Crab fried rice and pad kee mau
    Steffany W.

President Thai is a decent Thai restaurant with a variety of dishes and gets a 3.5/5 stars for me. The parking lot is one of the worst I've seen, it's really tight and hard to maneuver backwards. I luckily had people leaving when I was there but it is not recommended for large cars. Back parking is recommended to leave more easily. We had a reservation for our large party and we were sat in their small outdoor patio. It was nicely decorated with a fake plant wall but it was still nice to look at. Service was a little slow because we were in the back but the waiter's did come to us periodically in the back to check on us. There was a little miscommunication with a waiter regarding the combination of the pad kee mow but we cleared it up and resolved the issue between us fairly quickly. Just wished the menu was clearer about what the combination meant on the noodle orders so there wouldn't be this issue in the first place. The menus themselves also had a large selection of food options to choose from and we tried the pad kee mow (drunken noodles), papaya salad with fried crab, chicken skewers, and crab fried rice for the four of us (our table of the larger group). The portions were quite large and there was plenty of food. The papaya salad came out first and it was a little disappointing. The papaya tasted a little old and it could've been crunchier. The crab batter was crunchy but the innards were okay. I did like the spiciness of it but the soggy papaya was not as desirable. The pad kee mow was pretty good and the noodles were larger than I thought. I liked the variety of the vegetables and it tasted pretty good. I didn't try the chicken skewers but I heard it was not bad. We did order a bowl of white rice to pair with it and I think because we were in the back, it came out a little later that we hoped. The crab fried rice was also pretty good and there was plenty left after we ate it. I will note that the food was a little salty and quite flavorful so I did drink A LOT of water. We also got a Thai tea to share but it was way too sweet for me so I only had a sip. I wished it was 75% less sweet and more milky. The size of the drink was fairly large though. The rest of the party seemed to enjoy their meal and their papaya salad was not as old as ours. The restaurant was also accommodating of a peanut allergy of one of the group members. The food did come out late because there was a supposed error of a peanut on his pad see ew so they had to remake it. Glad they caught it and made sure the food was safe. By the end, I was too full for dessert, but my whole party enjoyed the ice cream and fried bananas. The restaurant was quite accommodating of our party and let us stay for a while to chat and talk as a whole group. We were quite loud so it was good that we were seated away from everyone else and outside. Most of the items were $20+ but it made sense considering the large portions sizes. Overall, the food was a little heavy on the flavor but tasted pretty good.

Pretty big Thai restaurant. Very busy lotsa customers fo sure! Got photos from their latest menu coz I know I was looking for veggie options for me. I got spicy fried noodles and bf got green curry shrimp. They took a li'l time to give food but it was Mother's Day and quite busy but no complaints since the food was soo good. Would definitely go there again and try more stuff.

Ambiance is amazing, food is delicious, and the workers are so kind and helpful. Portions are plentiful and wonderful. Spice is a little uneven, so if you're super specific about spice level, you can ask for hot sauces to come to your table and you can apply them yourself. Love that!! Parking is easy because of their lot. Will definitely be back!

I just love this restaurant! It is a beautiful, immersive restaurant that feels like you're stepping out of San Gabriel Valley and into Thailand. Moreover, the food is fantastic! I switched it up today and instead of getting my go to Pad Sew ew, I opted for the beef and meatball noodle soup. I already love their more traditional dishes, and the noodle soup is just as delicious. It was packed with savory flavor from the noodle to the broth. You know it's tasty when you slurp every last drop of the soup. The beef balls are especially delicious and actually reminds me of the Indonesian beef balls I grew up with. Lastly, if you love dessert or just have a sweet tooth, the Mango Sticky Rice is a must! It is my favorite dessert, and President Thai doesn't disappoint!

FOOD This place has received a lot of praise from my social network and I see why! The panang curry with beef was creamy and abundant. The rice portion was no joke; you can share this with 2-3 people, or be really full for solo. Unfortunately I was disappointed in their stuffed chicken wings (aka angel Thai wings in other places). The stuffing was mostly shredded cabbages with glass noodles. However the ones I have had elsewhere had stuffing more to my liking. This is preference and it just wasn't mine for here. PARKING There was ample parking when I arrived at 6pm. Be careful not to accidentally park next door in the residential area. VIBES/MOOD This place was seating large parties at 8:30pm! They also sing happy birthday if you bring your own cake. Very positive.

I ordered President Thai for the first time via Uber Eats and it did not disappoint. First, the portions were extremely generous. Everything was packaged nicely and stayed warm upon arrival. I ordered the orange chicken, pad Thai, crispy calamari, and for dessert the mango with sweet sticky rice. The standouts were definitely the pad Thai and orange chicken. The calamari could've been passed, not my favorite but not the worst either. The mango with sweet sticky rice was amazing, I loved the flavor profile and texture. I would recommend and order again in the future.

The tastiest Thai food in Pasadena!!! I love this place- the flavors are so delicious and every dish is filled with decadence and flavor. The presentation is also so beautiful - I love the decor and dishes that they use! The staff is super friendly and helpful :)

TLDR: consistently delivers flavorful, authentic Thai food with generous portions and friendly service. MUST TRY: Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao, parking can be tight during peak hours, papaya salad is hit or miss President Thai is one of those places I keep coming back to, and I always try to order something new each time. The food is consistently amazing with bold, authentic Thai flavors that feel well-balanced and not overdone. The Pad Thai is a must-order; it's classic, comforting, and perfectly seasoned. The Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles) has thick flat noodles, a mild hint of spice, and great flavor from Thai basil and vegetables. Portions are incredibly generous, especially for pickup. We ordered four entrees (Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao, chicken fried rice, papaya salad) plus a large shrimp tom yum soup, and it was easily enough food for four full meals. Something to note, chicken fried rice is nothing special, would try pineapple fried rice next time. Service is warm and kind, whether dining in or ordering pickup, and the restaurant itself is small, quaint, and casual. Parking is really the main downside as the lot is limited, so during busy times you'll likely need to park on the street. The tom yum soup was a bit pricey with some shrimp/mushrooms, but it was slightly bitter, possibly from the kaffir lime leaves; next time I'd try the tom yum broth option and add my own toppings at home. The papaya salad was the one disappointment. I noticed it's changed over the years and no longer has the same fresh, crunchy texture from hand-cut papaya.

The food was super delicious and the service was fast. Our server June was very friendly and helpful. The place was bright and clean. We felt at home! . The portions are good for the price. We definitely will come back here again.

My absolute favorite Thai restaurant in SGV! I love their pad Thai, tom yum, and Ong Choy. All their dishes have a lot of umami and depth of flavor. They are a bit expensive, but I do think it's worth it. The ambiance also feels authentic. The parking lot can get really crazy during their busy times. I also recommend their party trays if you're hosting a party! It's really convenient and large portion sizes.

Craving traditional Thai food, stop by President Thai to enjoy a good meal. Open everyday of the year! It wasn't as busy as we expected so we were seated immediately. If you haven't been here before, the tables are very close so they can accommodate as many people as possible. Got to try a newer menu item for dinner, Jumbo Garlic Shrimp. Plus got our favorites, Crying Tiger, Pad Thai Seafood, and Papaya Salad. Loved the garlic shrimp! Be warned if you aren't into garlic, stay away. Medium level spice is good if you are spicy eater. If you need more, you can ask for chili paste or oil on the side. The servers are always friendly and constantly refilling drinks. Come back for lunch as they have lunch size portions of your favorites that include a rice, fried wonton, and salad. Tip: Parking is limited. Best bet is to find street parking during peak periods.

Yummy food! I've been coming here with my family multiple times and it's always been good! Service has always been the best since I have a big family! Inside there are lots of seats and they also have seating outside in the back as well which is usually where my family and I would sit. This time I went with my boyfriend and we sat inside and it was nice and warm. We love Thai food and so we got a few dishes to try and we definitely didn't finish it but you best believe we packed it to go and have it the next day! The coconut soup warmed us and the skewers to start was amazing. The pad Thai was a hit and curry also was another hit as well! We will be back to try more dishes!

The ambiance was great for a Wednesday night not as busy and so much space to sit. The service was great our server checked in on my party as many times as she could. The food was so delicious. We had pad sew ew with beef, the jumbo shrimp with chu chi sauce, orange chicken, satay chicken, and Thai fried rice with chicken. I also ordered a Thai tea and it was so delicious and not as sweet which is so great in my book. I will totally come back again for a dinner date. The portions are also reasonable and the price is pricey but worth the taste.

The prices were very reasonable and I think my food (including Thai Iced Tea) with tip was under $25, which is pretty much a steal. We waited around 30 minutes to order and get our food and there were quite a few people in the store when we went on a weekend around 7 PM. We ordered the fried rice with chicken and pad Thai. The portions looked relatively small, but filled us up perfectly. We were a party of three but only ordered two entrée since we weren't that hungry. The fried rice was not too salty and was very well balanced, and the cucumbers added an amazing freshness. The pad Thai had a strong acidity to it, but we enjoyed the crispy pork belly it came with. Both of the entrées were not too oily or greasy. The rest of their menu looked amazing and I hope to be back to try it soon. They also have Thai tea which I am a sucker for, so I'll definitely be back to try that too. Overall, I'd recommend this place for some delicious, casual Thai food and good vibes.

It's literally the one dish I always order at any Thai restaurant, so my standards is kinda up there. But also... this was in the middle of the desert at a music festival so ngl I didn't have high hopes lol. But their Spicy Shrimp Pad Thai was so good!! The flavor was super authentic, spicy, tangy, just hitting all the right notes. The noodles had that perfect chewiness, not clumped together so they know exactly what they doing with their food! The shrimp were big and tasted fresh and all the toppings: bean sprouts, grounded peanuts, and lime, just brought everything together so nicely. Also the staff were super sweet and friendly, and I got my food in likes 5 minutes, gave me more enough time to sit down and enjoy my pad thai while waiting for Sabrina Carpenter's stage setup. Miya's Pad Thai completely won me over at Coachella, it's sooo good to the point where now I actually wanna go visit the real restaurant if I'm ever around the Altadena area.

(5 for $10.95). + Tom Kah Soup - this tasted pretty good but not like other tom kah soups I've had? The opacity of the soup was a little more transparent. Veggies included tomato, mushrooms, broccoli, and cabbage. + Kang Kiew Wan (Green Curry) - with chicken. First bites were excellent but as you ate on, it was on a saltier side so make sure to have rice on hand. Ordering here, rice is an add on but we cooked some at home so was all good. Besides the wontons, the price to portions of the other items were very good. We ordered through doordash and the price was consistent as what was on their menu too.

Here are my families favorites: Yellow chicken curry (mild) Spicy wings (they have a sweet chili glaze ) Pad Thai combination (with a lil extra sauce) Rad Na noodles (gravy is tasty!) Chicken Satay (ooh that peanut sauce is ) Papaya salad (brings a nice freshness and crunch!) Mango sticky rice (light coconut flavor and light sweetness, so good!) Even for a sit down restaurant, the ambiance is nice here too. Just small inside, so not ideal for large parties. The staff is very friendly too!

A good option for Thai food if you're in the Pasadena area. We really liked the spaciousness of…read morerestaurant. It has a very open feel with the exposed ceiling. We ordered the Pad Thai, eggplant with tofu, green curry, and sizzling beef for our main coarse. Everything was pretty good. The Pad Thai seasoning was light, not overly sweet like other Thai restaurants. The beef however on the sizzling beef dish was a little on the tough side. We ordered the fried banana dish for our desert. This was our least favorite dish. It was cold on the inside and the banana had turned brown so it was not very appetizing to look at once you cut into it. Would probably not order this again. Overall a nice experience. The staff were very nice and attentive and the restaurant was not crowded at all for lunch on a Saturday afternoon.

The restaurant is spacious and clean. They have a lunch special that is pretty limited but portions were amazing. I got the pad thai which was unfortunately lacking in flavor. The red curry was very good though so maybe their specialties are curries? We also got a dumpling appetizer as well but it was pretty whatever.
