Eye-rolling good chicken with limitless Peruvian sauces? Check. Perfect Peruvian beans? Check. Yucca Fries? Check! Plus bonus incredible sandwiches that may have overshadowed the chicken with layers of flavor and perfect crusty bread. Worth the drive, worth the absolutely insane and lawless parking lot, worth the crowded front door that's impossible to navigate because everyone is hungry and hypnotized by chicken aromas.
Super juicy, super tasty chicken! They feature wood-fired Peruvian chicken cooked with an awesome spice blend. They have two dipping sauces, watch out for the green one - it's tasty but has a real kick to it! We tried a few of the side dishes - garlic fries (especially yummy with the light dipping sauce!), cucumber salad, cole slaw and black bean-quinoa salad. All of them were very tasty. All the salads tasted very refreshing. The personnel were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean aesthetically pleasing. We took our food to go but there is a limited amount of indoor seating and a cute outdoor seating area.
Best pollo a la brasa I've ever had!!! I came for a quick lunch before my haircut. I ordered a 1/4 chicken with garlic fries and rice. They didn't ask me if I wanted dark or white meat and automatically gave me white. I would've preferred dark meat but let me tell you.. it was the juiciest white meat I've ever had. The flavor on the skin was soooo good. The garlic fries could've used more garlic flavor but for a normal fry, it was perfect.. crispy and potato-y. The rice was a little on the harder side. They have sauce bottles on each table (or I think you grab it from the fridges). Both sauces were very good. The place only has a small seating area but there's a good flow of people coming and leaving. You also order at the counter and they call out your name. Food comes out very quickly. The parking lot is tough. There's a few spots but a lot of cars were double parked.
Being a Pasadena local for 4 years, I did not know about this place (literally in my backyard) until very recently. Having visited Peru, I am naturally drawn to all things Peruvian and this little no-name Peruvian chicken shop / convenience store must be one of Pasadena's best kept secrets. Their bottled chicha morada (5 stars) tastes just like what I had in Peru (better than Bodegon No.69 in Old Town). Their chicken (3 stars), as others have noted, is extremely salty. For $24 whole chicken (a' la carte) I expected better. Dipping in the sauces helps to balance out the sodium (1 sweet and tangy, 1 very spicy green chili) but a well-roasted chicken does not need any sauce. I plan to check out another Peruvian place in Pasadena (El Dorado Pollos A La Brasa) and write a comparison update.
There's a certain charm to a dinery with no signage, kinda like walking into someone's home that happens to house large rotisserie ovens. The bright lights and colors along with the wonderful smells of roasted poultry...it's like the warmth and affection of a friendly hug. Music was playing a mix of Pitbull songs that evening, and the line had a good number of folks. A single unisex restroom was located outside around the corner, protected by a keypad lock. As recommended by my friend, I went with the half chicken to guarantee satiety, with my two sides being the white rice and house salad. Although we were eating in, the only utensils available were takeout plastic ones. I have to say, I had a great time eating that half chicken, practically inhaling it out of my hands. Very flavorful and succulent when hot and fresh. Although it was finger lickin' good, some self-control was in place. The white rice was okay, though it was a bit dry, and the salad tasted plain. The solution was submerging the two with aji verde. Wouldn't mind returning for more chicken or perhaps try their sandwiches.
Been wanting to check this place out for a while so when my friend wanted to meet up I suggested this place. Rosette and I both got the 1/4 chicken meal which comes with two sides for $14. I got dark meat as I often find white meat dry. She got white and said it was very juicy. Which was also the case with dark. We both alls got garlic fries as our sides. While good it wasn't very garlicky. I had the plantains as well. She had this black beans and quinoa salad which she said was more black beans. We both enjoyed it. I also had their black berry juice.
Great Chicken & Definitely Worth the Wait Tried Loli Farm and ordered the whole chicken meal, which comes with three sides and a 2-liter soda. We went with the garlic fries, white rice, and coleslaw. The chicken was delicious, nicely charred on the outside, juicy, and full of flavor. The garlic fries were especially good and they definitely don't skimp on the portion. Everything together was plenty of food to share. The staff was super friendly, which made the experience even better. There was a pretty long line to get our food, so be prepared to wait a little, but at least for us, the food was worth it. Definitely a spot I'd come back to when craving some good rotisserie chicken!
Loli Farms is my kind of place. At this former gas station, you can try their amazing pollo a la brasa (Peruvian rotisserie chicken) and a mini market selling Peruvian goods on the side. The laid back atmosphere includes a large open space inside with communal tables and a covered patio outside. Pollo A La Brasa: The pricing for upgrading from the quarter to the half to the whole is tempting. Why not get a half or even a whole? I'm happy with a quarter. The giant metal tray contains a thigh and drumstick in a pool of juices. The rotisserie oven has infused the meat with the smoke from three types of wood. A marinade of garlic, paprika, cumin, and other herbs provides a burst of flavor to the juicy and tender chicken. Grab some squeeze bottles of the aji verde and aji amarillo sauces from the big glass fridge in the back. I could easily drink the delicious aji verde and its cilantro, garlic, lime, mint, and mayo, but instead use it for the crispy and soft garlic fries. Some of the aji amarillo goes well in the bowl of creamy and plump canary beans. Parking: There's a chaotic lot with a few spaces next to Pie 'n Burger, but it's probably easier to park out front on California.
Bomb chicken!! We absolutely would have devoured this chicken plate if it wasn't so massive. It was so flavorful, perfectly juicy, and paired so well with the sides. You get to choose from about 10 different sides, but the plantains were an absolute must, seriously! And don't skip the complimentary spicy Aji green sauce. If it's not already on your table, check the fridge and grab a bottle. It takes everything to the next level. They also have a great variety of drinks. We loved the mango drink and poured it over ice, very refreshing. Just a heads up, the water station, plates, and utensils are self serve. We'll be trying the big bottle of red soda that everyone seems to get next time. Their lomos and other dishes are always good too! We've always loved loli farms but will definitely be back to try more of the sides and desserts
3.6 stars Another one of my bookmarked restaurants tried! I know absolutely nothing about Peruvian food and think this restaurant is a very good gateway restaurant for people like me because who isn't familiar with chicken, salads, and fries, right? We got the Whole Chicken w/ 2 sides ($30). The chicken was juicy and tender. Spice and taste-wise, I don't know if there is any spice that make me think, "oh this is Peruvian rostisserie chicken!". It's just like any other rotisserie chicken. For the sides, we got cole slaw and sweet potato fries. Sweet potato fries were stellar! The cole slaw was bland and watery, but it actually went well with the well-seasoned chicken. And the good news is the food comes out within 3-5 minutes after paying and grabbing utensils. There were a some minor inconveniences that I just couldn't not notice. Parking is free, but it is limited to about 6-8 spots. I had to park a couple blocks down. There are plenty of seating, but the place gets packed. There was a line out the door, which is great for business, but the AC just wasn't cooling the restaurant enough because the door is wide open. I was sweating the whole time I was eating, which is kinda gross to me. The beverage fridge was far from the register and I think some people do get confused as to whether the beverages are free. The guy at the counter was also taking phone calls after every customer's order. Again, great for business, but it definitely slows the line down. Overall, I think the food is good, but everything else just makes it too uncomfortable on hot days.
A whole chicken ($30, including 2 sides) is the perfect amount to feed two people. The chicken was FANTASTIC; the skin was so flavorful and the chicken itself was so juicy. I also loved the fried plantains!! Plenty of seating indoor and outdoors. Don't be intimidated by the line, it goes by quite quickly!
My friend and I recently tried this place after spending the afternoon at Huntington Gardens. It was a hot day and we were definitely ready for a light dinner. This location was difficult to find because there isn't a noticeable sign out front. My GPS told me I arrived, but I thought it was wrong. It is adjacent to a gas station. and just not somewhere I would notice easily. The inside is nice and clean and had quite a few customers. It is also a deli and market. The beverages as well as all kinds of cooked and packaged snack snacks are scattered throughout the room. This business has high reviews on Yelp, which is why we chose it. I ordered one of the most basic roast chicken dishes. The chicken was definitely tender and appeared very high-quality as it was not huge pieces. But my chicken was pink in some areas - not cooked enough for my comfort level. The skin was soft. I'm not sure if that is a cultural difference, but I have not had roast chicken without crispy skin even at other Peruvian establishments. The seasoning, however, was very good and the sauces were also delicious. I got the cucumber tomato salad on the side, which tasted fantastic with the green sauce added in. The garlic fries were also on the limp side for me. I don't know again if that is a cultural difference . I felt like it needed a second fry. I did enjoy the garlic and herb sprinkled on the fries and took them home to air fry them to make them crispier. I am not sure if it was an off day for us. My friend had similar feedback on her dish. We both ordered the same thing except she ordered the white meat and I ordered the dark meat. Like I said, I'm definitely in the minority of not liking it that much. I have some favorites in the area for grilled chicken and would probably opt for those.
First time visiting, great food & drinks, affordable prices & quick service. There's a small parking lot or street parking with indoor & outdoor seating. We got the family style whole chicken which comes with 3 sides and a drink (Big 2 liter Inca cola or 2 soda cans). The family meal can feed 3-4 people and cost $45. The rotisserie chicken was tender & flavorful. We also enjoyed the plantains, sweet potato fries, fried yucca & cucumber salad. There's free sauces you can grab in the fridge & they also have delicious house made drinks like Peruvian herb, blackberry agua fresca & passionfruit agua fresca. We arrived on a Saturday at 7p, thankfully we didn't have to wait & ordered right away. We had a great experience & will definitely return!

Such a gem of a place in Pasadena if you're in the mood for Peruvian food or just good food in general. Situated in the corner of California and Lake, parking can be quite difficult especially at lunch or dinner hours. Plan accordingly because it can get quite busy around prime dining hours. They specialize in pollo la brasa, Peruvian roast chicken and it's truly delicious. You have the choice of 1/4, 1/2 and whole chicken meals which comes with 2 sides. There are also family meals for larger parties as well. Indoor seating is on the smaller side so it does get filled fast. Inside they also sell Peruvian snacks and drinks, has a small market type of feel. Plenty of outdoor seating as well. Chicken is super flavorful, juicy and delicious. Do get extra sauces because it is delicious. I like the yellow more than the green. Green has a good spice as well. Plantains, sweet potato fries are my favorite sides so far. Can't want to come back to try some more of the menu. read more

Small place. Can park in the small lot but snag it first before the crowd fills up. I got there 1/2 Hour closing so things were quick. I order the sanguish of steak with fries for take out. Portions are really big for 16$. Sauce is truly Peruvian. I should have ask for more. It took about 10 minutes to make from the kitchen. Fast and quick. The portions for chicken looks amazing but sadly I am allergic to chicken so opt for the steak. Come for the quick fix read more

We love Peruvian pollo ala brasa. I've had it all over LA and this one is by far one of the best ones. The chicken is so flavorful and juicy. I am not a fan of white meat. I am a dark meat only kind of gal. But let me tell you something: the white meat at this restaurant is phenomenal. So full of flavor and so moist. The reason why I only gave them 4 stars is mainly due to the lettuce I was served. My lettuce was wilted and honestly I'd consider it spoiled. Had to throw all of it away. Honestly both the lettuce and the dressing weren't good. I'd stick to the rice and fries next time. The amount of rice you get is also quite small but the amount of fries you get is pretty decent. read more

Can't believe we didn't come here sooner! Loli is located in a no name store but the line was out the door when we went around 7pm on a Friday night. The seating inside is limited but there's a nice patio that has a couple more seats. For two people we ordered half a chicken and the lomo saltado sandwhich. Both were amazing quality and flavored and seasoned so well. The chicken was so juicy and tender and the sides were nice as well but nothing crazy pretty standard. Wished the garlic fries had more garlic flavor but the chicken made up for it. The lomo saltado sandwhich was also pretty good and came with a sauce on the side for dipping which made it super flavorful! I would love if I could just order the lomo saltado on the side with no bread. The standout of this place is really how flavorful the chicken is. They have a aji verde and garlic sauce for grabs that were delicious. Nothing special about the staff, they are pretty busy and just doing their job. Would definitely come back for the chicken! read more

I finally stopped by Loli Farms last night. I used to go to Eagle Rock for my Pollos à la brasa fix. It is wonderful having a near-by spot that serves terrific pollos à la brasa. There is a nice outdoor patio to dine. The interior is spacious and clean. They had fans and the A/C running to help keep us all cool on such a hot night. The staff were diverse and very friendly. I truly appreciate such attentive and nice service. It goes a long way. Thank you for being so kind. We ordered the milanesa, 1/2 pollo à la brasa, fries and rice. All of the food was delicious! The pollo was succulent and delicious. My milanesa was prepared fresh, looked great, and was satisfying. I was elated when the polite young lady told me they had aji verde and crema de ajo in the squeezed bottles in the freezer. I added so much to meal! Both were delicious. The fries were freshly chopped and welcomed. The store has so many little offerings that make me happy to see. Inca Cola, miga de jamón, paneton etc. I also admired their crochet figures. As an Argentine-American this place makes me happy as I love Peruvian food and believe in solidarity! I cannot wait to try their lomito! I'll be back. read more

Loli Farms is located at 885 East California Boulevard Pasadena, California 91106. This is an extremely busy corner. The food here is well worth maneuvering this intersection of Lake Avenue and California Boulevard. I was surprised to see how many people were inside this Peruvian restaurant. As I walked, I noticed a patio section on the outside by the entrance. Once I entered there was a large counter that wrapped around to the side. There was a service counter with a staff member taking orders over the phone as well as assisting customers with ordering to-go food. Everyone inside was extremely busy. Tables nearby were filled with customers. The counter area also had Peruvian products, snacks, candies, and sauces conveniently displayed. There was a short line before I got to the counter to make my order. I was unfamiliar with the menu so I asked for some assistance as to what I should order. There were a few things that were not available on the day that I was there. But I was able to order a number of their specialties. I decided I wanted a half chicken. I was informed that Peruvian chicken has a completely different flavor and comes with a special green sauce. I ordered spicy and extra spicy. I also decided to have the garlic fries, a side salad, and their special beans. I had: -Pollo a La brasa, half chicken. -Song de Pollo -Canary beans with housemaid Aji Amarillo Paste -Garlic fries, side salad, diced cucumber salad. I had them add their special sauces for the salad dressing. And the French fries with a barbecue sauce. When my order was ready for me to take home, they double checked everything asked if I needed some extra sauce which I agreed to and I was on my way. As I left I noticed more and more people coming in as it was getting close to an early dinner time. They had been busy the entire time that I was there, about 25 minutes. The kitchen's fragrant smells permeated the entire restaurant. When I got home and unpacked my food, everything was still warm. Flavors from the food engulfed my dining/kitchen area. Everything that I ordered was exceptional! The chicken flavor was like no other chicken that I have ever experienced: moist and tender. The shredded chicken sandwich was definitely my favorite. The toasted bread was filled to capacity with shredded chicken. Green sauce was added and the flavor was complete! A great value. I enjoyed this sandwich for two meals....both hot and cold! The cucumber salad and the garlic fries were as expected, with the cucumber salad providing a bright clean flavor. I would rate Loli Farms as a great experience. I look forward to coming back and tasting some of their other flavors. This restaurant is sure to continue its excellent reputation! read more

Woah, I read some article about Loli Farms being one of the best rotisserie chickens in the city and not gonna lie, I was mildly skeptical. Have heard lots of other rotisserie chickens being touted as "one of the best" and they wind up being dry or just okay. Today, I came here on the way home to try it out and I'm so glad I did. The chicken is AMAZING--smoky, juicy, and tender without being overbrined or overcooked. Even the breast meat, after sitting in a hot container for 45 minutes, was delicious. The chicken travels well (fries do not of course) and I'm definitely getting delivery for lazy weeknight dinners. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, even when I asked about their drinks cause I couldn't find a menu for it. The passionfruit is quite tart but so flavorful! I loved the chincha morada. I'm not familiar enough with Peruvian food to speak on authenticity but this was just GOOD food. Got a side of fried plantains and garlic fries--plantains are perfectly caramelized on the outside, yummy! Garlic fries are VERY garlicky and the fries themselves are on the softer side, kind of like Wing Stop fries. This was my first time here and the parking situation was quite interesting--no parking lines, try not to block others in, a real parking free for all. There's maybe 6 tables inside and another 4-5 in a covered patio outside. read more

For two years I have driven by and wondered what thus place was. There is no visible name out front. At last, I had a day to myself and decided to stop by. To my surprise it was a cute Peruvian family owned restaurant! Tried some of their dishes and they were good. The yucca side was a bit overpriced for the size but it did have good taste. I will be back to try the rest or their dishes. read more
I'm usually in California at least 2+ times a week as it's my regular route into the office. This building was formerly a mini mart and sat vacant for quite some time. Then remodeling took place and Loli Farms was born. Took us a while before we walked in to try as we had no idea what they served until it popped up as a recommendation. Have never had Peruvian rotisserie chicken until the day we tried it. The chicken was moist and certain parts of it were very well seasoned (a bit too much on the wings). The portion was more than enough for my wife to share plus enough for a chicken salad the next day (we ordered a whole chicken). Sauces that were provided were both tasty but I did prefer the green. Wasn't a huge fan of the fried yucca as certain pieces were tough. The fried plantains were good but wished it was a tad bit sweeter. Would head back as the food was good but would elect for different sides. read more
Loli Farms is a Peruvian restaurant that also sells a little kitchen staples, snacks and drinks. There is no signage at all so if it's your first time, use GPS. There's a small parking lot but can fill up quickly. There's also street parking. They've been here for about a year and is the more casual sister restaurant of Bodegón No.69, also in Pasadena about 10 minutes away. Once inside, grab a menu or look on the monitor to decide. Paper menu is better because the monitor has a glare and rotates the images often. Everything is self service. Order and pick up at the counter. Self service sauces or drinks in the large cooler towards the back, and even bus your own tables. Seating is first come, first serve. Even though there is also outdoor seating, it can all fill up at times. They're known for their roasted chicken, so that's what we ordered. A whole chicken with two sides: mashed potatoes that has the roasted chicken drippings poured over it and plantains. The chicken was full of flavor, juicy and worked great with the green sauce. We also got the Salchipapas, which is basically french fries sliced sausage covered with various sauces. It's not bad, but not great and feels like something I can make at home. But the highlight is no doubt the chicken. There wasn't much service, but the interaction with the staff was pleasant. They all seem very nice with a friendly smiles. Tip: many people grabbed a 2 L bottle of the Inca cola from the cooler. It's a Peruvian soda and for someone who does not drink sodas, this is pretty damn good if you like it these can also be found in Mexican markets probably for a cheaper price. All of the snacks or kitchen staples sold here do not have a price listed. So you can either ask or be a Baller and just buy it. The consensus is accurate. Their chicken is awesome. A 4 1/2 star rounded up to 5. read more
Background On Visit: Long story short, I mistaken this place for Pie and Burger. We were standing in line for about 10 minutes before I asked the couple ahead of us how the food was and what would they recommend. The wife told us that the rotisserie chicken was very good and that we should get the fried yuca frita and the coleslaw. After listening to her, we realized that we went to the wrong place. After waiting that long, we felt committed and decided to patronize the shop. Credit Cards: They're accepted. Restroom: There's no restroom Wait Time: Wait can be long. Took about 45 minutes to get inside to order, find a seat, and receive our food. Location/Parking: Located on the NE corner of. Parking can be found in the shared parking lot with Pie and Burger. You can also park along California Blvd. or on S. Lake Ave.. Ambiance/Decor: It was kinda chaotic, but get's alright after you find a table to enjoy your food. Tables are communal so you'll be sitting with other people that you don't know. There's also a outdoor patio, but there's more seating than tables. Service: Not much service, but staffer behind the register was nice and patient. Food took a while, but it was acceptable due to how busy it was. Food Of Choice: Decided on the 1/2 Chicken Pollo A La Brasa, which was quite moist and tender even though the skin was pretty salty. It also came with your choice of two sides (mashpotatoes, yucca frita, white rice, platino frito, canary beans, cole slaw, garlic fries, and sweet potato). Decided on the garlic fries and yucca frita (fried cassava). The sides were very good and I really had a fun time dipping/dunking them in the cilantro and aji verde sauce. :) Loli Farms For Thought: I wouldn't mind coming back to eat more chicken. I'll consider ordering to go next time. read more

Finally tried Loli Farms after seeing it on Instagram, and it's such a cute little place! The inside is very warm and welcoming, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. We got the chicken sandwich and the 1/4 chicken. The chicken sandwich is loaded with a lot of meat and very filling. The 1/4 chicken is seasoned very well, and I also really liked the plantains. You can find green sauce and white sauce in the fridges on the side too. Overall, very tasty! Note that parking might be difficult, though you can park in front of the store on the driveway/lot. Also, the bathroom is outside and needs a code. read more

Overrated. Overpriced. The Mashed Potatoes are exactly the same as the ones you get in frozen TV dinners or your elementary school cafeteria, which is insane. The chicken is salty and the center of it is undercooked, evidenced by the red blood by the bone. Overall, portions were small and flavors were unremarkable. read more
Time and time again, Loli Farms delivers. I ordered takeout and everything was perfect!! For sharing size, I usually go for the half or whole sized chicken. My go-to sides are the fried plantain, Cole slaw, garlic fries, yucca and sweet potato fries. You literally can not go wrong with Loli Farms. The staff are kind and sweet, and the restaurants offers casual indoor and outdoor patio seating. read more

Chicken is juicy, flavorful without being too salty, and slightly smoky. The yucca frita had the best crunchy exterior and soft interior - better for me than the garlic fries. I wanted the chicken to be smokier and for their green sauce to be more pungent and creamy. This is definitely a cute place for lunch. read more

My friends and I decided on meeting up for dinner and we chose this spot. It is almost cafeteria set up as far as seating. It smells delicious when walking in. I ordered the salchipapas that had the combination of beef and pork sausage and it had their secret sauce, mustard, and ketchup. I can tell when sausages are not fresh because I usually get sick. I was totally fine and it had the snap. It was a great order to finish off the day. My friends got the chicken dinner and pork sandwich and we all finished out food. It was a good meal to catch up on life. The cashiers were super friendly and quick to clean up as well. It is a very clean space and I would definitely want to come back. You should definitely give it a try. read more
I remembered when Loli Farms first opened. I walked in to learn about the restaurant after dining at Pie n Burger. The two restaurants are next to each other. That was about 8 months ago. Recently after a visit to Pie n Burger, my wife and I walked into Loli Farms to check out the business. It looked inviting and the aroma of rotisserie chicken was enticing. It wasn't crowded which didn't affect me one way or another. Today we were headed for Pie n Burger but as we walked by we decided to give Loli Farms a try. We were pleasantly surprised by the crowd already dining there and we waited in line to order. I had the half chicken and my wife the quarter chicken. We both chose white rice and canary beans for our sides. Luckily a table opened up and we settled in. Our food came promptly, no waiting and it was piping hot. The he beans and rice were better than I expected and a good choice. The chicken though was excellent, juicy and tender. The flavor from the spices was strong and penetrated the entire bird. We were immediately sold on this place. From the line that formed after we were seated, it's obvious that many other people in Pasadena are sold on Loli Farms. I told the young man who took our order that this was our first visit. He said the chicken is tender and you will love it. He was right. The chicken is tender and we loved it. It has to be popular due to their product and word of mouth because they don't have a sign out front. We will definitely be back and make the 20 minute drive because it's that good. read more

If you like Peruvian chicken, this is the place. Small, friendly, delicious food. Juicy juicy chicken, season extremely well, excellent sides, and good bang for your buck. $18 for my combo of 1/2 chicken with two sides. Seated and parking a little limited so plan accordingly. Nice and quaint little place. 1/2 store 1/2 diner. In my opinion better than El Dorado Pollos a La Brasa. Just missing pickled onion. read more
