nice bar area too. Like mentioned, we got seated on the patio and the heat lamps were great. Down to the menus, it's quite limited on dishes. Seemed like there were more shared plates versus the entrees. Drinks, it was fairly decent with their cocktails and wine. Service at the beginning was great. The staff were amazing and very friendly. We didn't order right away as we were still waiting for the last one to show. But did start off with some drinks. It didn't take that long for the first round which was nice. Food wise, the shared plate was a mixture of everything. Some of the olives, which is exactly what it is. The Belgian fries, nice thick cut fries with shredded pecorino cheese and a nice aioli sauce. We ended up getting a second order of it. The albacore tuna crudo was a hit which was really tasty. Chili ginger relish, mint and shallot, can't go wrong with that. Lastly the meatballs, tasty and very great for sharing. Entrees, the pan seared sea bass which I loved. Portion is pretty tiny which also seemed like they were a shared plate. Almost tapas styled. Nice chimichurri sauce and a side salad. The chicken Milanese also with a side salad of arugula. Simple dish but quite tasty. One of the salads that was somewhat hyped up by the waitress but it was just a salad. Decent but nothing major to rave about...lol... also the confit oyster mushrooms was major hit. Something that simple but quite tasty. And lastly the pan con tomate, rustic sourdough with tomatoes and burrata. Tasty as well. Overall the meal was good. From there, the second round of drinks did take a long time to arrive and with then plates that we shared, trying to get someone to clear the plates was another thing. Took a long for someone to clear the table before more items came. Even when the entrees came, all the empty starter plates were still there. And if someone did clear the plates, some was still left on the table. Finishing off the night, we did have the dessert which we tried all three. As it was two of our girlfriends birthday, they brought out a little bubbly for us to celebrate with the dessert. That was quite sweet and nice. Honestly opinion with the dessert, they were just ok. Nothing major to rave about. We tried all three on the menu and they were just ok. Overall, the food was great. Service was nice and the staffs were all very friendly. It did take a while for plates to get cleared from the table and second round did take a while, but it was manageable. It was a sweet gesture with the bubbly with the dessert which was greatly appreciated. The place is nice and great for catching up. Menu is limited and portions are quite small. You would have to get a good amount for sharing. Entrees, depending on what you order is small as well. But we enjoyed ourself.

Honestly, for me it tastes just as bitter as a Manhattan, probably because both cocktails incorporate sweet vermouth. 3 stars for the poor customer service and wait time for standing in line to order drinks. There were 2 or 3 bartenders and they were rushing but also seemed like they weren't efficiently helping customers with drinks in a timely manner. The lounge area was meh (super limited seat spots) and the vibes were bland despite coming here on New Year's Eve. Definitely an older demographic that frequents this bar, not that it's a bad thing, just not our vibe since it would've been more fun if there other people closer to our age, so we decided to bar hop elsewhere after.

Parking is pretty easy because there is a parking lot that is free right around the corner. I believe it's Mentor -- or if you just drive a block or two away there's free residential parking. It's hit or miss if you find parking on Mission. But the Mission District of South Pasadena is historic and fun to walk around. The staff was incredibly attentive and you could tell very committed to their food and wine program. The patio outside really nice. We were able to walk in at 5:30 and eat at the bar-- and they could not have been more accommodating, even though we did not have reservations. Sitting at the bar given that it's an open kitchen we could see the commitment to made to order food and it's the type of place that if anyone did have an issue with their meal, I am sure they would rectify it. They let me try sips of the wine before I bought a glass. And the front of the house was very warm. We live in the Garvanza area of NE Los Angeles and we will definitely be back.
